⁸ But when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you shall receive power and you shall be witnesses to me both in Jerusalem and in all Judaea also in the province of Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

¹⁴ And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached throughout the world as a testimony to all the nations; then the end will come.

¹⁹ Go, therefore, and convert all nations; and baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit;

¹⁵ And he said to them, Go to all the world, and preach my gospel to the whole creation.

³⁵ The angel answered and said to her, The Holy Spirit will come, and the power of the Highest will rest upon you; therefore the one who is to be born of you is holy, and he will be called the Son of God.

¹⁹ Behold, I give you power, to tread on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall harm you.

²⁹ But they urged him and said, Remain with us; because the day is spent and it is near dark. So he entered to stay with them.

⁴⁶ And he said to them, Thus it is written, and it was right that Christ should suffer, and rise from the dead on the third day; ⁴⁷ And that repentance should be preached in his name for the forgiveness of sins among all nations; and the beginning will be from Jerusalem. ⁴⁸ And you are witnesses of these things. ⁴⁹ And I will send upon you the promise of my Father; but you remain in the city of Jerusalem, until you are clothed with power from on high.

²⁷ And you also will testify because you have been with me from the beginning.

⁵ For John baptized with water; but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days hence.

²² Beginning from the baptism of John until the day he ascended from among us, become a partner with us as a witness of his resurrection.

¹ AND when the day of PenÆte-cost was fulfilled, while they were assembled together, ² Suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind and it filled all the house where they were sitting. ³ And there appeared to them tongues which were divided like flames of fire; and they rested upon each of them. ⁴ And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they began to speak in various languages, according to whatever the Spirit gave them to speak.

³² This very Jesus, God has raised up, and we are all his witnesses.

¹⁵ And killed the Prince of Life, whom God has raised from the dead; all of us are his witnesses.

³³ And the apostles testified with great power concerning the resurrection of Jesus Christ; and they were all greatly favored.

³² And we are the witnesses of these words; so is also the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who believe in him.

⁸ Now Stephen was full of grace and power and did great wonders and miracles among the people.

¹ SAUL was pleased to have had a part in the murder of Stephen. At that very time there was severe persecution against the church at Jerusalem; and they were all, with the exception of the apostles, dispersed throughout the towns of JudµÆa and SamaÆria.

⁵ Then Philip went down to a Samaritan city and preached to them about Christ. ⁶ And when the people of that place heard his word, they gave heed and listened attentively to everything Philip said, because they saw the miracles which he did. ⁷ Many who were mentally afflicted, cried with loud voices and were restored; and others who were paralytic and lame, were healed. ⁸ And there was great joy in that city. ⁹ Now there was there a man called Semon, who had lived in that city a long time, and who had deceived the Samaritan people by his magic, boasting of himself and saying, I am the greatest one. ¹⁰ And both the noblest and the least followed him, saying, He is the greatest power of God. ¹¹ All of them listened to him, because for a long time he had bewitched them with his sorceries. ¹² But when they believed Philip, preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God in the name of our LORD Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. ¹³ Semon himself also believed and was baptized and attached himself to Philip, and as he saw the miracles and great signs performed by his hand, he marvelled greatly. ¹⁴ N ow when the apostles at Jerusalem heard that the Samaritan people had accepted the word of God, they sent to them Simon Peter and John, ¹⁵ Who, when they went down, prayed over them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. ¹⁶ For as yet it had not come upon them although they had been baptized in the name of our Lord Jesus. ¹⁷ Then they laid their hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit. ¹⁸ And when Semon saw that the Holy Spirit was given by the laying on of the apostlesÆ hands, he offered them money, ¹⁹ Saying, Give me also this authority so that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Spirit. ²⁰ Simon Peter said to him, Let your money perish with you because you have thought that the gift of God may be purchased with wealth. ²¹ You have no part nor lot in this faith because your heart is not right in the sight of God. ²² Repent, therefore, of this evil of yours, and beseech God that he may perhaps forgive you for the guile which is in your heart. ²³ For I see your heart is as bitter as gall and you are in the bonds of iniquity. ²⁴ Then Semon answered and said, Pray God for me so that none of these things which you have spoken may come upon me. ²⁵ Now when Simon Peter and John had testified and taught them the word of God, they returned to Jerusalem after they had preached in many Samaritan villages.

³⁸ Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, whom God anointed with the Holy Spirit and with power, and who, because God was with him, went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil. ³⁹ And we are witnesses of all things which he did throughout the land of Judµa and in Jerusalem. This very one the Jews crucified on a cross and killed him: ⁴⁰ Him God raised on the third day, and showed him openly; ⁴¹ Not to all the people, but to us who have been chosen by God to be his witnesses, for we did eat and drink with him after his resurrection from the dead.

³¹ And for many days he was seen by them who had come up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, and they are now his witnesses to the people.

¹⁵ And you shall be a witness for him before all men, of all that you have seen and heard.

¹⁸ But I say, Have they not heard? And behold the echoes of their voices have gone out over all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.

¹⁹ Through mighty miracles and wonders, and by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem I went round about as far as Il-lyrÆi-cum, and I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

²³ If you continue in your faith and your foundation is firm, and if you are not moved from the hope of the gospel, which you have heard, and which has been preached to every creature which is under heaven and for which I, Paul, have become a minister;

³ Then I will give power to my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand and two hundred and three score days, clothed in sackcloth. ⁴ These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks, standing before the LORD of the earth. ⁵ And if any man desires to harm them, fire will come out of their mouths and will consume their enemies: and if any man desires to harm them, he must in this manner be killed. ⁶ These have power to control the sky, so that it will not rain in those days: and have power over waters to turn them into blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
