¹ [A Psalm of David when he fled from Absalom his son.] LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.

⁶ Arise, O LORD, in your anger, lift up yourself because of the rage of my enemies: and awake for me to the judgment that you have commanded. ⁷ So shall the congregation of the people surround you: for their sakes therefore return you on high.

³ When my enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at your presence.

¹⁴ That I may show forth all your praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in your salvation.

⁶ I will sing unto the LORD, because he has dealt bountifully with me.

¹⁷ He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them who hated me: for they were too strong for me.

⁴¹ Yet sets he the poor on high from affliction, and makes their families like a flock. ⁴² The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop its mouth.

⁶ The LORD preserves the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me. ⁷ Return unto your rest, O my soul; for the LORD has dealt bountifully with you.

⁷ Who executes justice for the oppressed: who gives food to the hungry. The LORD looses the prisoners:
