Blessed is he whose transgression is lifted, whose sin is covered. ² Blessed is the man to whom Jehovah does not charge iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile. ³ When I kept silence, then my bones became old, through my howling all day. ⁴ For by day and by night Your hand was heavy on me; my sap was turned into the droughts of summer. Selah. ⁵ I confessed my sin to You, and I have not hidden my iniquity; I said, I will confess over my transgression to Jehovah; and You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah. ⁶ On account of this let every godly one pray to You; at a time of finding, surely, when great floods come, they will not reach him. ⁷ You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble; You surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah. ⁸ I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you, My eye shall be on you. ⁹ Be not like the horse, like the mule, with no understanding; with bit and bridle, his gear, to be held in, that they do not come near you. ¹⁰ Many sorrows are to the wicked; but he who trusts in Jehovah, mercy embraces him. ¹¹ Be glad in Jehovah and rejoice, you righteous ones; and all the upright in heart, shout for joy.

⁵ And do not cover their iniquity, and do not let their sin be blotted out from before You. For they have provoked You to anger before the builders.

¹ Blessed is the man who has not walked in the counsel of the ungodly, and has not stood in the way of sinners and has not sat in the seat of scorners. ² But his delight is only in the law of Jehovah, and he meditates in His law day and night.

⁴ Blessed is the man who sets Jehovah as his trust, and does not turn to the proud, or to those who turn to a lie.

¹ To the chief musician. A Contemplation. A Psalm of David when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said to him, David has come to the house of Ahimelech. Why do you boast yourself in evil, O hero? The mercy of God is all the day.

¹² O Jehovah of hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in You!

² You have taken away the iniquity of Your people; You covered all of their sins. Selah.

¹⁵ Blessed is the people knowing the joyful sound; O Jehovah, they shall walk in the light of Your face.

³ Blessed are those keeping judgment, he who does righteousness in every season.

¹ Aleph Blessed are the upright in the way, who walk in the law of Jehovah. ² Blessed are those keeping His testimonies, who seek Him with the whole heart.

¹ A Song of Ascents. Blessed is everyone who fears Jehovah, who walks in His ways.

¹⁸ Come now and let us reason together, says Jehovah: Though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red as the crimson, they shall be like wool.

²⁵ I, even I, am He who blots out your trespasses for My sake; and I will not remember your sins.

²² I have blotted out your transgressions like a thick cloud; and your sins like a cloud. Return to Me, for I have redeemed you.

⁷ Blessed is the man who trusts in Jehovah, and Jehovah is his trust. ⁸ For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters. It sends out its roots by the stream, and it will not fear when the heat comes; but its foliage will be green; and it is not anxious in the year of drought, nor will it cease from yielding fruit.

¹⁸ Who is a God like You, forgiving iniquity and passing by the transgression of the remnant of His possession? He does not make strong His anger forever, for He delights in grace. ¹⁹ He will return to show us compassion; He will trample our iniquities. Yea, You will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

³ Blessed are the poor in spirit! For theirs is the kingdom of the Heavens. ⁴ Blessed are they who mourn! For they shall be comforted. ⁵ Blessed are the meek! For they shall inherit the earth. Psa. 37:11 ⁶ Blessed are they who hunger and thirst after righteousness! For they shall be filled. ⁷ Blessed are the merciful! For they shall obtain mercy. ⁸ Blessed are the pure in heart! For they shall see God. ⁹ Blessed are the peacemakers! For they shall be called sons of God. ¹⁰ Blessed are they who have been persecuted for righteousness' sake! For theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. ¹¹ Blessed are you when they shall reproach you, and persecute you, and shall say every evil word against you, lying, on account of Me. ¹² Rejoice and leap for joy, for your reward is great in Heaven; for in this way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

¹⁷ And answering, Jesus said to him, Blessed are you, Simon, son of Jonah, for flesh and blood did not reveal it to you, but My Father in Heaven.

²⁸ But He said, No; rather, blessed are those hearing the Word of God, and keeping it.

³⁸ Then let it be known to you, men, brothers, that through this One remission of sin is announced to you. ³⁹ And everyone believing in this One is justified from all things which you could not be justified by the Law of Moses.

