¹ And Job answered and said: ² Even today my complaint is bitter; my hand is heavy over my groaning. ³ Oh that I knew where I might find Him, I would come into His seat; ⁴ I would order my cause before Him, and I would fill my mouth with arguments. ⁵ I would know the words He would answer me, and understand what He would say to me. ⁶ Would He plead against me with greatness of strength? No, surely He would put it in me. ⁷ There the righteous might reason with Him; and I would be forever delivered from my Judge. ⁸ Behold, I go forward, but He is not there; and backward, but I do not see Him; ⁹ to the left where He works, but I cannot see; He turns to the right, but I do not see Him . ¹⁰ But He knows the way with me. When I am tried, I shall come forth as gold. ¹¹ My foot has held fast in His steps; I have kept His way and have not turned; ¹² nor have I departed from the command of His lips; I treasured the words of His mouth more than my portion. ¹³ But He is in one mind, and who can turn Him? Yea, His soul desires, and He does it . ¹⁴ For He fulfilled my lot, and many like these are with Him. ¹⁵ On account of this I am troubled from His presence; I consider, and am in dread of Him. ¹⁶ For God makes my heart weak, and the Almighty troubles me. ¹⁷ In this I was not cut off by darkness; yea, He covered the thick darkness from my face.

² Oh that my vexation were carefully weighed, and my ruin lifted in the balances together! ³ For now it would be heavier than the sand of the seas; on account of this my words have been rash.

¹¹ Therefore, I will not hold my mouth; I will speak in the distress of my spirit; I will complain in the bitterness of my soul.

¹ My soul loathes my life; I will leave my complaint on myself; I will speak in the bitterness of my soul.

⁶ and would tell you the secrets of wisdom, that counsel is double? Know then that God forgets some of your iniquity for you.

⁴ For by day and by night Your hand was heavy on me; my sap was turned into the droughts of summer. Selah.

² In the day of my distress I sought the Lord; my hand was open in the night and did not grow numb; my soul refused to be comforted. ³ I remember God and am troubled; I meditate and my spirit faints. Selah. ⁴ You seized the watches of my eyes; I am troubled, and I cannot speak. ⁵ I thought upon the days of old, the years of bygone ages. ⁶ I will remember my song in the night; I will speak with my own heart, and my spirit carefully searches. ⁷ Will the lord cast off forever; and will He not add to be pleased any more? ⁸ Is His mercy gone forever? Has His word failed for all generations? ⁹ Has God forgotten to be gracious; has He in anger shut up His tender mercies? Selah.

¹⁹ Remember my affliction and my roaming, as wormwood and bitterness. ²⁰ My soul vividly remembers and bows down on me.

³ Surely I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to argue with God.

²¹ O that one might plead for a man with God, as a man pleads for his friend!

³⁵ Oh that I had one to hear me! See, my mark! Let the Almighty answer me, and let my Accuser write an indictment. ³⁶ Surely I would carry it on my shoulder, and bind it like crowns to me. ³⁷ I would tell Him the number of my steps. Like a prince I would go near Him.

¹ And Jehovah answered Job and said: ² Shall a reprover contend with the Almighty? He who reproves God, let him answer it. ³ Then Job answered Jehovah and said: ⁴ Behold, I am vile! What shall I answer You? I will put my hand to my mouth. ⁵ Once I have spoken, but I will not answer; yea, twice, but I will go no further.

⁸ Yea, Jehovah, in the path of Your judgments we awaited You; for Your name and for Your memory is the desire of our soul.

⁶ Seek Jehovah while He may be found; call on Him while He is near. ⁷ Let the wicked forsake his way and the vain man his thoughts; and let him return to Jehovah, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.

⁷ O Jehovah, though our iniquities testify against us, act for Your name's sake; for our apostasies are many; we have sinned against You.

¹⁹ whereas God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not charging their trespasses to them, and putting the word of reconciliation in us. ²⁰ Then on behalf of Christ, we are ambassadors, as God is exhorting through us, we beseech on behalf of Christ, Be reconciled to God.

