¹ A man who hardens his neck when reproved shall be suddenly broken, and there will be no healing. ² When the righteous increase, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people sigh. ³ He who loves wisdom gladdens his father, but a feeder of harlots wastes wealth. ⁴ A king establishes a land by justice, but he taking bribes tears it down. ⁵ A man who flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his steps. ⁶ A snare is in the transgression of an evil man, but the righteous sing and rejoice. ⁷ The righteous attends to the cause of the weak; the wicked does not discern knowledge. ⁸ Scornful men puff against a city, but the wise turn away anger. ⁹ If a wise man disputes with a foolish man, either he shakes, or laughs, and there is no rest. ¹⁰ Men of blood hate the blameless, but the upright seek his soul. ¹¹ A fool brings out all of his spirit, but holding back, the wise quiets it. ¹² To a ruler who listens to lying words, all his ministers are wicked. ¹³ The poor and the injurious man meet together. Jehovah enlightens the eyes of both. ¹⁴ A king that truly judges the weak shall have his throne established forever. ¹⁵ The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a boy sent off causes shame to his mother. ¹⁶ When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increases; but the righteous shall see their fall. ¹⁷ Correct your son, and you will get rest, and it will give delight to your soul. ¹⁸ Where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained. But blessed is he, the keeper of the law. ¹⁹ A servant is not corrected by words; though he discerns, there is no answer. ²⁰ Do you see a man hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than of him. ²¹ He pampering his servant from youth, even afterwards in his days he shall be his successor. ²² An angry man stirs up contention, and a furious one abounds in transgression. ²³ The pride of man brings him low, but the humble of spirit takes hold of honor. ²⁴ He who shares with a thief hates his soul; he hears an oath, but does not tell it . ²⁵ The fear of man brings a snare, but he trusting Jehovah is set on high. ²⁶ Many seek the face of the ruler, but the judgment of each man is from Jehovah. ²⁷ An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous, and the upright of way are an abomination to the wicked.

²⁵ If a man sins against a man, then God shall judge him. But if a man sins against Jehovah, who shall pray for him? But they did not listen to the voice of their father, because Jehovah desired to execute them.

³⁴ And this shall be the sign to you, that which shall come on your two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas: in one day the both of them shall die.

¹ And Elijah the Tishbite, of the sojourners of Gilead, said to Ahab, As Jehovah the God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall be no dew nor rain these years, except according to my word.

¹⁸ And he answered, I have not disturbed Israel, but you and the house of your father, in that you have forsaken the commands of Jehovah, and you have gone after the Baals.

⁴² And he said to him, So says Jehovah, Because you have sent away the man I had devoted from your hand, therefore your life shall go for his life, and your people for his people.

²⁰ And Ahab said to Elijah, Have you found me, O my enemy? And he said, I have found you, because you have sold yourself to do that which is evil in the eyes of Jehovah. ²¹ Behold, I shall bring evil on you, and shall take away your posterity, and cut off to Ahab him who urinates against a wall, both bond and free in Israel. ²² And I shall give up your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, because of the provocation with which you have provoked to anger, and have caused Israel to sin. ²³ And also Jehovah has spoken of Jezebel, saying, The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel.

²⁰ And Jehovah said, Who shall entice Ahab, and he shall go up and fall in Ramoth-gilead? And this one said this, and this one said that. ²¹ And a spirit came forth and stood before Jehovah, and said, I surely will entice him. ²² And Jehovah said to him, By what means? And he said, I will go out and shall be a spirit of falsehood in the mouth of all his prophets. And He said, You shall entice him, and also you are able. Go out and do so. ²³ And now, behold, Jehovah has put a spirit of falsehood in the mouth of all these prophets of yours; and Jehovah has spoken evil as to you!

²⁸ And Micaiah said, If you at all return in peace, Jehovah has not spoken by me. And he said, Hear, O people, all of them.

³⁴ And a man drew a bow in his simplicity, and he struck the king of Israel between the joints and the breastplate. And he said to his charioteer, Turn your hand and take me out from the battle, for I have been wounded. ³⁵ And on that day the battle went on, and the king was caused to stand up in the chariot against Syria. And he died in the evening, and the blood of the wound poured out into the middle of the chariot. ³⁶ And the cry passed through the camp when the sun went, saying, Each to his city, and each to his land. ³⁷ And the king died, and came to Samaria. And they buried the king in Samaria.

¹⁶ And it happened, as he spoke with him, that he said to him, Have we appointed you a counselor to the king? Stop! Why should they strike you? And the prophet stopped, and said, I know that God has counseled to destroy you because you have done this, and have not listened to my counsel.

¹⁰ And Jehovah spoke to Manasseh and to his people, and they did not listen.

¹³ And also he rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God; and he stiffened his neck and hardened his heart from turning to Jehovah the God of Israel.

¹⁵ And Jehovah, the God of their fathers, sent to them by the hand of His messengers, rising early and sending, for He had pity on his people and on His dwelling place. ¹⁶ But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised His words, and scoffed at His prophets until the wrath of Jehovah went up against His people, until there was no healing. ¹⁷ And He caused the king of the Chaldeans to go up against them; and he killed their choice ones by the sword in the house of their holy place, and had no pity on the young man and the virgin, the old man and the very aged; He gave all into his hand.

²⁹ And You testified against them to bring them again to Your Law, but they seethed, and did not listen to Your commands, but were against Your judgments; they sinned in them, which if a man do, he shall live in them. And they gave a rebellious shoulder, and hardened their neck, and would not hear.

²⁴ Because I called, and you refused; I stretch out a hand, and none inclines, ²⁵ but you have ignored all my counsel, and you did not desire my warning. ²⁶ I also will laugh in your calamity, I will mock when your dread comes; ²⁷ when your dread comes like a storm; and your calamity arrives like a tempest, when distress and constraint come on you. ²⁸ Then they shall call on me, and I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me. ²⁹ Instead they hated knowledge and chose not the fear of Jehovah. ³⁰ They did not want my counsel; they despised all my reproof, ³¹ and they shall eat of the fruit of their own way and be filled with their own lusts.

¹⁵ On account of this, calamity shall come suddenly; he is broken quickly and there is no healing.

¹⁸ He who walks uprightly shall be saved, but he who is perverse in his ways shall fall at once.

¹³ So this iniquity shall be to you as a broken section falling, like the bulging out of a high wall, the breaking of which comes suddenly, in an instant. ¹⁴ And its smashing is as the smashing of a potter's vessel; when broken in pieces, he has no pity; for in its breaking there is not found a shard to carry fire from the hearth, nor to skim water from a well.

⁴ Because I knew that you are hard, and your neck is a sinew of iron, and your brow brass.

²³ But they did not obey nor bow down their ear, but they made their neck stiff, not to hear, nor to receive instruction.

³ From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, even to this day, this twenty three years, the word of Jehovah has come to me, and I have spoken to you, rising up early and speaking; but you have not listened. ⁴ And Jehovah has sent to you all His servants the prophets, rising early and sending, but you have not listened nor bowed your ear to hear, ⁵ saying, Now turn each one from his evil way and from the evil of your doings, and live on the land which Jehovah has given to you and to your fathers from forever even to forever.

³ It may be that they will listen, and each man turn from his evil way, that I may repent of the evil which I plan to do to them because of the evil of their doings. ⁴ And you shall say to them, So says Jehovah, If you will not listen to Me, to walk in My law which I have set before you, ⁵ to listen to the words of My servants the prophets whom I am sending to you, even rising up early and sending (but you have not listened),

¹³ So says Jehovah of Hosts, the God of Israel: Go and tell the men of Judah and the people of Jerusalem, Will you not receive instruction, to listen to My words? says Jehovah. ¹⁴ The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab are done, in which he commanded his sons not to drink wine. And to this day they do not drink, but obey their father's command. But I have spoken to you, rising early and speaking; and you did not listen to Me. ¹⁵ I have also sent to you all My servants the prophets, rising up early and sending, saying, Each man now return from his evil way, and amend your doings, and do not go after other gods to serve them, and you shall live in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers. But you have not bowed your ear, nor listened to Me. ¹⁶ Because the sons of Jonadab, the son of Rechab, have stood on the command of their father which he gave them, but this people has not listened to Me,

³ And you say to them, So says Jehovah of hosts: Turn to Me, says Jehovah of hosts, and I will turn to you, says Jehovah of hosts. ⁴ Do not be as your fathers, to whom the former prophets have proclaimed to them, saying, So says Jehovah of hosts: Turn now from your evil ways and your evil doings. But they did not hear or give heed to Me, says Jehovah. ⁵ Your fathers, where are they? And the prophets, do they live forever? ⁶ But My words and My statutes which I commanded My servants the prophets, did they not overtake your fathers? And they returned and said, As Jehovah of hosts purposes to do to us, according to our ways and according to our deeds, so He has done with us.

