¹ [A Psalm of Asaph.] The mighty God, even the LORD, has spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof. ² Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God has shined. ³ Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him. ⁴ He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people. ⁵ Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice. ⁶ And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah. ⁷ Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against you: I am God, even your God. ⁸ I will not reprove you for your sacrifices or your burnt offerings, to have been continually before me. ⁹ I will take no bullock out of your house, nor male goats out of your folds. ¹⁰ For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills. ¹¹ I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine. ¹² If I were hungry, I would not tell you: for the world is mine, and the fullness thereof. ¹³ Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats? ¹⁴ Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay your vows unto the most High: ¹⁵ And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me. ¹⁶ But unto the wicked God says, What have you to do to declare my statutes, or that you should take my covenant in your mouth? ¹⁷ Seeing you hate instruction, and cast my words behind you. ¹⁸ When you saw a thief, then you consented with him, and have been partaker with adulterers. ¹⁹ You give your mouth to evil, and your tongue frames deceit. ²⁰ You sit and speak against your brother; you slander your own mother's son. ²¹ These things have you done, and I kept silence; you thought that I was altogether such a one as yourself: but I will rebuke you, and set them in order before your eyes. ²² Now consider this, you that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver. ²³ Whoever offers praise glorifies me: and to him that orders his conduct aright will I show the salvation of God.

¹ And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be you perfect.

²² The LORD God of gods, the LORD God of gods, he knows, and Israel he shall know; if it be in rebellion, or if in transgression against the LORD, (save us not this day,)

²¹ And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long do you halt between two opinions? if the LORD is God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

³⁶ And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that you are God in Israel, and that I am your servant, and that I have done all these things at your word. ³⁷ Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that you are the LORD God, and that you have turned their heart back again.

¹⁷ So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brethren, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;

³⁷ So he left there before the ark of the covenant of the LORD Asaph and his brethren, to minister before the ark continually, as every day’s work required:

² Of the sons of Asaph; Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asharelah, the sons of Asaph under the direction of Asaph, who prophesied according to the order of the king.

⁶ All these were under the direction of their father in the music in the house of the LORD, with cymbals, lyres, and harps, for the service of the house of God, according to the king’s order to Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman.

³⁰ Moreover Hezekiah the king and the princes commanded the Levites to sing praise unto the LORD with the words of David, and of Asaph the seer. And they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshiped.

⁶ You, even you, are LORD alone; you have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and you preserve them all; and the host of heaven worships you.

³² Now therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who keeps covenant and mercy, let not all the trouble seem little before you, that has come upon us, on our kings, on our princes, and on our priests, and on our prophets, and on our fathers, and on all your people, since the time of the kings of Assyria unto this day.

¹ [To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of the sons of Korah.] Hear this, all you people; give ear, all you inhabitants of the world: ² Both low and high, rich and poor, together.

¹ [A Psalm of Asaph.] Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart.

¹ [A Psalm or Song of Asaph.] Keep not silence, O God: hold not your peace, and be not still, O God.

³ From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD's name is to be praised.

³ Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable. ⁴ One generation shall praise your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts. ⁵ I will speak of the glorious honor of your majesty, and of your wondrous works. ⁶ And men shall speak of the might of your wondrous acts: and I will declare your greatness.

² Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD has spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.

⁶ For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

²⁰ Now therefore, O LORD our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you are the LORD, even you only.

⁵ For your Maker is your husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and your Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.

⁶ Since as there is none like unto you, O LORD; you are great, and your name is great in might.

¹⁸ You show lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompense the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts, is his name, ¹⁹ Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for your eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give everyone according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:

⁸ The lion has roared, who will not fear? the Lord GOD has spoken, who can but prophesy?

¹¹ For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the nations, says the LORD of hosts.

³² And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats:

² And he said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them.

² Beautiful for elevation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.

²⁴ They have seen your goings, O God; even the goings of my God, my King, in the sanctuary.

¹ [To the Chief Musician upon shoshannim – Eduth. A Psalm of Asaph.] Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, you that lead Joseph like a flock; you that dwell between the cherubim, shine forth.

¹⁷ Let your hand be upon the man of your right hand, upon the son of man whom you made strong for yourself.

² The LORD loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob. ³ Glorious things are spoken of you, O city of God. Selah.

¹ O LORD God, to whom vengeance belongs; O God, to whom vengeance belongs, show yourself.

¹⁶ His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.

⁶ Cry out and shout, you inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of you.

²¹ For, behold, the LORD comes out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her bloodshed, and shall no more cover her slain.

¹⁵ All that pass by clap their hands at you; they hiss and wag their head at the daughter of Jerusalem, saying, Is this the city that men call The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth?

¹⁵ I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early.

²⁰ But the LORD is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him.

³ God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise. ⁴ And his brightness was as the light; he had rays flashing out of his hand: and there was his power hidden.

¹⁷ For how great is his goodness, and how great is his beauty! grain shall make the young men cheerful, and new wine the maidens.

²² But you are come unto mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, ²³ To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, who are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, ²⁴ And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaks better things than that of Abel. ²⁵ See that you refuse not him that speaks. For if they escaped not who refused him that spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape, if we turn away from him that speaks from heaven: ²⁶ Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he has promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.

¹⁶ And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp two edged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shines in its strength.

²³ And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God is its light, and the Lamb is its lamp.

¹⁸ And mount Sinai was completely in smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke of it ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.

² And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.

³⁵ And there came out a fire from the LORD, and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense.

³ Understand therefore this day, that the LORD your God is he who goes over before you; as a consuming fire he shall destroy them, and he shall bring them down before your face: so shall you drive them out, and destroy them quickly, as the LORD has said unto you.