⁶ Therefore, since it remains for some to enter into it, and those who formerly had the gospel preached did not enter in on account of disobedience,

²⁵ Far be it from You to act in this way, to put to death the righteous with the wicked. Far be it from You. The Judge of all the earth, shall He not do right? ²⁶ And Jehovah said, If I find fifty righteous within the city, in Sodom, then I will spare all the place because of them. ²⁷ And Abraham answered and said, Behold, I pray, I have undertaken to speak to the Lord, and I am dust and ash. ²⁸ Perhaps there will be lacking five from the fifty righteous, will You destroy all the city for the five? And He said, If I find forty five there, I will not destroy. ²⁹ And he continued still to speak to Him and said, Perhaps forty will be found there. And He said I will not do it because of the forty. ³⁰ And he said, Please do not my Lord be angry, that I may speak; perhaps thirty will be found there. And He said, I will not do it if I find thirty there. ³¹ And he said, Behold, I pray, I have undertaken to speak to the Lord; perhaps twenty will be found there. And He said I will not destroy because of the twenty. ³² And he said, I pray, let not my Lord be angry that I may speak only this time; perhaps ten will be found there. And He said, I will not destroy because of the ten.

¹² And You said, I will surely deal well with you, and I will make your seed like the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.

¹² Why should the Egyptians say, For evil He has caused them to go up, to kill them in the mountains, and to consume them on the face of the earth? Turn from Your fierce anger and be moved to pity as to the evil to Your people. ¹³ Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, Your servants to whom You swore by Yourself, and You spoke to them, I will multiply your seed like the stars of the heavens, and all this land which I have said, I will give to your seed. And they shall possess it forever.

¹³ And Moses said to Jehovah, And the Egyptians will hear. For You have brought up this people out of their midst with Your power. ¹⁴ And they will say to the inhabitant of this land, They have heard that You, Jehovah, are in the midst of this people, who is seen eye with eye. You are Jehovah, and Your cloud stands over them; in a pillar of cloud You go before them by day, and in a pillar of fire by night. ¹⁵ And will You execute this people as one man? Then the nations who have heard Your fame will speak, saying, ¹⁶ Because Jehovah is not able to bring this people into the land which He swore to them, therefore He has slain them in the wilderness. ¹⁷ And now, I beseech You, let the power of my Lord be great, as You have spoken, saying, ¹⁸ Jehovah is slow to anger, and of great mercy, bearing away iniquity and transgression; and by no means will clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the sons, on the third and on the fourth generation . ¹⁹ I beseech You, forgive the iniquity of this people, according to the greatness of Your mercy, and as You have gone with this people from Egypt, even until now.

⁸ Oh Lord, what shall I say, after Israel has turned its back before its enemies? ⁹ And the Canaanites, and all the inhabitants of the land shall hear, and shall come around against us, and shall cut off our name out of the earth. And what shall You do for Your great name?

¹⁸ Behold now, I have set my cause in order; I know that I shall be justified.

¹⁹ Make us know what we shall say to Him; for we cannot arrange our case because of darkness.

¹¹ For Your name's sake, O Jehovah, even pardon my iniquity for it is great.

¹ Judge me, O God, and strive for my cause against a nation not godly. Deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.

²⁶ Cause Me to remember; let us enter into judgment together; sum up for yourself, that you may be justified.

¹⁸ O my God, bow down Your ear and hear; open Your eyes and see our ruins and the city which is called by Your name. For we do not present our prayers before You on account of our righteousnesses, but because of Your great mercies. ¹⁹ O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, listen and act! Do not delay, for Your own sake, O my God. For Your name is called on Your city and on Your people.

² I will say to God, Do not condemn me; make me know why You contend with me.

²² Then call, and I will answer; or let me speak, and reply to me. ²³ How many are my iniquities and sins? Make me know my transgressions and my sin.

² I know that You can do all, and no purpose is withheld from You. ³ Who is this hiding counsel without knowledge? So I declared, but did not understand things too wonderful for me; yea, I did not know. ⁴ I pray, Listen, and I will speak; I will ask You, and You will make me know. ⁵ I have heard of You by hearing of the ear, but now my eye has seen You; ⁶ Therefore, I despise myself, and I have repented on dust and ashes.

³ But to me it is a small thing that I should be judged by you, or by a man's day. But neither do I judge myself. ⁴ For I know nothing of myself, but I have not been justified by this; but He judging me is the Lord.

⁴ He is wise in heart and mighty in strength; who has been hard against Him, and been at peace?