¹¹ But they refused to listen, and gave a stubborn shoulder, and they made their ears heavy from hearing. ¹² And they made their heart adamant from hearing the law and the words which Jehovah of hosts has sent by the former prophets through His Spirit. And great wrath was from Jehovah of hosts. ¹³ And it will be, just as He called, and they did not listen; so they called, and I did not listen, says Jehovah of hosts. ¹⁴ But I stormed them away on all the nations whom they did not know. And the land is desolated behind them, from passing and from returning; for they made the land of desire a waste.

²¹ And as they were eating, He said, Truly I say to you that one of you will betray Me. ²² And grieving exceedingly, they began to say to Him, each of them, Lord, not I am the one ? ²³ But answering, He said, The one dipping the hand with Me in the dish will betray Me. ²⁴ Indeed, the Son of man goes, as it has been written about Him. But woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed. It were good for him if that man was never born. ²⁵ And answering, the one betraying Him, Judas, said, Not I am the one, Rabbi? He said to him, You said it .

⁷⁰ Jesus answered them, Did I not choose you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is a devil! ⁷¹ But He spoke of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, for this one was about to betray Him, being one of the Twelve.

¹⁰ Jesus said to him, The one having been bathed has no need other than to wash the feet, but is wholly clean. And you are clean, but not all. ¹¹ For He knew the one betraying Him. For this reason He said, You are not all clean.

¹⁸ I do not speak concerning all of you; I know whom I chose out; but that the Scripture might be fulfilled, "The one eating the bread with Me lifted up his heel against Me." Psa. 41:9

²⁶ Jesus answered, It is he to whom I, having dipped the morsel, shall give it . And dipping the morsel, He gave it to Judas Iscariot, son of Simon.

¹⁸ Indeed, then, this one bought a field out of the reward of unrighteousness; and falling headlong, he burst in the middle, and poured out all his bowels.

²⁵ to take the share of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas fell, to go to his own place.

³ For when they say, Peace and safety! Then suddenly destruction comes upon them, like travail to the pregnant woman, and they shall not at all escape.

¹⁵ The runners went out, being burned by the king's word. And the decree was given in Shushan the palace. And the king and Haman sat down to drink. But the city, Shushan. was perplexed.

¹⁵ And Mordecai went out from before the king in apparel of the kingdom, of blue and white, and with a great crown of gold, and with a garment of fine linen and purple. And the city of Shushan rejoiced and was glad.

¹ Of Solomon. Give the King Your judgments, O God; and Your righteousness to the King's son. ² Your people He shall judge in righteousness, and Your poor in justice. ³ The mountains will lift up peace to the people; and the little hills through righteousness. ⁴ He shall judge the poor of the people; and He shall save the sons of the needy; and He shall crush the oppressor. ⁵ They shall fear You with the sun, and before the moon in all generations. ⁶ He shall descend like rain on the mown grass, like showers that water the earth. ⁷ In His days the righteous shall flourish, and plenty of peace, till the moon is not.

¹⁰ When the righteous prospers, the city rejoices; and at the wicked's perishing is singing.

¹² When the righteous rejoice, great is the glory, but when the wicked rise, a man will be sought for.

²⁸ When the wicked rise, a man hides himself; but when they perish, the righteous multiply.

⁵ There is an evil I have seen under the sun, sins which come from the face of the ruler:

¹ Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment. ² And a man shall be a hiding place from the wind, a shelter from the tempest, as streams of water in a dry place; like the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.

⁵ Behold, the days come, says Jehovah, that I will raise to David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and act wisely, and shall do justice and righteousness in the earth. ⁶ In His days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely. And this is His name by which He shall be called, Jehovah our Righteousness.

³ But Herod the king having heard this, he was troubled and all Jerusalem with him.

¹⁶ Then seeing that he was mocked by the wise men, Herod was greatly enraged, and having sent, he killed all the boys in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he exactly asked from the wise men.

¹⁵ And the seventh angel trumpeted. And there were great voices in Heaven, saying, The kingdoms of the world became our Lord's, even of His Christ; and He shall reign forever and ever.

⁸ Remove your ways far from her, and do not come near to the door of her house, ⁹ lest you give your honor to others, and your years to the cruel; ¹⁰ that strangers not be filled with your strength, and your labors be in the house of an alien,

²⁶ For on account of a woman, a harlot, a man comes to the last loaf of bread, and another man's wife hunts for the precious soul.

¹ The proverbs of Solomon: A wise son makes a father rejoice, but the foolish son is his mother's sorrow.

²⁰ A wise son makes a glad father, but a foolish man despises his mother.

¹⁷ A man who loves pleasure shall be poor, he who loves wine and oil shall not be rich.

²⁰ A desirable treasure and oil are in the dwelling of the wise, but a foolish man devours it.

¹⁵ My son, if your heart is wise, my heart shall rejoice, even I.

²⁴ The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice, and he who fathers a wise one shall even be glad in him. ²⁵ Your father and your mother shall be glad, and she who bore you shall rejoice.

¹¹ My son, become wise and give joy to my heart, so that I may return a word to him that taunts me.

⁷ He who keeps the law is a wise son, but he who is a feeder of gluttons shames his father.

¹⁹ He who cultivates his ground shall have plenty of bread, but one pursuing vanities shall have much poverty.

¹³ But the angel said to him, Do not fear, Zacharias, because your prayer was heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear a son to you, and you shall call his name John. ¹⁴ And he will be joy and exultation to you, and many will rejoice over his birth. ¹⁵ For he shall be great in the eyes of the Lord, and he shall not drink wine or strong drink. And he will be filled of the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb. ¹⁶ And he will turn many of the sons of Israel to the Lord their God. ¹⁷ And he will go out before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah "to turn the hearts of fathers to their children," and disobedient ones to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people having been prepared for the Lord. Mal. 4:5, 6

¹³ And not many days after, gathering up all things, the younger son went away to a distant country. And there he wasted his property, living dissolutely.

³⁰ But when this son of yours came, the one devouring your living with harlots, you killed the fattened calf for him.

¹³ And Samuel said to Saul, You have acted foolishly that you have not kept the command of Jehovah your God which He commanded you. For now Jehovah would have established your kingdom over Israel forever.

¹⁵ And David reigned over all Israel, and David executed justice and righteousness to all his people.

¹² And Solomon sat on the throne of his father David, and his kingdom was firmly established.

¹⁸ And he did the evil in the eyes of Jehovah; he did not turn aside from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who caused Israel to sin, all his days. ¹⁹ Pul the king of Assyria came against the land, and Menahem gave a thousand talents of silver to Pul, that his hand might be with him to confirm the kingdom in his hand. ²⁰ And Menahem brought out the silver from Israel, on all the mighty men of wealth, to give to the king of Assyria, fifty shekels of silver for each one; and the king of Assyria turned back and did not stay there in the land.

⁸ May Jehovah your God be blessed, who has delighted in you, to put you on His throne to be king for Jehovah your God. In the love of your God toward Israel, to make it stand forever, He has put you over them as king, to do judgment and righteousness.

¹⁴ Justice and righteousness are Your throne's foundation; mercy and truth go before Your face.

⁴ The king's strength also loves judgment; You establish uprightness; You worked judgment and righteousness in Jacob.

¹⁵ By me kings reign, and princes decree righteousness.

¹² It is an abomination for kings to commit wickedness, for the throne is made firm by righteousness.

⁸ A king who sits on the throne of judgment scatters away all evil with his eyes.

¹⁴ A king that truly judges the weak shall have his throne established forever.

⁷ There is no end to the increase of His government and of peace on the throne of David, and on His kingdom, to order it, and to sustain it with justice and with righteousness, from now and forever. The zeal of Jehovah of Hosts will do this.

