² "My servant Moses is dead. Get up and cross the Jordan, you and all this people, into the land that I am giving to them, to the _⌊Israelites_⌋.*

¹⁶ "Let Yahweh, the God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the community ¹⁷ who will go out before them and will come in before them, and who will lead them out and bring them in, so the community of Yahweh will not be like a flock that does not have a shepherd." ¹⁸ Then Yahweh said to Moses, "Take Joshua son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, and place your hand on him. ¹⁹ Have him stand before Eleazar the priest and before the entire community, and _⌊commission him_⌋* _⌊in their sight_⌋.* ²⁰ You will give to him from your authority so that the entire community of Israel will _⌊obey him_⌋.* ²¹ He will stand before Eleazar the priest, who will ask for him by the decision* of the Urim before Yahweh. On _⌊his command_⌋* they will go out, and at _⌊his command_⌋* they will come in, both he and all of the _⌊Israelites_⌋* with him, the entire community."

²⁸ Now instruct Joshua and support him and encourage him because he himself* will cross over before this people and enable them to inherit the land that you will see.'

⁷ Then Moses summoned Joshua, and he said to him _⌊in the presence of all Israel_⌋,* "Be strong and be courageous, for you will go with this people into the land that Yahweh swore to their ancestors* to give to them, and you will give it to them as an inheritance.

¹ After the death of Moses the servant of Yahweh, Yahweh said to Joshua son of Nun, the assistant* of Moses, saying,

¹¹ "Pass through the midst of the camp and command the people: 'Prepare your provisions;* _⌊in_⌋* three days you are to cross the Jordan to go possess the land that Yahweh your God is giving you to possess.'"

¹ Look! here is my servant; I hold him, my chosen one, in whom my soul delights. I have _⌊put_⌋* my spirit on him; he will bring justice forth to the nations.

⁵ And Moses was faithful in all his house as a servant, for a testimony to the things that would be spoken, ⁶ but Christ was faithful* as a son over his house, whose house we are, if* we hold fast to our confidence and the hope we can be proud of.

²³ And indeed many _⌊have become_⌋* priests, because they were prevented by death from continuing in office, ²⁴ but he, because he continues _⌊forever_⌋*, holds the priesthood permanently.
