¹ You shall not raise a false report. Do not put your hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness. ² You shall not follow a multitude to do evil. Neither shall you speak in a cause in order to follow many in order to wrest judgment. ³ And you should not favor a poor man in his cause. ⁴ If you meet your enemy's ox or his ass going astray, you shall surely bring it back to him again. ⁵ If you see the ass of him who hates you lying under his burden, and would hold back from helping him, you shall surely help him. ⁶ You shall not pervert the judgment of your poor in his cause. ⁷ Keep far from a false matter, and do not kill the innocent and righteous. For I will not justify the wicked. ⁸ And you shall take no bribe, for the bribe blinds the wise and perverts the words of the righteous. ⁹ Also you shall not oppress a stranger. For you know the heart of a stranger, since you were strangers in the land of Egypt. ¹⁰ And you shall sow your land six years, and shall gather in the fruits of it. ¹¹ But the seventh year you shall let it rest and let it alone, so that the poor of your people may eat. And what they leave, the animals of the field shall eat. In the same way you shall deal with your vineyard and with your oliveyard. ¹² You shall do your work six days, and on the seventh day you shall rest, so that your ox and your ass may rest, and the son of your handmaid, and the stranger, may be refreshed. ¹³ And be watchful in all that I have said to you. And make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of your mouth. ¹⁴ You shall keep a feast to Me three times in the year. ¹⁵ You shall keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread. You shall eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded you, in the time appointed of the month Abib, for in it you came out of Egypt. And no one shall appear before Me empty. ¹⁶ Also the Feast of Harvest, the first-fruits of your labors, which you have sown in the field. Also the Feast of Ingathering, in the end of the year, when you have gathered in your labors out of the field. ¹⁷ Three times in the year all your males shall appear before the Lord God. ¹⁸ You shall not offer the blood of My sacrifice with leaven, neither shall the fat of My sacrifice remain until the morning. ¹⁹ The first of the firstfruits of your land you shall bring into the house of Jehovah your God. You shall not boil a kid in its mother's milk. ²⁰ Behold, I send an Angel before you, to keep you in the way, and to bring you to the place which I have prepared. ²¹ Be on guard before Him, and obey His voice. Do not provoke Him, for He will not pardon your transgressions. For My name is in Him. ²² But if you shall indeed obey His voice, and do all that I speak, then I will be an enemy to your enemies, and a foe to your foes. ²³ For My Angel shall go before you and bring you in to the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites. And I will cut them off. ²⁴ You shall not bow down to their gods, nor serve them. And you shall not do according to their works. But you shall surely pull them down, and surely you shall smash their images. ²⁵ And you shall serve Jehovah your God, and He shall bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. ²⁶ Nothing shall cast their young, nor be barren in your land. The number of your days I will fulfill. ²⁷ I will send My fear before you, and will destroy all the people to whom you shall come. And I will make all your enemies turn their backs to you. ²⁸ And I will send hornets before you, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite before you. ²⁹ I will not drive them out from before you in one year, lest the land become a waste, and the beast of the field multiply against you. ³⁰ By little and little I will drive them out from before you, until you have increased, and inherit the land. ³¹ And I will stretch your bounds from the Red Sea even to the Sea of the Philistines, and from the desert to the river. For I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand, and you shall drive them out before you. ³² You shall make no covenant with them or with their gods. ³³ They shall not dwell in your land lest they make you sin against Me. For if you serve their gods, it surely will be a snare to you.

¹⁶ You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

⁷ Keep far from a false matter, and do not kill the innocent and righteous. For I will not justify the wicked.

¹¹ You shall not steal, nor lie, nor be deceitful to one another.

¹⁶ You shall not go as a slanderer among your people; you shall not stand against the blood of your neighbor. I am Jehovah.

²⁰ And you shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

¹⁶ If a false witness rises up against any man to testify a falling away against him, ¹⁷ then both the men who are disagreeing shall stand before Jehovah, before the priests and the judges which shall be in those days. ¹⁸ And the judges shall make careful inquiry. And behold, if the witness is a false witness and has testified falsely against his brother, ¹⁹ then you shall do to him as he had thought to have done to his brother. So you shall put the evil away from among you. ²⁰ And those who remain shall hear and fear, and shall commit from then on no such evil among you. ²¹ And your eye shall not pity. Life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.

³ And the king said, And where is your master's son? And Ziba said to the king, Behold, he remains at Jerusalem. For he said, Today the house of Israel shall restore to me the kingdom of my father.

²⁷ And he spoke slander against your servant to my lord the king. But my lord the king is as an angel of God. And do what is good in your eyes.

¹⁰ And set two men, sons of Belial, before him to bear witness against him, saying, You blasphemed God and the king. And carry him out and stone him so that he may die. ¹¹ And the men of his city, the elders and the nobles who lived in his city did as Jezebel had sent to them, as it was written in the letters which she had sent to them. ¹² They proclaimed a fast and set Naboth on high among the people. ¹³ And there came in two men, sons of Belial, and sat before him. And the men of Belial witnessed against him, against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth blasphemed God and the king. And they carried him out of the city and stoned him with stones so that he died.

³ he does not backbite with his tongue, nor does evil to his neighbor, nor takes up a reproach against his neighbor;

¹² Deliver me not over to the will of my enemies; for false witnesses have risen up against me, and he that breathes out cruelty.

¹¹ Cruel witnesses rose up; they asked of me that which I never knew.

⁵ Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, I will cut him off; him who has a high look and a proud heart, I will not allow.

³ What shall be given to you? Or what shall be done to you, O false tongue?

¹⁹ a false witness who speaks lies, and he who causes fighting among brothers.

¹⁸ He who hides hatred with lying lips, and he who speaks a slander, is a fool.

¹⁷ He who breathes truth shows forth righteousness, but a false witness deceit.

⁴ A wicked doer gives heed to false lips; a liar gives ear to an evil tongue.

⁵ A false witness shall not be unpunished, and a breather of lies shall not escape.

⁹ A false witness shall not be unpunished, and one speaking lies shall perish.

²⁸ An ungodly witness scorns judgment, and the mouth of the wicked devours iniquity.

²⁸ A false witness shall perish, but the man who hears speaks on and on.

²⁸ Do not be a witness against your neighbor without cause, nor deceive with your lips.

¹⁸ A man who bears false witness against his neighbor is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow.

²³ The north wind drives away rain; so does an angry face a backbiting tongue.

¹⁰ For I heard the slanders of many, Terror is all around! Expose! Yea, let us expose him! Every man of my peace is watching for my fall, saying, Perhaps he will be lured away, and we shall prevail over him, and we shall take our revenge on him.

¹⁸ He said to Him, Which? Jesus said, You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not bear false witness,

⁵⁹ And the chief priests and the elders and all the sanhedrin sought false witness against Jesus, in order to put Him to death. ⁶⁰ But they found none; yea, though many false witnesses came, they found none. But at last two false witnesses came up ⁶¹ and said, This one said, I am able to destroy the temple of God and to build it in three days.

¹⁴ And if this comes to the governor's ears, we will persuade him and make you free from care. ¹⁵ And taking the silver, they did as they were taught. And this saying was spread among the Jews until today.

¹⁴ And the soldiers also asked of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said to them, Do not forcibly extort anyone, nor accuse any falsely. And be content with your wages.

⁸ And Zaccheus stood and said to the Lord, Behold, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor. And in anything I accused anyone falsely, I restore it fourfold.

¹¹ And they induced men to be saying, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and God. ¹² And they stirred up the people and the elders and the scribes. And coming on, they seized him and brought him to the sanhedrin. ¹³ And they set up false witnesses, who said, This man does not cease speaking blasphemous words against this holy place and the Law.

⁸ And not rather, (as we are wrongly accused, and as some affirm that we say), Let us do bad things that good may come? Their condemnation is just.

²⁵ Therefore putting away lying, let each man speak truth with his neighbor, for we are members of one another.

³ without natural affection, unyielding, false accusers, without self-control, savage, despisers of good,

¹⁶ having a good conscience, that while they speak against you as evildoers they may be shamed, those falsely accusing your good behavior in Christ.

¹⁰ And I heard a great voice saying in Heaven, Now has come the salvation and power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ. For the accuser of our brothers is cast down, who accused them before our God day and night.

¹² And God looked upon the earth. And, behold, it was corrupted! For all flesh had corrupted its way upon the earth.

¹ And Jehovah said to Noah, You and all your house come into the ark, for I have seen you righteous before Me in this generation.

⁴ But before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, surrounded the house, both old and young, all the people from every quarter.

⁷ And he said, I pray you, brothers, do not act evilly. ⁸ Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man. I pray you, let me bring them out to you, and you do to them as you see fit. But do nothing to these men, for this is why they came under the shadow of my roof. ⁹ And they said, Stand back! And they said, This one came in to stay, and must he judge always? Now we will deal worse with you than with them. And they pressed hard upon the man, Lot, and came near to breaking the door.

