⁶ Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withers before it grows up: ⁷ With which the reaper fills not his hand; nor he that binds sheaves his bosom.

⁶ For he shall be like the shrub in the desert, and shall not see when good comes; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land which is not inhabited.

²⁰ But he that received the seed in stony places, the same is he that hears the word, and immediately with joy receives it;

¹⁰ But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away. ¹¹ For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withers the grass, and its flower falls, and the beauty of the appearance of it perishes: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.

²⁴ For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower thereof falls away:
