He will still be unclean, and uncleanness is on him. ¹⁴ " 'This is the law of a person who dies in a tent: everyone who comes into the tent and all who are in the tent will be unclean seven days. ¹⁵ Every container that is opened that does not have a lid cord* on it is unclean. ¹⁶ Anyone _⌊in the open field_⌋* who touches _⌊one who has been slain_⌋,* or a corpse, or a bone of a person, or a burial site, he will be unclean for seven days. ¹⁷ For the unclean person they will take* from the powder of the _⌊burnt purification offering_⌋,* and they will put* running water into a container. ¹⁸ A clean person will take hyssop and dip it into the water and sprinkle it on the tent and on all the objects and persons who were there, and on one who touched the bone, or the one slain, or the dead, or the burial site. ¹⁹ The clean person will spatter the unclean on the third day and on the seventh day; and on the seventh day he will purify him, and he will wash his garments; he will bathe in the waters, and in the evening he will be clean. ²⁰ But the man who is unclean and does not purify himself, that person will be cut off from the midst of the assembly because he defiled the sanctuary of Yahweh; the water of impurity was not sprinkled on him; he is unclean. ²¹ " 'It will be an eternal decree for them. The one who spatters the waters of impurity will wash his garments, and the one who touches the waters of impurity will be unclean until the evening. ²² Anything that the unclean person touches will be unclean, and the person who touches it will be unclean until the evening.'"

⁵ The lamb for you must be a male, without defect, in its first year; you will take it from the sheep or from the goats.

²⁰ You shall not present any animal in which is a physical defect, because it shall not be _⌊acceptable_⌋* for you. ²¹ And if anyone brings a sacrifice of fellowship offerings for Yahweh to fulfill a vow or as a freewill offering from* the cattle or from* the flock,* it must be without defect _⌊to be acceptable_⌋;* there must not be any physical defect in it. ²² The blind or the injured or the maimed or the seeping or one with a skin disorder or one with a skin eruption—these you shall not present to Yahweh, nor shall you give from them an offering made by fire on the altar for Yahweh. ²³ As for* an ox or sheep that is deformed or* that is stunted, you may present it as a freewill offering, but* for a vow it will not be accepted. ²⁴ And you shall not present anything for Yahweh with bruised or* shattered or* torn or* cut-off testicles, and you shall not _⌊sacrifice_⌋* such in your land. ²⁵ And you shall not present your God's food from any of these by the hand of _⌊a foreigner_⌋,* because their deformity is in them; a physical defect is in them; they shall not be accepted for you.'"

²¹ Then Eleazar the priest said to the men of the battle who came from the war, "This is the decree of the law that Yahweh commanded Moses.

³ _⌊And then_⌋* the nearest city to the slain one, the elders of that city shall take a heifer of the herd that has not been worked with in the field, that has not pulled a yoke,

⁷ So then, _⌊prepare_⌋* one new utility cart and two milking cows that have never had a yoke on them, and you must harness the cows to the utility cart and then turn their calves from following them to their stall.

¹⁸ "Come now, and let us argue," says Yahweh. "Even though your sins are like scarlet, they will be white like snow; even though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.

¹⁴ My rebellion was bound as a yoke, with his hand it was fastened together; it was put on my neck and caused my strength to fail. The Lord gave me into the hands of those whom I cannot withstand.

¹³ And you say, 'Look! This is a weariness,' and you sniff with disdain at it," says Yahweh of hosts. "And you bring the stolen, the lame, and the one that is sick—this you bring as the offering! Should I _⌊accept it_⌋* from your hand?" says Yahweh. ¹⁴ "Cursed is the one who cheats, who has in his flock a male and vows it, but instead sacrifices a blemished one to the Lord! For I am a great king," says Yahweh of hosts, "and my name is awesome among the nations."

³⁵ And the angel answered and* said to her,
"The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore also the one to be born will be called holy, the Son of God.

¹⁷ Because of this the Father loves me, because I lay down my life so that I may take possession of it again. ¹⁸ No one takes it from me, but I lay it down _⌊voluntarily_⌋.* I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take possession of it again. This commandment I received from my Father."

⁶ who, existing in the form of God, did not consider being equal with God something to be grasped, ⁷ but emptied himself by* taking the form of a slave, by* becoming in the likeness of people. And being found in appearance like a man, ⁸ he humbled himself by* becoming obedient to the point of death, that is, death on a cross.

²⁶ For a high priest such as this indeed is fitting for us, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and having become exalted above the heavens,

¹⁰ concerning instead only food and drink and different washings, regulations of outward things imposed until the time of setting things right.

