¹ Then* Bildad the Shuhite answered and _⌊said_⌋,* ² "Domination and dread are with him who makes peace in his high heavens. ³ Is there a number to his troops? And upon whom does his light not rise? ⁴ "Indeed,* how can a human being be righteous before God? And how will he who is born of a woman be pure? ⁵ Look, even the moon _⌊is not bright_⌋,* and the stars are not pure in his sight. ⁶ _⌊How much less_⌋* for a human being who is a maggot, and _⌊a human_⌋* who is a worm?"

¹¹ To you, O Yahweh, is the greatness and the power and the splendor and the glory and the strength, for everything in the heavens and in the earth. Yours, O Yahweh, is the kingdom and exaltation over all as head! ¹² And wealth and glory are from you, and you rule over all. And in your hand is power and might. And in your hand is power to make great and to give strength to all.

² "Truly I know that it is so, but* how can a human being be just before God? ³ If he wants to contend with him, he cannot answer him one time in a thousand. ⁴ He is wise in* heart and mighty in* strength; who has resisted him and succeeded?* ⁵ "He is the one who moves mountains, and they do not know how, who overturns them in his anger. ⁶ He is the one who shakes the earth from its place, and its pillars tremble. ⁷ He is the one who commands the sun, and it does not rise, _⌊and he seals up the stars_⌋.* ⁸ He is the one who alone stretches out the heavens and who tramples on the waves of the sea. ⁹ He is the one who made the Bear and Orion, the Pleiades and the constellations of the south. ¹⁰ He is the one who does great things _⌊beyond understanding_⌋* and marvelous things _⌊beyond number_⌋.*

⁹ Or do you have an arm like God, and can you thunder with a voice like his? ¹⁰ Adorn* yourself with pride and dignity, and clothe yourself with splendor. ¹¹ Pour out the overflowing of your anger, and look at all the proud, and humble them. ¹² Look at all the proud, humble them, and tread down the wicked _⌊where they stand_⌋.* ¹³ Hide them in the dust together; bind their faces in the grave. ¹⁴ And I will also praise you, that your own right hand can save you.

¹ Yahweh is king; let the peoples tremble. He sits enthroned* between the cherubim. Let the earth shake. ² Yahweh is great in Zion, and he is exalted over all the peoples. ³ Let them praise your great and fearful name. He is holy.

¹⁵ For thus says the high and lofty one who resides forever, and whose name is holy:
"I reside in a high and holy place, and with the _⌊contrite_⌋* and humble of spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the _⌊contrite_⌋.*

¹⁹ creating fruit of lips. Peace, peace to the far and near," says Yahweh, "and I will heal him.

⁶ There is none like you, O Yahweh, you are great and your name is great in might. ⁷ Who would not revere you, O king of the nations? For you it is fitting. For among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms,* there is none like you.

³⁴ "But at the end of _⌊that period_⌋,* I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted up my eyes to heaven, and then my reason returned to me; and I blessed the Most High and _⌊the one who lives forever_⌋* I praised and I honored.
"For his sovereignty is an everlasting sovereignty, and his kingdom continues from generation to generation. ³⁵ And all the dwellers of the earth are regarded as nothing, and he does _⌊according to_⌋* his desire in the host of heaven and among the dwellers of earth, and there is not one who can hold back his hand, or _⌊ask him_⌋,* 'What are you doing?' ³⁶ "_⌊At that time_⌋* my reason returned to me, and also the glory of my kingdom and my majesty and splendor returned to me, and my advisers and my lords* searched me out, and I was established over my kingdom and abundant greatness was added to me. ³⁷ Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and honor the king of heaven, for all his works are truth,* and his ways are justice and that he is able to humble those who walk in pride."

⁹ Blessed are the peacemakers, because they will be called sons of God.

¹³ And do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.*

¹⁸ And Jesus approached and* spoke to them, saying, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

¹⁸ And all these things are from God, who has reconciled us to himself through Christ, and who has given us the ministry of reconciliation, ¹⁹ namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. ²⁰ Therefore we are ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as if* God were imploring you through us. We beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. ²¹ He made the one who did not know sin to be sin on our behalf, in order that we could become the righteousness of God in him.

²⁰ which he has worked* in Christ, raising* him from the dead and seating him* at his right hand in the heavenly places, ²¹ above all rule and authority and power and lordship and every name named, not only in this age but also in the coming one,

¹⁶ and might reconcile both in one body to God through the cross, killing the enmity in himself.* ¹⁷ And coming, he proclaimed the good news of peace to you who were far away and peace to the ones who were near,

²⁰ and through him to reconcile all things to himself, by* making peace through the blood of his cross, through him, whether things on earth or things in heaven.

²⁵ to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, power, and authority before all time and now and for all eternity. Amen.

¹⁶ And they said to the mountains and to the rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of the one who is seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb,

³ And God said, "Let there be light!" And there was light. ⁴ And God saw the light, that it was good, and God caused there to be a separation between the light and between the darkness. ⁵ And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.