⁶ Even as also David says of the blessedness of the man to whom God counts righteousness apart from works: ⁷ "Blessed are those whose lawlessnesses are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; ⁸ blessed the man to whom the Lord will in no way charge sin." LXX-Psa. 31:1, 2; MT-Psa. 32:1, 2

¹⁴ Blessed are the ones doing His commands, that their authority will be over the Tree of Life, and by the gates they may enter into the city.

⁴ and has not brought it in to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation as an offering to Jehovah, before the tabernacle of Jehovah, blood shall be imputed to that man; he has shed blood. And that man shall be cut off from the midst of his people;

⁴⁷ Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward Him and said concerning him, Behold, truly an Israelite in whom is no guile!

¹³ For sin was in the world until Law, but sin is not charged where there is no law;

¹² For our glorying is this, the testimony of our conscience, that we had our conduct in the world in simplicity and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom, but in the grace of God, and more abundantly toward you.

¹⁹ whereas God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not charging their trespasses to them, and putting the word of reconciliation in us. ²⁰ Then on behalf of Christ, we are ambassadors, as God is exhorting through us, we beseech on behalf of Christ, Be reconciled to God. ²¹ For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

¹ Then having laid aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil words, ² as newborn babes desire the pure soul-nourishing milk, that you may grow by it;

⁵ And no guile was found in their mouth, for they are without blemish before the throne of God.

⁸ And they heard the sound of Jehovah God walking up and down in the garden at the breeze of the day. And the man and his wife hid themselves from the face of Jehovah God in the middle of the trees of the garden. ⁹ And Jehovah God called to the man and said to him, Where are you? ¹⁰ And he said, I have heard Your sound in the garden, and I was afraid, for I am naked, and I hid myself. ¹¹ And He said, Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat? ¹² And the man said, The woman whom You gave to be with me, she has given to me of the tree, and I ate. ¹³ And Jehovah God said to the woman, What is this you have done? And the woman said, The serpent deceived me, and I ate. ¹⁴ And Jehovah God said to the serpent, Because you have done this, you are cursed above all beasts, and above every animal of the field. You shall go on your belly, and you shall eat dust all the days of your life. ¹⁵ And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He will bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel. ¹⁶ He said to the woman, I will greatly increase your sorrow and your conception; you shall bear sons in sorrow, and your desire shall be toward your husband; and he shall rule over you. ¹⁷ And He said to the man, Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten of the tree about which I commanded you, saying, You shall not eat from it, the ground shall be cursed because of you; you shall eat of it in sorrow all the days of your life. ¹⁸ And it shall bring forth thorns and thistles for you, and you shall eat the plant of the field. ¹⁹ By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread until your return to the ground. For you have been taken out of it; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return.

¹³ And they took their bones and buried them under the tamarisk tree in Jabesh. And they fasted seven days.

²⁷ And the mourning time passed by. And David sent and gathered her to his house; and she became his wife, and bore a son to him. And the thing which David had done was evil in the eyes of Jehovah.

¹² And David went and took the bones of Saul, and the bones of his son Jonathan from the rulers of Jabesh-gilead, who had stolen them from the plaza of Beth-shan, there where the Philistines hanged them in the day the Philistines struck Saul in Gilboa. ¹³ And he brought up the bones of Saul and the bones of his son Jonathan from there, and they gathered up the bones of those hanged. ¹⁴ And they buried the bones of Saul and of his son Jonathan in the land of Benjamin, in Zelah, in the burying place of his father Kish, and did all that the king had commanded. And afterward God heard prayer for the land.

²⁴ For my sighing comes before my food; and my groanings are poured out like the waters.

¹⁷ The night pierces my bones on me, and my gnawings never lie down.

³⁰ My skin is blackened on me, and my bones are burned with heat.

² have mercy on me, O Jehovah, for I am weak; heal me, O Jehovah, for my bones are troubled.

¹ To the Chief Musician, on the deer of the dawn. A Psalm of David. My God, my God, why have You forsaken me, and are far from my deliverance, from the words of my groaning?

⁹ Be gracious to me, O Jehovah, for I am in trouble; my eye has wasted away with grief, my soul and my belly. ¹⁰ For my life is ending with grief, and my years with sighing; my strength fails because of my iniquity, and my bones have wasted away.