¹⁹ If I speak of strength, behold, He is mighty; and if of judgment, who can summon me?

³³ there is no mediator between us, who might lay his hand on both of us. ³⁴ Let Him take His rod away from me, and let not His dread make me afraid;

²¹ Remove Your palm from me, and let not Your terror make me afraid.

³ You answered me in the day that I cried; You emboldened me in my soul with strength.

⁴ Fury is not in Me. Who will give Me briers and thorns in the battle? I will step through it; I would burn it at once.

⁸ You will contend with her by driving her away, by sending her away. He shall take away by His harsh wind, in the day of the east wind.

³³ As I live, says the Lord Jehovah, Surely with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out, I will reign over you.

³⁵ And I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and I will be judging face to face there with you.

⁹ And He said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness. Therefore, I will rather gladly boast in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may overshadow me. ¹⁰ Because of this, I am pleased in weaknesses, in insults, in dire needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for the sake of Christ. For when I may be weak, then I am powerful.

¹⁵ Though I were righteous, I could not answer Him; I seek mercy for my judgment.

¹⁸ Come now and let us reason together, says Jehovah: Though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red as the crimson, they shall be like wool.

⁵ Will He keep His anger forever? Or will He guard it to the end? Behold, you have spoken, and you have done all the evil things that you could.

¹ Righteous are You, O Jehovah, when I might complain to You, yet let me speak with You of Your judgments. Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why are all those who deal treacherously at ease?

¹⁹ But we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those within the Law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world be under judgment to God. ²⁰ Because by works of law not one of all flesh will be justified before Him, for through law is full knowledge of sin. Psa. 143:2 ²¹ But now a righteousness of God has been revealed apart from Law, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, ²² even the righteousness of God through faith of Jesus Christ toward all and upon all those believing; for there is no difference,

¹ There is therefore now no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to flesh, but according to Spirit.

³³ Who will bring any charge against God's elect? God is the One justifying! ³⁴ Who is he condemning? It is Christ who has died, but rather also is raised, who also is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.

¹¹ Behold, He goes by me, and I do not see Him; and He passes on, but I do not perceive Him.

¹⁴ How much less when you say you do not see Him! Judgment is before Him, and you are waiting for Him.

¹ Why do You stand far away, O Jehovah? Will You hide in times of distress?

¹ To the chief musician. A Psalm of David. Until when will You forget me, O Jehovah? Forever? Until when will You hide Your face from me? ² Until when shall I set counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart every day? Until when shall my enemy be lifted up over me? ³ Look! Answer me, O Jehovah, my God! Make my eyes gleam, lest I sleep the death;

¹⁵ Truly, You are a God who hides Himself, O God of Israel, the Savior.

¹⁶ the only One having immortality, living in light that cannot be approached, whom no one of men saw, nor can see; to whom be honor and everlasting might. Amen.

⁴⁶ O Jehovah, until when will You hide Yourself? Shall Your wrath burn like fire forever?

¹⁷ And I will wait on Jehovah, who hides His face from the house of Jacob; and I will look for Him.

¹⁹ For I have known him, so that whatever he may command his sons and his house after him, even they may keep the way of Jehovah, to do righteousness and justice; to the intent that Jehovah may bring on Abraham that which He has spoken of him.

² And you shall remember all the way which Jehovah your God has caused you to go these forty years in the wilderness, in order to humble you, to try you, to know that which is in your heart, whether you will keep His commandments or not.

³ I pray to You, O Jehovah, please remember how I have walked always before your face in truth, and with a perfect heart, and I have done the good in Your eyes. And Hezekiah wept with a great weeping.

¹¹ But put out Your hand now, and touch against all that is his, and see if he will not then curse You to Your face. ¹² And Jehovah said to Satan, Behold, all that is his is in your hand! Only, do not lay your hand on him. And Satan went out from the face of Jehovah.

⁵ But indeed put out Your hand now and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse You to Your face. ⁶ And Jehovah said to Satan, Behold, He is in your hand; but preserve his life.

