⁸ The neighbors therefore, and they that saw him aforetime, that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?

¹⁹ So they two went until they came to Beth-lehem. And it came to pass, when they were come to Beth-lehem, that all the city was astir concerning them, and the women said: 'Is this Naomi?'

⁸ He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, He lifteth up the needy from the dung-hill, to make them sit with princes, and inherit the throne of glory; for the pillars of the earth are the LORD'S, and He hath set the world upon them.

² And a certain man that was lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the door of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple, ³ who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked to receive an alms. ⁴ And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him, with John, said, Look on us. ⁵ And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something from them. ⁶ But Peter said, Silver and gold have I none, but what I have, that give I thee. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk. ⁷ And he took him by the right hand, and raised him up; and immediately his feet and his ankle-bones received strength. ⁸ And leaping up, he stood, and began to walk, and he entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. ⁹ And all the people saw him walking and praising God: ¹⁰ and they took knowledge of him, that it was he that sat for alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him. ¹¹ And as the lame man that was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering.
