¹ Then* Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, ² "Speak to Aaron and to his sons and to all the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* and you shall say to them, 'This is the word that Yahweh has commanded, saying, ³ "_⌊Any man_⌋* from the house of Israel who slaughters an ox or a sheep or a goat in the camp or who slaughters it _⌊outside the camp_⌋* ⁴ and he does not bring it to the tent of assembly's entrance to present an offering to Yahweh _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh's tabernacle, then* that man shall be accounted bloodguilty—he has poured out blood, and that man shall be cut off from the midst of his people. ⁵ This is so that the _⌊Israelites_⌋* may bring their sacrifices that they are sacrificing _⌊in the open field_⌋* and bring* them for Yahweh to the tent of assembly's entrance to the priest, and they shall sacrifice fellowship offerings for Yahweh with them. ⁶ And the priest shall sprinkle the blood on Yahweh's altar at the tent of assembly's entrance, and he shall _⌊burn_⌋* the fat as an appeasing fragrance for Yahweh. ⁷ And _⌊they may no longer sacrifice_⌋* their sacrifices to the goat-idols after which they were prostituting. This is _⌊a lasting statute_⌋* for them _⌊throughout_⌋* their generations." ¹¹ _⌊and then_⌋* at the place that Yahweh your God will choose, to let his name dwell there, there you shall bring all the things I am commanding you, your burnt offerings and your sacrifices, your tithes and _⌊your donations_⌋,* and all of the choice things, your votive gifts that you vow to Yahweh. ¹² And you shall rejoice _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh your God, you and your sons and your daughters and your slaves and your slave women and the Levite who is in your _⌊towns_⌋,* because there is not for him a plot of ground and an inheritance with you. ¹³ "Take care for yourself so that you do not offer your burnt offerings at just any place that you happen to see, ¹⁴ _⌊but only_⌋* at the place that Yahweh will choose among one of your tribes; there you shall offer your burnt offerings, and there you shall do all the things that I am commanding you. ¹⁵ "But _⌊whenever you desire_⌋* you may slaughter, and you may eat meat according to the blessing of Yahweh your God that he has given to you in all of your _⌊towns_⌋;* the unclean and the clean may eat it just as they would the gazelle and as the deer.

²⁰ "When Yahweh your God enlarges your territory just as he has _⌊promised_⌋* to you, and you say 'I want to eat some meat,' _⌊because you want it_⌋,* _⌊whenever you desire_⌋* you may eat meat. ²¹ If the place that* Yahweh your God will choose to put his name there is too far from you, and you slaughter any of your herd and any of your flock that Yahweh has given to you just as I have commanded you, then you may eat whenever you desire in your _⌊towns_⌋.* ²² Surely just as the gazelle and the deer is eaten, so both the unclean and the clean together may eat it.

²⁶ Only your holy objects _⌊that are yours_⌋* and your votive gifts you must carry and you must bring to the place that Yahweh will choose. ²⁷ And you shall offer your burnt offerings, the flesh and the blood on the altar of Yahweh your God, and the blood of your sacrifices you shall pour out on the altar of Yahweh your God, but the meat you may eat.

¹⁴ And as for any uncircumcised male who has not circumcised the flesh of his foreskin, that person shall be cut off from his* people. He has broken my covenant.

¹⁵ You will eat unleavened bread for seven days. Surely on the first day you shall remove yeast from your houses, because anyone who eats food with yeast from the first day until the seventh day—that person will be cut off from Israel.

¹⁹ For seven days yeast must not be found in your houses, because _⌊anyone eating food with yeast_⌋* will be cut off from the community of Israel—whether an alien or a native of the land.

³ If his offering is a burnt offering from the cattle,* then he must present* an unblemished male; he must present it at the door of the tent of assembly for his acceptance _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh.

¹⁸ And if indeed some of the meat of his fellowship offerings' sacrifice is eaten on the third day, it will not be accepted; it will not be considered of benefit for the one who presented it—it shall be unclean meat, and the person* who eats it shall bear his guilt.

¹⁰ And if there is _⌊anyone_⌋* from the house of Israel or* from the alien who is dwelling in their midst who eats any blood, then* I will set my face against the person who eats the blood, and I will cut him off from among his people.