³ There is no soundness in my flesh because of Your anger; nor peace in my bones because of my sin.

⁸ I am exceedingly benumbed and crushed. I howl from the groanings of my heart.

⁸ Cause me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones You have crushed may rejoice.

³ For my days are finished in smoke, and my bones glow like a firebrand. ⁴ My heart is stricken and dried like grass, so that I forget to eat my bread. ⁵ Because of the voice of my sighing, my bones cleave to my flesh.

¹³ He who covers his sins never prospers, but he who confesses and forsakes them shall have pity.

²⁰ Your sons have fainted; they lie at the head of all the streets, like an antelope in a net, filled with the fury of Jehovah, the rebuke of your God.

¹⁷ For I was angry and struck him for the iniquity of his gain; I hid Myself and was angry; yet he went, turning in his heart's way.

¹¹ We all of us roar like bears, and we moan sadly like doves. We look for justice, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far from us.

¹⁸ I have surely heard Ephraim moaning over himself, saying, You have chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bull not broken in. Turn me, and I shall be turned; for You are Jehovah my God. ¹⁹ For after I had turned away, I repented; and after I was taught, I slapped on my thigh. I was ashamed; yea, I even blushed, because I bore the disgrace of my youth.

³ Judah went captive from affliction, and from great slavery. She dwells among the nations; She finds no rest. All her pursuers have overtaken her between the straits.

⁴ He has wasted my flesh and my skin. He has shattered my bones.

⁸ Also, when I cry out and shout for help, He shuts out my prayer.

¹⁴ And they have not cried to Me with their heart, when they howled on their beds. They gather themselves for grain and wine; they turn against Me.

¹⁵ And going, he was joined to one of the citizens of that country. And he sent him into his fields to feed pigs. ¹⁶ And he longed to fill his stomach from the husks which the pigs ate, but no one gave to him.

⁶ And the hand of Jehovah was heavy on the men of Ashdod. And He wasted them, and struck them with hemorrhoids, Ashdod and its borders. ⁷ And the men of Ashdod saw that it was so, and said, The ark of God of Israel shall not remain with us, for His hand has been hard on us, and on our god Dagon.

⁹ And it happened after they had brought it around, the hand of Jehovah was against the city with a very great destruction. And He struck the men of the city, from the least to the greatest; and hemorrhoids broke forth in them.

¹¹ And they sent and gathered all the rulers of the Philistines, and said, Send away the ark of the God of Israel, and let it return to its place. And it shall not put me to death, even my people. For there had been a great destruction throughout all the city. The hand of God had been very heavy there.

⁹ And watch; if it goes up by way of its own border, to Bethshemesh, He has done this great evil to us. And if not, then we shall know that it is not His hand that touched us; it was an accident to us.

²¹ O that one might plead for a man with God, as a man pleads for his friend!

⁷ Behold, my terror shall not frighten you; and my burden shall not be heavy on you.

¹⁵ My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and My tongue clings to My jaws;

² For Your arrows sink in me, and Your hand presses heavily on me. ³ There is no soundness in my flesh because of Your anger; nor peace in my bones because of my sin. ⁴ For my iniquities have passed over my head, as a heavy burden too heavy for me. ⁵ My wounds have putrefied and rotted, because of my foolishness. ⁶ I am bent down, I am bowed down exceedingly; I went mourning all the day long. ⁷ For my loins are filled with a burning, and there is no soundness in my flesh. ⁸ I am exceedingly benumbed and crushed. I howl from the groanings of my heart.

¹⁰ Remove Your stroke from me; I am consumed by the blow of Your hand. ¹¹ You correct a man with rebukes over perversity; and as a moth You consume what he desires. Surely every man is vanity. Selah.

⁶ in the morning it sprouts and shoots up; in the evening it withers and dries up. ⁷ For we are consumed by Your anger, and we are troubled by Your wrath.

³ For my days are finished in smoke, and my bones glow like a firebrand. ⁴ My heart is stricken and dried like grass, so that I forget to eat my bread.

⁸ Their appearance is darker than soot; they are not recognized in the streets. Their skin has shriveled on their bones; it is dried up, it has become like wood.

¹⁰ Our skin is burned black like an oven, because of the fever heat of famine.

