⁵² My haters have hunted me like a bird without cause.

¹⁰ See, this day your eyes have seen how Jehovah has delivered you today into my hand in the cave. And one said to kill you, but I had pity on you. And I said, I shall not put out my hand against my lord, for he is the anointed of Jehovah. ¹¹ And my father, behold! Yes, see the skirt of your robe in my hand. For in that I cut off the skirt of your robe, and did not kill you, know and see that there is neither evil nor transgression in my hand, and I have not sinned against you. Yet you are hunting my soul, to take it. ¹² Jehovah shall judge between you and me, and Jehovah shall avenge me of you. But my hand shall not be on you. ¹³ As the proverb of the ancients says, Wickedness proceeds from the wicked. But my hand shall not be on you. ¹⁴ After whom has the king of Israel come out? After whom are you pursuing? After a dead dog? After a flea? ¹⁵ Yea, Jehovah shall be judge, and shall judge between you and me. Yea, He shall see and contend for my cause, and shall deliver me out of your hand.

²⁸ I beg you, bear with the transgression of your handmaid, for Jehovah shall certainly make a sure house for my lord. For my lord has fought the battles of Jehovah, and evil has not been found in you all your days. ²⁹ And if a man rises up to pursue you, and to seek your soul (and the soul of my lord has been bound up in the bundle of life with Jehovah your God). And the souls of your enemies, He shall sling them from the hollow of the sling.

¹⁸ And he said, Why is this, that my lord is pursuing his servant? For what have I done, and what in my hand is evil? ¹⁹ And now, please let my lord the king hear the words of his servant. If Jehovah has moved you against me, let Him accept an offering. And if the sons of men, they are cursed before Jehovah; for they have driven me out today from joining myself with the inheritance of Jehovah, saying, Go, serve other gods. ²⁰ And now, let not my blood fall to the earth before the face of Jehovah, for the king of Israel has come out to seek a flea, as one hunts the partridge in the mountains.

¹ To the chief musician. A Psalm of David. I sought refuge in Jehovah; how can you say to my soul, Flee like a bird to your hill.

⁷ For they have hidden their pit-net for me without cause; without cause they have dug for my soul.

¹⁹ Let not my lying enemies rejoice over me, do not let those who hate me without cause wink with the eye.

⁴ They who hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head; they who would destroy me are mighty, my lying enemies; then I restored what I did not take by violence.

³ And they hemmed me in with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause.

¹⁶¹ Shin. Princes have persecuted me without cause; but my heart has feared at Your word.

¹⁵ And the rulers were angry with Jeremiah and struck him, and they put him in the house of binding, the house of Jonathan the scribe. For they had made it into a prison house. ¹⁶ When Jeremiah had gone into the house of the pit, and into the cells, then Jeremiah remained there many days.

¹⁸ And Jeremiah said to king Zedekiah, What have I sinned against you, or against your servants, or against this people, that you have put me into the prison house?

⁴ And the rulers said to the king, Please let this man be put to death. For in this way he weakens the hands of the men of war who remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking these words to them. For this man does not seek the peace of this people, but the evil. ⁵ And Zedekiah the king said, Behold, he is in your hand. For. the king cannot do anything against you. ⁶ And they took Jeremiah and threw him into the pit of Malchiah, the king's son, which was in the court of the guardhouse. And they let Jeremiah down with ropes. But no water was in the pit, only mud. So Jeremiah sank into the mud.

²⁵ But that may be fulfilled the Word that has been written in their Law, "They hated Me without a cause." Psa. 69:4
