¹ And when it was decided for us to sail to Italy, they delivered up both Paul and certain other prisoners to a centurion named Julius, of a cohort of Augustus.

²⁰ And you, you intended evil against me, but God meant it for good, in order to make it as it is this day, to keep a great many people alive.

¹¹ Jehovah's counsel stands forever, the thoughts of His heart to all generations.

¹⁰ For the wraths of man thank You; You encircle Yourself with the wraths left over.

²¹ Many purposes are in a man's heart, but the counsel of Jehovah shall stand.

²⁷ It is good for a man that he bear a yoke in his youth.

³⁵ And all the inhabitants of the earth are counted as nothing. And He does according to His will among the army of Heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth. And no one is able to strike His hand or say to Him, What are You doing?

⁵ And Jesus, entering into Capernaum, a centurion came near to Him, begging Him, ⁶ and saying, Lord, my boy has been laid in the house, a paralytic, being grievously tormented. ⁷ And Jesus said to him, I will come and heal him. ⁸ And answering, the centurion said, Lord, I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof, but only speak a word and my boy will be healed. ⁹ For I am also a man under authority, having soldiers under myself. And I say to this one, Go; and he goes; and to another, Come; and he comes; and to my slave, Do this; and he does it . ¹⁰ And hearing, Jesus marveled, and said to those following, Truly I say to you, Not even in Israel did I find such faith.

⁵⁴ But the centurion and those with him guarding Jesus, seeing the earthquake and the things taking place, they feared exceedingly, saying, Truly this One was Son of God.

² And a certain slave of a centurion, one dear to him, having illness, was about to expire.

⁴⁷ And seeing the thing happening, the centurion glorified God, saying, Truly, this Man was righteous.

¹ But a certain man named Cornelius was in Caesarea, a centurion of a cohort being called Italian,

²² And they said, Cornelius, a centurion, a just man and one fearing God, and being testified to by all the nation of the Jews, was divinely warned by a holy angel to call you to his house and to hear words from you.

¹⁰ And when he saw the vision, we immediately sought to go forth into Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to announce the gospel to them.

² And finding a certain Jew named Aquila, of Pontus by race, having recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had ordered all the Jews to leave Rome, he came to them.

²¹ And when these things were fulfilled, passing through Macedonia and Achaia, Paul purposed in the Spirit to go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have come there, I must also see Rome.

³² He at once ran down to them, taking soldiers and centurions. And seeing the chiliarch and the soldiers, they stopped beating Paul.

²⁶ And hearing, coming near the centurion reported to the chiliarch, saying, Watch what you are about to do, for this man is a Roman.

¹¹ And coming to him in the following night the Lord said, Be cheered, Paul, for as you fully testified the things concerning Me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify at Rome.

¹⁷ And calling near one of the centurions, Paul said, Bring this young man to the chiliarch, for he has something to report to him.

²³ And having ordered the centurion to keep Paul, and to have ease, and not to forbid anyone of his own to minister or to come to him, he dismissed them .

¹² Then conferring with the sanhedrin, Festus answered, You have appealed to Caesar; you shall go before Caesar.

²⁵ But I having perceived nothing he had done worthy of death, also this one himself having appealed to Augustus, I decided to send him;

⁶ And the centurion finding there an Alexandrian ship sailing to Italy, he put us into it.

¹¹ But the centurion was rather persuaded by the helmsman and the ship master, than by the things spoken by Paul.

⁴³ But being minded to save Paul, the centurion kept them back from their purpose and commanded those able to swim, first casting themselves overboard, to go out on the land.

¹⁶ And when we went into Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the camp commander. But Paul was allowed to remain by himself, with the soldier guarding him.

²² Because of this I also was much hindered from coming to you, ²³ but now having no more place in these regions, and having a longing to come to you for many years, ²⁴ whenever I may go into Spain, I will come to you; for I hope in traveling through to see you and to be set forward there by you, if first I may be filled of you in part. ²⁵ But now I am going to Jerusalem, doing service to the saints. ²⁶ For Macedonia and Achaia thought it good to make certain gifts to the poor of the saints in Jerusalem. ²⁷ For they thought it good, also being debtors of them; for if the nations shared in their spiritual things, they ought also to minister to them in the fleshly things. ²⁸ Then completing and having sealed this fruit to them, I will go through you into Spain. ²⁹ And I know that I will come to you in the fullness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ when I come.

²⁴ Greet all those leading you, also all the saints. Those from Italy greet you.
