⁴ for it is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

⁸ I will not reprove you for your sacrifices; yea, your burnt offerings are continually before Me; ⁹ I will take no bull out of your house, nor he-goats out of your folds, ¹⁰ for every beast of the forest is Mine; the cattle on a thousand hills; ¹¹ I know all the birds of the mountains; and all moving in My fields are Mine; ¹² if I were hungry, I would not tell you; for the world is Mine, and the fullness of it.

¹⁶ For you do not desire sacrifice, or I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering.

¹¹ What good to Me are your many sacrifices, says Jehovah? I am full of burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fattened cattle, and the blood of bulls; nor do I delight in the blood of lambs and he goats. ¹² When you come to see My face, who has required this at your hand, to trample My courts? ¹³ Do not add to bringing vain sacrifice; its incense is an abomination to Me. I cannot endure the new moon and sabbath, the going to meeting, and the evil assembly. ¹⁴ My soul hates your new moons and your appointed feasts. They are a burden to Me. I am weary of bearing them . ¹⁵ And when you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you. Yea, when you multiply prayer, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood.

³ He who kills an ox is as if he struck a man; he who sacrifices a lamb is as if he broke a dog's neck; he who offers a present is as if it were swine's blood; he who marks incense is as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their way, and their soul delights in their abominations.

²⁰ Why is this to Me? Frankincense comes from Sheba, and the good cane from a far land? Your burnt offerings are not for acceptance, nor are your sacrifices sweet to Me.

²¹ So says Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Add your burnt offerings to your sacrifices and eat flesh. ²² For I did not speak to your fathers, nor command them in the day that I brought them out from the land of Egypt, concerning matters of burnt offerings and sacrifices.

⁶ For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

² Take words with you and return to Jehovah. Say to Him, Take away all iniquity and receive us well, that we may repay with the calves of our lips.

²¹ I hate, I despise your feast days; and I will not delight in your solemn assemblies. ²² Though you offer Me burnt offerings and your grain offerings, I will not be pleased; nor will I regard the peace offerings of your fat animals.

⁶ With what shall I come before Jehovah, to bow myself before the loftiness of God? Shall I come before Him with burnt offerings, with calves, sons of a year? ⁷ Will Jehovah be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousands of torrents of oil? Shall I give my first-born for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? ⁸ O man, He has declared to you what is good. And what does Jehovah require of you, but to do justice, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?

³³ "and to love Him from all the heart", and from all the understanding, "and from all the soul, and from all the strength;" Deut. 6:4, 5 and "to love one's neighbor as oneself" Lev. 19:18 is more than all the burnt offerings and the sacrifices.

²⁹ On the morrow, John sees Jesus coming toward him and said, Behold! The Lamb of God, taking away the sin of the world!

²⁷ And this is My covenant with them, when I take away their sins." Isa. 59:20, 21

⁹ which was a parable for the present time, according to which both gifts and sacrifices are offered, but as regards conscience, not being able to perfect the one serving,

¹² nor through the blood of goats and of calves, but through His own blood, He entered once for all into the Holy of Holies, having procured everlasting redemption. ¹³ For if the blood of bulls and goats, and ashes of a heifer sprinkling those having been defiled, sanctifies to the purity of the flesh,

⁸ Above, saying, "You did not desire nor were pleased with sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and sacrifices concerning sins," (which are offered according to the Law),

¹¹ And indeed every priest stands day by day ministering, and often offering the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.

⁵ And you know that He was revealed that He might take away our sins, and sin is not in Him.