⁶ You shall not pervert the judgment of your poor in his cause. ⁷ Keep far from a false matter, and do not kill the innocent and righteous. For I will not justify the wicked.

¹ And the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, and the people gathered themselves to Aaron. And they said to him, Up! Make us gods who shall go before us. For this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him. ² And Aaron said to them, Break off the golden earrings which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them to me. ³ And all the people broke off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them to Aaron. ⁴ And he took them from their hand, and fashioned it with an engraving tool. And he made it a molten calf. And they said, These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. ⁵ And when Aaron saw, he built an altar before it. And Aaron made proclamation and said, Tomorrow is a feast to Jehovah.

¹⁵ You shall do no unrighteousness in judgment. You shall not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty; but you shall judge your neighbor in righteousness.

¹ And all the congregation lifted up their voice and cried. And the people wept that night. ² And all the sons of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron. And the whole congregation said to them, Oh that we had died in the land of Egypt! Or, Oh that we had died in the wilderness! ³ And why has Jehovah brought us into this land to fall by the sword, so that our wives and our sons should be a prey? Would it not be better for us to return to Egypt? ⁴ And they said to one another, Let us make a leader, and let us return to Egypt. ⁵ And Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the sons of Israel. ⁶ And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, of those that searched the land, tore their clothes. ⁷ And they spoke to all the company of the sons of Israel saying, The land which we passed through to search is an exceedingly good land. ⁸ If Jehovah delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, a land which flows with milk and honey. ⁹ Only do not rebel against Jehovah, neither fear the people of the land. For they are bread for us. Their protection has moved from them, and Jehovah is with us. Do not fear them. ¹⁰ But all the congregation said to stone them with stones. And the glory of Jehovah appeared in the tabernacle of the congregation before all the sons of Israel.

¹⁷ You shall not respect persons in judgment. You shall hear the small as well as the great. You shall not be afraid of the face of man, for the judgment is God's. And the cause that is too hard for you, bring to me, and I will hear it.

¹⁹ You shall not pervert judgment; you shall not respect persons, nor take a gift. For a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and perverts the words of the righteous.

¹⁷ You shall not pervert the rightful judgment of the stranger nor of the fatherless; nor take a widow's clothing to pledge.

¹⁵ And if it seems evil to you to serve Jehovah, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served Beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you live. But as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah.

⁹ But Saul and the people spared Agag and the best of the sheep and of the oxen and of the fatlings and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not completely destroy them. But everything that was vile and feeble they completely destroyed.

¹⁰ And he said, I have been very zealous for Jehovah the God of Hosts. For the sons of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, thrown down Your altars, and have slain Your prophets with the sword. And I, I alone, am left. And they seek to take my life away.

³⁴ then let me tremble before a great multitude, and be terrified by the scorn of families; and I will be silent and not go out the door.

² He will judge Your people in righteousness, and Your poor with judgment.

¹⁰ My son, if sinners lure you, do not be willing. ¹¹ If they say, Come with us, let us lie in wait for blood, we will watch secretly for the innocent without cause;

¹⁵ My son, do not walk in the way with them! Keep back your foot from their path,

¹⁴ Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not into the way of evil.

¹⁵ And the rulers were angry with Jeremiah, and struck him, and put him in prison, the house of Jonathan the scribe. For they had made that the prison.

²¹ And Zedekiah the king commanded that they should put Jeremiah into the court of the prison, and that they should give him a piece of bread out of the bakers' street daily, until all the bread in the city was gone. So Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison.

⁵ Then Zedekiah the king said, Behold, he is in your hand. For the king cannot do a thing against you. ⁶ And they took Jeremiah and threw him into the pit of Malchiah the son of Hammelech, which was in the court of the prison. And they let Jeremiah down with ropes. And there was no water in the pit, only mud. So Jeremiah sank into the mud.

⁹ My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have thrown into the pit. And he is likely to die of hunger in the place where he is, for there is no more bread in the city.

⁹ And He said to me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is great, and the land is full of blood, and the city is full of perversity. For they say, Jehovah has forsaken the land; and, Jehovah does not see.

⁴ Is it time for you yourselves to dwell in your finished houses, and shall this House lie waste?

²⁴ But when Pilate saw that it gained nothing, but rather that a tumult was made, he took water and washed his hands before the crowd, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person. You see to it. ²⁵ Then all the people answered and said, Let His blood be on us and on our children. ²⁶ Then he released Barabbas to them. And when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified.

¹⁵ And deciding to do the easiest to the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them, and having scourged Him, delivered up Jesus to be crucified.

²³ But they pressed on him, with loud voices, requesting that He might be crucified. And their voices and those of the chief priests prevailed. ²⁴ And Pilate gave judgment that their request should be granted.

⁵¹ this one was not assenting to their counsel and deed. He was from Arimathea, a city of the Jews; and he also himself waited for the kingdom of God.

⁵⁰ Nicodemus said to them, (he who came to Jesus by night, being one of them), ⁵¹ Does our law judge the Man before it hears Him and knows what He does?

²⁷ But after two years Felix welcomed a successor, Porcius Festus. And wishing to show a favor to the Jews, Felix left Paul bound.

⁹ But Festus, wanting to please the Jews, answered Paul and said, Will you go up to Jerusalem and be judged there before me about these things?

³² who, knowing the righteous order of God, that those practicing such things are worthy of death, not only do them, but have pleasure in those practicing them.

¹¹ But when Peter came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he was to be blamed. ¹² For before some came from James, he ate with the nations. But when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those of the circumcision. ¹³ And the rest of the Jews also dissembled with him, so as even Barnabas was led away with their dissembling.

² How long will you judge unjustly and lift up the faces of the wicked? Selah. ³ Defend the poor and fatherless; do justice to the afflicted and needy.

¹⁷ But the wisdom that is from above is first truly pure, then peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

¹ You shall not see your brother's ox or his sheep go astray and hide yourself from them. You shall surely bring them again to your brother. ² And if your brother is not near you, or if you do not know him, then you shall bring it into your own house, and it shall be with you until your brother seeks after it, and you shall give it back to him again. ³ In the same way you shall do with his ass. And so shall you do with his clothing. And with any lost thing of your brother's, which he has lost and you have found, you shall do the same. You may not hide yourself. ⁴ You shall not see your brother's ass or his ox fall down by the way, and hide yourself from them. You shall surely help him to lift it up again.

²⁹ If I rejoiced at the ruin of my hater, and I was excited when evil found him; ³⁰ also I have not allowed my mouth to sin by asking his life with a curse;

¹⁷ Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles; ¹⁸ lest Jehovah see, and it displease Him, and He turn away His wrath from him.

²¹ If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink,

⁴⁴ But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who despitefully use you and persecute you,

²⁷ But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, ²⁸ bless those who curse you, and pray for those who despitefully use you.

¹⁷ Repay no one evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. ¹⁸ If it is possible, as far as is in you, being in peace with all men. ¹⁹ not avenging yourselves, beloved, but giving place to wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord." ²⁰ Therefore if your enemy hungers, feed him. If he thirsts, give him drink. For in so doing you shall heap coals of fire on his head. ²¹ Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

¹⁵ See that none gives evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue the good, both towards one another and towards all.

¹⁹ Cursed is he who perverts the judgment of the stranger, fatherless, and widow. And all the people shall say, Amen.

⁷ And now let the fear of Jehovah be on you. Be careful and act wisely, for there is no iniquity with Jehovah our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.

¹³ If I despised the cause of my man servant or of my slave-girl, when they argued with me;

²¹ if I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless when I watched over my help in the gate; ²² then let my arm fall from the shoulder blade, and let my arm be broken from the elbow.

³ Defend the poor and fatherless; do justice to the afflicted and needy. ⁴ Deliver the poor and needy; save them out of the hand of the wicked.

⁸ If you see the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, do not marvel at the matter. For He who is higher than the highest watches; and there are some higher than they.

¹ Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees, and to the scribes who write toil; ² to turn aside the needy from judgment, and to steal the right from the poor of My people, that widows may be their prey, and they rob the orphans!

²⁸ They have become fat, they shine. Yes, they go past the deeds of the wicked; they do not judge the cause, the cause of the fatherless, that they may get rich; and they do not judge the right of the needy.

²⁸ They are all grievous revolters, walking in slanders; they are bronze and iron; they are all corrupters.

⁶ if you do not oppress the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place, nor walk after other gods to your hurt;

¹¹ So, because of your trampling on the poor, and you take tribute of grain from him; you have built houses of carved stone, but you shall not dwell in them; you have planted desirable vineyards, but you shall not drink wine from them. ¹² For I know your many transgressions and your many sins. They afflict the just, they take a bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate.

¹ And I said, Please hear, O heads of Jacob and magistrates of the house of Israel. Is it not for you to know justice? ² You who hate the good and love the evil; who pull their skin off them, and their flesh from their bones; ³ who also eat the flesh of My people, and strip their skin off them. And they break their bones and chop them in pieces, like that in the pot, like those in the middle of the kettle. ⁴ Then they shall cry to Jehovah, but He will not answer them. He will even hide His face from them at that time, as they have done evil in their doings.