⁸ So says Jehovah: In a favorable time I have answered You, and in a day of salvation I have helped You. And I will preserve You, and give You for a covenant of the people; to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolated inheritances;

¹³ Woe to him who builds his house without righteousness, and his upper rooms without justice. His neighbor serves without pay, and he does not give him his work; ¹⁴ who says, I will build myself a wide house and large upper rooms. And he cuts out windows for it and covers with cedar, and paints with vermilion. ¹⁵ Do you reign because you lust to excel in cedar? Did not your father eat and drink and do justice and righteousness? Then it was well for him. ¹⁶ He judged the cause of the poor and needy, then it was well. Was this not to know Me, says Jehovah? ¹⁷ But your eyes and your heart lust for nothing but your unjust gain, and to shed innocent blood, and oppression, and to do violence.

²⁰ And one who sends a tax exacter shall stand in his place, for the glory of the kingdom. But within a few days he will be broken, but not in anger and not in battle.

³ Both palms are on evil, to do it well. The ruler is asking for a bribe, also the judge. And the great one speaks the lust of his soul; he acts, and they weave it together.

¹⁷ And your servant said, Please let the word of my lord the king be comforting. For as a messenger of God, so is my lord the king, to understand the good and the evil. And Jehovah your God shall be with you. ¹⁸ And the king answered and said to the woman, Please do not hide from me the thing that I am asking you. And the woman said, Then let my lord the king speak. ¹⁹ And the king said, Is the hand of Joab with you in all this? And the woman answered and said, As your soul lives, my lord, O king, none shall turn to the right or to the left from all that my lord the king has spoken. For your servant Joab commanded me, and he put all these words in your servant's mouth. ²⁰ Your servant Joab has done this thing to turn about the face of the matter, and my lord is wise according to the wisdom of an angel of God, to know all that is in the land. ²¹ And the king said to Joab, Behold, now, I have done this thing. Then go, bring back the young man Absalom. ²² And Joab fell on his face to the earth, and bowed, and blessed the king. And Joab said, Today your servant has known that I have found grace in your eyes, my lord, O king, in that the king has done the word of his servant. ²³ And Joab rose up and went to Geshur, and brought Absalom to Jerusalem. ²⁴ And the king said, Let him turn to his house, and he shall not see my face. And Absalom turned to his house, and he did not see the king's face.

⁵ He informs against friends for a share; even his son's eyes shall be consumed.

⁹ For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is engulfing ruin; their throat is an open grave; they flatter with their tongue.

² They speak vanity, each man with his neighbor; with flattering lips and a double heart they speak.

¹⁷ For in vain the net is spread in the sight of every bird.

⁵ so that they may keep you from the strange woman, from the alien with her flattering words.

²¹ With the sum of her persuasion she turned him aside; with the flattering of her lips she forced him.

¹⁹ A revealer of secrets walks about as a gossip, so do not meddle with him who opens his lips wide.

²⁴ He who hates dissembles with his lips, for he lays up deceit in his inner being, ²⁵ when his voice is gracious, do not believe him, for he has seven hateful things in his heart.

²⁸ A lying tongue hates the ones it crushes, and a flattering mouth works stumbling.

¹³ From on high He has sent fire into my bones, and subdued it. He spread a net for my feet; He has turned me back; He gave me desolation. All the days I faint.

¹ Hear this, O priests, and listen, house of Israel. And give ear, house of the king. For the judgment is toward you, because you have been a snare to Mizpah, and a net spread on Tabor.

²⁰ And watching carefully, they sent spies, pretending themselves to be righteous, in order that they might seize upon a word of His, so as to deliver Him to the power and to the authority of the governor. ²¹ And they questioned Him, saying, Teacher, we know that you say and teach rightly, and do not receive a face, but you teach the way of God with truth.

¹⁸ For such ones do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth speaking and flattering they deceive the hearts of those without guile.

⁵ For neither were we then found with words of flattery, even as you know, nor with pretense of covetousness (God is witness),

¹ Then Moses and the sons of Israel sang this song to Jehovah, and spoke, saying, I will sing to Jehovah, for He is highly exalted. He has thrown the horse and his rider into the sea.

⁷ the steps of his strength shall be hampered; and his own counsel shall tumble him. ⁸ For he is sent into a net by his own feet; and he is walking on a snare; ⁹ the trap shall take him by the heel; a noose shall prevail over him; ¹⁰ the pitfall is hid for him in the ground, and a trap for him on the way.

⁶ He shall rain snares on the wicked; fire and brimstone and a scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.

¹¹ Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.

¹⁵ The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents of the righteous; the right hand of Jehovah works mightily.

¹⁶ And I will clothe her priests with salvation; and her saints shall surely shout.

²² His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be held with the cords of his sin.

⁵ The righteousness of the perfect shall make his way right, but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness. ⁶ The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them, but traitors shall be taken in their lust.

¹³ In the transgression of the lips is the snare of evil, but the righteous will come out from distress.

¹² For man also does not know his time. As the fish that are taken in the evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the trap, like them are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falls suddenly on them.

¹⁴ And He shall be for a sanctuary, and for a stone of stumbling, and for a rock of falling to the two houses of Israel; for a trap and for a snare to the dweller of Jerusalem. ¹⁵ And many among them shall stumble and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.

² through whom also we have had access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we glory on the hope of the glory of God. ³ And not only so, but we glory also in afflictions, knowing that affliction works out patience,

²⁶ and they may awake out of the snare of the Devil, having been taken captive by him, so as to do the will of that one.

² My brothers count it all joy when you fall into various trials,

⁸ whom having not seen, you love; in whom not yet seeing, but believing, you exult with unspeakable and having been glorified,

⁴ And we write these things to you, that your joy may be full.

⁹ And the young men of David came and spoke to Nabal according to all these words, in the name of David, and rested. ¹⁰ And Nabal answered David's servants and said, Who is David, and who the son of Jesse? The servants have multiplied today, who have broken away, a man from their masters. ¹¹ And shall I take my bread, and my water, and my meat which I have killed for my shearers, and give to men whom I have not known, from where they are?

¹⁶ I was father to the poor, and the cause which I did not know, I searched out.

¹³ If I despised the cause of my male slave or my slave-girl when they contended with me,

²¹ if I have lifted up my hand against the orphan, when I watched over my help in the gate;

⁷ And I will be glad and rejoice in Your mercy; for You have seen my affliction; You have known the distresses in my soul;

¹ To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. Blessed is he who acts wisely toward the poor; Jehovah will deliver him in the day of evil.

¹³ Whoever stops his ears at the cry of the poor, he himself shall also call, and shall not be answered.

⁸ Open your mouth for the dumb, in the cause of all the sons of those passing away. ⁹ Open your mouth, judge righteously, and defend the poor and needy.

²⁸ They have become fat; they shine. Yes, they pass over the deeds of the evil; they do not plead the cause, the cause of the orphan, that they may prosper. And they do not vindicate the right of the needy.

⁷ In you they have despised father and mother. In your midst they have dealt with the alien by oppression. In you they oppressed the widow and the orphan.

²⁹ The people of the land have used oppression and practiced robbery. And they troubled the poor and the needy, and they have oppressed the stranger without justice. ³⁰ And I sought among them a man to wall up a wall and stand in the breach before Me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none. ³¹ So I have poured out on them My disgust. With the fire of My wrath I consumed them. I have given their way on their heads, states the Lord Jehovah.

¹ And I said, Heads of Jacob and magistrates of the house of Israel, please hear. Is it not for you to know justice? ² Those hating good and loving evil, who pull their skin off them, and their flesh from their bones; ³ who also eat the flesh of My people, and cause their skin to come off from them; yea, they break their bones and shatter, like that in the pot, and as flesh in the midst of the kettle. ⁴ Then they shall cry out to Jehovah, but He will not answer them. He will even hide His face from them in that time, as they have done evil in their doings.

¹ Brothers, if a man is taken in some fault, you, the spiritual ones, restore such a one in the spirit of meekness, considering yourself, that you not also be tempted.

¹⁰ And now leave Me alone that My anger may glow against them, that I may consume them. And I will make you a great nation. ¹¹ And Moses prayed before the face of Jehovah his God, and he said, Why, O Jehovah, does Your anger glow against Your people whom You caused to go up from the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand? ¹² Why should the Egyptians say, For evil He has caused them to go up, to kill them in the mountains, and to consume them on the face of the earth? Turn from Your fierce anger and be moved to pity as to the evil to Your people. ¹³ Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, Your servants to whom You swore by Yourself, and You spoke to them, I will multiply your seed like the stars of the heavens, and all this land which I have said, I will give to your seed. And they shall possess it forever. ¹⁴ And Jehovah was moved to pity concerning the evil which He had spoken to do to His people.

