³⁰ There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.

²¹ There are many devices in a man's heart; but the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.

⁵ Because Aram hath counselled evil against thee, Ephraim also, and the son of Remaliah, saying: ⁶ Let us go up against Judah, and vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set up a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeel; ⁷ thus saith the Lord GOD: It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass.

⁹ Make an uproar, O ye peoples, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces. ¹⁰ Take counsel together, and it shall be brought to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand; for God is with us.

²⁷ For the LORD of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? And His hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?

¹⁰ Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done; saying: 'My counsel shall stand, and all My pleasure will I do'; ¹¹ Calling a bird of prey from the east, the man of My counsel from a far country; yea, I have spoken, I will also bring it to pass, I have purposed, I will also do it.

²³ (9:22) Thus saith the LORD: Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches;

¹³ Nevertheless the men rowed hard to bring it to the land; but they could not; for the sea grew more and more tempestuous against them.

³⁹ but if it is of God, ye are not able to overthrow them, lest haply ye be found even to be fighting against God.

¹⁹ For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He that taketh the wise in their craftiness: ²⁰ and again, The Lord knoweth the reasonings of the wise that they are vain.

⁸ and, A stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense, for they stumble at the word, being disobedient; whereunto also they were appointed.