¹⁴ Indeed,* the life of all flesh, its blood, is in its life, so* I said to the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* 'You may not eat the blood of any flesh, because the life of all flesh is its blood; anyone who eats it must be cut off.'

²⁹ Indeed, anyone who does any of these detestable things, even* those persons who do so shall be cut off from the midst of their people.

³ And I myself will set my face against that man, and I will cut him off from the midst of his people, because he has given _⌊some of_⌋* his offspring to Molech, so that _⌊he makes my sanctuary unclean_⌋* and profanes* _⌊my holy name_⌋.*

¹⁶ As for* a woman who approaches any animal to copulate with it, you shall kill* the woman and the animal; they shall surely be put to death—their blood is on them.

¹⁸ As for* a man who lies with a menstruating woman, he exposes* her nakedness—her source he exposes and she herself reveals her blood's source—both of them shall be cut off from the midst of their people.

³⁰ But the one _⌊who acts presumptuously_⌋* from among the native or alien blasphemes against Yahweh, and that person must be cut off from the midst of the people. ³¹ Because he despised the word of Yahweh and broke his command, that person will be surely cut off and bear the guilt.'"

⁵ _⌊But only_⌋* to the place that Yahweh your God will choose from all of your tribes to place his name there as his dwelling shall you seek, and there you shall go. ⁶ And you shall bring there your burnt offerings and your sacrifices and your tithes and _⌊your donations_⌋* and your votive gifts and your freewill offerings and the firstling of your herd and your flock. ⁷ And you shall eat there _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh your God, and you shall rejoice _⌊in all your endeavors_⌋,* you and your family in which Yahweh your God has blessed you. ⁸ "You must not do just as we are doing here _⌊today_⌋,* _⌊each according to all that is right in his eyes_⌋.* ⁹ For you have not come up to now to the resting place and to the inheritance that Yahweh your God is giving to you. ¹⁰ But you will cross the Jordan, and you will settle in the land that Yahweh your God is giving you as an inheritance, and he will give rest to you from all your enemies from all around, and you will live securely, ¹¹ _⌊and then_⌋* at the place that Yahweh your God will choose, to let his name dwell there, there you shall bring all the things I am commanding you, your burnt offerings and your sacrifices, your tithes and _⌊your donations_⌋,* and all of the choice things, your votive gifts that you vow to Yahweh. ¹² And you shall rejoice _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh your God, you and your sons and your daughters and your slaves and your slave women and the Levite who is in your _⌊towns_⌋,* because there is not for him a plot of ground and an inheritance with you. ¹³ "Take care for yourself so that you do not offer your burnt offerings at just any place that you happen to see, ¹⁴ _⌊but only_⌋* at the place that Yahweh will choose among one of your tribes; there you shall offer your burnt offerings, and there you shall do all the things that I am commanding you. ¹⁵ "But _⌊whenever you desire_⌋* you may slaughter, and you may eat meat according to the blessing of Yahweh your God that he has given to you in all of your _⌊towns_⌋;* the unclean and the clean may eat it just as they would the gazelle and as the deer. ¹⁶ Only the blood you must not eat, but on the ground you must pour it like water. ¹⁷ You are not allowed to eat in your _⌊towns_⌋* the tithe of your grain and your wine and your olive oil and the firstborn of your herd and your flock and all of your votive gifts that you vowed and your freewill offering and _⌊your donations_⌋.* ¹⁸ But only _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh your God you shall eat it, at the place that Yahweh your God will choose,* you and your son and your daughter and your slave and your slave woman and the Levite who is in your _⌊towns_⌋,* and you must rejoice _⌊before_⌋* your God _⌊in all your undertakings_⌋.* ¹⁹ _⌊Take care_⌋* so that you do not neglect the Levite all of your days on your land. ²⁰ "When Yahweh your God enlarges your territory just as he has _⌊promised_⌋* to you, and you say 'I want to eat some meat,' _⌊because you want it_⌋,* _⌊whenever you desire_⌋* you may eat meat. ²¹ If the place that* Yahweh your God will choose to put his name there is too far from you, and you slaughter any of your herd and any of your flock that Yahweh has given to you just as I have commanded you, then you may eat whenever you desire in your _⌊towns_⌋.*

² Happy is a person to whom Yahweh does not impute iniquity and in whose spirit there is not deceit.

