Selah. ⁴ You hold my eyes from closing: I am so troubled that I cannot speak. ⁵ I have considered the days of old, the years of ancient times. ⁶ I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with my own heart: and my spirit made diligent search. ⁷ Will the Lord cast off forever? and will he be favorable no more? ⁸ Is his mercy ceased forever? does his promise fail forevermore? ⁹ Has God forgotten to be gracious? has he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah. ¹⁰ And I said, This is my infirmity: but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High. ¹¹ I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember your wonders of old. ¹² I will meditate also on all your work, and talk of your doings. ¹³ Your way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God? ¹⁴ You are the God that does wonders: you have declared your strength among the people. ¹⁵ You have with your arm redeemed your people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah. ¹⁶ The waters saw you, O God, the waters saw you; they were afraid: the depths also were troubled. ¹⁷ The clouds poured out water: the skies sent out a sound: your arrows also went abroad. ¹⁸ The voice of your thunder was in the heaven: the lightnings lighted up the world: the earth trembled and shook. ¹⁹ Your way is in the sea, and your path in the great waters, and your footsteps are not known. ²⁰ You led your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

⁴¹ And with them Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest that were chosen, who were designated by name, to give thanks to the LORD, because his mercy endures forever; ⁴² And with them Heman and Jeduthun with trumpets and cymbals for those that should sound aloud, and with musical instruments of God. And the sons of Jeduthun were gatekeepers.

³ Of Jeduthun: the sons of Jeduthun; Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Shemei, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hands of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied with a harp, to give thanks and to praise the LORD.

⁶ All these were under the direction of their father in the music in the house of the LORD, with cymbals, lyres, and harps, for the service of the house of God, according to the king’s order to Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman.

⁴ I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.

⁶ This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.

¹ [A Psalm of Asaph.] The mighty God, even the LORD, has spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.

¹⁶ As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me. ¹⁷ Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.

¹ [To the Chief Musician, to jeduthun. A Psalm of David.] Truly my soul waits upon God: from him comes my salvation.

¹ I love the LORD, because he has heard my voice and my supplications. ² Because he has inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.

¹ [A maschil of David. A prayer when he was in the cave.] I cried unto the LORD with my voice; with my voice unto the LORD did I make my supplication. ² I poured out my complaint before him; I showed before him my trouble. ³ When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then you knew my path. In the way in which I walked have they secretly laid a snare for me.

⁷ Then Jacob was greatly afraid and distressed: and he divided the people that were with him, and the flocks, and herds, and the camels, into two bands; ⁸ And said, If Esau comes to the one company, and smites it, then the other company which is left shall escape. ⁹ And Jacob said, O God of my father Abraham, and God of my father Isaac, the LORD who said unto me, Return unto your country, and to your kindred, and I will deal well with you: ¹⁰ I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies, and of all the truth, which you have showed unto your servant; for with my staff I passed over this Jordan; and now I have become two bands. ¹¹ Deliver me, I pray you, from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau: for I fear him, lest he will come and smite me, and the mother with the children. ¹² And you said, I will surely do you good, and make your descendants as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.

²⁸ And he said, Your name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince have you power with God and with men, and have prevailed.

³⁵ And all his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him; but he refused to be comforted; and he said, I will go down into the grave unto my son mourning. Thus his father wept for him.

³ And they said unto him, Thus says Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring them forth. ⁴ It may be the LORD your God will hear all the words of Rab-shakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master has sent to reproach the living God; and will reprove the words which the LORD your God has heard: therefore lift up your prayer for the remnant that are left.

¹⁵ And Hezekiah prayed before the LORD, and said, O LORD God of Israel, who dwells between the cherubim, you are the God, even you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; you have made heaven and earth. ¹⁶ LORD, bow down your ear, and hear: open, LORD, your eyes, and see: and hear the words of Sennacherib, who has sent him to reproach the living God. ¹⁷ Of a truth, LORD, the kings of Assyria have destroyed the nations and their lands, ¹⁸ And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them. ¹⁹ Now therefore, O LORD our God, I beseech you, save us out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you are the LORD God, even you only. ²⁰ Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, Thus says the LORD God of Israel, That which you have prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria I have heard.