¹¹ And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind tore the mountains, and broke in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake: ¹² And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

⁷ Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was angry. ⁸ There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it. ⁹ He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet. ¹⁰ And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind. ¹¹ He made darkness his secret place; his canopy round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies. ¹² At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, with hailstones and coals of fire. ¹³ The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire. ¹⁴ Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and vanquished them. ¹⁵ Then the channels of the sea were seen, and the foundations of the world were uncovered at your rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of your nostrils.

¹⁴ For this God is our God forever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.

²¹ These things have you done, and I kept silence; you thought that I was altogether such a one as yourself: but I will rebuke you, and set them in order before your eyes.

²⁰ He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord belong the escape from death.

¹³ Before the LORD: for he comes, for he comes to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.

³ A fire goes before him, and burns up his enemies round about. ⁴ His lightnings light up the world: the earth saw, and trembled. ⁵ The hills melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.

¹³ The LORD shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, shout aloud; he shall prevail against his enemies. ¹⁴ I have long time held my peace; I have been still, and restrained myself: now will I cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once.

⁶ Behold, it is written before me: I will not keep silence, but will repay, even repay into their bosom, ⁷ Your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, says the LORD, who have burned incense upon the mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills: therefore will I measure their former work into their bosom.

¹⁰ A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.

⁵ The mountains quake before him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell in it. ⁶ Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him. ⁷ The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knows them that trust in him.

⁵ Before him went the pestilence, and burning fever went forth at his feet.

² But who may endure the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appears? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap: ³ And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.

¹ For, behold, the day comes, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that comes shall burn them up, says the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

¹² Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the barn; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

⁸ In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: ⁹ Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

³ How shall we escape, if we neglect so great a salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

²⁸ He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: ²⁹ Of how much worse punishment, suppose you, shall he be thought worthy, who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant, with which he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and has done insult unto the Spirit of grace?

¹⁸ For you are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest, ¹⁹ And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard entreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more: ²⁰ (For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as an animal touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a spear: ²¹ And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:)

²⁹ For our God is a consuming fire.

²⁰ He who testifies these things says, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

²⁶ I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that you shall soon utterly perish from off the land which you go over Jordan to possess; you shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed.

³⁶ Out of heaven he made you to hear his voice, that he might instruct you: and upon earth he showed you his great fire; and you heard his words out of the midst of the fire.

¹⁹ I call heaven and earth as witness this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live:

²⁸ Gather unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth as witness against them.

¹ Give ear, O you heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.

⁶ And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah.

⁹ Before the LORD; for he comes to judge the earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity.

³ And his delight shall be in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: ⁴ But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.

¹ Hear you now what the LORD says; Arise, contend before the mountains, and let the hills hear your voice. ² Hear you, O mountains, the LORD'S controversy, and you strong foundations of the earth: for the LORD has a controversy with his people, and he will contend with Israel.

²² For the Father judges no man, but has committed all judgment unto the Son: ²³ That all men should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that honors not the Son honors not the Father who has sent him.

³ And Moses came and told the people all the words of the LORD, and all the ordinances: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which the LORD has said will we do. ⁴ And Moses wrote all the words of the LORD, and rose up early in the morning, and built an altar at the foot of the mountain, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel. ⁵ And he sent young men of the children of Israel, who offered burnt offerings, and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen unto the LORD. ⁶ And Moses took half of the blood, and put it in basins; and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar. ⁷ And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the hearing of the people: and they said, All that the LORD has said will we do, and be obedient. ⁸ And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the LORD has made with you concerning all these words.

⁴ Sing unto the LORD, O you saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.

¹⁰ You that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserves the souls of his saints; he delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.

⁸ He keeps the paths of justice, and preserves the way of his saints.

³ I have commanded my sanctified ones, I have also called my mighty ones for my anger, even them that rejoice in my exaltation.

⁵ And you shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, you shall flee, like as you fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with him.

³¹ And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

²⁸ For this is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

² Do you not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? ³ Know you not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

¹³ To the end he may establish your hearts unblamable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

¹⁶ For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: ¹⁷ Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

¹ Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

¹⁰ Which stood only in foods and drinks, and various washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation. ¹¹ But Christ being come a high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; ¹² Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. ¹³ For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies to the purifying of the flesh: ¹⁴ How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? ¹⁵ And for this cause he is the mediator of the new covenant, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first covenant, they who are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. ¹⁶ For where a will is, there must also of necessity be the death of the maker. ¹⁷ For a will is in force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the maker lives. ¹⁸ Hence neither the first covenant was dedicated without blood. ¹⁹ For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people, ²⁰ Saying, This is the blood of the covenant which God has commanded unto you. ²¹ Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry. ²² And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. ²³ It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

²⁴ And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaks better things than that of Abel.

²⁰ Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

¹⁴ And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of his saints,

²⁵ That be far from you to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from you: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?

³ O LORD my God, if I have done this; if there be iniquity in my hands; ⁴ If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me; (yea, I have delivered him that without cause is my enemy:) ⁵ Let the enemy persecute my soul, and take it; yea, let him tread down my life upon the earth, and lay my honor in the dust. Selah.

¹⁶ The LORD is known by the judgment which he executes: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah.

⁷ But God is the judge: he puts down one, and sets up another.

⁵ And the heavens shall praise your wonders, O LORD: your faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints.

⁶ The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.

⁵ But according to your hardness and unrepentant heart treasure up unto yourself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

⁹ For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. ¹⁰ But why do you judge your brother? or why do you despise your brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. ¹¹ For it is written, As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. ¹² So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

¹⁰ For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that everyone may be recompensed for the things done in his body, according to what he has done, whether it be good or bad.

⁵ And I heard the angel of the waters say, You are righteous, O Lord, who is, and was, and shall be, because you have judged thus. ⁶ For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and you have given them blood to drink; for they are deserving of it. ⁷ And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are your judgments.