⁴⁸ and stood between the dead and the living, and the plague was stayed.

¹¹ Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned My wrath away from the sons of Israel while he was zealous for My sake among them, so that I did not consume the sons of Israel in My jealousy.

¹⁸ And I fell down before Jehovah, as at the first, forty days and forty nights; I ate no bread and drank no water; because of all your sins which you had sinned, in doing that which was evil in the eyes of Jehovah, to make Him angry. ¹⁹ For I was afraid because of the anger and the fury with which Jehovah had been angry against you, to destroy you. And Jehovah listened to me at this time also. ²⁰ And Jehovah was very angry with Aaron, to destroy him, and I also prayed for Aaron at that time.

¹⁶ And the angel put forth his hand to Jerusalem, to destroy it. And Jehovah repented as to the evil, and said to the angel who was destroying among the people, Enough! Now drop your hand. And the angel of Jehovah was near the threshing-floor of Araunah the Jebusite. ¹⁷ And when he saw the angel who was striking among the people, David spoke to Jehovah and said, Behold, I have sinned. Yea, I have acted perversely. And these, the flock, what have they done? Now let your hand be on me, and on my father's house.

¹¹ A city is lifted up by the blessing of the upright, but by the wicked's mouth it is overthrown.

¹⁴ A king's fury is as messengers of death, but a wise man will cover it.

¹⁴ So hear the word of Jehovah, scornful men, rulers of this people in Jerusalem. ¹⁵ Because you have said, We have cut a covenant with death; and, We have made a vision with Sheol, when the overwhelming rod passes through it will not come to us for we have made the lie our refuge, and we have hidden in falsehood. ¹⁶ So, the Lord Jehovah says this: Behold, I place in Zion a Stone for a foundation, a tried Stone, a precious Cornerstone, a sure Foundation; he who believes shall not hurry. ¹⁷ And I will lay justice for a line, and righteousness for a plummet; and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of the lie; and the waters shall overflow the hiding place. ¹⁸ And your covenant with death shall be covered; and your vision with Sheol shall not rise up. When the overwhelming whip passes through, then you shall be for a trampling to it. ¹⁹ As often as it passes, it shall take you; for morning by morning it shall pass; and by day and by night, it shall only be a terror to understand the message. ²⁰ For the bed is shorter than one can stretch himself on; and the cover is narrower than one can wrap himself in. ²¹ For Jehovah shall rise up, as at Mount Perazim; He shall be stirred as in the Gibeon Valley; to do His work, His strange work; and to perform His task, His alien task. ²² So, then, do not be mockers, that your bonds not be made strong. For I have heard from the Lord Jehovah of Hosts that a full end is decreed on all the earth.

¹ Then Jehovah said to me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before Me, My soul could not be toward this people. Send them out from before My face; yea, let them go out.

³⁰ And I sought among them a man to wall up a wall and stand in the breach before Me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none.

² And it happened when it had made an end of eating the vegetation of the land, then I said, Lord Jehovah, I beg You, forgive. How can Jacob stand? For he is small. ³ Jehovah repented concerning this: It shall not be, says Jehovah. ⁴ The Lord Jehovah made me to see this: And, behold, the Lord Jehovah was calling to contend by fire. And it consumed the great deep, and it was devouring part of it. ⁵ Then I said, Lord Jehovah, I beg You, stop. How can Jacob stand? For he is small. ⁶ Jehovah repented concerning this: It shall not be, says the Lord Jehovah.

³⁹ But those passing by, blasphemed Him, shaking their heads, ⁴⁰ and saying, You destroying the Holy Place and building it in three days, if you are the Son of God, come down from the cross. ⁴¹ And in the same way, the chief priests with the scribes and elders, mocking, said, ⁴² He saved others; he is not able to save himself. If he is the king of Israel, let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe him. ⁴³ He trusted on God. Let Him rescue him now, if He desires him. For he said, I am Son of God.

⁴⁰ And those of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these things, and said to Him, Are we also blind? ⁴¹ Jesus said to them, If you were blind, you would have no sin. But now you say, We see; therefore, your sin remains.

⁴⁷ Then the chief priests and the Pharisees assembled a sanhedrin, and said, What are we doing, for this man does many miracles? ⁴⁸ If we let him alone this way, all will believe into him, and the Romans will come and will take away from us both the place and the nation. ⁴⁹ But a certain one of them, Caiaphas being high priest of that year, said to them, You know nothing, ⁵⁰ nor consider that it is profitable for us that one man die for the people, and not all the nation to perish.

¹⁵ who both killed the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, also driving us out, and not pleasing God, and being contrary to all men, ¹⁶ hindering us from speaking to the nations in order that they be saved, to fill up their sins always. But the wrath has come on them to the uttermost.

⁵ So also the tongue is a little member, and boasts great things. Behold, how little a fire kindles how large a forest! ⁶ And the tongue is a fire, the world of iniquity. So the tongue is set among our members, spotting all the body, and inflaming the course of nature, and having been inflamed by Hell.

¹⁵ And the prayer of faith will cure those being sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he may have committed sin, it will be forgiven him. ¹⁶ Confess faults to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous one has great strength, having been made effective. ¹⁷ Elijah was a man of like feeling to us, and he prayed in prayer for it not to rain; and it did not rain on the earth three years and six months. ¹⁸ And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth caused its fruit to sprout.

⁴ Answer not a fool according to his foolishness, lest you become like him, even you.

¹³ the beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness; and the end of his mouth is evil madness.

⁶ Do not give that which is holy to the dogs, nor throw your pearls before the pigs, that they should not trample them with their feet, and turning they may tear you.

¹⁷ and saying, We piped to you, and you did not dance; we mourned to you, and you did not wail. ¹⁸ For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He has a demon. ¹⁹ The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold, a gluttonous man and a wine drinker, and a friend of tax collectors, and of sinners. And wisdom was justified by her children.

⁵ And He did not look to Cain and to his offering. And Cain glowed greatly with anger, and his face fell. ⁶ And Jehovah said to Cain, Why have you angrily glowed, and why has your face fallen? ⁷ If you do well, is there not exaltation? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is toward you; but you should rule over it. ⁸ And Cain talked with his brother Abel. And it happened as they were in the field, Cain rose up against His brother Abel, and killed him.

¹¹ I repent that I made Saul reign as king, for he has turned back from following Me, and he has not risen to do my words. And Samuel was angry, and he cried to Jehovah all night.

³¹ For as long as the son of Jesse lives on earth you shall not be established, you and your kingdom. And now send and bring him to me, for he is a son of death. ³² And Jonathan answered his father Saul, and said to him, Why should he be put to death? What has he done? ³³ And Saul threw the spear at him, to strike him. And Jonathan knew that it had been determined by his father to kill David.

¹¹ And the king sent to call Ahimelech the priest, the son of Ahitub, and all his father's house, the priests in Nob. And they came, all of them, to the king. ¹² And Saul said, Now hear, son of Ahitub. And he said, I am here, my lord. ¹³ And Saul said to him, Why have you conspired against me, you and the son of Jesse by your giving bread and a sword to him, and to ask of God for him, to rise up against me, to lie in wait, as at this day? ¹⁴ And Ahimelech answered the king and said, And who among all your servants is as David the faithful, and son-in-law of the king; who does your bidding, and is honorable in all your house? ¹⁵ Have I today begun to ask of God for him? Far be it from me! Do not let the king lay anything against his servant, against any of my father's house, for your servant has known nothing of this, more or less. ¹⁶ And the king said, You shall surely die, Ahimelech, you and your father's house. ¹⁷ And the king said to the runners that stood by him, Turn and kill the priests of Jehovah, because their hand also is with David, and because they knew that he was fleeing, and did not reveal it in my ear. But the king's servants were not willing to put forth their hand to fall on the priests of Jehovah. ¹⁸ And the king said to Doeg, You turn and fall on the priests. And Doeg the Edomite turned and fell on the priests and killed eighty five men bearing a linen ephod in that day. ¹⁹ And he struck Nob, the city of the priests with the mouth of the sword, from man even to woman, from child even to suckling, and ox, and ass, and sheep, with the mouth of the sword. ²⁰ And one son escaped of Ahimelech the son of Ahitub. And his name was Abiathar, and he fled after David. ²¹ And Abiathar told David that Saul had killed the priests of Jehovah. ²² And David said to Abiathar, I knew on that day when Doeg the Edomite was there, that he certainly would tell Saul. I am accountable for all the lives of your father's house. ²³ Stay with me. Do not fear. For he who seeks my life seeks your life. For with me you will be under protection.