¹⁴ And God said, "Let there be lights* in the vaulted dome* of heaven* _⌊to separate day from night_⌋,* and let them be as signs and for appointed times, and for days and years, ¹⁵ and they shall be as lights* in the vaulted dome* of heaven* to give light on the earth." And it was so. ¹⁶ And God made two lights,* the greater light* to rule* the day and the smaller light* to rule* the night, and the stars.

¹² "Have you _⌊ever in your life_⌋* commanded the morning? Have you made the dawn know its place, ¹³ to take hold of the earth's skirts so that* the wicked might be shaken off from it?

⁴ Yet in all the world their line* goes out, and their words to the end of the world. In them* he has pitched a tent for the sun, ⁵ and it is like a bridegroom who comes out of his bridal chamber. It is glad like a strong man to run its course. ⁶ Its rising is from one* end of the heavens and its circuit to the other end* of them; and nothing is hidden from its heat.

²⁰ Bless Yahweh, you his angels, you mighty heroes who do his word by _⌊obeying_⌋* the sound of his word. ²¹ Bless Yahweh, all you his hosts, you his attendants who do his will.

² Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his hosts.* ³ Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, all stars of light. ⁴ Praise him, _⌊highest heavens_⌋,* and waters above the heavens.

²⁶ Lift your eyes up on high, and see! Who created these? The one who brings out their host by number. He calls all them by name. Because he is great of power and mighty of power, no man is missing.

¹⁰ A stream of fire issued forth and flowed _⌊from his presence_⌋;* thousands upon thousands served him and ten thousand upon ten thousand stood before him. The judge sat, and the books were opened.

⁴⁵ in order that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven, because he causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust.

⁵³ Or do you think that I cannot call upon my Father, and he would put at my disposal at once more than twelve legions of angels?

⁴ In him was life, and the life was the light of humanity.*

⁹ The true light, who gives light to every person, was coming into the world.

¹⁷ Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of change.

¹¹ And I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and of the living creatures and of the elders, and their number was ten thousand times ten thousand and thousands times thousands,

¹⁷ 'Can a human being be more righteous than God, or can a man be more pure than his Maker? ¹⁸ Look, he does not trust in his servants and he charges his angels with error. ¹⁹ How much more dwellers in clay houses, whose foundation is in the dust? They are crushed like a moth.

² "Truly I know that it is so, but* how can a human being be just before God?

³ Even on such a one you fix your eyes, and you bring me into judgment with you. ⁴ "Who can bring a clean thing from an unclean thing? No one!*

¹⁴ "What is a human being, that he can be clean, or* that one born of a woman can be righteous? ¹⁵ Look, he does not trust his holy ones, and the heavens are not clean in his eyes. ¹⁶ _⌊How much less_⌋* he who is abominable and corrupt,* a man drinking wickedness like water.

⁵ Behold, in iniquity I was born, and in sin my mother conceived me.

³ If you, O Yah,* should _⌊keep track of_⌋* iniquities, O Lord, who could stand?

² And do not enter into judgment with your servant, because no one alive is righteous before you.

¹ " 'On that day a well will be opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, _⌊to cleanse them from sin and from impurity_⌋.*

¹⁹ Now we know that whatever the law says, it speaks to those under the law, in order that every mouth may be closed and the whole world may become accountable to God. ²⁰ For by the works of the law _⌊no person will be declared righteous_⌋* before him, for through the law comes knowledge of sin.

¹ Therefore, because we* have been declared righteous by faith, we have* peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

¹¹ And some of you were these things, but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus* and by the Spirit of our God.

³ among whom also we all formerly lived in the desires of our flesh, doing the will* of the flesh and of the mind, and we were children of wrath* by nature, as also the rest of them were.

⁹ If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, so that he will forgive us our* sins and will cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

⁵ and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead and the ruler of the kings of the earth.
To the one who loves us and released us from our sins by his blood

¹⁵ Look, he does not trust his holy ones, and the heavens are not clean in his eyes.

²⁶ if I looked at the sun when it shone or* at the moon moving in splendor,

²³ And the full moon will be ashamed and the sun will be ashamed, for Yahweh of hosts will rule on _⌊Mount Zion_⌋* and in Jerusalem, and before his elders in glory.

¹⁹ The sun shall no longer be your light by day, and for bright light the moon shall not give you light, but* Yahweh will be your everlasting light, and your God your glory. ²⁰ Your sun shall no longer go down, and your moon shall not _⌊wane_⌋,* for Yahweh himself will be your everlasting light, and your days of mourning shall come to an end.

¹⁰ For indeed what had been glorified has not been glorified in this case, on account of the glory that surpasses it.

²⁷ Then Abraham answered and said, "Look, please, I was bold to speak to my Lord, but I am dust and ashes.

¹⁹ How much more dwellers in clay houses, whose foundation is in the dust? They are crushed like a moth.

¹⁷ "What is a human being that you make him great and that _⌊you fix your mind on him_⌋,*

⁶ But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by humankind and despised by people.

¹⁴ You must not fear, O worm of Jacob; people of Israel, I myself, I will help you," _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh, "and your redeemer is the holy one of Israel.