¹ Woe to her rebelling and becoming defiled, to the oppressing city! ² She did not obey the voice; she did not receive correction. She trusted not in Jehovah; she did not draw near to her God. ³ Her rulers within her are roaring lions; her judges evening wolves. They do not gnaw bones for the morning. ⁴ Her prophets are proud, men of deceit; her priests have defiled the sanctuary; they have done violence to the Law. ⁵ And I will come near you to judgment. And I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those who extort from the hired laborer's wages, and turning away the widow, and the orphan, the alien, and not fearing Me, says Jehovah of Hosts.

⁵ Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He has promised to those who love Him? ⁶ But you dishonored the poor one. Do not rich men oppress you and draw you before the judgment seats?

¹³ You shall not kill.

⁷ keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the sons, and on the sons of sons, to the third and to the fourth generation.

²⁵ Cursed is he who takes reward to kill an innocent person. And all the people shall say, Amen.

²³ If you return to the Almighty, you shall be built up; you shall put away injustice far from your tents.

¹⁴ Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not into the way of evil. ¹⁵ Avoid it; do not pass by it; turn from it, and pass on!

¹⁵ He who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the just, even both of them are hateful to Jehovah.

¹⁵ He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly; he who despises the gain of oppressions, who shakes his hands free from holding bribes, who stops his ear from hearing of blood, and shuts his eyes from seeing evil;

³ Jehovah is slow to anger, and great in power. And He does not by any means acquit the guilty. Jehovah has His way in the tempest and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of His feet.

¹⁸ For the wrath of God is revealed from Heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,

⁵ But according to your hardness and your impenitent heart, do you treasure up wrath for yourself in a day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, ⁶ who will render to each according to his works;

²² Abstain from every appearance of evil.

¹⁷ For Jehovah your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, the mighty, and a terrible God, who does not respect persons nor take a bribe.

³ And his sons did not walk in his ways, but turned aside after ill gain and took bribes and perverted judgment.

³ Behold, here I am. Witness against me before Jehovah and before His anointed. Whose ox have I taken? Or whose ass have I taken? Or whom have I defrauded? Whom have I oppressed? Or from whose hand have I received a bribe, to blind my eyes with it? And I will restore it to you.

¹⁰ in whose hands is a plot, and their right hand is full of a bribe.

²⁷ He who is greedy for gain troubles his own house, but he who hates bribes shall live.

⁸ A bribe is like a precious stone in the eyes of him who has it; wherever he turns, he is prudent.

²³ A wicked man takes a bribe out of the bosom to pervert the ways of judgment.

⁴ Wealth makes many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbor.

⁷ Surely oppression makes a wise man mad; and a bribe destroys the heart.

¹³ Bring no more vain sacrifice; incense is an abomination to Me; the new moon and sabbath, the going to meeting; I cannot endure evil and the assembly!

²³ who justify the wicked for a bribe, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!

¹² In you they have taken bribes to shed blood. You have taken usury and increase, and you gained by extortion of your neighbors, and you have forgotten Me, says the Lord Jehovah.

¹⁸ Their drink is sour; they are continually fornicating; her rulers dearly love shame.

¹² For I know your many transgressions and your many sins. They afflict the just, they take a bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate.

³ Both hands are on evil, to do it well. The ruler asks for a bribe, and the judge also; and the great man speaks the evil desire of his soul. So they weave it together.

²¹ But if he continues a day or two, he shall not be punished. For he is his money.

²¹ You shall neither vex a stranger nor oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.

¹⁹ Therefore love the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.

¹⁴ You shall not oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy, of your brothers, or of your strangers that are in your land within your gates. ¹⁵ At his day you shall give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down on it. For he is poor and sets his heart on it; lest he cry against you to Jehovah, and it shall be sin to you. ¹⁶ The fathers shall not be put to death for the sons, neither shall the sons be put to death for the fathers. Every man shall be put to death for his own sin. ¹⁷ You shall not pervert the rightful judgment of the stranger nor of the fatherless; nor take a widow's clothing to pledge. ¹⁸ But you shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and Jehovah your God redeemed you from there. Therefore I command you to do this thing.

⁶ They kill the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.

⁷ In you they have despised father and mother. In your midst they have dealt with the stranger by oppression. In you they oppressed the orphan and the widow.

³³ Should you not also have pitied your fellow servant, even as I had pity on you?

¹⁷ Therefore in all things it behoved him to be made like His brothers, that He might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of His people. ¹⁸ For in that He Himself has suffered, having been tempted, He is able to rescue those who are being tempted.

³ You shall sow your field six years, and you shall prune your vineyard six years, and gather in the fruit of it. ⁴ But in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of rest to the land, a sabbath for Jehovah. You shall neither sow your field, nor prune your vineyard.

² Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, When you come into the land which I give you, then shall the land keep a sabbath to Jehovah. ³ You shall sow your field six years, and you shall prune your vineyard six years, and gather in the fruit of it. ⁴ But in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of rest to the land, a sabbath for Jehovah. You shall neither sow your field, nor prune your vineyard. ⁵ You shall not reap that which grows of its own accord of your harvest, neither gather the grapes of your undressed vine. It is a year of rest to the land. ⁶ And the sabbath of the land shall be food for you, for you and for your servant, and for your slave woman and for your hired servant, and for your stranger who stays with you, ⁷ and for your cattle, and for the beast that is in your land, shall all the increase of it be for food.

¹¹ That fiftieth year shall be a jubilee to you. You shall not sow, neither reap that which grows of itself in it, nor gather in it of your undressed vine. ¹² For it is the jubilee. It shall be holy to you. You shall eat the increase of it out of the field.

²⁰ And if you shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? Behold, we shall not sow nor gather in our increase!

²² And you shall sow the eighth year, and eat of old fruit until the ninth year; until its fruits come in, you shall eat the old fruit.

³⁴ Then shall the land enjoy its sabbaths, as long as it lies waste, and you are in your enemies' land; then shall the land rest and enjoy its sabbaths. ³⁵ As long as it lies waste it shall rest, because it did not rest in your sabbaths when you lived on it.

⁸ Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. ⁹ Six days you shall labor and do all your work. ¹⁰ But the seventh day is the Sabbath of Jehovah your God. You shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger within your gates. ¹¹ For in six days Jehovah made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore Jehovah blessed the Sabbath day, and sanctified it.

¹⁵ Six days may work be done, but on the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to Jehovah. Whoever does any work in the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. ¹⁶ Therefore the sons of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations, for an everlasting covenant.

²¹ You shall work six days, but on the seventh day you shall rest. In plowing time and in harvest you shall rest.

³ You shall kindle no fire throughout your living places upon the Sabbath day.

¹³ Six days you shall labor and do all your work. ¹⁴ But the seventh day shall be the sabbath of Jehovah your God. In it you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your ox, nor your ass, nor any of your cattle, nor your stranger inside your gates, so that your manservant and your maidservant may rest like yourself. ¹⁵ And remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and Jehovah your God brought you out from there with a mighty hand and with a stretched-out arm. Therefore Jehovah your God commanded you to keep the sabbath day.

³ They say, Why have we fasted, and You do not see? Why have we afflicted our soul, and You take no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast you find pleasure, and crush all your laborers.

¹⁴ And answering, the synagogue ruler, being angry because Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, said to the crowd, There are six days in which it is right to work. Therefore in them come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.

³⁸ and Nebo, and Baal-meon (their names being changed) and Sibmah, and they gave other names to the cities which they built.

⁹ Only take heed to yourself and keep your soul carefully, lest you forget the things which your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. But teach them to your sons, and your sons' sons.

¹⁵ Therefore take good heed to yourselves, for you saw no kind of likeness on the day Jehovah spoke to you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire,

³ And you shall overthrow their altars and break their pillars, and burn their pillars with fire. And you shall cut down the carved images of their gods, and destroy their names out of that place.

⁵ Only, diligently take heed to do the commands and the Law which Moses the servant of Jehovah commanded you, to love Jehovah your God, and to walk in all His ways, and to keep His commandments, and to cleave to Him, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul.

⁷ so that you do not come among these nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them, nor bow yourselves to them.

¹¹ And take good heed to yourselves that you love Jehovah your God.

⁷ And I will establish his kingdom forever if he will always do My commandments and My judgments, as at this day. ⁸ And now in the sight of all Israel, the congregation of Jehovah, and in the hearing of our God, keep and seek for all the commandments of Jehovah your God, so that you may possess this good land and leave it for an inheritance for your sons after you forever. ⁹ And you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father and serve Him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind. For Jehovah searches all hearts and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you. But if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever.

⁴ Their sorrows shall be multiplied who run after another god. I will not pour out their drink offerings of blood; and I will not take their names on my lips.

¹ To the Chief Musician, to Jeduthun. A Psalm of David. I said, I will take heed to my ways so that I do not sin with my tongue; I will keep my mouth with a bridle while the wicked are before me.