²⁰ And Ahab said to Elijah, Have you found me, O my enemy? And he said, I have found you, because you have sold yourself to do that which is evil in the eyes of Jehovah.

⁸ And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Yet one man, to seek Jehovah by him. But I hate him, for he does not prophesy good concerning me, but evil, Micaiah the son of Imlah. And Jehoshaphat said, let not the king say so.

⁷ And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, One man is still here, to seek Jehovah from him. But I hate him, for he does not prophesy good about me, but evil all his days. He is Micaiah the son of Imla. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.

¹⁵ Hear and give ear; do not be proud, for Jehovah has spoken. ¹⁶ Give glory to Jehovah your God before He brings darkness, and before your feet stumble on the dark mountains. Yea, while you look for light, He puts it into death shade, setting up deep gloom. ¹⁷ But if you will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for your pride. And my eye shall bitterly weep and run down with tears, because the flock of Jehovah was captured.

²⁰ Should evil be repaid for good? For they have dug a pit for my soul. Remember, I stood before You to speak good concerning them, to turn Your wrath from them.

¹⁴ And they said to him, You certainly know that Baalis, the king of the sons of Ammon, has sent Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, to strike your soul. But Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, did not believe them. ¹⁵ And Johanan, the son of Kareah, spoke to Gedaliah in Mispah secretly, saying, Please let me go, and I will strike Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, and a man shall not know. Why should he strike your soul, and all the Jews who are gathered to you be scattered, and the remnant of Judah perish? ¹⁶ But Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, said to Johanan, the son of Kareah, You shall not do this thing. For you speak falsely concerning Ishmael.

¹⁸ For John had said to Herod, It is not lawful for you to have the wife of your brother. ¹⁹ And Herodias held it against him, and desired to kill him, but was not able.

²⁴ And going out, she said to her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist. ²⁵ And immediately going in with haste to the king, she asked, saying, I desire that at once you give to me the head of John the Baptist on a platter. ²⁶ And becoming deeply grieved, but because of the oaths and those reclining together, the king did not wish to reject her. ²⁷ And the king sending a guardsman at once, he ordered his head to be brought. And going, he beheaded him in the prison,

³⁴ And Jesus said, Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing. And dividing His garments, they cast a lot. Psa. 22:18

³⁴ But I do not receive witness from man, but I say these things that you may be saved.

¹⁸ If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it has hated you. ¹⁹ If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, for this reason the world hates you.

⁶⁰ And placing the knees, he cried out with a loud voice, Lord, do not make stand this sin to them. And saying this, he fell asleep.

¹ Brothers, truly my heart's pleasure and supplication to God on behalf of Israel is for it to be saved.

¹² not as Cain was of the evil one, and killed his brother. And for what did he kill him? Because his works were evil, but the things of his brother were righteous. ¹³ Do not marvel, my brothers, if the world hates you.

¹⁷ that he told her all his heart, and said to her, No razor has come on my head, for I am a Nazirite to God from my mother's womb. If I were shaved, my strength would go away from me, and I would be weak, and be like any one of men.

¹⁶ A fool's vexation is known in a day, but the astute one covers shame.

²³ A wise man conceals knowledge, but the heart of fools calls out their folly.

³³ Wisdom rests in the heart of the intelligent, but among fools it is revealed.

¹¹ A man's discretion makes his anger slow, and his glory is to pass over a transgression.

¹³ So the understanding ones shall keep silent in that time, for it is an evil time.

⁵ Put no faith in a companion; put no trust in a friend; keep the door of your mouth from her who lies in your bosom;

⁸ that all of you have conspired against me, and no one was revealing in my ear when my son cut a covenant with the son of Jesse? And not one of you is sorry for me, even to reveal in my ear that my son has stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as at this day. ⁹ And Doeg the Edomite, even he was set over Saul's servants, answered and said, I saw the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to Ahimelech the son of Ahitub. ¹⁰ And he asked for him of Jehovah, and gave provisions to him, and gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine.

¹⁹ And the men of Ziph went to Saul, to Gibeah, saying, Is not David hiding himself with us in strongholds, in the forest, in the hill of Hachilah, which is south of the wilderness? ²⁰ And now, come down according to all the desires of your soul, O king. Come down, and our duty is to deliver him up into the king's hand. ²¹ And Saul said, You are blessed of Jehovah, for you have had pity on me. ²² Please go, make yet more sure, and know, and see his place where his foot is; who has seen him there, for one has said to me, He is very subtle. ²³ And see and know of all the hiding places where he hides himself. And you shall return to me ready, and I shall go with you, and it shall be, if he is in the land, that I shall search him out through all the thousands of Judah.

⁷ And Saul had a concubine, and her name was Rizpah the daughter of Aiah. And Ishbosheth said to Abner, Why have you gone in to my father's concubine? ⁸ And Abner was exceedingly angry over the words of Ishbosheth. And he said, Am I a dog's head, that I deal with kindness with the house of your father Saul in regards to Judah today, to his brothers, and to his friends, and have not caused you to be found in the hand of David, and you charge a stroke against me with this woman today? ⁹ May God do to Abner, and more so, if I do not do to David as Jehovah has sworn, ¹⁰ to cause to pass over the kingdom from the house of Saul, and to establish the throne of David over Israel and over Judah from Dan even to Beersheba. ¹¹ And he was not able to return a word to Abner any more, because he feared him.

⁵ And the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, Rechab and Baanah, went and came at the heat of the day to the house of Ishbosheth. And he was lying on his bed at noon. ⁶ And they came to the middle of the house, bringing wheat. And they struck him in the belly. And Rechab and his brother Baanah escaped. ⁷ And they entered house, and he was lying on his bed in his bedroom; and they struck him and killed him, and took off his head. And they took his head and went the way of the Arabah all the night. ⁸ And they brought Ishbosheth's head to David in Hebron, and said to the king, Behold, the head of Ishbosheth the son of your enemy Saul, who sought your life. And may Jehovah give to my lord the king vengeance this day, on Saul and on his seed. ⁹ And David answered Rechab and his brother Baanah, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, and said to them, As Jehovah lives, who has redeemed my life out of all distress, ¹⁰ when one spoke to me, saying, Behold Saul is dead, and he was as a bearer of good news in his own eyes; even I seized and killed him in Ziklag. I gave that to him as a reward. ¹¹ And when wicked men have slain a righteous man in his own house on his bed, should I not even now seek his blood from your hand, and glean you from the earth? ¹² And David commanded his young men. And they killed them, and cut off their hands and their feet, and hung them by the pool in Hebron. And they took the head of Ishbosheth and buried it in burying place of Abner in Hebron.

¹¹ And the men of his city, the elders and the nobles who lived in his city, did as Jezebel had sent to them, as was written in the letters that she sent to them. ¹² They proclaimed a fast, and made Naboth to sit at the head of the people. ¹³ And two men, sons of worthlessness, came in and sat across from him. And the men of worthlessness testified of him before the people, even Naboth, saying, Naboth has cursed God and the king. And they took him out to the outside of the city, and stoned him with stones. And he died.

⁶ And he wrote a letter to them a second time, saying, If you are for me, and are listening to my voice, take the heads of the men, the sons of your lord, and come to me about this time tomorrow, to Jezreel. And the king's sons, seventy persons, were with the great men of the city, who reared them. ⁷ And it happened, when the letter came to them, they took the sons of the king and killed them, seventy persons, and put their heads in baskets, and sent to him in Jezreel.

² Like a sharp razor, your tongue devises ruin, working deceit. ³ You love evil more than good; lying more than to speak righteousness. Selah. ⁴ You love all devouring words, O deceitful tongue!

⁵ Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, I will cut him off; I will not endure him who has high eyes and a proud heart. ⁶ My eyes shall be on the faithful of the land, so that they may dwell with me; he who walks in a perfect way shall serve me. ⁷ He who works falsely shall not live inside my house; he who speaks lies shall not be established before my eyes.

²³ The north wind brings rain, so does a secret tongue an angry face.

²⁵ If you lend money to My people, the poor with you, you shall not be as a money-lender to him; you shall not put interest on him. ²⁶ If you indeed take the clothing of your neighbor as a pledge, you shall return it to him by the going of the sun,

³⁵ And when your brother has become poor, and his hand has failed with you, then you shall help him. He shall live with you as an alien and a tenant. ³⁶ You shall take no interest from him, or increase; and you shall fear your God; and the life of your brother is with you. ³⁷ You shall not give silver to him with interest, and you shall not give your food for increase.