¹⁹ but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of an unblemished and spotless lamb

²² who did not commit sin, nor was deceit found in his mouth,*

⁵ and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead and the ruler of the kings of the earth.
To the one who loves us and released us from our sins by his blood

¹² he shall carry* all of the bull _⌊outside the camp_⌋* to a ceremonially clean place, to the fatty ashes' dump, and he shall burn it on wood in the fire; it must be burned up on the fatty ashes' dump.

²¹ He shall bring* the rest of* the bull _⌊outside the camp_⌋,* and he shall burn it _⌊just as_⌋* he burned the first bull; it is the sin offering for the assembly.

⁴⁵ "As for* the person who is afflicted with a skin disease, his garments must be torn and his _⌊hair_⌋* must be allowed to hang loosely, and he must cover his upper lip, and he must call out, 'Unclean! Unclean!' ⁴⁶ For all the days during which the infection is on him, he shall be unclean; he must live alone; his dwelling must be _⌊outside the camp_⌋."*

²⁷ And the sin offering's bull and the sin offering's goat, whose blood was brought to make atonement in the sanctuary, shall be brought _⌊outside the camp_⌋,* and they shall burn their hide and their flesh and their offal in the fire.

¹⁴ "Bring the curser _⌊outside the camp_⌋,* and all the hearers shall place their hands on his head, and the whole community shall stone him.

² "Command the _⌊Israelites_⌋:* they must send everyone from the camp who is afflicted with a rash,* everyone with a fluid discharge, and everyone unclean through contact with a corpse.

³⁶ So the entire community brought him out to a place outside the camp, and _⌊they stoned him to death_⌋* just as Yahweh commanded Moses.

¹¹ For the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sins are burned up outside the camp. ¹² Therefore Jesus also suffered outside the gate, in order that he might sanctify the people by his own blood. ¹³ So we must go out to him outside the camp, bearing his reproach.

¹³ For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a young cow sprinkled on those who are defiled sanctify them for the ritual purity of the flesh, ¹⁴ how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, cleanse our consciences from dead works to serve the living God?

²⁴ and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and _⌊to the sprinkled blood_⌋* that speaks better than Abel's does.

² according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and for sprinkling with the blood of Jesus Christ. May grace and peace be multiplied to you.

¹⁴ And the flesh of the bull and its skin and its offal you will burn with fire outside the camp; it is a sin offering.

¹¹ But* the bull's skin and its meat, in addition to its head, _⌊its lower leg bones_⌋,* its* inner parts,* and its offal— ¹² he shall carry* all of the bull _⌊outside the camp_⌋* to a ceremonially clean place, to the fatty ashes' dump, and he shall burn it on wood in the fire; it must be burned up on the fatty ashes' dump.

¹⁴ I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint. My heart is like wax; it is melted _⌊within me_⌋.*

¹⁰ Yet* Yahweh was pleased to crush him; he _⌊made him sick_⌋.* If she* places* his life a guilt offering,* he will see offspring. He will prolong days, and the will of Yahweh will succeed in his hand.

⁴ then* the priest shall command, and he shall take two living, clean birds and _⌊cedar wood_⌋* and _⌊a crimson thread_⌋* and hyssop for the one who presents himself for cleansing.

⁴⁹ And he shall take two birds and _⌊cedar wood_⌋* and a _⌊crimson thread_⌋* and hyssop to cleanse the house;

⁷ Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean. Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

¹⁹ For when* every commandment had been spoken by Moses to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves* with water and scarlet wool and hyssop and sprinkled both the scroll itself and all the people, ²⁰ saying,
"This is the blood of the covenant that God has commanded for you."* ²¹ And likewise he sprinkled both the tabernacle and all the utensils of service with the blood. ²² Indeed, nearly everything is purified with blood according to the law, and apart from the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. ²³ Therefore it was necessary for the sketches of the things in heaven to be purified with these sacrifices, but the heavenly things themselves to be purified with better sacrifices than these.

⁸ Then* the one who presents himself for cleansing shall wash his garments, and he shall shave off all his hair, and he shall wash himself in the water; thus* he shall be clean, and afterward he shall enter the camp, but* he shall stay _⌊outside his tent_⌋* for seven days. ⁹ _⌊And then_⌋* on the seventh day he must shave off all his hair—he must shave his head and his beard and _⌊his eyebrows_⌋* and all the rest* of his hair—and he shall wash his garments, and he shall wash his body in the water; thus* he shall be clean.