¹¹ So you shall say to them, The gods who have not made the heavens and the earth, they shall perish from the earth and from under these heavens.

¹⁷ For I will take away the names of the Baals out of her mouth, and they will no more be remembered by their name.

² And it shall be in that day, says Jehovah of Hosts, I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall be remembered no more. And also I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land.

¹² For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret.

¹⁵ See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

¹⁶ Hold on to yourself and to the doctrine; continue in them, for doing this you shall both save yourself and those who hear you.

¹⁵ looking diligently lest any fail of the grace of God, or lest any root of bitterness springing up disturb you, and by it many are defiled,

¹⁷ Three times in the year all your males shall appear before the Lord God.

²² And you shall observe the Feast of Weeks, of the first-fruits of wheat harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering at the year's end. ²³ Three times in the year your men shall appear before the Lord Jehovah, the God of Israel. ²⁴ For I will cast out the nations before you and enlarge your borders. Neither shall any man desire your land when you shall go up to appear before Jehovah your God three times in the year.

⁵ In the fourteenth day of the first month, between the evenings, is Jehovah's Passover,

¹⁶ To the next day after the seventh sabbath you shall number fifty days. And you shall offer a new food offering to Jehovah.

³⁴ Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the Feast of Tabernacles for seven days to Jehovah.

¹⁶ Three times in a year shall all your males appear before Jehovah your God in the place which He shall choose: in the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and in the Feast of Weeks, and in the Feast of Tabernacles. And they shall not appear before Jehovah empty,

¹⁴ And this day shall be a memorial to you. And you shall keep it as a feast to Jehovah throughout your generations. You shall keep it as a feast by a law forever. ¹⁵ You shall eat unleavened bread seven days; even the first day you shall put away leaven out of your houses. For whoever eats leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel. ¹⁶ And on the first day shall be a holy gathering, and in the seventh day there shall be a holy gathering for you. No manner of work shall be done in them, except that which every man must eat, that only may be done by you. ¹⁷ And you shall keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread. For in this same day I have brought your armies out of the land of Egypt. Therefore you shall keep this day in your generations by a law forever. ¹⁸ In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at evening, you shall eat unleavened bread, until the twenty-first day of the month at evening. ¹⁹ Seven days there shall be no leaven found in your houses. For whoever eats that which is leavened, even that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, among the aliens and among the natives of the land. ²⁰ You shall eat nothing leavened. In all your dwelling-places you shall eat unleavened bread. ²¹ Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel and said to them, Draw out and take a lamb for yourselves according to your families, and kill the passover. ²² And you shall take a bunch of hyssop and dip in the blood in the bowl, and strike the lintel and the doorposts with the blood in the bowl. And none of you shall go out of the door of his house until the morning. ²³ For Jehovah will pass through to strike the Egyptians. And when He sees the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, Jehovah will pass over the door, and will not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you. ²⁴ And you shall observe this thing for a law to you and to your sons forever. ²⁵ And it shall be, when you have come to the land which Jehovah will give you, according as He has promised, that you shall keep this service. ²⁶ And it will be, when your sons shall say to you, What is this service to you? ²⁷ Then you shall say, It is the sacrifice of Jehovah's passover, who passed over the houses of the sons of Israel in Egypt, when He struck the Egyptians and delivered our houses. And the people bowed and worshiped. ²⁸ And the sons of Israel went away and did as Jehovah had commanded Moses and Aaron; so they did.

⁴³ And Jehovah said to Moses and Aaron, This is the ordinance of the Passover. No stranger shall eat of it. ⁴⁴ But every man's servant that is bought for silver, when you have circumcised him, then he shall eat of it. ⁴⁵ A foreigner and a hired servant shall not eat of it. ⁴⁶ It shall be eaten in one house. You shall not carry any of the flesh out of the house. Neither shall you break a bone of it. ⁴⁷ All the congregation of Israel shall keep it. ⁴⁸ And when a stranger shall stay with you, and desires to keep the Passover to Jehovah, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it. And he shall be as one that is born in the land. And no uncircumcised person shall eat of it. ⁴⁹ There shall be one law to the native, and to the visitor that stays among you.

⁴ You are going out this day in the month Abib.

⁶ You shall eat unleavened bread seven days, and in the seventh day shall be a feast to Jehovah. ⁷ Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days. And there shall be no leavened bread seen with you, nor shall there be leaven seen with you in all your borders.

¹⁸ You shall keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread. You shall eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded you, in the time of the month Abib. For in the month Abib you came out from Egypt.

²⁰ But the firstling of an ass you shall redeem with a lamb. And if you do not redeem it, then you shall break its neck. All the first-born of your sons you shall redeem. And none shall appear before Me empty.

⁵ In the fourteenth day of the first month, between the evenings, is Jehovah's Passover, ⁶ and on the fifteenth day of the same month is the Feast of Unleavened Bread to Jehovah. You must eat unleavened bread seven days. ⁷ On the first day you shall have a holy convocation. You shall do no work of labor, ⁸ but you shall offer a fire offering to Jehovah seven days. In the seventh day is a holy convocation. You shall do no work of labor.

¹⁰ Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, When you have come into the land which I give to you, and shall reap the harvest of it, then you shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest to the priest.

² Let the sons of Israel also keep the Passover at its appointed time. ³ In the fourteenth day of this month, between the evenings, you shall keep it in its appointed time. You shall keep it according to all its statutes, and according to all the ceremonies of it. ⁴ And Moses spoke to the sons of Israel to prepare the Passover. ⁵ And they prepared the Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month between the evenings, in the wilderness of Sinai. According to all that Jehovah commanded Moses, so all the sons of Israel did. ⁶ And there were certain men who were defiled by the dead body of a man, so that they could not prepare the Passover on that day. And they came before Moses and before Aaron on that day. ⁷ And those men said to him, We are defiled by the dead body of a man. Why are we kept back that we may not offer an offering of Jehovah in its appointed time among the sons of Israel? ⁸ And Moses said to them, You wait, and I will hear what Jehovah will command about you. ⁹ And Jehovah spoke to Moses saying, ¹⁰ Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, If any man of you or of your generations shall be unclean because of a dead body, or in a journey afar off, he shall still keep the Passover to Jehovah. ¹¹ They shall keep it the fourteenth day of the second month at evening, eating it with unleavened cakes and bitter herbs. ¹² They shall leave none of it until the morning, nor break any bone of it. According to all the ordinances of the Passover they shall keep it. ¹³ But the man that is clean, and is not in a journey, and holds back from preparing the Passover, even the same soul shall be cut off from among his people. Because he did not bring the offering of Jehovah in His appointed time, that man shall bear his sin. ¹⁴ And if a stranger shall live among you, and prepares the Passover to Jehovah, he shall do according to the ordinance of the Passover, and according to its ordinance. You shall have one ordinance, both for the stranger and for him that was born in the land.

¹⁶ And in the fourteenth day of the first month is the Passover of Jehovah. ¹⁷ And in the fifteenth day of this month is the feast. Seven days shall unleavened bread be eaten. ¹⁸ In the first day shall be a holy convocation. You shall do no kind of laboring work. ¹⁹ But you shall offer a fire offering for a burnt offering to Jehovah: two young bulls, and one ram, and seven lambs of the first year. They shall be to you without blemish. ²⁰ And their food offering shall be of flour mixed with oil: three tenth parts you shall prepare for a bull, and two tenth parts for a ram. ²¹ You shall prepare one tenth part for the one lamb, and for the seven lambs; ²² and one goat, a sin offering to make an atonement for you. ²³ You shall prepare these besides the burnt offering in the morning, which is for a continual burnt offering. ²⁴ In this way you shall offer daily, seven days, the bread of the fire offering, a sweet savor to Jehovah. It shall be offered besides the continual burnt offering and its drink offering. ²⁵ And on the seventh day you shall have a holy convocation. You shall do no laboring work.

¹ Observe the month Abib, and keep the Passover to Jehovah your God. For in the month of Abib, Jehovah your God brought you forth out of Egypt by night. ² And you shall therefore sacrifice the Passover to Jehovah your God, of the flock and the herd, in the place which Jehovah shall choose to place His name there. ³ You shall eat no leavened bread with it. Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread with it, the bread of affliction, for you came forth out of the land of Egypt in haste, so that you may remember the day that you came forth out of the land of Egypt all the days of your life. ⁴ And there shall be no leavened bread seen with you in all your borders for seven days. Nor shall any of the flesh which you sacrificed in the first day at evening remain all night until the morning. ⁵ You may not sacrifice the Passover within any of your gates, which Jehovah your God gives you, ⁶ but at the place which Jehovah your God shall choose to place His name in, there you shall sacrifice the Passover at evening, at the going of the sun, at the time that you came out of Egypt. ⁷ And you shall roast and eat in the place which Jehovah your God shall choose. And in the morning you shall turn and go to your tents. ⁸ Six days you shall eat unleavened bread. And on the seventh day shall be a solemn assembly to Jehovah your God. You shall do no work.