³⁹ And of those who are left of you, they shall putrefy in their iniquity, in the lands of your enemies; and also in the iniquities of their fathers, they shall putrefy with them. ⁴⁰ And if they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, in their trespass with which they have trespassed against Me; and, also, that they have walked contrary to Me,

¹⁹ And Joshua said to Achan, My son, I beg you, give glory to Jehovah, the God of Israel, and give thanks to Him, and please tell me what you have done. Do not hide it from me.

⁹ Why have you despised the word of Jehovah, to do the evil in His eyes? You have stricken Uriah the Hittite by the sword, and you have taken his wife to yourself for a wife. And you have killed him by the sword of the sons of Ammon.

¹³ And David said to Nathan, I have sinned against Jehovah. And Nathan said to David, Jehovah also has put away your sin; you shall not die.

¹⁰ And after he had numbered the people, the heart of David struck him. And David said to Jehovah, I have sinned greatly in that which I have done. And now, O Jehovah, I pray, take away the iniquity of your servant, for I have acted very foolishly.

³³ if I covered my transgressions like Adam, by hiding my iniquity in my bosom,

²⁷ He will observe to men and say, I have sinned, and I have perverted uprightness; and it was not equally repaid to me;

⁵ For His anger is only a moment; in His favor is life. Weeping may endure in the evening, but joy comes in the morning.

¹⁸ For I will confess my perversity; I am anxious from my sin.

³ For I know my transgressions; and my sin is ever before me. ⁴ Against You, You only, I have sinned, and done evil in Your eyes; that You might be justified in Your speaking and be clear when You judge. ⁵ Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me.

⁵ For You, O Lord, are good and ready to forgive, and rich in mercy to all who call on You.

¹⁵ But You, O God, are God, full of pity; and gracious, longsuffering and rich in mercy and truth.

³ who forgives all your iniquities; who heals all your diseases;

¹² As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.

²⁰ So is the way of an adulterous woman: She eats, and wipes her mouth, and says, I have done no evil.

²⁴ And it will be, before they call, I will answer. While they are speaking, then I will hear.

²³ How can you say, I am not defiled; I have not gone after Baals? See your way in the valley; know what you have done! You are a swift camel crossing her ways;

³⁵ Yet you say, Because I am innocent, surely His anger shall turn from me. Behold, I will judge with you, because you say, I have not sinned.

¹³ Only acknowledge your iniquity, that you have rebelled against Jehovah your God and have scattered your ways to the strangers under every green tree, and you have not obeyed My voice, says Jehovah.

²⁰ Is Ephraim My dear son? Or is he a delightful child? For as often as I spoke against him, I earnestly remember him still. So My bowels groan for him; I will surely have pity on him, declares Jehovah.

¹ Come and let us return to Jehovah. For He has torn, and He will heal us. He has stricken, and He will bind us up.

⁸ Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me. But you say, In what have we robbed You? In the tithe and the offering!

⁴⁷ For this reason I say to you, her many sins are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, he loves little.

¹⁷ But coming to himself he said, How many servants of my father have plenty of loaves, and I am perishing with famine. ¹⁸ Rising up, I will go to my father, and I will say to him, Father, I sinned against Heaven and before you, ¹⁹ and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me as one of your hired servants. ²⁰ And rising up, he came to his father. But he yet being far away, his father saw him and was moved with pity. And running, he fell on his neck and fervently kissed him. ²¹ And the son said to him, Father, I have sinned against Heaven and before you, and no longer am I worthy to be called your son. ²² But the father said to his slaves, Bring out the best robe and clothe him, and give a ring for his hand and sandals for his feet. ²³ And bring the fattened calf, slaughter and let us eat and be merry;

¹⁵ And He said to them, You are those justifying yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts; for the thing highly prized among men is a hateful thing before God.

³² And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, having forgiven one another, even as also God forgave you in Christ.

