⁷ Because of this, even as the Holy Spirit says, "Today, if you hear His voice,

² The Spirit of Jehovah has spoken by me, and His Word is on my tongue.

¹¹ But My people would not listen to My voice, and Israel did not consent to Me.

¹³ Oh if My people had listened to me! If Israel had walked in My ways,

⁷ For He is our God; and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand. Today, if you will hear His voice, ⁸ do not harden your heart as in the day of strife, as in the day of testing in the wilderness; ⁹ When your fathers tempted Me, they tested Me and they saw My work. ¹⁰ For forty years I was disgusted with this generation; and I said, They are a people who err in heart; and, They do not know My ways, ¹¹ to whom I swore in My anger, They shall not enter into My rest.

¹ Do not boast in the day of tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth.

¹⁰ All that your hand finds to do, do it with your strength. For there is no work, or planning, or knowledge, or wisdom, in Sheol, there where you go.

³ Bend your ear and come to Me; hear, and your soul shall live; and I will cut a covenant everlasting with you, the faithful mercies of David.

⁶ Seek Jehovah while He may be found; call on Him while He is near.

⁵ While he was yet speaking, behold, a radiant cloud overshadowed them. And, behold, a voice out of the cloud saying, This is My Son, the Beloved, in whom I delight; hear Him. Psa. 2:7; Gen. 22:2; Isa. 42:1; Deut. 18:15

⁴³ He said to them, Then how does David in Spirit call Him Lord, saying,

³⁶ For David himself said by the Holy Spirit, "The Lord said to my Lord, Sit off My right until I place Your enemies as a footstool for Your feet." LXX-Psa. 109:1; MT-Psa. 110:1

²⁵ Truly, truly, I say to you that an hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and the ones hearing will live.

³ The doorkeeper opens to him, and the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out.

¹⁶ And I have other sheep which are not of this fold. I must also lead those, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock, one Shepherd.

²⁷ My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

¹ But working together, we also call on you not to receive the grace of God in vain. ² For He says, "In an acceptable time I heard you, and in a day of salvation I helped you." Behold, now is the acceptable time! Behold, now is the day of salvation! Isa. 49:8

¹³ But exhort yourselves each day, as long as it is being called today, that not any of you be hardened by the deceit of sin.

⁷ He again marks out a certain day, saying in David, Today (after so long a time, according as He has said), "Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts." LXX-Psa. 94:7, 8; MT-Psa. 95:7, 8

⁸ the Holy Spirit signifying by this that the way of the Holies has not yet been made manifest, the first tabernacle still having standing;

¹³ Come now, those saying, Today or tomorrow we will go into this city, and we will spend one year there, and we will trade and will make a profit, ¹⁴ who do not know of the morrow. For what is your life? For it is a mist, which for a little while appears, and then disappears. ¹⁵ Instead of you saying, If the Lord wills, even we will live, and we will do this or that;

²¹ for prophecy was not at any time borne by the will of man, but having been borne along by the Holy Spirit, holy men of God spoke.

²⁰ Behold, I stand at the door and knock: If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will enter to him, and I will dine with him, and he with Me.