³ The one who slaughters a bull strikes a man; the one who slaughters a lamb for sacrifice breaks the neck of a dog. The one who offers an offering, the blood of swine; the one who offers frankincense blesses an idol. Indeed, they themselves have chosen their ways, and their soul delights in their abhorrence.

⁴⁰ "For on _⌊my holy mountain_⌋,* on the mountain of the height of Israel," _⌊declares_⌋* the Lord Yahweh, "there all of the house of Israel will serve me, all of them,* in the land. I will take pleasure in them, and there I will accept your contributions and the best of your portions with all of your holy objects.

⁷ Then Jesus said to them* again, "Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.

⁹ I am the door. If anyone enters through me, he will be saved, and will come in and will go out and will find pasture.

⁶ Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

⁶ just as David also speaks about the blessing of the person to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:

¹³ For until the law, sin was in the world, but sin is not charged to one's account when there* is no law.

²⁰ Now the law came in as a side issue, in order that the trespass could increase, but where sin increased, grace was present in greater abundance,

¹⁸ But if in anything he has caused you loss or owes you anything, _⌊charge this to my account_⌋*. ¹⁹ I, Paul, write this with my own hand: I will pay it back, lest I mention to you that _⌊you owe me even your very self besides_⌋*.

³³ And he* planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there he called on the name of Yahweh, _⌊the everlasting God_⌋.*

² And he said, "Take your son, your only child, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains where* I will tell you."

¹³ And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked. And behold, a ram was caught in the thicket by his horns. And Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it as a burnt offering in place of his son.

⁵⁴ And Jacob sacrificed a sacrifice on the hill, and he called his kinsmen to eat the meal.* And they ate the meal* and spent the night on the hill.

⁵ And he sent young men from the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* and they offered burnt offerings, and they sacrificed sacrifices as fellowship offerings to Yahweh using bulls.

¹ " 'Now if* his offering is a sacrifice of fellowship offering, if he brings it from the cattle,* whether male or female, he must bring it without defect before Yahweh. ² He* must lay his hand on the head of his offering and slaughter it at the entrance of the tent of assembly, and Aaron's sons shall sprinkle the blood on the altar all around. ³ He shall present* from the sacrifice of the fellowship offering an offering made by fire for Yahweh consisting of* the fat covering the inner parts* and all the fat that is on the inner parts,* ⁴ the two kidneys,* and the fat that is on them, which is on the loins, and he must remove the lobe on the liver in addition to the kidneys. ⁵ Aaron's sons shall turn it to smoke on the altar in addition to the burnt offering that is on the wood, which is on the fire; it is an offering made by fire as an appeasing fragrance for Yahweh. ⁶ " 'But if his offering for a sacrifice of fellowship offering for Yahweh is from the flock,* he must bring a male or a female without defect. ⁷ If he brings a sheep as his offering, then* he shall present it before Yahweh, ⁸ and he shall lay his hand on the head of his offering, and he shall slaughter it before the tent of assembly, and Aaron's sons shall sprinkle its blood on the altar all around. ⁹ He shall present* from the sacrifice of the fellowship offering an offering made by fire for Yahweh: he must remove its fat, the entire fat tail near the tailbone, and the fat covering the inner parts* and all the fat that is on the inner parts,* ¹⁰ the two kidneys,* and the fat that is on them, which is on the loins, and he must remove the lobe on the liver in addition to the kidneys. ¹¹ The priest* shall turn it into smoke on the altar as a food offering made by fire for Yahweh. ¹² " 'And* if his offering is a goat, then* he shall bring it before Yahweh, ¹³ and he shall lay his hand on the head of his offering, and he shall slaughter it before the tent of assembly, and Aaron's sons shall sprinkle its blood on the altar all around. ¹⁴ He shall present* his offering from it as an offering made by fire for Yahweh: the fat covering the inner parts* and all the fat that is on the inner parts,* ¹⁵ the two kidneys,* and the fat that is on them, which is on the loins, and he must remove the lobe on the liver in addition to the kidneys. ¹⁶ The priest* shall turn them into smoke on the altar as a food offering;* all the fat is an offering made by fire as an appeasing fragrance for Yahweh. ¹⁷ This is* a lasting statute for your generations in all your dwellings: you must not eat any fat or any blood.'"