⁵ And anyone who touches his bed must wash his garments and shall wash* himself* with water, and he shall be unclean until evening.

²⁶ "And the person who sends out the goat for Azazel shall wash his garments, and he shall wash his body with water, and _⌊afterward_⌋* he shall come to the camp. ²⁷ And the sin offering's bull and the sin offering's goat, whose blood was brought to make atonement in the sanctuary, shall be brought _⌊outside the camp_⌋,* and they shall burn their hide and their flesh and their offal in the fire. ²⁸ And the person who burns them shall wash his garments, and he shall wash his body with water, and _⌊afterward_⌋* he must come to the camp.

¹³ But the man who is clean and not on a journey, and he fails to observe the Passover, that person will be cut off from the people because he did not present the offering of Yahweh on its appointed time. That man will bear his guilt.

²⁹ Or is God the God of the Jews only? Is he not also the God of the Gentiles? Yes, also of the Gentiles, ³⁰ since God is one, who will justify _⌊those who are circumcised_⌋* by faith and _⌊those who are uncircumcised_⌋* through faith.

¹¹ where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, slave, or free, but Christ is all, and in all.

¹ Then* Yahweh said to Moses, "Speak to the priests, Aaron's sons, and say to them, 'One must not make himself unclean for a dead person among his own people,

¹³ Then Haggai said, "If one who is unclean from contact with a corpse touches any of these, will it become unclean?" The priests answered, "Yes, it will be become unclean."

¹² Because of this, just as sin entered into the world through one man, and death through sin, so also death spread to all people because all sinned.

¹⁷ Therefore "come out from their midst and be separate," says the Lord, "and do not touch what is unclean,* and I will welcome you,*

¹⁷ "If* a person* when he sins _⌊violates_⌋* one from all of Yahweh's commands that should not _⌊be violated_⌋,* but* he did not know, then* he is guilty and he shall bear his guilt.

²⁰ And the person* who eats meat from the fellowship offerings' sacrifice, which is for Yahweh, and whose uncleanness is upon him—that person* shall be cut off from his people.

³¹ "And you shall keep the _⌊Israelites_⌋* separate from their uncleanness so that they might not die because of* their uncleanness by their making my tabernacle, which is in their midst, unclean.

³ And I myself will set my face against that man, and I will cut him off from the midst of his people, because he has given _⌊some of_⌋* his offspring to Molech, so that _⌊he makes my sanctuary unclean_⌋* and profanes* _⌊my holy name_⌋.*

³ "Say to them, 'Throughout your generations, any man from any of your offspring who comes near the votive offerings that the _⌊Israelites_⌋* consecrate to Yahweh with* his uncleanness on him, that person shall be cut off* from _⌊before me_⌋;* I am Yahweh.

³² By his evildoing, the wicked will be overthrown, and the righteous will find refuge in his death.

²⁴ Thus I said to you that you will die in your sins. For if you do not believe that I am he, you will die in your sins."

² For if the word spoken through angels was binding and every transgression and act of disobedience received a just penalty, ³ how will we escape if we* neglect so great a salvation which had its beginning when it* was spoken through the Lord and was confirmed to us by those who heard,

²⁹ How much worse punishment do you think the person will be considered worthy of who treats with disdain the Son of God and who considers ordinary the blood of the covenant by which he was made holy and who insults the Spirit of grace?

⁸ But as for the cowards and unbelievers and detestable persons and murderers and sexually immoral people and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their share is in the lake that burns with fire and sulphur, which is the second death.

¹¹ The one who does evil, let him do evil still, and the defiled, let him be defiled still, and the righteous, let him practice righteousness still, and the holy, let him be holy still."

¹⁵ Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the sexually immoral people and the murderers and the idolaters and everyone who loves and who practices falsehood.

³² And anything on which _⌊one of them_⌋* falls at their death shall become unclean: any object of wood or garment or skin or sackcloth—any object that has performed work—must be placed in water, and it shall be unclean until the evening, and then it shall be clean.

³⁶ And the priest shall issue a command, and they shall clear out the house before the priest comes to examine the infection, so that* all that is in the house might not become unclean; and _⌊afterward_⌋* the priest shall go to examine the house.

²⁰ You will purify yourselves and every garment and every object of hide and all the work of goats' hair, and every object of wood."

'

²⁷ "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees—hypocrites!—because you are like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and of everything unclean!

⁴⁴ Woe to you, because you are like unmarked graves, and the people who walk over them* do not know it!*

¹⁹ And when the servants of Isaac dug in the valley, they found a well of fresh water there.