²⁸ If there is famine in the land, if there is pestilence, if there is blight, or mildew, locusts, or caterpillars; if their enemies besiege them in the cities of their land; whatsoever plague or whatsoever sickness there is:

¹ When Mordecai perceived all that was done, Mordecai tore his clothes, and put on sackcloth with ashes, and went out into the midst of the city, and cried with a loud and a bitter cry; ² And came even before the king's gate: for none might enter into the king's gate clothed with sackcloth. ³ And in every province, wherever the king's commandment and his decree came, there was great mourning among the Jews, and fasting, and weeping, and wailing; and many lay in sackcloth and ashes. ⁴ So Esther's maids and her eunuchs came and told it to her. ¹³ If you prepare your heart, and stretch out your hands toward him;

² Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; for my bones are troubled. ³ My soul is also greatly troubled: but you, O LORD, how long?

⁶ In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.

³ There is no soundness in my flesh because of your anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin. ⁴ For my iniquities are gone over my head: as a heavy burden they are too heavy for me. ⁵ My wounds are foul and are corrupt because of my foolishness. ⁶ I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long. ⁷ For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh. ⁸ I am feeble and utterly broken: I have groaned by reason of the turmoil of my heart.

¹⁵ And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.

⁶ When I remember you upon my bed, and meditate on you in the night watches.

⁷ In the day of my trouble I will call upon you: for you will answer me.

A maschil of Heman the Ezrahite.] O LORD God of my salvation, I have cried day and night before you: ² Let my prayer come before you: incline your ear unto my cry; ³ For my soul is full of troubles: and my life draws near unto the grave.

¹ [A Prayer of the afflicted, when he is overwhelmed, and pours out his complaint before the LORD.] Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come unto you. ² Hide not your face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline your ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily.

¹ [A song of ascents.] Out of the depths have I cried unto you, O LORD. ² Lord, hear my voice: let your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.

¹⁴ The spirit of a man will sustain him in sickness; but a wounded spirit who can bear?

⁵ Why should you be stricken any more? you will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint. ⁶ From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrefying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither soothed with ointment.

⁹ With my soul have I desired you in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek you early: for when your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

¹⁶ LORD, in trouble have they visited you, they poured out a prayer when your chastening was upon them.

³ For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as a hearth. ⁴ My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread. ⁵ Because of the voice of my groaning my bones cling to my skin. ⁶ I am like a vulture of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert. ⁷ I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top. ⁸ My enemies reproach me all the day; and they that rail against me are sworn against me. ⁹ For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping, ¹⁰ Because of your indignation and your wrath: for you have lifted me up, and cast me down. ¹¹ My days are like a shadow that declines; and I am withered like grass. ¹² But you, O LORD, shall endure forever; and your remembrance unto all generations. ¹³ You shall arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favor her, yea, the set time, is come. ¹⁴ For your servants take pleasure in her stones, and favor the dust thereof. ¹⁵ So the nations shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth your glory. ¹⁶ When the LORD shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory. ¹⁷ He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer. ¹⁸ This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people who shall be created shall praise the LORD. ¹⁹ For he has looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth; ²⁰ To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death; ²¹ To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem; ²² When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD. ²³ He weakened my strength in the way; he shortened my days. ²⁴ I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: your years are throughout all generations. ²⁵ Of old have you laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of your hands. ²⁶ They shall perish, but you shall endure: yea, all of them shall grow old like a garment; as a vesture shall you change them, and they shall be changed: ²⁷ But you are the same, and your years shall have no end. ²⁸ The children of your servants shall continue, and their descendants shall be established before you.

⁴ Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate. ⁵ I remember the days of old; I meditate on all your works; I ponder on the work of your hands.

¹⁷ Be not a terror unto me: you are my hope in the day of evil.

¹⁷ And you have removed my soul far off from peace: I forgot prosperity.

³⁹ Why does a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?

¹ On that night the king could not sleep, and he commanded to be brought the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king.

¹² For God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth. ¹³ You did divide the sea by your strength: you broke the heads of the serpents in the waters. ¹⁴ You broke the heads of leviathan in pieces, and gave him to be food to the people inhabiting the wilderness. ¹⁵ You did break open the fountain and the flood: you dried up mighty rivers. ¹⁶ The day is yours, the night also is yours: you have prepared the light and the sun. ¹⁷ You have set all the borders of the earth: you have made summer and winter. ¹⁸ Remember this, that the enemy has reproached, O LORD, and that the foolish people have blasphemed your name.

⁹ Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Are you not him who has cut Rahab, and wounded the sea monster?

¹⁴ Feed your people with your staff, the flock of your heritage, who dwell alone in the forest, in the midst of Carmel: let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old. ¹⁵ As in the days of your coming out of the land of Egypt will I show unto them marvelous things.

