⁴ In him was life, and the life was the light of men.

⁶ (49:7) Of them that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches?

¹ (60:1) For the Leader; upon Shushan Eduth; Michtam of David, to teach; (60:2) when he strove with Aram-naharaim and with Aram-zobah, and Joab returned, and smote of Edom in the Valley of Salt twelve thousand. (60:3) O God, Thou hast cast us off, Thou hast broken us down; Thou hast been angry; O restore us. ² (60:4) Thou hast made the land to shake, Thou hast cleft it; heal the breaches thereof; for it tottereth. ³ (60:5) Thou hast made Thy people to see hard things; Thou hast made us to drink the wine of staggering.

¹¹ (84:12) For the LORD God is a sun and a shield; the LORD giveth grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.

⁴ Say to them that are of a fearful heart: 'Be strong, fear not'; behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God He will come and save you. ⁵ Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.

⁶ I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and have taken hold of thy hand, and kept thee, and set thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the nations; ⁷ To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the dungeon, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison-house.

¹⁶ And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not, in paths that they knew not will I lead them; I will make darkness light before them, and rugged places plain. These things will I do, and I will not leave them undone.

² (3:20) But unto you that fear My name shall the sun of righteousness arise with healing in its wings; and ye shall go forth, and gambol as calves of the stall.

¹⁶ The people that sat in darkness Saw a great light, And to them that sat in the region and shadow of death, To them did light spring up.

⁷⁸ Because of the tender mercy of our God, Whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, ⁷⁹ To shine upon them that sit in darkness and the shadow of death, To guide our feet into the way of peace.

³² A light for revelation to the Gentiles, And the glory of thy people Israel.

⁸ He was not the light, but came that he might bear witness of the light. ⁹ There was the true light, even the light which lighteth every man, coming into the world.

²¹ For as the Father raiseth the dead and giveth them life, even so the Son also giveth life to whom he will.

²⁶ For as the Father hath life in himself, even so gave he to the Son also to have life in himself;

¹² Again therefore Jesus spake unto them, saying, I am the light of the world; he that followeth me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life.

⁵ When I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

³⁵ Jesus therefore said unto them, Yet a little while is the light among you. Walk while ye have the light, that darkness overtake you not; and he that walketh in the darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.

⁴⁶ I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me may not abide in the darkness.

⁶ Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one cometh unto the Father, but by me.

²³ how that the Christ must suffer, and how that he first by the resurrection of the dead should proclaim light both to the people and to the Gentiles.

⁴⁵ So also it is written, The first man Adam became a living soul. The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.

¹⁴ Wherefore he saith, Awake, thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall shine upon thee.

⁴ When Christ, who is our life, shall be manifested, then shall ye also with him be manifested in glory.

² (and the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare unto you the life, the eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us),

⁵ And this is the message which we have heard from him and announce unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. ⁶ If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: ⁷ but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

¹¹ And the witness is this, that God gave unto us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

¹ And he showed me a pure river of water of life, bright as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb,

¹⁶ I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things for the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright, the morning star.