¹¹ " 'And this is the regulation of the fellowship offerings that he must present to Yahweh: ¹² If he presents it for thanksgiving, in addition to the thanksgiving sacrifice he shall present ring-shaped unleavened bread mixed with oil and unleavened bread wafers smeared with oil and well-mixed ring-shaped bread cakes of finely milled flour mixed with oil. ¹³ In addition to ring-shaped cakes of bread with yeast, he must present his grain* offering together with* his sacrifice of thanksgiving peace offerings. ¹⁴ And he shall present one of each kind of grain* offering as a contribution for Yahweh; _⌊it belongs to_⌋* the priest who sprinkles the fellowship offerings' blood. ¹⁵ And the meat of the sacrifice of his thanksgiving fellowship offerings must be eaten on the day of his offering; he must not leave it until morning. ¹⁶ " 'But* if his sacrifice is for a vow or as a freewill offering, it must be eaten on the day of his presenting his sacrifice, and on the next day the remainder* from it may be eaten, ¹⁷ but* the remainder from the sacrifice's meat must be burned up in the fire on the third day. ¹⁸ And if indeed some of the meat of his fellowship offerings' sacrifice is eaten on the third day, it will not be accepted; it will not be considered of benefit for the one who presented it—it shall be unclean meat, and the person* who eats it shall bear his guilt. ¹⁹ And the meat that touches anything unclean must not be eaten; it must be burned with fire, and as for the clean* meat, anyone who is clean may eat the meat. ²⁰ And the person* who eats meat from the fellowship offerings' sacrifice, which is for Yahweh, and whose uncleanness is upon him—that person* shall be cut off from his people. ²¹ And when a person* touches anything unclean, whether human uncleanness or an unclean animal or any unclean detestable thing, and he eats from the meat of the fellowship offerings' sacrifice, which is for Yahweh, then* that person* shall be cut off from his people.'"

² You must completely demolish all of the places there where they served their gods, that is, the nations whom you are about to dispossess, on the high mountains, and on the hills and under each leafy green tree.*

²³ They also built for themselves high places and stone pillars and sacred poles on every high hill and under every green tree.

⁴ He sacrificed and offered incense on the high places, on the hills, and under every green tree.

¹⁰ They set up for themselves stone pillars and poles of Asherah worship on every high hill and under every green tree.

⁴ And he sacrificed and burned incense at the high places, on the hilltops, and under every flourishing tree.

²⁸ And I brought them to the land that _⌊I swore_⌋* to give* to them, and they saw every high hill and every leafy tree, and they offered their sacrifices, and they presented there the provocation of their offering, and they gave there their fragrant incense offering, and they poured out their libations there.

⁹ Slanderous men are _⌊among you_⌋* to shed blood, and they, _⌊among you_⌋,* eat upon the mountains; they do wickedness in the midst of you.

¹³ And you will take and turn into smoke on the altar all the fat covering the inner parts and the lobe on the liver and the two kidneys and the fat that is on them.

¹⁸ And you will turn into smoke on the altar all of the ram; it is a burnt offering for Yahweh; it is a smell of appeasement, an offering by fire for Yahweh.

² He* must lay his hand on the head of his offering and slaughter it at the entrance of the tent of assembly, and Aaron's sons shall sprinkle the blood on the altar all around.

⁵ Aaron's sons shall turn it to smoke on the altar in addition to the burnt offering that is on the wood, which is on the fire; it is an offering made by fire as an appeasing fragrance for Yahweh.

⁸ and he shall lay his hand on the head of his offering, and he shall slaughter it before the tent of assembly, and Aaron's sons shall sprinkle its blood on the altar all around.

³¹ He* must remove all of its fat _⌊just as_⌋* the fat was removed from* the fellowship offerings' sacrifice, and the priest shall turn it into smoke on the altar as an appeasing fragrance for Yahweh. The priest* shall make atonement for him, and _⌊he will be forgiven_⌋.*

¹⁷ Only the firstborn of an ox or the firstborn of a sheep or the firstborn of a goat you will not redeem; they are holy. Their blood you will sprinkle over the altar, and their fat you will turn into smoke as an offering made by fire, a fragrance of appeasement for Yahweh.