² I will say unto God, Do not condemn me; show me why you contend with me.

¹⁰ But none says, Where is God my maker, who gives songs in the night;

⁴ Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.

⁸ Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.

²³ Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: ²⁴ And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

¹⁶ I communed with my own heart, saying, Lo, I have come to greatness, and have gotten more wisdom than all they that have been before me in Jerusalem: yea, my heart had great experience of wisdom and knowledge.

⁴⁰ Let us search and examine our ways, and turn again to the LORD.

² Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness has come up before me.

²⁴ Though he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholds him with his hand.

⁹ But you have cast off, and put us to shame; and go not forth with our armies.

⁵ How long, LORD? will you be angry forever? shall your jealousy burn like fire?

¹ [To the Chief Musician upon gittith. A Psalm for the Sons of Korah.] LORD, you have been favorable unto your land: you have brought back the captivity of Jacob.

⁵ Will you be angry with us forever? will you draw out your anger to all generations?

³⁸ But you have cast off and abhorred, you have been angry with your anointed.

⁴⁶ How long, LORD? will you hide yourself forever? shall your anger burn like fire?

²⁴ Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? says the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? says the LORD. ²⁵ I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed. ²⁶ How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart;

³¹ For the Lord will not cast off forever: ³² But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.

¹ I say then, Has God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the descendants of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. ² God has not cast away his people whom he foreknew. Do you not know what the scripture says of Elijah? how he makes intercession to God against Israel, saying,

³⁴ After the number of the days in which you searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall you bear your iniquities, even forty years, and you shall know my displeasure.

¹⁹ God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: has he said, and shall he not do it? or has he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

¹¹ When its boughs are withered, they shall be broken off: the women come, and set them on fire: for it is a people of no understanding: therefore he that made them will not have mercy on them, and he that formed them will show them no favor.

¹⁸ Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable, which refuses to be healed? will you be altogether unto me as a deceitful brook, and as waters that fail?

²⁵ But Abraham said, Son, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and you are tormented. ²⁶ And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they who would pass from here to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from there.

⁶ Not as though the word of God has taken no effect. For they are not all Israel, who are of Israel:

⁹ The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

⁶ Remember, O LORD, your tender mercies and your lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.

¹¹ Withhold not your tender mercies from me, O LORD: let your lovingkindness and your truth continually preserve me.

¹ [To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.] Have mercy upon me, O God, according to your lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of your tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

²⁷ Why say you, O Jacob, and speak, O Israel, My way is hidden from the LORD, and my right is passed over by my God?

¹⁴ But Zion said, The LORD has forsaken me, and my Lord has forgotten me. ¹⁵ Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget you.

¹⁵ Look down from heaven, and behold from the habitation of your holiness and of your glory: where is your zeal and your strength, the yearning of your heart and of your mercies toward me? are they restrained?

²⁵ When once the Master of the house is risen up, and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know not where you come from: ²⁶ Then shall you begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in your presence, and you have taught in our streets. ²⁷ But he shall say, I tell you, I know not where you come from; depart from me, all you workers of iniquity. ²⁸ There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.

³² For God has concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

¹⁷ But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother have need, and shuts up his heart of compassion from him, how dwells the love of God in him?

⁶ Your right hand, O LORD, has become glorious in power: your right hand, O LORD, has dashed in pieces the enemy.

²¹ He has not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither has he seen perverseness in Israel: the LORD his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them. ²² God brought them out of Egypt; he has as it were the strength of a wild ox.

³⁴ Or has God ever ventured to go and take him a nation from the midst of another nation, by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by an outstretched arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?

³ Who is he that hides counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered what I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.

²² For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before your eyes: nevertheless you heard the voice of my supplications when I cried unto you.

²² So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before you.

⁵ I have considered the days of old, the years of ancient times.

¹¹ I said in my haste, All men are liars.

¹⁸ And I said, My strength and my hope has perished from the LORD: ¹⁹ Remembering my affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall. ²⁰ My soul has them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me. ²¹ This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. ²² It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. ²³ They are new every morning: great is your faithfulness.

² O LORD, I have heard your speech, and was afraid: O LORD, revive your work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy. ³ God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran. You did divide the earth with rivers. ¹⁰ The mountains saw you, and they trembled: the overflowing of the water passed by: the deep uttered its voice, and lifted up its hands on high. ¹¹ The sun and moon stood still in their habitation: at the light of your arrows they went, and at the shining of your glittering spear. ¹² You did march through the land in indignation, you did trample the nations in anger. ¹³ You went forth for the salvation of your people, even for salvation with your anointed; you wounded the head out of the house of the wicked, by laying bare from the foundation to the neck. ²⁴ And immediately the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help my unbelief.