⁵ yet now our flesh is like the flesh of our brothers; as their sons, so are our sons; and, behold, we are bringing our sons and our daughters into bondage, to be slaves; yea, there are some of our daughters brought into bondage. And there is no power for our hand, and our fields and our vineyards are to other men. ⁶ And when I heard their cry, and these words, I was very angry. ⁷ Then my heart ruled within myself, and I contended with the nobles and the magistrates. And I said to them, You are each man lending at interest, from his brother. And I held a great assembly against them.

³ Look! Answer me, O Jehovah, my God! Make my eyes gleam, lest I sleep the death;

² The rich and poor meet together, Jehovah is the Maker of all of them.

⁴⁵ so that you may become sons of your Father in Heaven. Because He causes the sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and unjust.

⁹ And passing from there, Jesus saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, Follow Me. And rising up, he followed Him.

¹⁰ nor thieves, nor covetous ones, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor plunderers shall inherit the kingdom of God.

¹ and He worked in you who were once dead in trespasses and sins,

¹¹ For the ear heard, and blessed me; and the eye saw, and witnessed for me. ¹² For I delivered the poor who cried for help and the orphan who had no helper to him. ¹³ The blessing of the perishing came on me; and I made the widow's heart to sing. ¹⁴ I put on righteousness and it clothed me; my judgment was like a robe and a diadem. ¹⁵ I was eyes to the blind, and feet for the lame. ¹⁶ I was father to the poor, and the cause which I did not know, I searched out. ¹⁷ I broke the fangs of the perverse, and cast the prey out of his teeth. ¹⁸ Then I said, I shall die in my nest, and I shall multiply days like the sand.

² Your people He shall judge in righteousness, and Your poor in justice. ³ The mountains will lift up peace to the people; and the little hills through righteousness. ⁴ He shall judge the poor of the people; and He shall save the sons of the needy; and He shall crush the oppressor.

¹² For He shall save the needy who cries, and the poor with no helper. ¹³ He shall have pity on the poor and needy; and He saves the souls of the needy ones. ¹⁴ He shall redeem their souls from oppression and violence; and their blood shall be precious in His eyes.

² Until when will you judge unjustly, and lift up the faces of the wicked? Selah. ³ Judge the poor and fatherless; do justice to the afflicted and needy.

² For I have said, Mercy shall be built up forever; You shall establish Your faithfulness in the heavens.

²⁸ Mercy and truth preserve the king, and his throne is upheld by mercy.

⁵ Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne is established in righteousness.

¹⁶ The ruler that lacks understanding even adds oppressions, but he who hates unjust gain prolongs his days.

⁴ A king establishes a land by justice, but he taking bribes tears it down.

¹⁷ Learn to do good, seek justice, reprove the oppressor, judge the orphan, strive for the widow.

⁶ For a Child is born; to us a Son is given; and the government is on His shoulder; and His name is called Wonderful, Counselor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. ⁷ There is no end to the increase of His government and of peace on the throne of David, and on His kingdom, to order it, and to sustain it with justice and with righteousness, from now and forever. The zeal of Jehovah of Hosts will do this.

⁴ But He shall judge the poor in righteousness, and shall decide rightly for the meek of the earth. And He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, and He shall slay the wicked with the breath of His lips.

¹⁶ He judged the cause of the poor and needy, then it was well. Was this not to know Me, says Jehovah?

²⁷ So, O king, let my advice be pleasing to you: Even break off your sins by righteousness, and your iniquities by pitying the poor, whether there will be duration to your prosperity.

³² This One will be great and will be called Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. ³³ And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever; and of His kingdom there will be no end.

⁸ but as to the Son, "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom; ⁹ You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; because of this God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness beside Your fellows." Psa. 45:6, 7

⁶ And his father had not troubled him all his days, saying, Why have you done so? And he also was very good of form, and one had borne him after Absalom.

⁵ He who gathers in summer is a prudent son; he who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame.

²⁴ He who spares his rod hates his son, but he who loves him seeks him with correction.

²¹ He who fathers a fool has sorrow for it; yea, the father of a fool has no joy.

²⁵ A foolish son is a vexation to his father, and bitterness to her who bore him.

⁶ Train up a boy on the opening of his way, even when he is old, he will not turn aside from it.

¹⁵ Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a boy, the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.

¹³ Do not withhold correction from a boy, for if you strike him with the rod, he will not die. ¹⁴ You shall beat him with the rod, and you shall deliver him from Sheol.

¹⁷ Correct your son, and you will get rest, and it will give delight to your soul.

²¹ He pampering his servant from youth, even afterwards in his days he shall be his successor.

¹⁰ For they truly disciplined us for a few days according to the thing seeming good to them; but He for our profit, in order for us to partake of His holiness. ¹¹ And all discipline for the present indeed does not seem to be joyous, but grievous; but afterward it gives back peaceable fruit of righteousness to the ones having been exercised by it.

³⁴ Wait on Jehovah and keep His way, and He shall exalt you to inherit the earth; you shall see when the wicked are cut off.

³⁶ yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not; and I looked for him, but he could not be found.

¹⁰ The righteous shall rejoice when he sees vengeance; he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.

⁸ Only with your eyes you shall look, and see the reward of the wicked.

⁹ For, lo, Your enemies, O Jehovah; for, lo, Your enemies shall perish; all the evildoers shall be scattered.

¹¹ And my eye shall look on my enemies; my ears shall hear the evildoers who rise up against me.

⁸ His heart is upheld; he shall not be afraid though he looks on his foes.

² When the righteous increase, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people sigh.

⁴ Who will not fear You, Lord, and glorify Your name? For You only are holy. For all the nations will come and will worship before You, because Your righteousnesses were made known.

²⁰ Rejoice over her, Heaven, and the holy apostles, and the prophets, because God judged your judgment on her.

¹⁸ Chasten your son, for there is hope, and do not set your soul on making him die.

¹⁵ The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a boy sent off causes shame to his mother.

²⁵ And Moses saw the people, that it was unloosed, for Aaron had let it loose for a derision among their enemies.

¹ And the boy Samuel was serving Jehovah before Eli. And the word of Jehovah was rare in those days. There was no breaking-through vision.

¹⁹ For Jehovah had humbled Judah because of Ahaz the king of Israel, for he loosed immorality in Judah, and dealt treacherously against Jehovah.

¹ Blessed is the man who has not walked in the counsel of the ungodly, and has not stood in the way of sinners and has not sat in the seat of scorners. ² But his delight is only in the law of Jehovah, and he meditates in His law day and night.

¹¹ Also Your servant is warned by them; in keeping of them is great reward.

⁹ We did not see our signs; there is no longer a prophet; nor any among us who knows until when.

² Blessed are those keeping His testimonies, who seek Him with the whole heart.

¹⁶ He who keeps the commandment keeps his own soul, he who despises His ways shall die.

⁶ My people are cut off for lack of knowledge. Because you rejected the knowledge, I also rejected you from being priest to Me. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I will forget your sons, even I.

¹¹ Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord Jehovah, that I will send a famine into the land, not a famine for bread, nor a thirst for water, but rather a famine for hearing the words of Jehovah. ¹² And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to east; they shall roam about to seek the word of Jehovah, and they shall not find it .

³⁶ And seeing the crowds, He was moved with pity for them, because they were tired and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.

²⁸ But He said, No; rather, blessed are those hearing the Word of God, and keeping it.

¹⁷ If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.

²¹ He that has My commandments and keeps them, it is that one who loves Me; and the one that loves Me shall be loved by My Father, and I shall love him and will reveal Myself to him. ²² Judas said to Him, not the Iscariot, Lord, what has happened that You are about to reveal Yourself to us and not at all to the world? ²³ Jesus answered and said to him, If anyone loves Me, he will keep My Word, and My Father shall love him. And We will come to him and will make a dwelling place with him.

¹³ For everyone, "whoever may call on the name of the Lord will be saved." Joel 3:5 ¹⁴ How then may they call on One in whom they have not believed? And how may they believe One of whom they have not heard? And how may they hear without preaching? ¹⁵ And how may they preach if they are not sent? Even as it has been written, "How beautiful" "the feet of those announcing the gospel of peace, of those announcing the gospel of good things." Isa. 52:7

²⁵ But the one looking into the perfect law of liberty, and continuing in it, this one not having become a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in his doing.