¹⁵ A garden fountain, a well of living water, flowing (streams) from Lebanon.

¹⁰ Jesus answered and said to her, "If you had known the gift of God and who it is who says to you, 'Give me water* to drink,' you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water." ¹¹ The woman said to him, "Sir, you have no bucket and the well is deep! From where then do you get this living water?

³⁸ the one who believes in me.* Just as the scripture said, 'Out of his belly will flow rivers of living water.'"*

¹⁷ because the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and will lead them to springs of living waters, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."*

²⁵ And I will sprinkle on you pure water, and you will be clean from all of your uncleanness, and I will cleanse you from all of your idols. ²⁶ And I will give a new heart to you, and a new spirit I will give* into your inner parts, and I will remove the* heart of stone from your flesh, and I will give to you a heart of flesh. ²⁷ And I will give* my spirit into your inner parts, and I will make it so that you will go* in my rules, and my regulations you will remember, and you will do them.

² Every branch that does not bear fruit in me, he removes it, and every branch that bears fruit, he prunes it in order that it may bear more fruit. ³ You are already clean because of the word that I have spoken to you.

¹⁷ Sanctify them in the truth—your word is truth.

¹⁹ And for them I sanctify myself, so that they themselves also may be sanctified in the truth.

³⁰ But from him you are in Christ Jesus, who became wisdom to us from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption,

² And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done.

⁹ _⌊And then_⌋* on the seventh day he must shave off all his hair—he must shave his head and his beard and _⌊his eyebrows_⌋* and all the rest* of his hair—and he shall wash his garments, and he shall wash his body in the water; thus* he shall be clean.

¹² He will purify himself on the third day, and on the seventh day he will be clean. If he does not purify himself on the third day, he will not be clean on the seventh day.

²⁵ Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for her; ²⁶ in order that he might sanctify her by cleansing her* with the washing of water by the word; ²⁷ in order that he might present to himself the church glorious, not having a spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she may be holy and blameless.

¹⁴ who gave himself for us, in order that he might redeem us from all lawlessness and purify for himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good deeds.

³ For we also were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, enslaved to various desires and pleasures, spending our lives in wickedness and envy, despicable, hating one another. ⁴ But when the kindness and love for mankind of God our Savior appeared, ⁵ he saved us, not by deeds of righteousness that we have done, but because of his mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit,

²² let us approach with a true heart in the full assurance of faith, our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

⁷ But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

¹ My little children, I am writing these things to you in order that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous one, ² and he* is the propitiation* for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

²³ and save others by* snatching them from the fire, and have mercy on others with fear, hating even the tunic stained by the flesh.

⁵ and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead and the ruler of the kings of the earth.
To the one who loves us and released us from our sins by his blood ⁶ and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father—to him be the glory and the power _⌊forever and ever_⌋*. Amen.

¹⁴ And as for any uncircumcised male who has not circumcised the flesh of his foreskin, that person shall be cut off from his* people. He has broken my covenant.

¹⁶ The one who believes and is baptized will be saved, but the one who refuses to believe will be condemned.

³⁹ by this one everyone who believes is justified! ⁴⁰ Watch out, therefore, lest what is stated by the prophets come upon you:* ⁴¹ 'Look, you scoffers, and be astonished and perish! For I am doing a work in your days, a work that you would never believe even if someone were to tell it* to you.'"*

⁴ Or do you despise the wealth of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance? ⁵ But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart, you are storing up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and of the revelation of the righteous judgment of God,

¹⁴ Therefore, dear friends, because you* are waiting for these things, make every effort to be found at peace, spotless and unblemished in him.

¹⁹ (for the law made nothing perfect), but on the other hand there is the introduction of a better hope through which we draw near to God.

⁴ For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

² Or if a person* touches anything unclean, _⌊whether_⌋* an unclean wild* animal's dead body or an unclean domestic animal's dead body or an unclean swarmer's dead body, but* _⌊he is unaware of it_⌋,* he is unclean and he is guilty.

¹⁹ And the meat that touches anything unclean must not be eaten; it must be burned with fire, and as for the clean* meat, anyone who is clean may eat the meat.

¹⁹ For from the heart come evil plans, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, abusive speech. ²⁰ These are the things that defile a person. But eating with unwashed hands does not defile a person!"

²¹ For from within, from the heart of people, come evil plans, sexual immoralities, thefts, murders, ²² adulteries, acts of greed, malicious deeds, deceit, licentiousness, _⌊envy_⌋,* abusive speech, pride, foolishness. ²³ All these evil things come from within and defile a person."