²⁰ " 'Whoever sacrifices to the gods—not to Yahweh, to him alone—will be destroyed.

⁸ They have turned aside quickly from the way that I commanded them; they have made for themselves a cast-image bull calf, and they bowed to it, and they sacrificed to it, and they said, 'These are your gods, Israel, who brought you up from the land of Egypt.'"

¹⁵ lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they prostitute themselves after their gods, and they sacrifice to their gods, and they invite you, and you eat their sacrifice,

⁵ then* I myself will set my face against that man and against his clan, and I will cut him off and all those from the midst of their people who prostitute after Molech.

¹⁶ And Yahweh said to Moses, "Look, you are about to lie down with your ancestors,* and this people will arise and they* will play the prostitute after _⌊the foreign gods_⌋* of the land _⌊to which they are going_⌋.*

¹⁷ They sacrificed to the demons, not God, to gods whom* they had not known, new gods who* came from recent times; _⌊their ancestors had not known them_⌋.*

¹⁵ And he appointed his own priests for the high places and for the goat idols and for the bull calves that he had made.

³⁷ They even sacrificed their sons and daughters to the demons,

¹ A _⌊saying_⌋:* 'Look, if a man divorces his wife, and she goes from him _⌊and she becomes another man's wife_⌋,* will he return to her again?' Will not that land be greatly defiled? And you have prostituted yourself with many lovers, would you now return to me?" _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh.

⁸ And her whorings from the time of Egypt she did not abandon, for they slept with her in her childhood, and they caressed the bosoms of her virginity, and they poured out their fornication on her.

³¹ Now is the judgment of this world! Now the ruler of this world will be thrown out!

³⁰ I will no longer speak much with you, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has _⌊no power_⌋* _⌊over_⌋* me.

²⁰ No, but that the things which they sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to become sharers with demons.

⁴ among whom the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, so that they would not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

² in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, the spirit now working in the sons of disobedience,

²⁰ And the rest of humanity who were not killed by these plagues did not repent of the works of their hands, _⌊in order not to worship_⌋* the demons and the gold and silver and bronze and stone and wooden idols, which are able neither to see nor to hear nor to walk,

¹ And one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and spoke with me, saying, "Come, I will show you the judgment of the great prostitute who is seated on many waters, ² with whom the kings of the earth committed sexual immorality, and those who live on the earth became drunk with the wine of her sexual immorality." ³ And he carried me away into the wilderness in the Spirit,* and I saw a woman seated on a scarlet beast that was full of blasphemous names, having seven heads and ten horns. ⁴ And the woman was dressed in purple and scarlet and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, holding a golden cup in her hand full of detestable things and the unclean things of her sexual immorality. ⁵ And on her forehead a name was written, a mystery: "Babylon the great, the mother of prostitutes and of the detestable things of the earth."

² "Speak to the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* and say to them, 'When a person* from you presents an offering to Yahweh, you shall present your offering from domestic animals, from the cattle* or from the flock.* ³ If his offering is a burnt offering from the cattle,* then he must present* an unblemished male; he must present it at the door of the tent of assembly for his acceptance _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh.

⁴ and he does not bring it to the tent of assembly's entrance to present an offering to Yahweh _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh's tabernacle, then* that man shall be accounted bloodguilty—he has poured out blood, and that man shall be cut off from the midst of his people.

²⁶ and build an altar to Yahweh your God on the top of this stronghold in the proper arrangement, and take a second bull and offer it as a burnt offering with the wood of the Asherah* that you will cut down.

⁹ So Samuel took a single _⌊nursing lamb_⌋* and sacrificed it as a whole burnt offering to Yahweh. Then Samuel cried out to Yahweh on behalf of Israel, and Yahweh answered him.

⁸ Then you will go down before me to Gilgal. Look, I am coming down to you to offer burnt offerings _⌊and to make_⌋* fellowship offerings. You must wait seven days until I come to you. Then I will let you know what you should do."

² But Samuel said, "How can I go? If Saul hears, he will kill me." Yahweh said, "You must take a heifer from the herd _⌊with you_⌋,* and you must say, 'I have come to sacrifice to Yahweh.'

²⁵ David built an altar to Yahweh there, and he offered burnt offerings and fellowship offerings. Then Yahweh responded to his prayer for the land and brought the plague to a halt from upon Israel.

