⁸ Then* they heard the sound of Yahweh God walking in the garden _⌊at the windy time of day_⌋.* And the man* and his wife hid themselves from the presence of Yahweh God among the trees of the garden.

¹⁰ And he replied,* "I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid because I am naked, so I hid myself."

³³ Has a people ever heard the voice of God speaking from the midst of the fire, just as you heard it, and lived?

²⁵ And so then why shall we die, for this great fire will consume us if _⌊we continue_⌋* to hear the voice of Yahweh our God any longer, and so we shall die?

¹⁴ For Yahweh your God is walking about in the midst of your camp to deliver you and _⌊to hand your enemies over to you before you_⌋,* and so let your camp be holy, so that he shall not see in it _⌊anything indecent_⌋,* and he shall turn away _⌊from going with you_⌋.*

¹⁴ Thick clouds are a covering for him, so that he does not see; and he walks about on the dome of heaven.'

³³ _⌊Have I concealed_⌋* my transgressions as other human beings to hide my iniquity in my bosom

²¹ "Indeed, his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he sees all his steps. ²² There is no darkness, and there is no deep shadow where instigators of mischief might hide themselves.

¹ Then* Yahweh answered Job from the storm, and he said,

¹ For the music director. Of David. A psalm.*
O Yahweh, you have searched me, and you know me. ² You know my sitting down and my rising up. You understand my thought from afar. ³ You search out* my wandering and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. ⁴ For there is not a word yet on my tongue, but behold, O Yahweh, you know it completely. ⁵ You barricade me behind and in front, and set your hand upon me. ⁶ Such knowledge is too wonderful for me. It is set high; I cannot prevail against it. ⁷ Where I can go from your Spirit, or where can I flee from your presence? ⁸ If I ascend to heaven, there you are, and if I make my bed in Sheol, look! There you are. ⁹ If I lift up the wings of the dawn, and I alight on the far side of the sea, ¹⁰ even there your hand would lead me, and your right hand would hold me fast. ¹¹ And if I should say, "Surely darkness will cover me, and the light around me will be as night," ¹² even the darkness is not too dark for you,* and the night shines as the day— the darkness and the light are alike for you.

³ In every place, the eyes of Yahweh keep watch over the evil and the good.

²⁴ Or can a person hide himself in secret places and I cannot see him?" _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh. "Do I not fill up the heaven and the earth?" _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh.

² If they dig into Sheol, from there my hand will take them, and even if they climb up to heaven, from there I will bring them down. ³ And even if they hide themselves on the top of Carmel, from there I will search and will take them, and even if they hide from before my eyes at the bottom of the sea, from there I will command the sea serpent and it will bite them.

³ But Jonah set out to flee toward Tarshish from _⌊the presence of_⌋* Yahweh. And he went down to Joppa and found a merchant ship going to Tarshish, and paid her fare, and went on board her to go with them toward Tarshish from _⌊the presence of_⌋* Yahweh.

⁹ And he said to them, "I am a Hebrew, and I fear Yahweh, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the dry land." ¹⁰ Then the men _⌊were greatly afraid_⌋,* and they said to him, "What is this you have done?" because they* knew that he was fleeing _⌊from the presence of_⌋* Yahweh (because he had told them).
