¹ AND the apostles and the brethren who were in Judµa heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God.

¹¹ And I say to you, that a great many will come from the east and from the west, and sit down with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.

⁵ And they entered the tomb, and saw a young man, sitting on the right, covered in a white robe; and they were astonished.

³² A light for a revelation to the Gentiles, and a glory to your people Israel.

¹⁴ N ow when the apostles at Jerusalem heard that the Samaritan people had accepted the word of God, they sent to them Simon Peter and John, ¹⁵ Who, when they went down, prayed over them that they might receive the Holy Spirit.

³⁴ Then Simon Peter opened his mouth and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: ³⁵ But among all people, he who fears him and works righteousness is accepted with him. ³⁶ For God sent the word to the children of Israel, preaching peace and tranquility by Jesus Christ: he is the LORD of all. ³⁷ And you also are familiar with the news which was published throughout Judµa, which sprang from Galilee, after the baptism preached by John; ³⁸ Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, whom God anointed with the Holy Spirit and with power, and who, because God was with him, went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil.

²⁷ And as the whole congregation was gathered together, they related everything that God had done to them, and how he had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles.

³ They were given an escort and sent on their way by the church, and they traveled through all Phoe-niÆci-a and the territory of the Sa-marÆi-tans, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles; and they caused great joy to all the brethren.

⁷ Therefore be close and bear one anotherÆs burdens, just as Christ also brought you close to the glory of God. ⁸ Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision, for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made to the fathers: ⁹ And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercies which were poured upon them; as it is written, Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles, and sing unto your name. ¹⁰ And again he says, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people. ¹¹ And again, he says, Praise the LORD, all ye Gentiles; and praise him, all ye nations. ¹² And again Isaiah said, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise will be a prince to the Gentiles; and in him shall the Gentiles trust.

¹⁷ Neither did I go up to Jerusalem to them who had been apostles before me; but instead I went to Arabia and returned again to Damascus. ¹⁸ Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Cephas Peter, and stayed with him fifteen days. ¹⁹ But I did not see any one of the other apostles, except James the brother of our LORD. ²⁰ Now the things which I write to you, behold, I confess before God, I do not lie. ²¹ After that I went to the regions of Syria and Cilicia; ²² And I was unknown by face to the churches of Christ in Judµa.