⁵ I have heard of You by hearing of the ear, but now my eye has seen You; ⁶ Therefore, I despise myself, and I have repented on dust and ashes. ⁷ And it happened, after Jehovah spoke these words to Job, Jehovah said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My anger flows against you and your two friends. For You have not spoken the right about Me, as My servant Job. ⁸ And now take for you seven young bulls and seven rams and go to My servant Job, and offer a burnt offering for yourselves. And My servant Job will pray for you. Surely I will lift up his face so as not to do with you according to your folly, in that you have not spoken the right about Me, as My servant Job.

⁶ For Jehovah is knowing the way of the righteous, and the way of the wicked shall perish.

³ You will test my heart; You will visit in the night; You will refine me; You will find nothing; my thoughts do not pass beyond my mouth.

¹⁰ For You, O God, have proved us; You have tested us as silver is refined.

¹ To the chief musician. A Psalm of David. O Jehovah, You have searched me and known me . ² You know my sitting down, and my rising up; You understand my thought from afar off. ³ You sift my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways.

³ The refining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold, but Jehovah tries the hearts.

⁹ And I will bring the third part through the fire, and I will refine them as silver is refined. And I will try them as gold is tried. They shall call on My name, and I will answer them. I will say, It is My people, and they shall say, Jehovah is my God.

² But who can endure the day of His coming? And who will stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner's fire and like fuller's soap. ³ And He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; and He shall purify the sons of Levi and purge them like gold and like silver, that they may be presenters of a food offering in righteousness to Jehovah.

¹⁷ Thirdly, He said to him, Simon son of Jonah, do you love Me? Peter was grieved that He said to him a third time, Do you love Me? And he said to him, Lord, You perceive all things, You know that I love You! Jesus said to him, Feed My sheep!

¹⁹ However, the foundation of God stands firm, having this seal, " The Lord knew those being His;" Num. 16:5, also, Let everyone naming the name of Christ depart from unrighteousness.

¹⁷ By faith, being tested, Abraham offered up Isaac; and he receiving the promises was offering up the only begotten,

² My brothers count it all joy when you fall into various trials, ³ knowing that the proving of your faith works patience. ⁴ But let patience have its perfective work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

¹² Blessed is the man who endures temptation, because having been approved he will receive the crown of life which the Lord promised to the ones loving Him.

⁷ so that the proving of your faith, much more precious than perishing gold, but having been proved through fire, may be found to praise and honor and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

² And now, behold, the king is walking before you, but I am old and gray. And, behold, my sons, they are with you. And I have walked before your face from my youth until this day. ³ Behold, I am here! Testify against me before Jehovah and before His anointed: Whose ox have I taken, and whose ass have I taken, and whom have I offended? Whom have I abused, and from whose hand have I taken a bribe that I might hide my eyes with it; and I will give back to you. ⁴ And they said, You have not oppressed us, and you have not abused us, and you have not taken from the hand of any man. ⁵ And he said to them, Jehovah is witness against you, and His anointed is witness this day, that you have not found anything in my hand. And they said, He is witness.

⁹ And the righteous shall hold firmly on his way; and he of clean hands adds strength.

⁵ My steps have kept in Your tracks, so that my strides have not slipped.

²⁰ Jehovah rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands, He has repaid me. ²¹ For I have kept the ways of Jehovah, and have not wickedly departed from my God. ²² For all His judgments were before me, and I did not turn away His statutes from me. ²³ For I was upright with Him, and kept myself from my guilt. ²⁴ And Jehovah has returned to me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands before His eyes.

³ The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit; he ceases to act wisely, to do good.

¹⁸ Our heart has not turned back, and our steps have not swerved from Your way,

⁵ And those who turn aside to their crooked ways, Jehovah shall lead them with the evildoers. Peace be upon Israel.

⁶ and those drawing back from after Jehovah, and who have not sought Jehovah, nor asked of Him.

¹³ And those on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the Word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a time, and in time of trial draw back. ¹⁴ And those falling in the thorns, these are those hearing, but under cares and riches and pleasures of life, having moved along, they are choked, and do not bear to maturity. ¹⁵ And those in the good ground, these are the ones who in a right and good heart, hearing the Word, they hold it and bear fruit in patience.

¹⁸ And when they came to him, he said to them: You understand, from the first day on which I set foot in Asia, how I was with you all the time, ¹⁹ serving the Lord with all humility, and many tears and trials happening to me by the plots of the Jews;

³³ I have desired the silver, or gold, or clothing of no one. ³⁴ But you yourselves know that these hands ministered to my needs, and to those who were with me.