² For true and righteous are his judgments: for he has judged the great harlot, who did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and has avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.

¹¹ And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. ¹² And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

⁵ Now therefore, if you will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then you shall be a special treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: ⁶ And you shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation. These are the words which you shall speak unto the children of Israel.

² I am the LORD your God, who has brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

¹⁷ You have declared the LORD this day to be your God, and to walk in his ways, and to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and to hearken unto his voice: ¹⁸ And the LORD has declared you this day to be his peculiar people, as he has promised you, and that you should keep all his commandments;

¹⁹ Now therefore write this song for you, and teach it to the children of Israel: put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Israel. ²⁰ For when I shall have brought them into the land which I swore unto their fathers, that flows with milk and honey; and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and grown fat; then will they turn unto other gods, and serve them, and provoke me, and break my covenant. ²¹ And it shall come to pass, when many evils and troubles are befallen them, that this song shall testify against them as a witness; for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their descendants: for I know their imagination which they go about, even now, before I have brought them into the land which I swore.

²² For the LORD will not forsake his people for his great name's sake: because it has pleased the LORD to make you his people. ²³ Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way: ²⁴ Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things he has done for you. ²⁵ But if you shall still do wickedly, you shall be consumed, both you and your king.

¹³ Yet the LORD testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn you from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.

⁵ Therefore the LORD his God delivered him into the hand of the king of Syria; and they defeated him, and carried away a great multitude of them captives, and brought them to Damascus. And he was also delivered into the hand of the king of Israel, who defeated him with a great slaughter.

²⁹ And testified against them, that you might bring them again unto your law: yet they acted presumptuously, and hearkened not unto your commandments, but sinned against your judgments, (which if a man does, he shall live in them;) and turned the shoulder, and hardened their neck, and would not hear. ³⁰ Yet many years did you bear with them, and testified against them by your spirit in your prophets: yet would they not give ear: therefore you gave them into the hand of the people of the lands.

¹ [To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of the sons of Korah.] Hear this, all you people; give ear, all you inhabitants of the world:

⁸ Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto you: O Israel, if you will hearken unto me;

¹⁰ I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt: open your mouth wide, and I will fill it. ¹¹ But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would have none of me. ¹² So I gave them up unto their own hearts' lust: and they walked in their own counsels.

¹⁸ Come now, and let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

⁴ Hear you the word of the LORD, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel: ⁵ Thus says the LORD, What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they have gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain?

⁹ Therefore I will yet plead with you, says the LORD, and with your children’s children will I plead.

⁵ And say unto them, Thus says the Lord GOD; In the day when I chose Israel, and lifted up my hand unto the descendants of the house of Jacob, and made myself known unto them in the land of Egypt, when I lifted up my hand unto them, saying, I am the LORD your God;

⁷ Then said I unto them, Cast you away every man the abominations of his eyes, and defile not yourselves with the idols of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

¹⁹ I am the LORD your God; walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; ²⁰ And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that you may know that I am the LORD your God.

¹ Hear you now what the LORD says; Arise, contend before the mountains, and let the hills hear your voice. ² Hear you, O mountains, the LORD'S controversy, and you strong foundations of the earth: for the LORD has a controversy with his people, and he will contend with Israel. ³ O my people, what have I done unto you? and in what have I wearied you? testify against me. ⁴ For I brought you up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage; and I sent before you Moses, Aaron, and Miriam. ⁵ O my people, remember now what Balak king of Moab devised, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him, from Shittim unto Gilgal; that you may know the righteousness of the LORD. ⁶ With what shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old? ⁷ Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? ⁸ He has showed you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?

⁹ And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will test them as gold is tested: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, They are my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.

⁵ And I will come near to you for judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the sojourner from his right, and fear not me, says the LORD of hosts.

⁶ Sacrifice and offering you did not desire; my ears have you opened: burnt offering and sin offering have you not required. ⁷ Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me, ⁸ I delight to do your will, O my God: yea, your law is within my heart.

¹⁶ For you desire not sacrifice; else would I give it: you delight not in burnt offering.

¹¹ To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? says the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of male goats. ¹² When you come to appear before me, who has required this at your hand, to trample my courts? ¹³ Bring no more vain offerings; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot endure; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting. ¹⁴ Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hates: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary of bearing them. ¹⁵ And when you spread forth your hands, I will hide my eyes from you: yea, when you make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood. ¹⁶ Wash you, make yourself clean; put away the evil of your doings from before my eyes; cease to do evil; ¹⁷ Learn to do good; seek justice, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. ¹⁸ Come now, and let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. ¹⁹ If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land: ²⁰ But if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD has spoken it. ²¹ How has the faithful city become a harlot! it was full of justice; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers. ²² Your silver has become dross, your wine mixed with water: ²³ Your princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: everyone loves bribes, and follows after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither does the cause of the widow come before them. ²⁴ Therefore says the Lord, the LORD of hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will rid myself of my adversaries, and avenge myself of my enemies: ²⁵ And I will turn my hand upon you, and thoroughly purge away your dross, and take away all your alloy: ²⁶ And I will restore your judges as at the first, and your counselors as at the beginning: afterward you shall be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city. ²⁷ Zion shall be redeemed with justice, and her converts with righteousness. ²⁸ And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the LORD shall be consumed. ²⁹ For you shall be ashamed of the sacred oaks which you have desired, and you shall be embarrassed for the gardens that you have chosen. ³⁰ For you shall be as an oak whose leaf fades, and as a garden that has no water. ³¹ And the strong shall be as tinder, and the work of it as a spark, and they shall both burn together, and none shall quench them .

²¹ Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Add your burnt offerings unto your sacrifices, and eat the flesh. ²² For I spoke not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices: ²³ But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be my people: and walk you in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.

