⁴⁰ And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.

¹⁰ And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying: 'Oh that Thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my border, and that Thy hand might be with me, and that Thou wouldest work deliverance from evil, that it may not pain me!' And God granted him that which he requested.

⁵ My steps have held fast to Thy paths, my feet have not slipped.

⁴ And forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

⁴⁶ and said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, that ye enter not into temptation.

⁷ And by reason of the exceeding greatness of the revelations, that I should not be exalted overmuch, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, that I should not be exalted overmuch. ⁸ Concerning this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. ⁹ And he hath said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee; for my power is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. ¹⁰ Wherefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then am I strong.

¹⁸ with all prayer and supplication praying at all seasons in the Spirit, and watching thereunto in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints, ¹⁹ and on my behalf, that utterance may be given unto me in opening my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel,

⁷ But the end of all things is at hand; be ye therefore of sound mind, and be sober in your prayers:

⁸ Be sober, be watchful; your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour, ⁹ whom withstand stedfast in your faith, knowing that the same sufferings are accomplished in your brethren who are in the world.

¹⁰ Because thou didst keep the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of trial, that hour which is to come upon the whole world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