¹⁴ Blessed are the ones doing His commands, that their authority will be over the Tree of Life, and by the gates they may enter into the city.

¹⁶ I called my servant, but he does not answer; I must beg him with my mouth.

³ A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the back of fools.

²² under a servant when he reigns, and a fool when he is filled with food,

²⁹ One slow to anger is of great understanding, but he who is short of spirit exalts folly.

⁵ The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenty, but those of every hasty one only to poverty.

¹² Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.

¹¹ A fool brings out all of his spirit, but holding back, the wise quiets it.

² Do not be hasty with your mouth, and do not let your heart hurry to bring forth a word before God. For God is in Heaven, and you are on earth; on account of this, let your words be few.

¹⁹ So that, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.

¹² Hatred stirs up fights, but love covers all transgressions.

¹⁷ He who is short of temper acts foolishly; and a man of evil plots is hated.

¹⁸ A furious man stirs up quarreling, but he who is slow to anger calms fighting.

¹⁹ He loving strife loves rebellion, he who exalts his door seeks shattering.

²⁴ Do not feed a possessor of anger, and do not go in with a man of fury,

²¹ As coal to burning embers, and wood to fire, so is a contentious man to kindle strife.

³³ Surely, the squeezing of milk brings curds, and the squeezing of the nose brings blood; so the squeezing of wrath brings out strife.

¹⁶ For where jealousy and contention are, there is confusion and every foul deed.

² And you shall remember all the way which Jehovah your God has caused you to go these forty years in the wilderness, in order to humble you, to try you, to know that which is in your heart, whether you will keep His commandments or not. ³ And He has humbled you, and caused you to hunger, and caused you to eat the manna, which you had not known, and your fathers had not known, in order to cause you to know that man shall not live by bread alone, but man shall live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of Jehovah.

¹⁶ who fed you with manna in the wilderness, which your fathers did not know; that He might humble you and that He might prove you, to do you good at your latter end;

²⁵ And Hezekiah did not return according to the benefit done to him, for his heart had been lifted up, and there was wrath on him and on Judah and Jerusalem. ²⁶ And Hezekiah was humbled for the pride of his heart, he and the people of Jerusalem, and the wrath of Jehovah did not come on them in the days of Hezekiah.

¹⁰ And Jehovah spoke to Manasseh and to his people, and they did not listen. ¹¹ And Jehovah brought against them the king of Assyria's army commanders, and they captured Manasseh with hooks, and bound him with bronze fetters, and made him go to Babylon. ¹² And when he was afflicted, he sought the face of Jehovah his God, and was humbled exceedingly before the face of the God of his fathers;

²³ And he did not bow before Jehovah, like the humbling of his father Manasseh, for Amon himself multiplied guilt. ²⁴ And his servants conspired against him and killed him in his own house;

²⁹ For they have humiliated you; and you shall say, Pride! And He shall save the lowly of eyes.

¹² look on everyone who is proud, and humble him, and trample the wicked in their place;

² Pride comes, then shame comes, but with the lowly is wisdom.

³³ The fear of Jehovah is instruction in wisdom, and before honor is humility.

¹⁸ Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

¹² Before shattering, a man's heart is haughty, but humility goes before honor.

¹¹ The lofty eyes of man shall be humbled, and the pride of men shall be bowed down; but Jehovah, He alone, will be exalted in that day. ¹² For the day of Jehovah of Hosts shall be on all the proud and lofty ones, and on all that is lifted up; and it will be abased;

¹⁵ For so says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, and His name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, even with the contrite and humble of spirit; to make live the spirit of the humble and to make live the heart of the contrite ones.

² And My hand has made all these things, even all these things exist, declares Jehovah. But I will look toward this one, to the afflicted, and to the contrite of spirit, even trembling at My word.

³⁰ The king spoke and said, is this not great Babylon that I have built for the house of the kingdom, by the might of my power, and for the honor of my majesty? ³¹ The word was still in the king's voice when a voice fell from the heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is declared: The kingdom has been taken from you! ³² And you shall be driven from men, and your dwelling shall be with the animals of the field. You shall be fed with the grass like oxen, and seven times shall pass over you until you know that the Most High is Ruler in the kingdom of men, and that He gives it to whomever He desires. ³³ The same hour the thing was fulfilled on Nebuchadnezzar. And he was driven from men, and he ate the grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of the heavens, until his hair had grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws . ³⁴ And at the end of the days, I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted up my eyes to the heaven, and my understanding returned to me, and I blessed the Most High. And I praised and honored Him who lives forever, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and His rule from generation to generation. ³⁵ And all the inhabitants of the earth are counted as nothing. And He does according to His will among the army of Heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth. And no one is able to strike His hand or say to Him, What are You doing? ³⁶ At that time my reason returned to me, and the glory of my kingdom, my majesty, and my brightness returned to me. And my advisers and my nobles sought to me. And I was reestablished in my kingdom, and excellent greatness was added to me. ³⁷ Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and honor the King of Heaven, for all His works are truth, and His ways are justice. And He is able to humble those who walk in pride.

²⁰ But when his heart was lifted up, and his mind hardened in pride, he was put down from the throne of his kingdom, and they took his glory from him. ²¹ And he was driven from the sons of men. And his heart was made like the animals, and his home was with the wild asses. They fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of the heavens, until he knew that the Most High God is Ruler in the kingdom of men, and that He appoints over it whomever He desires.

³ Blessed are the poor in spirit! For theirs is the kingdom of the Heavens.

⁴ Then whoever will humble himself as this little child, this one is the greater in the kingdom of Heaven.

¹² And whoever will exalt himself shall be humbled, and whoever will humble himself shall be exalted.

¹¹ For everyone exalting himself will be humbled, and the one humbling himself will be exalted.

¹⁴ I say to you, this one went down to his house having been justified, rather than that one. For everyone exalting himself will be humbled. And the one humbling himself will be exalted.

²³ And instantly an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give the glory to God. And having been eaten by worms, his soul went out.

⁶ But He gives greater grace. Because of this it says, "God sets Himself against proud ones, but He gives grace to humble ones." Prov. 3:34 ⁷ Then be subject to God. Resist the Devil, and he will flee from you. ⁸ Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, sinners! And purify your hearts, double minded ones! ⁹ Be distressed, and mourn, and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy into shame. ¹⁰ Be humbled before the Lord, and He will exalt you.

⁵ Likewise, younger ones be subject to older ones; and all being subject to one another. Put on humility, because God sets Himself "against proud ones, but He gives grace to humble ones." Prov. 3:34

¹ And when a person sins, and hears the voice of swearing, and he is a witness, or has seen, or has known, if he does not reveal it, then he shall bear his iniquity.

² And he said to his mother, The eleven hundred pieces of silver which were taken from you, and you uttered a curse, even also speaking in my ear; behold, the silver is with me. I have taken it. And his mother said, Blessed be my son by Jehovah.

¹⁸ When you saw a thief, you were pleased with him; and you have taken part with adulterers. ¹⁹ You give your mouth to evil, and your tongue frames deceit. ²⁰ You sit; you speak against your brother; the son of your mother; you give slander. ²¹ You have done these things, and I have kept silence; you thought that surely I would be like you; but I will rebuke you and set in order before your eyes. ²² Now think of this, you who forget God, lest I tear, and not any to deliver:

¹¹ If they say, Walk with us, let us lie in wait for blood, let us secretly lurk for the innocent without cause, ¹² let us swallow them up alive as Sheol; and whole, as those who go down into the Pit, ¹³ we shall find all precious goods; we shall fill our houses with plunder; ¹⁴ cast in your lot among us; one purse shall be to all of us. ¹⁵ My son, do not walk in the way with them! Hold back your foot from their path; ¹⁶ for their feet run to evil and they haste to shed blood. ¹⁷ For in vain the net is spread in the sight of every bird. ¹⁸ And they lie in wait for their own blood; they lurk secretly for their own souls. ¹⁹ So are the ways of everyone who gets unjust gain; it takes away its owner's soul.

³² He who commits adultery with a woman lacks heart; he who does it is a destroyer of his own soul.

³⁶ But he who sins against me does violence to his own soul; all who hate me love death.

³² He who ignores correction despises his own soul, but he who hears reproof gets understanding.

² The fear of a king is as the roar of a lion, he who stirs him up to anger wrongs his own soul.