⁶ For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

⁴ For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. ⁵ Therefore when he comes into the world, he says, Sacrifice and offering you desired not, but a body have you prepared me: ⁶ In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you have had no pleasure. ⁷ Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do your will, O God. ⁸ Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin you desired not, neither had pleasure in them; which are offered by the law; ⁹ Then said he, Lo, I come to do your will, O God. He takes away the first, that he may establish the second. ¹⁰ By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

³¹ This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bullock that has horns and hoofs.

²³ You have not brought me the sheep of your burnt offerings; neither have you honored me with your sacrifices. I have not caused you to serve with grain offerings, nor wearied you with incense. ²⁴ You have bought me no sweet cane with money, neither have you filled me with the fat of your sacrifices: but you have made me to serve with your sins, you have wearied me with your iniquities.

²⁵ Neither is worshiped with men's hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he gives to all life, and breath, and all things;

²⁴ And God said, Let the earth bring forth living creatures after their kinds, cattle, and creeping things, and beasts of the earth after their kinds: and it was so ²⁵ And God made the beasts of the earth after their kinds, and cattle after their kinds, and every thing that creeps upon the earth after its kind: and God saw that it was good.

¹⁹ And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was its name.

¹⁷ Bring forth with you every living thing that is with you, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.

² And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moves upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered. ³ Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you; even as the green plants have I given you all things.

⁹ Thus God has taken away the cattle of your father, and given them to me.

¹⁴ But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly as this? for all things come from you, and of your own have we given you. ¹⁵ For we are strangers before you, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is no abiding. ¹⁶ O LORD our God, all this abundance that we have prepared to build you a house for your holy name comes from your hand, and is all your own.

¹⁵ Behold now behemoth, which I made with you; he eats grass as an ox. ¹⁶ Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the muscles of his belly. ¹⁷ He moves his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his thighs are knit together. ¹⁸ His bones are as strong pieces of bronze; his bones are like bars of iron. ¹⁹ He is the first of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him. ²⁰ Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play. ²¹ He lies under the shady trees, in the hiding of the reeds, and marsh. ²² The shady trees cover him with their shade; the willows of the brook surround him. ²³ Behold, though a river rages, he fears not: he is confident though the Jordan rushes into his mouth. ²⁴ He takes it with his eyes: his nose pierces through snares.

⁶ You made him to have dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet: ⁷ All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; ⁸ The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passes through the paths of the seas.

¹⁴ He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;

²⁴ O LORD, how manifold are your works! in wisdom have you made them all: the earth is full of your riches. ²⁵ So is this great and wide sea, which teems with things innumerable, both small and great.

⁵ I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed right unto me. ⁶ And now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the beasts of the field have I given him also to serve him.

³⁸ And wherever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven has he given into your hand, and has made you ruler over them all. You are this head of gold.

¹¹ And should not I spare Nineveh, that great city, in which are more than sixscore thousand persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also many cattle?

²⁰ And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that has life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. ²¹ And God created great sea creatures, and every living thing that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after its kind: and God saw that it was good. ²² And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

⁴¹ Who provides for the raven its food? when its young ones cry unto God, they wander about for lack of food.

¹³ Gave you the proud wings unto the peacocks? or wings and feathers unto the ostrich? ¹⁴ Which leaves her eggs in the earth, and warms them in dust, ¹⁵ And forgets that the foot may crush them, or that a wild beast may break them. ¹⁶ She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not hers: her labor is in vain without concern; ¹⁷ Because God has deprived her of wisdom, neither has he imparted to her understanding. ¹⁸ When she lifts up herself high, she scorns the horse and his rider.

²⁶ Does the hawk fly by your wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south? ²⁷ Does the eagle mount up at your command, and make her nest on high? ²⁸ She dwells and abides on the rock, upon the crag of the rock, and the stronghold. ²⁹ From there she seeks the prey, and her eyes behold afar off. ³⁰ Her young ones also suck up blood: and where the slain are, there is she.

¹² By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their habitation, which sing among the branches.

⁹ He gives to the beast its food, and to the young ravens that cry.

⁹ All you beasts of the field, come to devour, yea, all you beasts in the forest.

¹⁵ If I cause wild beasts to pass through the land, and they ravage it, so that it is desolate, that no man may pass through because of the beasts: ¹⁶ Though these three men were in it, as I live, says the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters; they only shall be delivered, but the land shall be desolate.

²⁶ Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much better than they?

²⁹ Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. ³⁰ But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. ³¹ Fear not therefore, you are of more value than many sparrows.

²⁴ Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them: how much more are you better than the fowls?

¹¹ And God said, Let the earth bring forth vegetation, the plants yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after its kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. ¹² And the earth brought forth vegetation, and plants yielding seed after their kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after its kind: and God saw that it was good.

²⁸ And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth. ²⁹ And God said, Behold, I have given you every plant bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, which has seed in its fruit; to you it shall be for food. ³⁰ And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to everything that creeps upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green plant for food: and it was so.

⁵ Now therefore, if you will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then you shall be a special treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:

¹⁴ Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the LORD'S your God, the earth also, with all that is in it.

¹¹ Who has given to me, that I should repay him? whatsoever is under the whole heaven is mine.

¹ [A Psalm of David.] The earth is the LORD'S, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. ² For he has founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.

²⁴ O LORD, how manifold are your works! in wisdom have you made them all: the earth is full of your riches.

¹⁵ You are blessed of the LORD who made heaven and earth. ¹⁶ The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD's: but the earth has he given to the children of men.

¹⁵ The eyes of all wait upon you; and you give them their food in due season. ¹⁶ You open your hand, and satisfy the desire of every living thing.