³⁰ Then Elijah said to all the people, "Come near to me," so all the people came closer to him. He repaired the altar of Yahweh that had been destroyed. ³¹ Elijah took twelve stones according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, to whom the word of God came, saying, "Israel shall be your name." ³² With them, he built an altar in the name of Yahweh, and he made a trench _⌊which would have held_⌋* about two seahs of seed, all around the altar. ³³ And he arranged the wood, cut the bull into pieces, and placed it on the wood.* Then he said, "Fill four jars with water, and pour it on the burnt offering and on the wood." ³⁴ He said, "Do it again!" They did it again. He said, "Do it a third time!" So they did it a third time. ³⁵ The water went all around the altar, and the trench also was filled with water. ³⁶ It happened at the offering of the evening oblation, Elijah the prophet went near, and he said, "O Yahweh, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel; let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and that I have done all of these things by your words. ³⁷ Answer me, O Yahweh, answer me; that this people may know that you, O Yahweh, are God and that you have turned their hearts back again." ³⁸ Then the fire of Yahweh fell, and it consumed the burnt offering, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust; and the water which was in the trench it licked up!

¹¹ From the rising of the sun to its setting, my name is great among the nations, and in every place incense is being presented to my name, and a pure offering. For my name is great among the nations," says Yahweh of hosts.

⁴ Only you shall not eat _⌊raw flesh with blood in it_⌋.*

¹⁷ This is* a lasting statute for your generations in all your dwellings: you must not eat any fat or any blood.'"

²⁶ And in any of your* dwellings, you must not eat any blood _⌊belonging to_⌋* birds* or* domestic animals.* ²⁷ Any person* who eats any blood, that person* shall be cut off from his people.'"

¹¹ Indeed* the flesh's life is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your lives, because it is the blood with the life that makes atonement.

²⁶ " 'You* must not eat anything with the blood; you* shall not practice divination, nor shall you* interpret signs.

³ And I myself will set my face against that man, and I will cut him off from the midst of his people, because he has given _⌊some of_⌋* his offspring to Molech, so that _⌊he makes my sanctuary unclean_⌋* and profanes* _⌊my holy name_⌋.* ⁴ And if the people of the land ever shut their eyes from* that man at his giving _⌊some of_⌋* his offspring to Molech, not putting him to death, ⁵ then* I myself will set my face against that man and against his clan, and I will cut him off and all those from the midst of their people who prostitute after Molech. ⁶ As for* the person who turns to the mediums and the soothsayers to prostitute after them, I will set* my face against that person, and I will cut him off from the midst of his people.

¹⁷ And I will set my face against you, and you shall be defeated _⌊before_⌋* your enemies; and your haters shall rule over you, and you shall flee away, but* there shall not be _⌊anybody who is pursuing_⌋* you.

¹⁶ Only the blood you must not eat, but on the ground you must pour it like water.

²³ Only, be sure not to eat the blood, because the blood is the life, and you shall not eat the life with the meat.

²³ But you shall not eat its blood; you shall pour it on the ground like water."

³³ So they reported it to Saul, saying, "Look! The troops are sinning against Yahweh by eating the animals with the blood!" And he said, "You have dealt treacherously! Roll to me a large stone _⌊today_⌋!"*

¹⁶ The face of Yahweh is against evildoers, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

¹⁰ For I have set my face against this city for evil and not for good," _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh. It will be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he will burn it with fire." '

¹¹ _⌊Therefore_⌋* thus says Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel: 'Look, _⌊I am determined to bring disaster on you_⌋,* even to exterminate all Judah.

⁸ And I will set my face against that person, and I will make him to* be a sign and make him into* the subject of proverbs; and I will cut him off from the midst of my people, and you will know I am Yahweh.

⁷ And I will set my face against them. From the fire they may_⌊escape_⌋,* but the fire will yet consume them, and they will know that I am Yahweh _⌊when I set my face against them_⌋.*

²⁵ Therefore say to them, 'Thus says the Lord Yahweh: "You eat blood in your meat, and you raise your eyes to your idols and you pour out blood, and yet you want to take possession of the land?*

⁷ At* your bringing _⌊foreigners_⌋* who are uncircumcised of heart and uncircumcised of flesh to be in my sanctuary to profane it, my temple,* _⌊as you offered my food, fat, and blood_⌋,* so* you broke my covenant by all of your detestable things.