¹⁰ And the sons of Israel camped in Gilgal and kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the month at evening in the plains of Jericho. ¹¹ And they ate of the old grain of the land on the next day after the Passover, unleavened cakes and roasted grain in the same day.

²¹ And the king commanded all the people saying, Prepare the Passover to Jehovah your God, as it is written in the Book of the Covenant. ²² Surely there was not held such a Passover from the days of the judges who judged Israel, nor in all the days of the kings of Israel, nor of the kings of Judah, ²³ but in the eighteenth year of King Josiah, this Passover was held to Jehovah in Jerusalem.

⁹ Honor Jehovah with your substance, and with the firstfruits of all your increase; ¹⁰ and your barns shall be filled with plenty, and your presses shall burst with new wine.

¹² And the first day of Unleavened Bread, when they killed the passover, His disciples said to Him, Where do You desire that we go and prepare that You may eat the passover?

⁷ And the day of the Unleavened Bread came, when the passover must be killed.

⁷ Therefore purge out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, as you are unleavened. For also Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us. ⁸ Therefore let us keep the feast; not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

²⁹ You shall not delay giving the fullness of your crops and juices of your vintage. You shall give the first-born of your sons to Me.

²² And you shall observe the Feast of Weeks, of the first-fruits of wheat harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering at the year's end.

⁹ And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, ¹⁰ Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, When you have come into the land which I give to you, and shall reap the harvest of it, then you shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest to the priest. ¹¹ And he shall wave the sheaf before Jehovah to be received for you. On the next day after the sabbath the priest shall wave it. ¹² And you shall offer that day when you wave the sheaf, a male lamb without blemish of the first year for a burnt offering to Jehovah. ¹³ And its food offering shall be two-tenths part of fine flour mixed with oil, a fire offering to Jehovah for a sweet savor. And the drink offering of it shall be of wine, the fourth part of a hin. ¹⁴ And you shall eat neither bread, nor parched grain, nor green ears, until the same day, until you have brought an offering to your God. It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. ¹⁵ And you shall count to you from the next day after the sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete. ¹⁶ To the next day after the seventh sabbath you shall number fifty days. And you shall offer a new food offering to Jehovah. ¹⁷ You shall bring out of your homes two wave loaves of two-tenth parts. They shall be of fine flour. They shall be baked with leaven, firstfruits to Jehovah. ¹⁸ And you shall offer with the bread seven lambs without blemish of the first year, and one young bull, and two rams. They shall be for a burnt offering to Jehovah, with their food offering, and their drink offerings, a fire offering of sweet savor to Jehovah. ¹⁹ Then you shall sacrifice one he-goat for a sin offering, and two lambs of the first year for a sacrifice of peace offerings. ²⁰ And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the firstfruits, a wave offering before Jehovah, with the two lambs. They shall be holy to Jehovah for the priest. ²¹ And you shall proclaim on the same day that it may be a holy convocation to you. You shall do no work of labor. It shall be a statute forever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.

³⁴ Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the Feast of Tabernacles for seven days to Jehovah. ³⁵ On the first day shall be a holy convocation. You shall do no work of labor. ³⁶ Seven days you shall offer a fire offering to Jehovah. On the eighth day shall be a holy convocation to you. And you shall offer a fire offering to Jehovah. It is a solemn assembly. And you shall do no work of labor. ³⁷ These are the feasts of Jehovah which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer a fire offering to Jehovah, a burnt offering and a food offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, everything on its day; ³⁸ besides the sabbath of Jehovah, and besides your gifts, and besides all your vows, and besides all your free-will offerings which you give to Jehovah. ³⁹ Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the fruit of the land, you shall keep a feast to Jehovah seven days. On the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath. ⁴⁰ And you shall take the fruit of majestic trees for yourselves on the first day, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the valley. And you shall rejoice before Jehovah your God seven days. ⁴¹ And you shall keep it a feast to Jehovah seven days in the year. It shall be a statute forever in your generations. You shall keep it in the seventh month. ⁴² You shall live in booths seven days. All that are born Israelites shall live in booths, ⁴³ so that your generations may know that I made the sons of Israel live in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt. I am Jehovah your God. ⁴⁴ And Moses declared the feasts of Jehovah to the sons of Israel.

²⁶ And in the day of the first-fruits, when you bring a new food offering to Jehovah in your Feast of Weeks, you shall have a holy convocation. You shall do no laboring work. ²⁷ And you shall offer the burnt offering for a sweet savor to Jehovah: two young bulls, one ram, seven lambs of the first year; ²⁸ and their food offering of flour mixed with oil, three tenth parts to one bull, two tenth parts to one ram, ²⁹ one tenth part to one lamb, for the seven lambs, ³⁰ one kid of the goats, to make an atonement for you. ³¹ You shall offer them besides the continual burnt offering and its food offering and their drink offerings. They shall be to you without blemish.

They shall be without blemish. ¹⁴ And their food offering shall be flour, mixed with oil, three tenth parts to every bull of the thirteen bulls, two tenth parts to each ram of the two rams, ¹⁵ and one tenth part to each lamb of the fourteen lambs; ¹⁶ and one kid of the goats for a sin offering, besides the continual burnt offering, its food offering, and its drink offering. ¹⁷ And on the second day you shall offer twelve young bulls, two rams, fourteen lambs of the first year without spot; ¹⁸ and their food offering and their drink offerings for the bulls, for the rams, and for the lambs, shall be according to their number, according to the law; ¹⁹ and one kid of the goats for a sin offering, besides the continual burnt offering and its food offering, and their drink offerings. ²⁰ And on the third day eleven bulls, two rams, fourteen lambs of the first year without blemish; ²¹ and their food offering and their drink offerings for the bulls, for the rams, and for the lambs, shall be according to their number, according to the law; ²² and one goat for a sin offering, besides the continual burnt offering and its food offering and its drink offering. ²³ And on the fourth day ten bulls, two rams, fourteen lambs of the first year without blemish; ²⁴ their food offering and their drink offerings for the bulls, for the rams, and for the lambs, shall be according to their number, according to the law; ²⁵ and one kid of the goats for a sin offering, besides the continual burnt offering, its food offering, and its drink offering. ²⁶ And on the fifth day nine bulls, two rams, fourteen lambs of the first year without spot; ²⁷ and their food offering and their drink offerings for the bulls, for the rams, and for the lambs, shall be according to their number, according to the law; ²⁸ and one goat for a sin offering, besides the continual burnt offering and its food offering and its drink offering. ²⁹ And on the sixth day eight bulls, two rams, fourteen lambs of the first year without blemish; ³⁰ and their food offering and their drink offerings for the bulls, for the rams, for the lambs, shall be according to their number, according to the law; ³¹ and one goat for a sin offering, besides the continual burnt offering, its food offering, and its drink offering. ³² And on the seventh day seven bulls, two rams, and fourteen lambs of the first year without blemish; ³³ and their food offering and their drink offerings for the bulls, for the rams, and for the lambs, shall be according to their number, according to the law; ³⁴ and one goat for a sin offering, besides the continual burnt offering, its food offering, and its drink offering. ³⁵ On the eighth day you shall have a solemn assembly. You shall do no laboring work. ³⁶ But you shall offer a burnt offering, a fire offering of a sweet savor to Jehovah: one bull, one ram, seven lambs of the first year without blemish; ³⁷ their food offering and their drink offerings for the bull, for the ram, and for the lambs, according to their number, according to the law; ³⁸ and one goat for a sin offering, besides the continual burnt offering, and its food offering and its drink offering. ³⁹ You shall prepare these to Jehovah in your appointed seasons, besides your vows and your free-will offerings, for your burnt offerings, and for your food offerings, and for your drink offerings, and for your peace offerings.

⁹ You shall count seven weeks to yourselves. Begin to count the seven weeks from the time you began to put the sickle to the grain. ¹⁰ And you shall keep the Feast of Weeks to Jehovah your God with a measure of a free-will offering of your hand, which you shall give according as Jehovah your God has blessed you. ¹¹ And you shall rejoice before Jehovah your God, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your male servant, and your slave girl, and the Levite inside your gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, those among you, in the place which Jehovah your God has chosen to place His name there. ¹² And you shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt. And you shall be careful to do these statutes. ¹³ You shall keep the Feast of Tabernacles seven days after you have gathered in your grain floor and your wine press. ¹⁴ And you shall rejoice in your feast, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your male slave, and your slave-girl, and the Levite, the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow inside your gates. ¹⁵ Seven days you shall keep a solemn feast to Jehovah your God in the place which Jehovah shall choose. Because Jehovah your God shall bless you in all your increase, and in all the works of your hands, therefore you shall surely rejoice.