²⁶ For the earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof. ²⁷ If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast, and you be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience’s sake. ²⁸ But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that showed it, and for conscience’s sake: for the earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof:

² Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When a man shall make a special vow of persons to the LORD at your valuation, ³ Then your valuation shall be for the male from twenty years old even unto sixty years old, even your valuation shall be fifty shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary. ⁴ And if it be a female, then your valuation shall be thirty shekels. ⁵ And if it be from five years old even unto twenty years old, then your valuation shall be for the male twenty shekels, and for the female ten shekels. ⁶ And if it be from a month old even unto five years old, then your valuation shall be for the male five shekels of silver, and for the female your valuation shall be three shekels of silver. ⁷ And if it be from sixty years old and above; if it be a male, then your valuation shall be fifteen shekels, and for the female ten shekels. ⁸ But if he is too poor to pay your valuation, then he shall present himself before the priest, and the priest shall value him; according to his ability that vowed shall the priest value him. ⁹ And if it be an animal, of which men bring an offering unto the LORD, all that any man gives of such unto the LORD shall be holy. ¹⁰ He shall not alter it, nor change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good: and if he shall at all change animal for animal, then it and the exchange thereof shall be holy. ¹¹ And if it be any unclean animal, of which they do not offer a sacrifice unto the LORD, then he shall present the animal before the priest: ¹² And the priest shall value it, whether it be good or bad: as you value it, who are the priest, so shall it be. ¹³ But if he will at all redeem it, then he shall add a fifth part thereof unto your valuation. ¹⁴ And when a man shall dedicate his house to be holy unto the LORD, then the priest shall value it, whether it be good or bad: as the priest shall value it, so shall it stand. ¹⁵ And if he that dedicates it will redeem his house, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of your valuation unto it, and it shall be his. ¹⁶ And if a man shall dedicate unto the LORD some part of a field of his possession, then your valuation shall be according to the seed from it: a homer of barley seed shall be valued at fifty shekels of silver. ¹⁷ If he dedicates his field from the year of jubilee, according to your valuation it shall stand. ¹⁸ But if he dedicates his field after the jubilee, then the priest shall reckon unto him the money due according to the years that remain, even unto the year of the jubilee, and it shall be deducted from your valuation. ¹⁹ And if he that dedicates the field will at any time redeem it, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of your valuation unto it, and it shall belong to him. ²⁰ And if he will not redeem the field, or if he has sold the field to another man, it shall not be redeemed anymore. ²¹ But the field, when it goes out in the jubilee, shall be holy unto the LORD, as a field devoted; the possession thereof shall be the priest's. ²² And if a man dedicates unto the LORD a field which he has bought, which is not of the fields of his possession; ²³ Then the priest shall reckon unto him the worth of your valuation, even up to the year of the jubilee: and he shall give your valuation in that day, as a holy thing unto the LORD. ²⁴ In the year of the jubilee the field shall return unto him of whom it was bought, even to him to whom the possession of the land did belong. ²⁵ And all your valuations shall be according to the shekel of the sanctuary: twenty gerahs shall be the shekel. ²⁶ Only the firstling of the animals, which should be the LORD'S firstling, no man may dedicate it; whether it be ox, or sheep: it is the LORD'S. ²⁷ And if it be of an unclean animal, then he shall redeem it according to your valuation, and shall add a fifth part to it: or if it be not redeemed, then it shall be sold according to your valuation. ²⁸ Nevertheless no devoted thing, that a man shall devote unto the LORD of all that he has, both of man and animal, and of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: every devoted thing is most holy unto the LORD. ²⁹ No one devoted to destruction, who shall be devoted among men, shall be redeemed; but shall surely be put to death. ³⁰ And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD'S: it is holy unto the LORD. ³¹ And if a man will at all redeem any of his tithes, he shall add to it the fifth part thereof. ³² And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatsoever passes under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the LORD. ³³ He shall not search whether it be good or bad, neither shall he change it: and if he changes it at all, then both it and the change thereof shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed. ³⁴ These are the commandments, which the LORD commanded Moses for the children of Israel on mount Sinai.

² If a man vows a vow unto the LORD, or swears an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth. ³ If a woman also vows a vow unto the LORD, and binds herself by a bond, being in her father's house in her youth; ⁴ And her father hears her vow, and her bond with which she has bound her soul, and her father shall hold his peace at her: then all her vows shall stand, and every bond with which she has bound her soul shall stand. ⁵ But if her father forbids her in the day that he hears; not any of her vows, or of her bonds with which she has bound her soul, shall stand: and the LORD shall forgive her, because her father forbade her. ⁶ And if she had indeed a husband, when she vowed, or uttered anything out of her lips, with which she bound her soul; ⁷ And her husband heard it, and held his peace at her in the day that he heard it: then her vows shall stand, and her bonds with which she bound her soul shall stand. ⁸ But if her husband forbade her on the day that he heard it; then he shall make her vow which she vowed, and that which she uttered with her lips, with which she bound her soul, of none effect: and the LORD shall forgive her. ⁹ But every vow of a widow, and of her that is divorced, with which they have bound their souls, shall stand against her. ¹⁰ And if she vowed in her husband's house, or bound her soul by a bond with an oath; ¹¹ And her husband heard it, and held his peace at her, and forbade her not: then all her vows shall stand, and every bond with which she bound her soul shall stand. ¹² But if her husband has truly made them void on the day he heard them; then whatsoever proceeded out of her lips concerning her vows, or concerning the bond of her soul, shall not stand: her husband has made them void; and the LORD shall forgive her. ¹³ Every vow, and every binding oath to afflict the soul, her husband may establish it, or her husband may make it void. ¹⁴ But if her husband altogether holds his peace at her from day to day; then he establishes all her vows, or all her bonds, which are upon her: he confirms them, because he held his peace at her in the day that he heard them. ¹⁵ But if he shall in any way make them void after that he has heard them; then he shall bear her iniquity. ¹⁶ These are the statutes, which the LORD commanded Moses, between a man and his wife, between the father and his daughter, being yet in her youth in her father's house.

