⁵ Look, you have made my days mere handbreadths, and my lifespan as nothing next to you. Surely every person standing firm is complete vanity. ¹⁴ I know everything God does endures forever; nothing can be added to it, and nothing can be taken from it, for God so acts that humans* might stand in awe before him.

³⁶ And do not swear by your head, because you are not able to make one hair white or black.

²⁵ And which of you by* being anxious is able to add an hour* to his life span? ²⁶ If then you are not even able to do a very little thing, why are you anxious about the rest?