¹⁴ And they found written in the Law which Jehovah had commanded by Moses, that the sons of Israel should dwell in booths in the feast of the seventh month, ¹⁵ and that they should publish and proclaim in all their cities, and in Jerusalem, saying, Go forth to the mountain and bring olive branches and pine branches and myrtle branches and palm branches, and branches of thick trees, to make booths, as it is written. ¹⁶ And the people went out and brought in, and made themselves booths, each one upon his roof, and in their courts, and in the courts of the house of God, and in the street of the Water Gate, and in the street of the Gate of Ephraim. ¹⁷ And all the congregation of those who had come again out of the captivity made booths, and sat under the booths. For since the days of Joshua the son of Nun until that day, the sons of Israel had not done so. And there was very great gladness. ¹⁸ Also day by day, from the first day until the last day, he read in the Book of the Law of God. And they kept the feast seven days, and on the eighth was an assembly, according to the Law.

¹⁶ And it shall be, everyone who is left of all the nations which came up against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, Jehovah of Hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. ¹⁷ And it shall be, whoever will not come up from all the families of the earth to Jerusalem to worship the King, Jehovah of Hosts, even on them shall be no rain. ¹⁸ And if the family of Egypt does not go up, nor come in, they shall have no rain, but the plague with which Jehovah shall strike the nations who do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. ¹⁹ This shall be Egypt's offense, and the offense of all the nations who do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.

² And the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles was near.

³⁷ And in the last day of the great feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.

¹ And in the fulfilling of the day of Pentecost, they were all with one accord in one place.

¹⁴ You shall keep a feast to Me three times in the year.

²³ Three times in the year your men shall appear before the Lord Jehovah, the God of Israel.

⁵ But you shall seek to the place which Jehovah your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put His name there, even to His dwelling place you shall seek, and there you shall come.

¹¹ when all Israel has come to appear before Jehovah your God in the place which He shall choose, you shall read this Law before all Israel in their hearing.

⁷ They go from strength to strength, appearing in Zion before God.

⁴² And when He was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the Feast.

⁸ And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roasted with fire, and unleavened bread. They shall eat it with bitter herbs.

¹⁰ And you shall not let any of it remain until the morning. And that which remains of it until the morning you shall burn with fire.

¹⁵ You shall eat unleavened bread seven days; even the first day you shall put away leaven out of your houses. For whoever eats leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.

²⁵ You shall not slaughter the blood of My sacrifice with leaven. Neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the Passover be left to the morning.

¹¹ Any food offering which you shall bring to Jehovah shall not be made with leaven. For you shall burn no leaven, nor any honey, in any offering of Jehovah made by fire.

¹² If he offers it for a thanksgiving, then he shall offer with the sacrifice of thanksgiving unleavened cakes mixed with oil, and unleavened wafers anointed with oil, and cakes mixed with oil, of fine flour, fried.

¹⁵ And the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offerings for thanksgiving shall be eaten the same day that it is offered. He shall not leave any of it until the morning.

⁴ And there shall be no leavened bread seen with you in all your borders for seven days. Nor shall any of the flesh which you sacrificed in the first day at evening remain all night until the morning.

²⁶ The first of the first-fruits of your land you shall bring to the house of Jehovah your God. You shall not boil a kid in its mother's milk.

¹⁰ Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, When you have come into the land which I give to you, and shall reap the harvest of it, then you shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest to the priest. ¹¹ And he shall wave the sheaf before Jehovah to be received for you. On the next day after the sabbath the priest shall wave it. ¹² And you shall offer that day when you wave the sheaf, a male lamb without blemish of the first year for a burnt offering to Jehovah. ¹³ And its food offering shall be two-tenths part of fine flour mixed with oil, a fire offering to Jehovah for a sweet savor. And the drink offering of it shall be of wine, the fourth part of a hin. ¹⁴ And you shall eat neither bread, nor parched grain, nor green ears, until the same day, until you have brought an offering to your God. It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. ¹⁵ And you shall count to you from the next day after the sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete. ¹⁶ To the next day after the seventh sabbath you shall number fifty days. And you shall offer a new food offering to Jehovah. ¹⁷ You shall bring out of your homes two wave loaves of two-tenth parts. They shall be of fine flour. They shall be baked with leaven, firstfruits to Jehovah.

¹² All the best of the oil, and all the best of the wine, and of the wheat, the first-fruits of them which they shall offer to Jehovah, I have given them to you. ¹³ The first fruits of all that is in the land, which they shall bring to Jehovah, shall be yours. Everyone that is clean in your house shall eat of it.

⁵ But you shall seek to the place which Jehovah your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put His name there, even to His dwelling place you shall seek, and there you shall come. ⁶ And there you shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and heave offering of your hand, and your vows, and your free-will offerings, and the first-born of your herds and of your flocks. ⁷ And there you shall eat before Jehovah your God, and you shall rejoice in all that you put your hand to, you and your households in which Jehovah your God has blessed you.

²¹ You shall not eat anything that dies of itself. You shall give it to the stranger that is in your gates, so that he may eat it. Or you may sell it to a stranger. For you are a holy people to Jehovah your God. You shall not boil a kid in its mother's milk.

² you shall take of the first of all the fruit of the earth which you shall bring of your land that Jehovah your God gives you, and you shall put it in a basket, and shall go to the place which Jehovah your God shall choose to place His name there.

¹⁰ And now, behold, I have brought the firstfruits of the land which You, O Jehovah, have given me. And you shall set it before Jehovah your God, and worship before Jehovah your God.

³⁵ and to bring the firstfruits of our ground, and the firstfruits of all fruit of all trees, year by year, to the house of Jehovah;

¹⁰ A righteous one understands the soul of his animal; but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

³ For the customs of the people are vain; for one cuts a tree out of the forest with the axe, the work of the hands of the workman.

²⁰ But now Christ has risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruit of those who slept.

⁴ These are those who were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are those who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These were redeemed from among men, as a firstfruit to God and to the Lamb.

¹⁸ In the same day Jehovah made a covenant with Abram, saying, I have given this land to your seed, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates,

¹⁶ the Angel who redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads. And let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac, and let them grow like the fishes into a multitude in the midst of the earth.

² And the Angel of Jehovah appeared to him in a flame of fire, out of the midst of a thorn bush. And he looked. And behold! The thorn bush burned with fire! And the thorn bush was not burned up. ³ And Moses said, I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the thorn bush is not burned up. ⁴ And Jehovah saw that he had turned aside to see. God called to him out of the midst of the thorn bush, and said, Moses! Moses! And he said, Here I am. ⁵ And He said, Do not come near here. Pull off your sandals from your feet, for the place on which you stand is holy ground. ⁶ And He said, I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God.

¹⁹ And the Angel of God, the one who went before the camp of Israel, moved. And he went to the rear of them. And the pillar of the cloud went from in front of their face and it stood behind them.

¹⁷ You shall bring them and plant them in the mountain of Your inheritance, the place, O Jehovah, You have made for You to dwell in; the Sanctuary, O Jehovah, which Your hands have established.

³⁴ And now go, lead the people to the place of which I have spoken to you. Behold, My Angel shall go before you. And in the day of My visitation I will visit their sin upon them.

² And I will send an Angel before you. And I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite;

¹⁴ And He said, My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest.

¹⁶ And when we cried to Jehovah, He heard our voice and sent an Angel, and has brought us forth out of Egypt. And behold! We are in Kadesh, a city in the outermost part of your border.

¹³ And it happened, when Joshua was beside Jericho, he lifted up his eyes and looked. And, behold, there stood a Man in front of him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said to Him, Are You for us, or for our foes?

² And Jehovah said to Joshua, See, I have given Jericho into your hand, and its king, and the mighty men of war.

¹¹ For He shall give His angels charge over You, to keep You in all Your ways.

⁹ In all their affliction He was afflicted, and the Angel of His Presence saved them; in His love and in His pity He redeemed them; and He bore them, and carried them all the days of old.

¹ Behold, I will send My messenger, and He will clear the way before Me. And Jehovah, whom you seek, shall suddenly come to His temple, even the Angel of the Covenant, in whom you delight. Behold, He comes, says Jehovah of Hosts.

³⁴ Then the King shall say to those on His right hand, Come, blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

³ And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, so that where I am, you may be also.

⁹ Nor let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted Him and were destroyed by serpents. ¹⁰ Nor murmur as some of them also murmured and were destroyed by the destroyer.

¹⁴ And God said to Moses, I AM THAT I AM. And He said, So you shall say to the sons of Israel, I AM has sent me to you.

³ And I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob as God Almighty. But I was not known to them by the name JEHOVAH.

⁵ And Jehovah came down in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of Jehovah. ⁶ And Jehovah passed by before him and proclaimed, Jehovah! Jehovah God, merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, ⁷ keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the sons, and on the sons of sons, to the third and to the fourth generation.

¹¹ And Jehovah said to Moses, How long will this people provoke Me? And how long will it be before they believe Me, for all the signs which I have shown among them?

³⁵ I Jehovah have spoken; I will surely do it to all this evil congregation who are gathered together against Me. They shall be destroyed in this wilderness, and there they shall die.

¹⁹ And it shall happen, whatever man will not listen to My Words which He shall speak in My name, I will require it of him.

¹⁹ And Joshua said to the people, You cannot serve Jehovah, for He is a holy God. He is a jealous God. He will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.