And he went in to tarry with them. ³⁰ And it came to pass, as he sat to eat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and broke it, and gave to them. ³¹ And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight. ³² And they said one to another, Did not our hearts burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

¹¹ Who is like unto you, O LORD, among the gods? who is like you, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?

³¹ For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.

⁴ One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple.

² To see your power and your glory, so as I have seen you in the sanctuary.

¹⁸ To whom then will you liken God? or what likeness will you compare unto him?

²⁵ To whom then will you liken me, or shall I be equal? says the Holy One.

¹⁴ And it shall be when your son asks you in time to come, saying, What is this? that you shall say unto him, By strength of hand the LORD brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage:

¹⁸ Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only does wondrous things.

⁶ Therefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm, and with great judgments:

²⁶ I prayed therefore unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, destroy not your people and your inheritance, which you have redeemed through your greatness, which you have brought forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand.

²⁹ Yet they are your people and your inheritance, which you brought out by your mighty power and by your outstretched arm.

² Remember your congregation, which you have purchased of old; the tribe of your inheritance, which you have redeemed; this mount Zion, where you have dwelt.

⁴ LORD, when you went out of Seir, when you marched out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled, and the heavens dropped, the clouds also dropped water.

¹⁵ And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and vanquished them.

¹⁴ Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and vanquished them.

⁸ The earth shook, the heavens also dropped rain at the presence of God: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel. ⁹ You, O God, did send a plentiful rain, by which you did confirm your inheritance, when it was weary.

³³ To him that rides upon the heaven of heavens, which were of old; lo, he does send out his voice, and that a mighty voice.

⁶ Cast forth lightning, and scatter them: shoot out your arrows, and destroy them.

¹¹ The sun and moon stood still in their habitation: at the light of your arrows they went, and at the shining of your glittering spear.

¹⁶ And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceedingly loud; so that all the people that were in the camp trembled.

¹⁸ And mount Sinai was completely in smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke of it ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.

⁸ Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was angry.

¹⁴ The LORD thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice.

¹ At this also my heart trembles, and is moved out of its place. ² Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goes out of his mouth. ³ He directs it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth. ⁴ After it a voice roars: he thunders with the voice of his excellency; and he will not restrain them when his voice is heard. ⁵ God thunders marvelously with his voice; great things does he, which we cannot comprehend.

⁷ Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was angry.

³ The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thunders: the LORD is upon many waters. ⁴ The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty. ⁵ The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars; yea, the LORD breaks the cedars of Lebanon. ⁶ He makes them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young wild ox. ⁷ The voice of the LORD divides the flames of fire. ⁸ The voice of the LORD shakes the wilderness; the LORD shakes the wilderness of Kadesh. ⁹ The voice of the LORD makes the hinds to calve, and strips bare the forests: and in his temple does every one speak of his glory.

⁴ His lightnings light up the world: the earth saw, and trembled.

⁷ At your rebuke they fled; at the voice of your thunder they hastened away.

⁴ And his brightness was as the light; he had rays flashing out of his hand: and there was his power hidden.

⁵¹ And, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks were split;

² And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

¹⁹ And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his covenant: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

¹ And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was made bright with his glory.

¹¹ And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

²⁸ And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.

¹¹ And you did divide the sea before them, so that they went through the midst of the sea on the dry land; and their persecutors you threw into the deep, as a stone into the mighty waters.

¹⁰ The LORD sits upon the flood; yea, the LORD sits as King forever.

² Clouds and darkness are round about him: righteousness and justice are the habitation of his throne.

³ The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD has his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet. ⁴ He rebukes the sea, and makes it dry, and dries up all the rivers: Bashan withers, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon fades.

³³ O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

²¹ And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them in the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:

¹⁹ And the angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:

⁵² But made his own people to go forth like sheep, and guided them in the wilderness like a flock.

¹¹ Then he remembered the days of old, Moses, and his people, saying, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? where is he that put his holy Spirit within them? ¹² That led them by the right hand of Moses with his glorious arm, dividing the water before them, to make himself an everlasting name?

¹³ And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.

³⁵ This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made you a ruler and a judge? the same did God send to be a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel who appeared to him in the bush. ³⁶ He brought them out, after he had showed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red sea, and in the wilderness forty years.