⁸ If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. ⁹ If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous that He may forgive us the sins, and may cleanse us from all unrighteousness. ¹⁰ If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

¹⁷ And the flood was on the earth forty days. And the waters increased, and bore up the ark, and it was lifted up above the earth. ¹⁸ And the waters prevailed, and were greatly increased on the earth. And the ark floated on the face of the waters. ¹⁹ And the waters were strong, exceedingly violent on the earth, and all the high mountains under the heavens were covered. ²⁰ The waters grew strong, fifteen cubits upward, and the mountains were covered. ²¹ And all flesh that moved on the earth died: the fowl, and cattle, and beast, and every swarming thing that swarms on the earth, and all mankind. ²² All died in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land.

³ But know that Jehovah has set apart the godly for Himself. Jehovah hears when I call to Him.

² My soul shall make its boast in Jehovah; the humble shall hear and be glad. ³ O magnify Jehovah with me; and let us exalt His name together. ⁴ I sought Jehovah, and He answered me, and delivered me out of all my fear. ⁵ They looked to Him and were filled with light; and their faces were not ashamed.

³ And He put a new song of praise to our God in my mouth; many shall see and shall fear and shall trust in Jehovah.

⁷ Deep calls to deep through the voice of Your waterfalls; all Your waves and Your billows have passed over me.

¹² Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit. ¹³ Then I will teach transgressors Your ways; and sinners will turn back to You.

¹ To the chief musician. Concerning the Lilies. Of David. Save me, O God, for the waters have come in to my soul. ² I sink in deep mire, and there is no standing; I have come into deep waters where the floods overflow me.

¹³ But as for me, my prayer is to You, O Jehovah, at a time of favor, O God! in the plentitude of Your mercy answer me, in the truth of Your salvation. ¹⁴ Deliver me out of the mire, that I may not sink; let me be delivered from those who hate me, and out of the deep waters. ¹⁵ Let not the flood waters overflow me, nor let the deep swallow me up; and let not the pit shut its mouth on me.

⁴ Then the waters would have flowed over us; the torrent would have covered our soul; ⁵ then the raging waters would have passed over our soul.

⁷ Send Your hand from above; rescue me and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of a foreigner's sons,

²⁸ Then they shall call on me, and I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me.

² When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk in the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame kindle on you.

⁸ So says Jehovah: In a favorable time I have answered You, and in a day of salvation I have helped You. And I will preserve You, and give You for a covenant of the people; to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolated inheritances;

⁶ Seek Jehovah while He may be found; call on Him while He is near.

²⁴ Then everyone who hears these words from Me, and does them, I will compare him to a wise man who built his house on the rock; ²⁵ and the rains came down, and the rivers came up, and the winds blew, and fell against that house; but it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. ²⁶ And everyone who hears these words of Mine, and who does not do them, he shall be compared to a foolish man who built his house on the sand; ²⁷ and the rain came down, and the rivers came up, and the winds blew and beat against that house; and it fell, and great was the fall of it.

⁴² saying, If you had known, even you, even at least in this day of yours, the things for your peace! But now they were hidden from your eyes. ⁴³ For the days will come on you, and your enemies will raise up a rampart to you and will surround you and will keep you in on every side, ⁴⁴ and will tear you down, and your children in you, and will not leave a stone on a stone, because you did not know the time of your visitation.

³⁴ You will seek Me, and will not find Me; and where I am, you are not able to come.

⁴ the One comforting us on all our affliction, for us to be able to comfort those in every affliction, through the comfort by which we ourselves are comforted by God.

² For He says, "In an acceptable time I heard you, and in a day of salvation I helped you." Behold, now is the acceptable time! Behold, now is the day of salvation! Isa. 49:8

⁹ Now I rejoice, not that you were grieved, but that you were grieved to repentance. For you were grieved according to God, that you might suffer loss in nothing by us. ¹⁰ For the grief according to God works repentance to salvation, not to be regretted. But the grief of the world works out death.

¹⁶ But for this reason I received mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth all long-suffering, for an example to those being about to believe on Him to everlasting life.

¹² instructing us that having denied ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live discreetly and righteously and godly in the present age,

¹⁵ And the serpent threw water out of his mouth like a river after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried off by the river. ¹⁶ And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed the river which the dragon threw out of his mouth.

¹ Then Moses and the sons of Israel sang this song to Jehovah, and spoke, saying, I will sing to Jehovah, for He is highly exalted. He has thrown the horse and his rider into the sea. ² My strength and song is Jah, and it happened, He was to me salvation; this is my God and I will glorify Him; the God of my father, and I will exalt Him. ³ Jehovah is a Man of war; Jehovah is His name.

