¹ Do but call: is there one that will answer thee? and to whom of the saints wilt thou turn thyself?

² And he said, The Lord came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them: he shone forth from mount Paran, and he came from among myriads of saints; from his right hand he gave a fiery law unto them. ³ Yea, thou also lovedst the tribes; all their saints were in thy hand; and they, prostrate before thy feet, received thy words.

¹⁸ Behold, in his servants he putteth no trust, and his angels he chargeth with folly:

⁸ Hast thou listened to the secret counsel of God? and is wisdom therefore of little esteem with thee? ⁹ What knowest thou, that we do not know? what understandest thou, which is not with us? ¹⁰ Both the grayheaded and the very aged are among us,—richer than thy father in days.

¹⁵ Behold, in his holy ones he putteth no trust; and the heavens are not pure in his eyes:

³ But in the saints who are on the earth, and in the excellent—in them is all my delight.

¹⁶ Moreover they envied Moses in the camp, and Aaron the holy one of the Lord.

¹ Keep silence before me, O islands; and let nations acquire new strength: let them approach, then let them speak, together let us come near to judgment.

²¹ Produce your cause, saith the Lord: bring forward your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob. ²² Let them bring them forward and tell us what shall happen: the former things—what are they?—tell us, that we may take it to heart, and know the result of them; or let us hear the things that are to come. ²³ Tell the events that are to happen hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be astonished, and see it together.