⁷ everlasting life truly to those who with patience in good work are seeking glory and honor and incorruptibility;

¹² For our glorying is this, the testimony of our conscience, that we had our conduct in the world in simplicity and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom, but in the grace of God, and more abundantly toward you.

¹⁰ You and God are witnesses how holily and righteously and blamelessly we were to you, those believing;

²⁰ For if by a full knowledge of the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, they have escaped the defilements of the world, and again being entangled they have been overcome by these, then their last things have become worse than the first. ²¹ For it was better for them not to have fully known the way of righteousness, than fully knowing to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. ²² But the word of the true proverb has happened to them: " The dog turning to his own vomit;" also, the washed sow to wallowing in mud. Prov. 26:11

¹⁰ And it is yet my comfort; and I would exult in pain not spared; for I have not hidden the words of the Holy One.

²² Now receive the law from His mouth and put His words in your heart.

⁹ The fear of Jehovah is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of Jehovah are true, they are righteous altogether. ¹⁰ They are more precious than gold, even much fine gold, and sweeter than honey and drops from the honeycomb.

¹¹ I have hidden Your word in my heart, that I might not sin against You.

¹⁰³ How sweet are Your words to my palate! More than honey to my mouth!

¹²⁷ So I have loved Your commands, more than gold, even fine gold.

¹⁶ Your words were found and I ate them; and Your Word was to me the joy and gladness of my heart. For I am called by Your name, O Jehovah, God of hosts.

⁴² And the Lord said, Who then is the faithful and wise steward whom the lord will set over his house servants, to give the portion of food in season?

⁴⁶ the lord of that slave will come in the day in which he does not expect, and in an hour which he does not know. And he will cut him apart and will put his portion with the unbelievers.

³² But He said to them, I have food to eat which you do not know.

³⁴ Jesus said to them, My food is that I should do the will of Him who sent Me, and that I may finish His work.

⁶⁶ From this time many of His disciples went away into the things behind, and no longer walked with Him. ⁶⁷ Therefore, Jesus said to the Twelve, Do you also wish to go? ⁶⁸ Then Simon Peter answered Him, Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of everlasting life. ⁶⁹ And we have believed and have known that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.

³¹ Then Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in Him, If you continue in My Word, you are truly My disciples.

²² confirming the souls of the disciples, exhorting to continue in the faith, and that through many afflictions we must enter into the kingdom of God.

³⁸ "But the just shall live by faith;" "and if he draws back," "My soul is not pleased in him." Hab. 2:4 ³⁹ But we are not of those withdrawing to destruction, but of faith, to the preservation of the soul.

² as newborn babes desire the pure soul-nourishing milk, that you may grow by it;

¹⁹ They went out from us, but they were not of us. For if they were of us, they would have remained with us; but they left so that it might be revealed that they all are not of us.

¹⁹ God is not a man that He should lie, or a son of man that He should repent. Has He said, and shall He not do it? And has He spoken, and shall He not make it good? ²⁰ Behold, I have received word to bless; yes, He has blessed; I cannot reverse it.

¹² Behold, He takes away; who can turn Him back? Who will say to Him, What are You doing? ¹³ God will not withdraw His anger; the helpers of pride stoop under Him.

¹⁰ If He passes through and shuts up, or gathers together, then who can turn Him back?

¹⁴ Behold, He breaks down, and no one builds; He shuts against a man, and no one opens.

²⁹ And He gives rest; who then can condemn? And when He hides His face, who then can see Him? Even it may be against a nation and a man together,

³ But our God is in Heaven; He has done all that He has pleased.

⁶ Every thing which Jehovah was pleased to do, He did, in the heavens and in the earth; and in the seas and all deep places.

²¹ Many purposes are in a man's heart, but the counsel of Jehovah shall stand.

¹⁵ What is crooked cannot be made straight; and that lacking cannot be numbered.

¹⁴ I know that whatever God does, it shall be forever; nothing is to be added to it, and nothing is to diminish from it. And God does it so that they fear before Him.

