¹ That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of Life,

²² Jehovah possessed me from the beginning of His way, before His works of old. ²³ I was anointed from everlasting, from the beginning, before the earth ever was. ²⁴ When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no springs heavy with water. ²⁵ Before the mountains were settled, before the hills, I was brought forth. ²⁶ before He had made the earth, or the fields or the highest part of the dust of the world. ²⁷ When He prepared the heavens, I was there; when He set a circle upon the face of the deep; ²⁸ when He set the clouds above; when He made the strong fountains of the deep; ²⁹ when He gave to the sea its limit that the waters should not pass His command; when He appointed the foundations of the earth; ³⁰ even I was a workman at His side; and I was daily His delight, rejoicing always before Him; ³¹ rejoicing in the world, His earth; and my delight was with the sons of men.

⁴ Who has planned and done it, calling forth the generations from the beginning? I, Jehovah, am the first and the last; I am He.

² And you, Bethlehem Ephratah, you being least among the thousands of Judah, out of you He shall come forth to Me, to become Ruler in Israel, He whose goings forth have been from of old, from the days of eternity.

² even as those who from the beginning delivered to us, becoming eye-witnesses and ministers of the Word,

³⁹ Behold My hands and My feet, that I am He! Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see Me have.

¹ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ² He was in the beginning with God. ³ All things came into being through Him, and without Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being. ⁴ In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. ⁵ And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overtake it. ⁶ There was a man sent from God; his name was John. ⁷ This one came as a witness, to bear witness concerning the Light, so that all might believe through him. ⁸ He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. ⁹ He was the true Light; He enlightens every man coming into the world. ¹⁰ He was in the world, and the world came into being through Him, and the world did not know Him. ¹¹ He came to His own, and His own received Him not. ¹² But as many as received Him, He gave to them authority to become the children of God, to those who believe on His name, ¹³ who were born, not of bloods, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but were born of God. ¹⁴ And the Word became flesh, and tabernacled among us. And we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and of truth. ¹⁵ John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, This was He of whom I spoke: He who comes after me has been before me, for He was preceding me. ¹⁶ And out of His fullness we all have received, and grace for grace. ¹⁷ For the Law came through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. ¹⁸ No one has seen God at any time; the Only-begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

²⁶ For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has given to the Son to have life within Himself,

⁵⁸ Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Before Abraham came into being, I AM!

³⁵ And he who saw bore record, and his record is true. And he knows that he speaks true, so that you might believe.

²⁷ Then He said to Thomas, Reach your finger here and behold My hands; and reach your hand here and thrust it into My side; and do not be unbelieving, but believing.

³ to whom He also presented Himself living after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them through forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.

²⁰ For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.

¹⁶ For not having followed fables having been cunningly devised, but becoming eyewitnesses of the majesty of Jesus Christ, we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord. ¹⁷ For He received honor and glory from God the Father, when was borne to Him a voice from the excellent glory, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." ¹⁸ And we heard this voice being borne from Heaven, being with Him in the holy mountain.

² (for the Life was revealed, and we have seen it and bear witness, and show to you the everlasting Life, who was with the Father and was revealed to us), ³ that which we have seen and heard we declare unto you, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.

¹³ I write to you, fathers, because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I write to you, little children, because you have known the Father. ¹⁴ I write to you, fathers, because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the Word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one.

¹⁴ And we have seen and testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.

⁷ For there are three that bear witness {\I in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit, and these three are one.

⁸ I am the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the Ending, says the Lord, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.

¹¹ saying, I am the Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last. Also, What you see, write in a book and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia: to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamos, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.

¹⁷ And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. And He laid His right hand upon me, saying to me, Do not fear, I am the First and the Last, ¹⁸ and the Living One, and I became dead, and behold, I am alive for ever and ever, Amen. And I have the keys of hell and of death.

⁸ And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: The First and the Last, who became dead and lived, says these things:

¹³ And He had been clothed in a garment dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.