²⁰ but we should write a letter to them to abstain from the pollution of idols and from sexual immorality and from what has been strangled and from blood.

²⁹ that you abstain from food sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from what has been strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you* keep yourselves from _⌊these things_⌋* you will do well. Farewell.

²⁹ How much worse punishment do you think the person will be considered worthy of who treats with disdain the Son of God and who considers ordinary the blood of the covenant by which he was made holy and who insults the Spirit of grace?

¹⁵ and he slaughtered it, and Moses took the blood and put* it with his finger on the altar's horns all around and purified the altar; then* he poured the blood out on the altar's base—thus* he consecrated it in order to make atonement for it.*

¹¹ "And Aaron shall present the sin offering's bull, which is for himself, and so he shall make atonement for himself and for his family; then* he shall slaughter the sin offering's bull, which is for himself.

¹⁴ And he shall take _⌊some of_⌋* the bull's blood, and he shall spatter it* with his finger on the atonement cover's surface on the eastern side, and _⌊before_⌋* the atonement cover he shall spatter _⌊some of_⌋* the blood with his finger seven times. ¹⁵ "And he shall slaughter the sin offering's goat, which is for the people, and he shall bring its blood _⌊from behind_⌋* the curtain, and he shall do with its blood as that which he did with* the bull's blood, and he shall spatter it on the atonement cover and _⌊before_⌋* the atonement cover. ¹⁶ Thus* he shall make atonement for the sanctuary from the _⌊Israelites_⌋'* impurities and from their transgressions for all their sins; and so he must do for the tent of assembly, which dwells with them in the midst of their impurities. ¹⁷ And _⌊no person_⌋* shall be in the tent of assembly when he enters to make atonement in the sanctuary until he comes out, and so he shall make atonement for himself and for his family and for all of Israel's assembly. ¹⁸ "Then* he shall go out to the altar that is _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh, and he shall make atonement for it; and he shall take _⌊some of_⌋* the bull's blood and _⌊some of_⌋* the goat's blood, and he shall put it* all around on the altar's horns. ¹⁹ And he shall spatter _⌊some of_⌋* the blood on it seven times with his finger, and he shall cleanse it and consecrate* it from the _⌊Israelites_⌋'* impurities.

²⁸ just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

²⁸ for this is my blood of the covenant which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

²⁴ And he said to them, "This is my blood of the covenant which is poured out for many.

²⁵ whom God made publicly available as the mercy seat* through faith in his blood, for a demonstration of his righteousness, because of the passing over of previously committed sins,

⁹ Therefore, by much more, because we* have been declared righteous now by his blood, we will be saved through him from the wrath.

⁷ in whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace,

¹⁴ in whom we have the redemption, the forgiveness of sins,

²⁰ and through him to reconcile all things to himself, by* making peace through the blood of his cross, through him, whether things on earth or things in heaven.

²² Indeed, nearly everything is purified with blood according to the law, and apart from the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

¹² Therefore Jesus also suffered outside the gate, in order that he might sanctify the people by his own blood.

² according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and for sprinkling with the blood of Jesus Christ. May grace and peace be multiplied to you.

⁷ But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

² and he* is the propitiation* for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

⁵ and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead and the ruler of the kings of the earth.
To the one who loves us and released us from our sins by his blood

⁴⁹ One law will be for the native and for the alien who is dwelling in your midst."

²⁶ And in any of your* dwellings, you must not eat any blood _⌊belonging to_⌋* birds* or* domestic animals.*

²⁴ You shall not eat it, but on the ground you shall pour it out like water.

³² Then the troops took the plunder: they took sheep and cattle and _⌊calves_⌋* and slaughtered them on the ground and the troops ate them all with the blood. ³³ So they reported it to Saul, saying, "Look! The troops are sinning against Yahweh by eating the animals with the blood!" And he said, "You have dealt treacherously! Roll to me a large stone _⌊today_⌋!"* ³⁴ Then Saul said, "Disperse yourselves among the troops and say to them, 'Bring to me each one his ox and each his sheep and slaughter them in this place and eat, but do not sin against Yahweh by eating the animals with the blood.'" So all the troops brought them, each leading his ox in his hand that night, and slaughtered it there.