²⁴ Jehovah of Hosts has sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so it shall be; and as I have purposed, it shall rise up; ²⁵ to break Assyria in My land, and trample him on My mountains. Then his yoke shall depart from them, and his burden shall depart from his shoulders. ²⁶ This is the purpose that is purposed on all the earth; and this the hand that is stretched out on all the nations. ²⁷ For Jehovah of Hosts has purposed. And who shall reverse it ? And His hand is stretched out. Who shall turn it back?

¹⁰ declaring the end from the beginning, and from the past those things which were not done, saying, My purpose shall rise; and, I will do all My desire;

³⁵ And all the inhabitants of the earth are counted as nothing. And He does according to His will among the army of Heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth. And no one is able to strike His hand or say to Him, What are You doing?

¹⁹ You will then say to me, Why does He yet find fault? For who has resisted His will?

⁹ making known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, ¹⁰ for the administration of the fullness of the times to head up all things in Christ, both the things in the heavens, and the things on earth, in Him, ¹¹ in whom we also have been chosen to an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of the One working all things according to the counsel of His own will,

¹⁷ every act of good giving and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom is no change or shadow of turning.

³ so I am caused to inherit months of vanity; and weary nights are appointed to me.

¹⁹ Your way is in the sea; and Your path is in the great waters; and Your footsteps are not known.

² Clouds and darkness are all around Him; righteousness and judgment are the foundation of His throne.

²⁷ Why will you say, O Jacob, and speak, O Israel; My way is hidden from Jehovah, and my judgment is passed over by my God? ²⁸ Have you not known? Have you not heard? Jehovah, the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth; He is not faint, nor does He grow weary; there is no searching to His understanding.

⁹ The voice of Jehovah calls out to the city; and one of sound wisdom will see Your name. Hear the rod, and Him who appointed it.

³³ O the depth of the riches and of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!

³ that no one be drawn aside by these afflictions. For you yourselves know that we are appointed to this.

⁹ because God has not appointed us to wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

⁸ and a Stone-of-stumbling, and a Rock-of-offense" to those disobeying, stumbling at the word, to which they were also appointed. Isa. 8:14

¹⁵ If I am wrong, woe to me! And if I am righteous, I will not lift up my head, being filled with shame and seeing my pain.

³ Oh that I knew where I might find Him, I would come into His seat;

²³ for trouble from God is a terror to me, and I could not do the thing because of His majesty.

³ I remember God and am troubled; I meditate and my spirit faints. Selah.

¹²⁰ My flesh has shivered because of Your fear; and I have feared Your judgments.

¹⁶ I heard, and my belly trembled; my lips quivered at the sound. Rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled within myself that I might rest for the day of distress; to come up against the peoples; he cuts him off.

³ and say to them. Hear, Israel, you are drawing near today to battle against your enemies. Do not let your heart be faint; do not fear nor tremble, nor be terrified before their faces.

²⁰ And she said to them, Do not call me Naomi. Call me Mara, for the Almighty has dealt bitterly with me.

² As God lives, He has taken away my judgment; yea, the Almighty has made my soul bitter.

¹⁴ I am poured out like waters, and all My bones are spread apart; My heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of My bowels.

¹⁶ Your fierce wrath goes over me; Your terrors have cut me off.

⁵ Then I said, Woe is me! For I am cut off; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I live amongst a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, Jehovah of Hosts.

¹⁶ For I will not contend forever, nor will I always be angry, for the spirit would faint before Me, even the breaths I have made.

⁴⁶ And that your heart not faint, and you fear the report that shall be heard in the land, the report shall come in a year. And after that the report shall come in another year, and there shall be violence in the land, ruler against ruler.

¹⁵ Alas for the day! For the day of Jehovah is at hand. And it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.

²⁰ Behold! Even so I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered into your grave in peace; and your eyes shall not see all the evil which I will bring on this place. And they brought back this word to the king.

⁹ and God would be willing and crush me; let loose His hand and cut me off?

²² He does not believe in a return from darkness, but he is awaited by the sword.

⁶ The light shall be dark in his tent; and his lamp shall be put out above him;

¹⁸ They push him from light to darkness, and they make him flee from the world.

⁸ He has fenced up my path so that I cannot pass; and He has set darkness on my paths.

¹¹ or darkness, so that you cannot see, and a flood of waters covers you.

¹ The righteous one perishes, and no one lays it to heart; yea, merciful men are gathered, with no one discerning that the righteous is gathered from the face of evil.