¹ And Deborah and Barak, the son of Abinoam, sang on that day, saying:

¹ And David spoke to Jehovah the words of this song in the day Jehovah delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul.

¹² For You, O Jehovah, will bless the righteous; You will surround him with favor, as with a shield.

⁹ Jehovah also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of distress.

⁵ cords of Sheol surrounded me; the snares of death confronted me.

⁵ For in the day of evil He shall hide me in His shelter; in the secrecy of His tabernacle, He shall hide me; He shall set me up on a rock.

²⁰ In the secrecy of Your presence You shall hide them from man's plots; You shall cover them in a booth, from the strife of tongues.

¹⁰ Many sorrows are to the wicked; but he who trusts in Jehovah, mercy embraces him.

¹ He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide in the shade of the Almighty.

¹ A Psalm. O sing to Jehovah a new song, for He has done wondrous things; His right hand and His holy arm has saved Him.

¹¹⁴ You are my covert and my shield; I hope in Your word.

⁹ O Jehovah, deliver me from my enemies; to You I have hidden.

²⁶ And the king commanded Jerahmeel, the son of Hammelech, and Seraiah, the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah, the son of Abdeel, to seize Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet. But Jehovah hid them.

³ For you died, and your life has been hidden with Christ in God.

¹⁰ And they cry with a great voice, saying, Salvation to our God sitting on the throne, and to the Lamb.

² And I saw, as a glassy sea having been mixed with fire. And the ones overcoming the beast, and its image, and its mark, of the number of its name, were standing on the glassy sea, having harps of God. ³ And they sing the song of Moses the slave of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty, righteous and true are Your ways, King of the saints.

⁸ Good and upright is Jehovah; therefore He will teach sinners in the way. ⁹ He will guide the meek in justice; and He will teach the meek His way. ¹⁰ All the paths of Jehovah are mercy and truth to the keepers of His covenant and His testimonies.

¹⁸ Behold the eye of Jehovah is to those who fear Him, on those who hope in His mercy;

¹¹ Come, listen to me, my sons, I will teach you the fear of Jehovah.

¹ My son, do not forget my law, but let your heart keep my commands,

⁵ Trust in Jehovah with all your heart, and lean not to your own understanding; ⁶ In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

¹ Sons, hear the instruction of a father, and listen so as to know understanding. ² For I give you good teaching, do not forsake my law. ³ For I was my father's son, tender and an only one in the sight of my mother. ⁴ And he taught me and said to me, Let your heart cling to my words; keep my commands and live. ⁵ Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forsake and do not turn away from the words of my mouth. ⁶ Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you; love her, and she will keep you. ⁷ Wisdom is the main thing; get wisdom, and with all your getting, get understanding. ⁸ Exalt her, and she will lift you up; she shall bring you to honor when you embrace her. ⁹ She shall give a wreath of grace to your head; she shall shield you with a crown of glory. ¹⁰ Oh my son, hear and receive my sayings, and the years of your life shall be many. ¹¹ I have taught you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in the right tracks; ¹² when you go, your tracks shall not be narrowed, and when you run, you shall not stumble. ¹³ Take fast hold of instruction, do not let her go; keep her, for she is your life.

¹⁰ Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge, rather than choice gold. ¹¹ For wisdom is better than jewels, and all delights cannot be compared to it.

¹⁰ They shall not hunger nor thirst; and the heat and sun shall not strike them. For He who has mercy on them shall lead them; and He shall guide them by the springs of water.

²⁹ Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, because I am meek and lowly in heart, "and you will find rest to your souls." Jer. 6:16

¹¹ teaching us more than the animals of the earth, and makes us wiser than the birds of the heavens?

³ A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the back of fools.

²² For My people are foolish. They do not know Me. They are stupid children, and they have no understanding. They are wise to do evil, but they do not know to do good.

⁶ I listened and heard. They did not speak so. No man repented because of this evil, saying, What have I done? Everyone turned in their own courses, as a horse rushes into the battle. ⁷ Also the stork in the heavens knows her seasons, and the turtledove and the swallow and the thrush observe the time of their coming. But My people do not know the judgment of Jehovah.