¹² Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish from the way, when His wrath is kindled in but a little time. Blessed are all who put their trust in Him.

¹⁹ And blessed be His glorious name forever; and all the earth is filled with His glory! Amen and Amen.

⁴⁰ How often they provoked Him in the wilderness, and grieved Him in the desert!

⁵⁶ Yet they tempted and provoked the Most High God, and kept not His testimonies;

¹⁸ so that men may know that Your name is JEHOVAH, that You alone are the Most High over all the earth.

¹⁴ So, the Lord Himself shall give you a sign. Behold, the virgin will conceive and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call His name Immanuel.

⁶ For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be on His shoulder; and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

⁸ I am Jehovah; that is My name; and My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to graven images.

⁶ that they may know from the rising of the sun, and to the sunset, that there is none besides Me. I am Jehovah, and there is none else;

¹⁵ For so says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity; whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, even with the contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

⁷ Why shall I pardon you for this? Your sons have forsaken Me, and have sworn by No-gods. When I adjured them, then they committed adultery, and gathered themselves by troops in a harlot's house.

⁶ In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely. And this is His name by which He shall be called, JEHOVAH, OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

²³ "Behold, the virgin shall conceive in her womb, and will bear a son. And they will call His name Emmanuel," which being interpreted is, God with us.

⁵ While he yet spoke, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them. And behold a voice out of the cloud which said, This is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased, hear Him.

²³ so that all should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.

³⁰ I and the Father are one!

³⁸ But if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works so that you may know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.

⁹ Jesus said to him, Have I been with you such a long time and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father. And how do you say, Show us the Father? ¹⁰ Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father in Me? The Words that I speak to you I do not speak of Myself, but the Father who dwells in Me, He does the works.

³⁰ And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you are sealed until the day of redemption.

⁹ For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.

¹⁰ Therefore I was grieved with that generation and said, They always err in their heart, and they have not known My ways. ¹¹ So I swore in My wrath, They shall not enter into My rest."

¹⁶ For some, when they had heard, did provoke; however, not all who came out of Egypt by Moses.

²⁶ For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins, ²⁷ but a certain fearful looking for judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. ²⁸ He who despised Moses' Law died without mercy on the word of two or three witnesses. ²⁹ Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy of punishment, the one who has trampled the Son of God, and who has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?

²⁵ See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape, those who refused him that spoke on earth, much more we shall not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from Heaven,

¹⁶ If anyone sees his brother sin a sin not to death, he shall ask, and He shall give him life for those that do not sin to death. There is a sin to death, I do not say that he shall pray for it.

⁸ I am the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the Ending, says the Lord, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.

⁸ And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: The First and the Last, who became dead and lived, says these things:

²³ And I will kill her children with death. And all the churches will know that I am He who searches the reins and hearts, and I will give to every one of you according to your works.

⁷ And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: He who is holy, He who is true, He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts; and shuts and no one opens, says these things:

³ And I will bless those that bless you and curse the one who curses you. And in you shall all families of the earth be blessed.

⁹ He crouched. He lay down as a lion, and as a great lion. Who shall stir him up? Blessed is he who blesses you, and cursed is he who curses you.

⁷ And Jehovah your God will put all these curses on your enemies, and on those that hate you, who persecuted you.

²⁰ Also their sons shall be as they were before, and their congregation shall be established before Me, and I will punish all who ill-treat them.

⁸ For so says Jehovah of Hosts: He has sent me after glory, to the nations who stripped you; for he who touches you touches the pupil of His eye.

⁴ And he fell to the earth and heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul, why do you persecute Me? ⁵ And he said, Who are you, lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom you persecute. It is hard for you to kick against the goads.

¹⁹ the Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites, ²⁰ and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the giants, ²¹ and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.

² And when Shechem, the son of Hamor the Hivite, prince of the country, saw her, he took her and lay with her, and humbled her.

¹⁷ And I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, to a land flowing with milk and honey.

²⁰ Behold, I send an Angel before you, to keep you in the way, and to bring you to the place which I have prepared.

² And Aaron said to them, Break off the golden earrings which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them to me.

⁸ And I brought you into the land of the Amorites who lived on the other side Jordan. And they fought with you, and I gave them into your hand so that you might possess their land. And I destroyed them from before you. ⁹ Then Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, arose and warred against Israel, and sent and called Balaam the son of Beor to curse you. ¹⁰ But I would not listen to Balaam. And he still blessed you. And I delivered you out of his hand. ¹¹ And you went over Jordan and came to Jericho. And the men of Jericho fought against you, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Girgashites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites. And I delivered them into your hand.

¹³ For this My people go into exile without knowledge, and their honorable men into famine, and his multitude is dried up with thirst.

⁵ You shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them. For I Jehovah your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the sons to the third and fourth generation of those that hate me,

²⁰ And he took the calf which they had made and burned it in the fire, and ground it to powder, and dropped it upon the water, and made the sons of Israel drink of it.

¹³ But you shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their sacred poles. ¹⁴ For you shall worship no other god. For Jehovah, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God;

³ You shall not do like the doings of the land of Egypt in which you lived. And you shall not do like the doings of the land of Canaan, where I bring you. Neither shall you walk in their ordinances.

²⁶ You shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations, neither the native, nor any stranger that lives among you. ²⁷ For the men of the land who were before you have done all these abominations, and the land is defiled. ²⁸ You shall not do these so that the land may not spew you out also when you defile it, as it spewed out the nations that were before you. ²⁹ For whoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls who commit them shall be cut off from among their people. ³⁰ And you shall keep My ordinance, so as not to do any of these abominable customs which were committed before you, and that you do not defile yourselves in them. I am Jehovah your God.

⁵² then you shall drive out all those who live in the land from before you, and destroy all their carved images, and destroy all their molded images and pluck down all their high places.

⁵ But you shall deal with them in this way: you shall destroy their altars and break down their images, and cut down their groves and burn their graven images with fire.

²⁵ You shall burn the graven images of their gods with fire. You shall not desire the silver or gold on them, nor take it for yourself, so that you may not be snared in it. For it is an abomination to Jehovah your God. ²⁶ And you shall not bring an abomination into your house, lest you be a cursed thing like it. You shall utterly hate it, and you shall utterly despise it. For it is a cursed thing.

³⁰ take heed to yourself that you do not become snared by following them, after they are destroyed from before you, and that you do not ask about their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods, that I too may do likewise? ³¹ You shall not do so to Jehovah your God. For every abomination to Jehovah, which He hates, they have done to their gods; even their sons and their daughters they have burned in the fire to their gods.

² But he did the evil in the sight of Jehovah, like the abominations of the heathen whom Jehovah had cast out before the sons of Israel.

⁹ And Manasseh made Judah and the people of Jerusalem to err, to do worse than the nations whom Jehovah had destroyed before the sons of Israel.

³ For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was still young, he began to seek after the God of David his father. And in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, and the Asherahs, and the carved images, and the molten images. ⁴ And they broke down the altars of the Baals in his presence. And he cut down the images which were on high above them, and the Asherahs. And the carved images and the molten images he also broke in pieces and made dust from them, and scattered on the graves of the ones who had sacrificed to them. ⁵ And he burned the bones of the priests on their altars and cleansed Judah and Jerusalem. ⁶ And so he did in the cities of Manasseh and Ephraim and Simeon, even to Naphtali, with their tools round about. ⁷ And he broke down the altars and the Asherahs, and had beaten the carved images into powder, and cut down all the idols in all the land of Israel, he returned to Jerusalem.

³ I will set no wicked thing before my eyes. I have hated the work of those who turn aside; it shall not hold on to me.

³⁵ but were mixed among the nations, and learned their works. ³⁶ And they served their idols, which were a snare to them. ³⁷ Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons, ³⁸ and shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan; and the land was defiled with blood.

⁴⁷ Yet you have not walked according to their ways, nor done according to their hateful deeds; but, as if it were a very little thing, you were corrupted more than they were in all your ways.

²⁶ And he said, If you will carefully listen to the voice of Jehovah your God, and will do that which is right in His sight, and will give ear to His commandments, and keep all His Laws, I will put none of these diseases upon you, which I have brought upon the Egyptians; for I am Jehovah who heals you.

¹³ You shall fear Jehovah your God and serve Him, and shall swear by His name.

¹³ And He will love you and bless you and multiply you. He will also bless the fruit of your womb, and the fruit of your land, your grain, and your wine, and your oil, the increase of your cattle, and the flocks of your sheep, in the land which He swore to your fathers to give you.

¹⁵ And Jehovah will take away from you all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt which you know upon you. But He will lay them upon all who hate you.

¹² And now, Israel, what does Jehovah your God ask of you, but to fear Jehovah your God, to walk in all His ways, and to love Him, and to serve Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul,

²⁰ You shall fear Jehovah your God. You shall serve Him, and you shall hold fast to Him, and swear by His name.

