¹ I commend unto you Phebe our sister, who is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea:

⁵⁰ For whosoever shall do the will of my Father who is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

³⁰ But he shall receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brothers, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

³ And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, who ministered unto him of their substance.

¹⁸ And Paul after this tarried there yet a good while, and then took his leave of the brethren, and sailed from there into Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila; having shaved his head in Cenchrea: for he had a vow.

¹ Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you?

² The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity.

⁹ Let not a widow be put on the list under threescore years old, having been the wife of one man, ¹⁰ Well reported of for good works; if she has brought up children, if she has lodged strangers, if she has washed the saints' feet, if she has relieved the afflicted, if she has diligently followed every good work.

¹⁵ If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,

²² Seeing you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto sincere love of the brethren, see that you love one another with a pure heart fervently: ²³ Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which lives and abides forever.
