⁵⁰ the lord of that slave will come in a day in which he does not expect and in an hour which he does not know,

¹ A man who hardens his neck when reproved shall be suddenly broken, and there will be no healing.

⁴² Watch, then, for you do not know in what hour your Lord comes. ⁴³ But know this, that if the housemaster had known in what watch the thief comes, he would have watched and not have allowed his house to be dug through. ⁴⁴ Because of this, you also be ready, for in that hour you think not, the Son of man comes.

² For you yourselves know accurately the day of the Lord comes as a thief in the night. ³ For when they say, Peace and safety! Then suddenly destruction comes upon them, like travail to the pregnant woman, and they shall not at all escape.

³ Then remember how you received and heard, and keep, and repent. If, then, you do not watch, I will come upon you like a thief and you will not at all know what hour I come upon you.