²¹ When you shall vow a vow unto the LORD your God, you shall not delay to pay it: for the LORD your God will surely require it of you; and it would be sin to you.

²⁵ My praise shall be of you in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him.

⁶ And now shall my head be lifted up above my enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.

²³ Whoever offers praise glorifies me: and to him that orders his conduct aright will I show the salvation of God.

¹² Your vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto you.

⁸ So will I sing praise unto your name forever, that I may daily perform my vows.

³⁰ I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving. ³¹ This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bullock that has horns and hoofs.

¹¹ Vow, and pay unto the LORD your God: let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.

²¹ Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! ²² And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.

¹² What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me? ¹³ I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD. ¹⁴ I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people.

¹⁷ I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD. ¹⁸ I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people,

¹ Praise you the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is fitting.

⁴ When you vow a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he has no pleasure in fools: pay that which you have vowed. ⁵ Better is it that you should not vow, than that you should vow and not pay.

² Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we offer the sacrifices of our lips.

¹⁵ Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that brings good tidings, that publishes peace! O Judah, keep your solemn feasts, perform your vows: for the wicked shall no more pass through you; he is utterly cut off.

¹ I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

¹⁸ In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

¹⁵ By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

⁵ You also, as living stones, are built up into a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

⁹ But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own; that you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:

¹² And when he was in affliction, he sought the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers, ¹³ And prayed unto him: and he received his entreaty, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD was God.

²⁷ You shall make your prayer unto him, and he shall hear you, and you shall pay your vows.

²³ You that fear the LORD, praise him; all you descendants of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all you descendants of Israel.

³ O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together. ⁴ I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

¹³ I will go into your house with burnt offerings: I will pay you my vows, ¹⁴ Which my lips have uttered, and my mouth has spoken, when I was in trouble. ¹⁵ I will offer unto you burnt sacrifices of fatlings, with the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks with goats. Selah. ¹⁶ Come and hear, all you that fear God, and I will declare what he has done for my soul. ¹⁷ I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue. ¹⁸ If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me: ¹⁹ But verily God has heard me; he has attended to the voice of my prayer. ²⁰ Blessed be God, who has not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.

² In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night, and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted.

⁷ You called in trouble, and I delivered you; I answered you in the secret place of thunder: I tested you at the waters of Meribah. Selah.

¹⁵ He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him.

⁶ Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses. ⁷ And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation. ⁸ Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! ⁹ For he satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness. ¹⁰ Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and in irons; ¹¹ Because they rebelled against the words of God, and the counsel of the most High: ¹² Therefore he brought down their heart with labor; they fell down, and there was none to help. ¹³ Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.

⁸ In this is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit; so shall you be my disciples.

²⁵ And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

¹³ Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.

¹¹ If any man speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man ministers, let him do it as of the ability which God gives: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

¹⁴ If you be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are you; for the spirit of glory and of God rests upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.

¹⁴ The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will show them his covenant.

³⁶ Nevertheless they did flatter him with their mouth, and they lied unto him with their tongues. ³⁷ For their heart was not right with him, neither were they steadfast in his covenant. ³⁸ But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not: yea, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath.

⁷ The legs of the lame are not equal: so is a parable in the mouth of fools.

¹¹ To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? says the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of male goats. ¹² When you come to appear before me, who has required this at your hand, to trample my courts? ¹³ Bring no more vain offerings; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot endure; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting. ¹⁴ Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hates: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary of bearing them. ¹⁵ And when you spread forth your hands, I will hide my eyes from you: yea, when you make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.

¹³ Therefore the Lord said, Since this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honor me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:

¹ Hear this, O house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel, and have come forth out of the waters of Judah, who swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness. ² For they call themselves after the holy city, and anchor themselves upon the God of Israel; The LORD of hosts is his name.

²² There is no peace, says the LORD, unto the wicked.

⁶ Seek you the LORD while he may be found, call you upon him while he is near: ⁷ Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

¹ Cry aloud, spare not, lift up your voice like a trumpet, and show my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins. ² Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching God. ³ Why have we fasted, they say, and you see not? why have we afflicted our soul, and you take no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast you find pleasure, and exploit all your laborers. ⁴ Behold, you fast for strife and debate, and to strike with the fist of wickedness: you shall not fast as you do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high. ⁵ Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? will you call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD? ⁶ Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke? ⁷ Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and that you bring the poor that are cast out to your house? when you see the naked, that you cover him; and that you hide not yourself from your own flesh?

⁴ Trust you not in lying words, saying, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, are these. ⁵ For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings; if you thoroughly execute justice between a man and his neighbor; ⁶ If you oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt: ⁷ Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, forever and ever.

²⁷ Again, when the wicked man turns away from his wickedness that he has committed, and does that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.

³⁷ And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant: ³⁸ And I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me: I will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and you shall know that I am the LORD.

³ And why behold you the speck that is in your brother's eye, but consider not the beam that is in your own eye? ⁴ Or how will you say to your brother, Let me pull the speck out of your eye; and, behold, a beam is in your own eye? ⁵ You hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of your own eye; and then shall you see clearly to cast out the speck out of your brother's eye.

²² Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? and in your name have cast out demons? and in your name done many wonderful works? ²³ And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity.

