¹ But in those days, the disciples having multiplied, a murmuring of the Hellenists toward the Hebrews occurred, because their widows were being overlooked in the daily serving.

¹⁹ When you cut down your harvest in your field, and have forgotten a sheaf in the field, you shall not turn back to take it. It shall be for the alien, for the orphan. and for the widow; so that Jehovah your God shall bless you in all the work of your hand. ²⁰ When you beat your olive tree, you shall not search the branch behind you. It shall be for the alien, for the orphan, and for the widow. ²¹ When you gather the grapes of your vineyard, you shall not glean it afterward. It shall be for the alien, for the orphan, and for the widow.

¹² When you have made an end of tithing all the tithes of your increase the third year, the year of tithing, and have given it to the Levite, the alien, the orphan, and the widow, that they may eat inside your gates, and be filled,

¹³ The blessing of the perishing came on me; and I made the widow's heart to sing.

¹⁶ If I have withheld from the desire of the poor, or I have caused the widow's eyes to fail,

¹⁶ A fullness of grain shall be in the earth on top of the mountains; its fruit shall shake like Lebanon; and they of the city shall flourish like the grass of the earth.

³ Your people shall be willing in the day of Your power; in holy adornment from the womb of the dawn, to You is the dew of Your youth.

¹⁷ Learn to do good, seek justice, reprove the oppressor, judge the orphan, strive for the widow.

⁶ Those who come to Jacob, He shall make take root. Israel shall blossom and bud and fill the face of the world with fruit.

¹⁹ And out of them shall come thanksgiving and the voice of those who are merry. And I will multiply them, and they shall not be few. I also will honor them, and they shall not be small.

⁷ In you they have despised father and mother. In your midst they have dealt with the alien by oppression. In you they oppressed the widow and the orphan.

⁵ And I will come near to you for judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against those swearing to a lie; and against those who extort from the hired laborer's pay; and turning away the widow, and the fatherless, and the alien, and not fearing Me, says Jehovah of hosts.

¹³ But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of Heaven before men; for you do not enter, nor do you allow those entering to go in.

⁴¹ Then those who gladly welcomed his words were baptized. And about three thousand souls were added that day.

⁴⁵ And they sold possessions and goods and distributed them to all, according as anyone had need.

⁴⁷ praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church those being saved from day to day.

⁴ But many of those hearing the Word believed; and the number of the men became about five thousand.

³⁵ and laid them at the feet of the apostles. And it was distributed to each according as any had need.

¹⁴ And more believing ones were added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and of women,

²⁸ saying, Did we not command you by a command that you not teach in this name? And, behold, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine and intend to bring on us the blood of this man.

⁷ And the Word of God was increasing, and the number of the disciples in Jerusalem was multiplying exceedingly. Even a great crowd of the priests were attending to the faith!

²⁹ And he spoke and disputed with the Hellenists, and they took him in hand to do away with him .

³⁹ And rising up Peter went with them, and having arrived they led to the upper room. And all the widows stood by him, weeping and showing tunics and garments such as Dorcas made while being with them.

⁴¹ And giving her a hand he raised her up. And calling the saints and the widows he presented her living.

²⁰ But some men from them, Cypriots and Cyrenians, who had come to Antioch, spoke to the Hellenists, announcing the gospel of the Lord Jesus.

¹⁰ Neither should you murmur, as also some of them murmured, and perished by the destroyer.

²² Are they Hebrews? I also. Are they Israelites? I also. Are they Abraham's seed? I also.

⁵ in circumcision, the eighth day, of the race of Israel, the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of the Hebrews; according to Law, a Pharisee;

⁴ But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them learn first to be godly to their own house and to make a return payment to their forebears, for this is good and pleasing before God. ⁵ But honor the one being really a widow, even having been left alone, who has set her hope on God and continues in petitions and prayers night and day.

⁹ Let a widow be enrolled having become not less than sixty years, the wife of one man,

¹ Let brotherly love continue.

²⁷ Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their afflictions, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

⁵ Or do you think that vainly the Scripture says, The spirit which has dwelt in us yearns to envy? No OT passage

⁹ Do not murmur against one another, brothers, that you not be condemned. Behold, the Judge stands before the door.