¹⁸ I have surely heard Ephraim moaning over himself, saying, You have chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bull not broken in. Turn me, and I shall be turned; for You are Jehovah my God.

³ Behold, we put bits in the mouths of the horses, for them to obey us; and we turn about their whole body.

⁷ Then be subject to God. Resist the Devil, and he will flee from you. ⁸ Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, sinners! And purify your hearts, double minded ones! ⁹ Be distressed, and mourn, and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy into shame. ¹⁰ Be humbled before the Lord, and He will exalt you.

¹² Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish from the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Oh the blessings of all those who flee to Him for refuge!

⁴ Their sorrows shall multiply if they run after another god . I will not pour out their drink offering of blood; and I will not take their names on my lips.

⁸ Taste and see that Jehovah is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him.

¹⁹ Many are the evils of the righteous, but Jehovah helps him out of them all, ²⁰ keeping all his bones; not one of them is broken. ²¹ Evil shall slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous shall become guilty.

¹¹ Do not let a man of tongue be established in the earth; evil shall hunt the violent man, thrust upon thrust.

⁵ Blessed is he who has the God of Jacob in his help; his hope is on Jehovah his God;

¹¹ Jehovah takes pleasure in those who fear Him, those who hope in His mercy.

²¹ Evil pursues sinners, but the righteous shall be rewarded with good.

²⁰ He who acts prudently shall find good, and he who trusts in Jehovah, Oh how happy is he!

¹² Though a sinner does evil a hundred times, and his days are prolonged to him, yet surely I know that it shall be well to those who fear God, who fear before Him.

¹¹ Woe to the wicked! For the evil, the doing of his hand will be done to him.

² Behold, God is my salvation! I will trust and not be afraid, for my strength and song is Jah Jehovah; yea, He has become my salvation. ³ And you shall draw waters out of the wells of salvation with joy.

²¹ There is no peace to the wicked, says my God.

⁸ but to those even disobeying the truth, out of self interest, and obeying unrighteousness, will be anger and wrath, ⁹ trouble and pain on every soul of man that works out evil, both of Jew first, and of Greek.

¹⁰ For the love of money is a root of all evils, by means of which some having lusted after it were seduced from the faith, and they themselves pierced through by many pains.

¹² And you shall rejoice before Jehovah your God, you and your sons, and your daughters, and your male slaves, and your female slaves, and the Levite within your gates because he has no portion or inheritance with you.

¹ And Hannah prayed and said: My heart has exulted in Jehovah; my horn has been high in Jehovah. My mouth has been large over my enemies; for I have rejoiced in Your salvation.

¹¹ And they sang, praising and giving thanks to Jehovah, because He is good, for His mercy endures forever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout when they praised Jehovah because the foundation of the house of Jehovah was laid. ¹² But many of the priests and Levites, and heads of the fathers, the aged men who had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice. And many shouted aloud for joy, ¹³ So that the people could not tell the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of weeping of the people. For the people shouted with a loud shout, and the noise was heard afar off.

¹¹ But let all who put their trust in You rejoice; let them shout for joy forever, because You cover them. And let those who love Your name be joyful in You.

¹⁰ My defense is on God, who saves the upright of heart.

² Blessed is the man to whom Jehovah does not charge iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

¹ Rejoice in Jehovah, O righteous ones; praise is becoming to the upright.

¹⁰ The righteous shall rejoice in Jehovah, and shall trust in Him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.

³ But the righteous are glad; they shout for joy before God; yea, they exult with gladness.

¹ Jehovah reigns! Let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of islands be glad.

¹² Be glad in Jehovah, O righteous ones; give thanks to the memory of His holiness.

⁴ Make a joyful noise to Jehovah, all the earth; break out and rejoice and sing praise.

⁴ Do good, O Jehovah, to the good, and to the upright in their heart.

⁷ Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain. And he shall bring forth the capstone with shouts: Grace! Grace to it!

¹¹ and not only so, but also glorying in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we now received the reconciliation.

¹ For the rest my brothers, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you truly is not tiresome to me, but safe for you.

³ For we are the circumcision, the ones who worship by the Spirit of God, and who glory in Christ Jesus, and who do not trust in flesh.

⁴ Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say, Rejoice!