²³ Your princes are rebellious and companions of thieves. Everyone loves a bribe, and is pursuing rewards. They do not judge the orphan, nor does the cause of the widow come to them,

¹⁷ And He taught, saying to them, Has it not been written, "My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations." "But you have made it a den of robbers."? Isa. 56:7; Jer. 7:11

¹¹ And it happened when he had drawn near to come to Egypt, he said to his wife Sarai, Behold, please, I know that you are a beautiful woman to look upon. ¹² And it will be, when the Egyptians see you, then they will say, This is his wife, and they will kill me, and they will save you alive. ¹³ Please say that you are my sister, so that it may be well with me for your sake, and my soul shall live because of you.

² And Abraham said with regards to his wife Sarah, She is my sister. And Abimelech the king of Gerar sent and took Sarah.

¹¹ And Abraham said, Because I thought, Surely the fear of God is not in this place, and they will kill me for my wife's sake.

⁷ And the men of the place asked about his wife. And he said, She is my sister, for he was afraid to say, My wife, lest the men of the place kill me on account of Rebekah, for she was beautiful of form.

²² And Aaron said, Let not anger of my lord glow. You know the people, that it is in evil. ²³ And they said to me, Make for us gods who may go before us; as for Moses, the man who caused us to go up from the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him. ²⁴ And I said to them, Whoever has gold, let them break off. And they gave to me, and I cast it into the fire, and this calf came out.

²⁴ And Saul said to Samuel, I have sinned, for I have transgressed the mouth of Jehovah and your word, because I feared the people, and I listened to their voice.

¹ And David said in his heart, I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul. Nothing is better for me than that I speedily escape to the land of the Philistines. And Saul will despair of me, to still seek me in all the border of Israel. And I shall escape out of his hand.

¹¹ David did not keep alive man or woman to bring news to Gath, saying, Lest they speak against us, saying, So David has done; And so has been his custom all the days that he has lived in the fields of the Philistines.

³ And he saw, and rose up and went for his life, and came to Beersheba of Judah, and left his young man there;

²⁰ And they were helped against them. And the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all who were with them. For they cried to God in the battle, and He was entreated for them, because they trusted in Him.

²⁹ But I am poor and in pain; O God, Your salvation shall set me on high.

¹⁴ Because he has set his love on Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set Him on high because He has known My name.

⁸ It is better to trust in Jehovah than to trust in man;

¹ A Song of Ascents. They who trust in Jehovah shall be like Mount Zion; it is not shaken; it remains forever.

²⁰ He who acts prudently shall find good, and he who trusts in Jehovah, Oh how happy is he!

¹⁰ The name of Jehovah is a tower of strength, the righteous runs into it and is set on high.

²⁵ The proud in soul stirs up strife, but he who is trusting on Jehovah shall be abundantly satisfied.

⁵ Every word of God is tested, He is a shield to those who seek refuge in Him.

¹⁸ It is good that you should take hold of this; yea, also from this do not let your hand rest; for he who fears God shall come forth with all of them.

¹¹ And whom have you dreaded and feared? You have lied and have not remembered Me, not laying it on your heart. Have I not been silent, even from forever, and you have not feared Me?

²⁸ {cf9 : Nebuchadnezzar spoke and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent His Angel and has delivered His servants who trusted in Him, and have changed the king's words, and have given their bodies that they might not serve nor worship any god except their own God.}

²³ Then the king was exceedingly happy for him. And he commanded to bring up Daniel from the den. And Daniel was brought out of the den, and no harm was found on him, because he trusted in his God.

²⁸ And you should not fear the ones killing the body, but not being able to kill the soul. But rather fear Him being able to destroy both soul and body in Hell.

¹² Then coming, the disciples said to Him, You know that hearing the saying, the Pharisees were offended?

⁶⁹ And Peter sat outside in the court. And one girl came near to him, saying, And you were with Jesus the Galilean. ⁷⁰ But he denied before all, saying, I do not know what you say. ⁷¹ And he, going out into the porch, another saw him and said to those there, And this one was with Jesus the Nazarene. ⁷² And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man. ⁷³ And after a little, coming near, those standing by said to Peter, Truly you also are of them, for even your speech makes you known. ⁷⁴ Then he began to curse and to swear, I do not know the man. And immediately a cock crowed.

⁴ But I say to you, My friends, stop being afraid of the ones killing the body, and after these things not having anything more they can do.

² This one came to Jesus by night and said to Him, Rabbi, we know that You have come as a teacher from God. For no one is able to do these miracles which You do, except God be with Him.

²² His parents said these things because they feared the Jews; for the Jews had already agreed that if anyone should confess Him as Christ, he would be expelled from the synagogue.

⁴² Still, however, even out of the rulers, many did believe into Him. But because of the Pharisees, they were not confessing, so that they not be put out of the synagogue. ⁴³ For they loved the glory of men more than the glory of God.

¹² From this time, Pilate sought to release Him. But the Jews cried out, saying, If you release this one, you are not a friend of Caesar. Everyone making himself a king speaks against Caesar. ¹³ Then hearing this word, Pilate led Jesus out. And he sat down on the judgment seat, at a place called The Pavement, but in Hebrew, Gabbatha.

¹¹ But when Peter came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he was to be blamed. ¹² For before some came from James, he ate with the nations. But when they came, he drew back and separated himself, being afraid of those of the circumcision. ¹³ And also the rest of the Jews dissembled with him, so as even Barnabas was led away with their dissembling.

¹⁶ In my first defense no one was beside me, but all deserted me. May it not be reckoned to them. ¹⁷ But the Lord stood with me and gave me power, that through me the preaching might be fulfilled, and all the nations might hear. And I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

²¹ the ones believing in God through Him, He raising Him from the dead, and giving glory to Him so that your faith and hope may be in God.

¹⁴ And may God Almighty give mercy to you before the man; and may he send your other brother to you, and Benjamin. And I, if am bereaved, I am bereaved.

²⁷ Blessed be Jehovah, the God of our fathers, who has put this in the king's heart, to beautify the house of Jehovah in Jerusalem. ²⁸ And He has extended mercy to me before the king and his counselors, and before all the king's mighty leaders. And I was made strong, as the hand of Jehovah my God was on me. And I gathered out of Israel chief men to go up with me.

¹¹ O Lord, I beg You, let Your ear be open to the prayer of Your servant, and to the prayer of Your servants who delight to fear Your name. And I beg You, bless Your servant today and grant him mercy before this man. For I was cupbearer to the king.

¹⁶ Go, gather all the Jews being found in Shushan, and fast for me. And do not eat or drink three days, night or day. My maidens and I will also fast in this way. And so I will go in to the king, which is not according to the law. And if I have perished, I have perished.

⁹ Save, O Jehovah! The King will answer us in the day of our calling.

¹² Also mercy belongs to You, O Lord, for You reward a man according to his work.

⁷ When a man's ways please Jehovah, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

⁶ Many will beg the favor of a noble, and all are friends to him who give gifts.

²¹ Many purposes are in a man's heart, but the counsel of Jehovah shall stand.

¹ As streams of waters, the king's heart is in the hand of Jehovah; He turns it wherever He desires.

⁹ Remember former things from forever, for I am God, and no one else is God, even none like Me, ¹⁰ declaring the end from the beginning, and from the past those things which were not done, saying, My purpose shall rise; and, I will do all My desire; ¹¹ calling a bird of prey from the sunrise, the man of My counsel from a far off land. Yes, I have spoken; yes, I will cause it to come; I have formed; yes, I will do it.

⁴ Then I said, I have labored in vain; I have spent My strength for nothing, and in vain; yet surely My judgment is with Jehovah, and My work with My God.

³⁵ And all the inhabitants of the earth are counted as nothing. And He does according to His will among the army of Heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth. And no one is able to strike His hand or say to Him, What are You doing?

⁴ For I know nothing of myself, but I have not been justified by this; but He judging me is the Lord.

¹¹⁵ Depart from me, O evildoers, for I will keep my God's commands.

²¹ O Jehovah, do not I hate those hating You? And am I not detesting those rising against You?

⁹ The plot of foolishness is sin, and the scorner is hateful to men.

¹⁰ Men of blood hate the blameless, but the upright seek his soul.

⁸ I also cut off three shepherds in one month. And My soul despised them, and their soul also detested Me.

⁷ The world cannot hate you; but it hates Me because I witness about it, that its works are evil.

¹⁷ These things I command you, that you love one another.

²³ The one hating Me also hates My Father.

¹³ Do not marvel, my brothers, if the world hates you.