²⁴ God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

¹³ Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon themselves to call over them who had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preaches. ¹⁴ And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, who did so. ¹⁵ And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you? ¹⁶ And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

¹⁷ Behold, you are called a Jew, and rest in the law, and make your boast of God, ¹⁸ And know his will, and approve the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law; ¹⁹ And are confident that you yourself are a guide of the blind, a light of them who are in darkness, ²⁰ An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, who has the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law. ²¹ You therefore who teach another, can you not teach yourself? you that preach a man should not steal, do you steal? ²² You that say a man should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? you that abhor idols, do you commit sacrilege? ²³ You that make your boast of the law, through breaking the law do you dishonor God? ²⁴ For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written.

²⁷ But I roughly treat my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be disqualified.

⁹ Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, says the Lord.

¹⁵ Who have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

⁹ But have done evil above all that were before you: for you have gone and made you other gods, and molten images, to provoke me to anger, and have cast me behind your back:

²⁶ Nevertheless they were disobedient, and rebelled against you, and cast your law behind their backs, and slew your prophets who testified against them to turn them to you, and they worked great provocations.

⁷ The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

²⁸ Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: ²⁹ Because they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:

¹² And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof; ¹³ And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined my ear to them that instructed me!

³⁶ But he that sins against me wrongs his own soul: all they that hate me love death.

¹ Whosoever loves instruction loves knowledge: but he that hates reproof is senseless.

²³ Who justify the wicked for a bribe, and take away the justice of the righteous from him!

⁹ The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them?

¹² And they said, There is no hope: but we will walk after our own plans, and we will everyone do the imagination of his evil heart.

²³ And it came to pass, that when Jehudi had read three or four columns, he cut it with the penknife, and cast it into the fire that was on the hearth, until all the scroll was consumed in the fire that was on the hearth. ²⁴ Yet they were not afraid, nor tore their garments, neither the king, nor any of his servants that heard all these words. ²⁵ Nevertheless Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah had made intercession to the king that he would not burn the scroll: but he would not hear them. ²⁶ But the king commanded Jerahmeel the son of Hammelech, and Seraiah the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah the son of Abdeel, to seize Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet: but the LORD hid them. ²⁷ Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, after the king had burned the scroll, and the words which Baruch wrote at the mouth of Jeremiah, saying, ²⁸ Take you again another scroll, and write in it all the former words that were in the first scroll, which Jehoiakim the king of Judah has burned. ²⁹ And you shall say to Jehoiakim king of Judah, Thus says the LORD; You have burned this scroll, saying, Why have you written in it, saying, The king of Babylon shall certainly come and destroy this land, and shall cause to cease from there man and beast? ³⁰ Therefore thus says the LORD of Jehoiakim king of Judah; He shall have none to sit upon the throne of David: and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost. ³¹ And I will punish him and his descendants and his servants for their iniquity; and I will bring upon them, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and upon the men of Judah, all the evil that I have pronounced against them; but they hearkened not. ³² Then took Jeremiah another scroll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah; who wrote in it from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire: and there were added besides unto them many like words.

²⁰ For everyone that does evil hates the light, neither comes to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.

²⁸ And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not proper;

¹⁰ And with all deception of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. ¹¹ And for this cause God shall send them a strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: ¹² That they all might be condemned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

³ For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they draw to themselves teachers, having itching ears; ⁴ And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto myths.

¹⁰ And the man that commits adultery with another man's wife, even he that commits adultery with his neighbor's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.

⁹ If my heart has been deceived by a woman, or if I have laid wait at my neighbor’s door; ¹⁰ Then let my wife grind for another, and let others bow down upon her. ¹¹ For this is a heinous crime; yea, it is an iniquity to be punished by the judges.

¹⁰ My son, if sinners entice you, consent not. ¹¹ If they say, Come with us, let us lie in wait for blood, let us lurk secretly for the innocent without cause: ¹² Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit: ¹³ We shall find all kinds of precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil: ¹⁴ Cast in your lot among us; let us all have one purse: ¹⁵ My son, walk not in the way with them; refrain your foot from their path: ¹⁶ For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood. ¹⁷ Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird. ¹⁸ And they lie in wait for their own blood; they lurk secretly for their own lives. ¹⁹ So are the ways of everyone that is greedy of gain; which takes away the life of its owners.

¹⁶ To deliver you from the immoral woman, even from the seductress who flatters with her words; ¹⁷ Who forsakes the companion of her youth, and forgets the covenant of her God. ¹⁸ For her house leads unto death, and her paths unto the dead. ¹⁹ None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life.

¹⁹ For my husband is not at home, he has gone on a long journey: ²⁰ He has taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed. ²¹ With her enticing speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she seduced him. ²² He goes after her immediately, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks; ²³ Till an arrow strikes through his liver; as a bird hastens to the snare, and knows not that it is for his life.

⁸ They were as fed horses in the morning: everyone neighed after his neighbor’s wife. ⁹ Shall I not punish for these things? says the LORD: and shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

³ That they may do evil with both hands earnestly, the prince asks, and the judge asks for a bribe; and the great man, he utters his evil desire: so they weave it together.

³⁰ And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.

³² Who knowing the judgment of God, that they who commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

¹¹ And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. ¹² For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. ¹³ But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever does make manifest is light.

²² Lay hands hastily on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep yourself pure.

⁴ Let marriage be held in honor by all, and the bed undefiled: but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.

⁹ For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is pure wickedness; their throat is an open sepulcher; they flatter with their tongue.

⁷ His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.

² They speak vanity every one with his neighbor: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak. ³ The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaks proud things:

³ The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he has ceased to be wise, and to do good. ⁴ He devises mischief upon his bed; he sets himself in a way that is not good; he abhors not evil.

² Your tongue devises evil; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully. ³ You love evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah. ⁴ You love all devouring words, O you deceitful tongue.

¹² For it was not an enemy that reproached me; then I could have borne it: neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me; then I would have hid myself from him:

²¹ The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords.

³ Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words: ⁴ That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not. ⁵ They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they talk of laying snares secretly; they say, Who shall see them?

³ For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue has muttered perverseness. ⁴ None calls for justice, nor does any plead for truth: they trust in empty words, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.

⁵ And they will deceive everyone his neighbor, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity.

² By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break all restraint, and bloodshed touches bloodshed.

¹³ Their throat is an open sepulcher; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: ¹⁴ Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:

⁵ Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasts great things. Behold, how great a forest a little fire kindles! ⁶ And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. ⁷ For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and has been tamed by mankind: ⁸ But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. ⁹ With this bless we God, even the Father; and with this curse we men, who are made after the similitude of God.

⁸ But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

¹⁶ You shall not go up and down as a talebearer among your people: neither shall you take a stand against the life of your neighbor: I am the LORD.

¹⁸ Let the lying lips be put to silence; who speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.

¹⁸ He that hides hatred with lying lips, and he that utters a slander, is a fool.

¹¹ Blessed are you, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

²¹ And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.

⁶⁵ And many other things blasphemously spoke they against him.

¹¹ Even so must their wives be serious, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things.

³ The aged women likewise, that they be in behavior as becomes holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

¹⁰ And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, who accused them before our God day and night.

¹⁴ And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shall you say unto the children of Israel, I AM has sent me unto you.

¹⁹ God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: has he said, and shall he not do it? or has he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

³ Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.

⁸ I will not reprove you for your sacrifices or your burnt offerings, to have been continually before me.

¹¹ And they say, How does God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?

⁸ You have set our iniquities before you, our secret sins in the light of your countenance.

⁷ Yet they say, The LORD shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it. ⁸ Understand, you senseless among the people: and you fools, when will you be wise? ⁹ He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see? ¹⁰ He that chastises the nations, shall he not correct? he that teaches man knowledge, shall he not know? ¹¹ The LORD knows the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.

¹ [To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.] Hold not your peace, O God of my praise; ² For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me: they have spoken against me with a lying tongue. ³ They surrounded me also with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause.

¹ He, that being often reproved hardens his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

¹¹ Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. ¹² Though a sinner does evil a hundred times, and his days are prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, who fear before him:

¹⁴ For God shall bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

¹⁰ Let favor be showed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the LORD.

¹⁵ Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he takes up the isles as fine dust. ¹⁶ And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor its beasts sufficient for a burnt offering. ¹⁷ All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and worthless. ¹⁸ To whom then will you liken God? or what likeness will you compare unto him?

¹⁴ I have long time held my peace; I have been still, and restrained myself: now will I cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once.

¹¹ And of whom have you been afraid or feared, that you have lied, and have not remembered me, nor laid it to your heart? have not I held my peace even of old, and you fear me not?

⁷ The LORD has sworn by the pride of Jacob, Surely I will never forget any of their works.

⁴ Or despise you the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? ⁵ But according to your hardness and unrepentant heart treasure up unto yourself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

⁵ Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

⁹ The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

¹⁹ As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

¹⁸ Of the Rock that begat you you are unmindful, and have forgotten God that formed you.

⁴² They looked, but there was none to save; even unto the LORD, but he answered them not.

¹³ So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite’s hope shall perish:

² Lest they tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.

¹⁷ The wicked shall be turned into sheol, and all the nations that forget God.

⁴ The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in any of his thoughts.

¹⁴ In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also has set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing that will come after him.

¹³ And forget the LORD your maker, that has stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; you have feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor?

³² Can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number.

²⁸ Because he considers, and turns away from all his transgressions that he has committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.

⁶ My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you shall be no priest to me: because you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children.

¹⁴ For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will tear them and go away; I will take them away, and none shall rescue him.

⁸ I will meet them as a bear that is bereaved of her cubs, and will tear the fat of their heart, and there will I devour them like a lion: the wild beast shall tear them.

¹⁴ Therefore the flight shall perish from the swift, and the strong shall not strengthen his power, neither shall the mighty deliver himself:

⁸ And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: which, if it passes through, both treads down, and tears in pieces, and none can deliver.

⁵ Now therefore thus says the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.

¹⁷ And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

¹⁶ And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: ¹⁷ For the great day of his wrath has come; and who shall be able to stand?

⁴ He that has clean hands, and a pure heart; who has not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. ⁵ He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

¹⁴ Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay your vows unto the most High: ¹⁵ And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.

⁹ Surely his salvation is near those that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.

¹³ Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps.

⁹ All nations which you have made shall come and worship before you, O Lord; and shall glorify your name.

¹² I will praise you, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify your name forevermore.

¹⁶ With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation.

² Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD GOD is my strength and my song; he also has become my salvation.

¹⁷ But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: you shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.

⁶ And he said, It is too small a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved ones of Israel: I will also give you for a light to the Gentiles, that you may be my salvation unto the ends of the earth.

⁵ My righteousness is near; my salvation has gone forth, and my arms shall judge the people; the coastlands shall wait upon me, and on my arm shall they trust. ⁶ Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall grow old like a garment, and they that dwell in it shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be forever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.

³⁰ For my eyes have seen your salvation,

¹⁷ If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

³¹ Then said Jesus to those Jews who believed on him, If you continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed; ³² And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

² A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, who gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God always. ³ He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius. ⁴ And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Your prayers and your alms are come up for a memorial before God.

¹⁴ Who shall tell you words, by which you and all your house shall be saved.

²⁶ Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you fears God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.

⁶ That you may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁹ And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to you among the Gentiles, and sing unto your name.

²⁴ And they glorified God in me.

¹⁶ And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.

²⁷ Only let your manner of life be as it becomes the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

¹³ Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him show out of a good life his works with meekness of wisdom.

¹⁵ But as he who has called you is holy, so be holy in all manner of conduct;