¹⁸ "O earth, you should not cover my blood, and let there be no place* for my cry for help.

⁷ For her blood was in the midst of her; _⌊she put it on a bare rock_⌋;* she did not pour it on the ground to cover it with dust.*

¹¹ Indeed* the flesh's life is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your lives, because it is the blood with the life that makes atonement. ¹² _⌊Therefore_⌋* I said to the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* '_⌊None of you_⌋* may eat blood, nor* may the alien who is dwelling in your midst eat blood.'

³¹ And you will be men of holiness for me; and you will not eat meat from a carcass mangled in the field; you will throw it to the dog.

²⁵ and anyone who carries their dead body must wash his garments, and he shall be unclean until the evening.

⁵ And anyone who touches his bed must wash his garments and shall wash* himself* with water, and he shall be unclean until evening.

¹⁰ And any person who touches anything that happened to be under him becomes unclean until the evening, and the person who carries them must wash his garments, and he shall wash himself* with water, and he shall be unclean until the evening.

²¹ And any person who touches her bed must wash his garments, and he shall wash himself* with water, and he shall be unclean until the evening.

⁸ He shall not eat a naturally dead body or* a mangled carcass, _⌊so that he becomes unclean_⌋* by it; I am Yahweh.

⁸ The one who burns it will wash his garments and his body in water; he will be unclean until the evening.

¹⁹ The clean person will spatter the unclean on the third day and on the seventh day; and on the seventh day he will purify him, and he will wash his garments; he will bathe in the waters, and in the evening he will be clean.

²¹ " 'It will be an eternal decree for them. The one who spatters the waters of impurity will wash his garments, and the one who touches the waters of impurity will be unclean until the evening.

²¹ "You shall not eat any carcass;* you may give it to the alien who is in your _⌊towns_⌋,* and he may eat it, or you may sell it to a foreigner, for you are a holy people for Yahweh your God; you may not boil a kid in its mother's milk.

¹⁴ And I said, "Ah, Lord Yahweh! Look! I have not been defiling myself, and a dead body and mangled carcass I have not eaten from my childhood until now, and _⌊unclean meat_⌋* has not come into my mouth!"

³¹ Any dead body or mangled carcass from the birds* or from the animals,* the priests shall not eat."

¹⁴ And I said to him, "My lord, you know." And he said to me,
"These are the ones who have come out of the great tribulation, and have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

¹ " 'When a person* sins in that* he hears the utterance of a curse and he is a witness or he sees or he knows, if he does not make it known, then* he shall bear his guilt.

⁸ And the one who eats it shall bear his guilt, because he has profaned Yahweh's holiness, and that person shall be cut off from his people.

¹⁷ " 'As for* a man who takes his sister, his father's daughter or his mother's daughter, and he sees her nakedness and she herself sees his nakedness, it is a disgrace, and they shall be cut off _⌊before_⌋* the eyes of _⌊their people_⌋;* he has exposed his sister's nakedness—he must bear his guilt.

¹⁹ And you shall not expose the nakedness of your mother's sister, and you shall not expose your father's sister, because such a person* has dishonored his close relative—they must bear their guilt. ²⁰ As for* a man who lies with his aunt, he has exposed his uncle's nakedness—they shall bear their sin; they shall die childless.

¹⁹ The clean person will spatter the unclean on the third day and on the seventh day; and on the seventh day he will purify him, and he will wash his garments; he will bathe in the waters, and in the evening he will be clean. ²⁰ But the man who is unclean and does not purify himself, that person will be cut off from the midst of the assembly because he defiled the sanctuary of Yahweh; the water of impurity was not sprinkled on him; he is unclean.

¹¹ From the trouble of his life* he will see;* he will be satisfied. In his knowledge, the righteous one, my servant, shall declare many righteous,* and he is the one who will bear their iniquities.

⁸ Peter said to him, "You will never wash my feet _⌊forever_⌋!"* Jesus replied to him, "Unless I wash you, you do not have a share with me."

²⁸ thus also Christ, having been offered once in order to bear the sins of many, will appear for the second time without reference to sin to those who eagerly await him for salvation.

²⁴ who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we may die to sins and live to righteousness, by whose wounds you were healed.