¹³ And it will be, if you will listen carefully to My commandments which I command you today, to love Jehovah your God and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul, ¹⁴ I will give the rain of your land in its due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain and your wine and your oil.

⁴ You shall walk after Jehovah your God and fear Him, and keep His commandments, and obey His voice, and you shall serve Him and hold fast to Him.

¹ And it will be, if you shall listen carefully to the voice of Jehovah your God, to observe and to do all His commandments which I command you today, Jehovah your God will set you on high above all nations of the earth. ² And all these blessings shall come on you and overtake you, if you will listen to the voice of Jehovah your God. ³ You shall be blessed in the city, and be blessed in the field. ⁴ The fruit of your body shall be blessed, and the fruit of your ground, and the fruit of your cattle, the increase of your cows, and the flocks of your sheep. ⁵ Your basket and your store shall be blessed. ⁶ You shall be blessed when you come in, and blessed when you go out. ⁷ Jehovah shall cause your enemies that rise up against you to be stricken before your face. They shall come out against you one way, and flee before you seven ways. ⁸ Jehovah shall command the blessing on you in your storehouses, and all that you set your hand to. And He shall bless you in the land which Jehovah your God gives you. ⁹ Jehovah shall establish you a holy people to Himself, as He has sworn to you, if you shall keep the commandments of Jehovah your God and walk in His ways. ¹⁰ And all the peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of Jehovah, and they shall be afraid of you. ¹¹ And Jehovah shall prosper you in goods, in the fruit of your body, and in the fruit of your cattle, and in the fruit of your ground, in the land which Jehovah swore to your fathers to give you. ¹² Jehovah shall open to you His good treasure, the heaven to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. And you shall loan to many nations, and you shall not borrow. ¹³ And Jehovah shall make you the head, and not the tail. And you shall be always above, and you shall not be beneath, if you listen to the commandments of Jehovah your God, which I command you today, to observe and to do them. ¹⁴ And you shall not go aside from any of the words which I command you today, to the right hand or the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

¹⁴ Now, then, fear Jehovah, and serve Him in sincerity and truth. And put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt, and serve Jehovah. ¹⁵ And if it seems evil to you to serve Jehovah, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served Beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you live. But as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah.

²¹ And the people said to Joshua, No, but we will serve Jehovah.

²⁴ And the people said to Joshua, We will serve Jehovah our God, and His voice we will obey.

³ And Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel saying, If you return to Jehovah with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts to Jehovah, and serve Him only. And He will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.

²⁰ And Samuel said to the people, Do not fear. You have done all this wickedness. Yet do not turn aside from following Jehovah, but serve Jehovah with all your heart.

²⁴ Only fear Jehovah, and serve Him in truth with all your heart. For consider what great things He has done for you.

³ who forgives all your iniquities; who heals all your diseases;

¹⁶ He shall dwell on high; his refuge shall be the strongholds of rocks; bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.

²⁴ And an inhabitant, the people who live in it shall not say, I am sick; iniquity is taken away.

² And they shall spread them before the sun, and the moon, and all the host of the heavens, whom they have loved and whom they have served, and after whom they have walked, and whom they have sought, and whom they have worshiped. They shall not be gathered nor buried; they shall be as dung on the face of the earth.

¹⁰ Bring all the tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house. And test Me now with this, says Jehovah of Hosts, to see if I will not open the windows of Heaven for you, and pour out a blessing for you, until there is not enough room.

¹⁰ Then Jesus said to him, Go, Satan! For it is written, "You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve."

⁸ And Abraham expired and died in a good old age, old and satisfied. And he was gathered to his people.

²⁹ And Isaac expired and died, and was gathered to his people, old and satisfied of days. And his sons, Esau and Jacob, buried him.

¹⁴ You shall be blessed above all people. There shall not be male or female barren among you or among your cattle.

⁴ The fruit of your body shall be blessed, and the fruit of your ground, and the fruit of your cattle, the increase of your cows, and the flocks of your sheep.

¹ And David was old and full of days, and he made his son Solomon king over Israel.

²⁶ You shall come to your grave in a full age, like a shock of grain comes in its season.

¹⁰ Their bull mates and does not fail; their cow calves, and does not cast her calf.

¹⁷ And Job died, being old and full of days.

²³ But You, O God, will bring them down into the pit of ruin; bloody and deceitful men shall not live half their days; but I will trust in You.

¹⁰ The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by strength they are fourscore years, yet their pride is labor and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

³⁸ He also blesses them, so that they are multiplied greatly; and does not allow their cattle to become few.

¹³ and our storehouses may be full, furnishing kind to kind; and our flocks may breed thousands and ten thousands outside;

²⁰ There will not be an infant, nor an old man that has not filled his days. For the child will die a hundred years old; but the sinner who is a hundred years old will be despised.

¹⁰ Bring all the tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house. And test Me now with this, says Jehovah of Hosts, to see if I will not open the windows of Heaven for you, and pour out a blessing for you, until there is not enough room. ¹¹ And I will rebuke your devourer, and he shall not decay the fruit of your ground against you; nor shall your vine miscarry against you in the field, says Jehovah of Hosts.

⁵ And they moved. And the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue the sons of Jacob.

¹⁴ The people shall hear, being afraid. Sorrow shall take hold on the people of Philistia. ¹⁵ Then the princes of Edom were terrified. Trembling seized upon the mighty men of Moab. All the people of Canaan shall melt away. ¹⁶ Fear and dread shall fall upon them. By the greatness of Your arm they shall be still as a stone, until Your people pass over, O Jehovah; until the people whom You have purchased pass over.

²⁵ Today, I will begin to put your dread and your fear upon the nations under the whole heavens; who shall hear report of you, and shall tremble and be in anguish because of you.

²³ And Jehovah your God shall deliver them to you, and shall destroy them with a mighty ruin until they are destroyed.

²³ then Jehovah will drive out all these nations from before you, and you shall possess greater and mightier nations than you.

²⁵ There shall no man stand before you, for Jehovah your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon the face of all the land that you shall tread upon, as He has said to you.

⁹ And she said to the men, I know that Jehovah has given you the land, and that your terror has fallen on us, and that all those who live in the land faint because of you. ¹⁰ For we have heard how Jehovah dried up the water of the Red Sea for you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed. ¹¹ And we had heard, and our hearts melted, nor did any more spirit remain in any man, because of you. For Jehovah your God, He is God in Heaven above and in earth beneath.

¹⁵ And there was trembling in the army, in the field, and among all the people. The garrison and the spoilers also trembled, and the earth quaked, and it was a very great trembling.

⁶ For Jehovah had made the army of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots and a noise of horses, the noise of a great army. And they said to one another, Lo, the king of Israel has hired the kings of the Hittites and the kings of the Egyptians against us, to come on us.

¹⁴ And they struck all the cities around Gerar, for the fear of Jehovah came on them. And they plundered all the cities, for there was very much plunder in them.

⁴⁰ You have also given me the neck of my enemies; so that I might destroy those who hate me.

²⁰ And Jehovah your God will send the hornet among them, until the ones who are left, and who hide themselves from you, are destroyed.

¹¹ And you went over Jordan and came to Jericho. And the men of Jericho fought against you, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Girgashites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites. And I delivered them into your hand. ¹² And I sent the hornet before you, which drove them out from before you, the two kings of the Amorites, not with your sword, nor with your bow.

²² And Jehovah your God will put out those nations before you by little and little. You may not destroy them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon you.

⁶³ As for the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the sons of Judah could not drive them out. But the Jebusites live with the sons of Judah at Jerusalem to this day.

¹⁰ And they did not drive out the Canaanites who lived in Gezer. But the Canaanites live among the Ephraimites until this day, and serve under tribute.

¹² Yet the sons of Manasseh were not able to occupy these cities, but the Canaanites wanted to live in that land. ¹³ And it happened when the sons of Israel had become strong, they put the Canaanites to tribute. But they did not completely drive them out.

¹ And these are the nations which Jehovah left, to prove Israel by them, as many as had not known all the wars of Canaan; ² only that the generations of the sons of Israel might know, to teach them war, at the least those who before knew nothing of it: ³ five lords of the Philistines, and all the Canaanites, and the Sidonians, and the Hivites that lived in Mount Lebanon, from Mount Baal-hermon to the border of Hamath. ⁴ And they were to prove Israel by them, to know whether they would listen to the commands of Jehovah, which He commanded their fathers by the hand of Moses.

³⁴ And Jehovah said to Moses, Do not fear him, for I have delivered him into your hand, and all his people and his land. And you shall do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites who lived at Heshbon.

³ And your south quarter shall be from the wilderness of Zin along by the border of Edom, and your south border shall be the furthest coast of the Salt Sea eastward. ⁴ And your border shall turn from the south to the ascent of Akrabbim and pass on to Zin. And its limit shall be from the south to Kadesh-barnea, and shall go on to Hazar-addar, and pass on to Azmon. ⁵ And the border shall turn from Azmon to the torrent of Egypt, and the end of it shall be at the sea. ⁶ And for the western border, you shall even have the Great Sea for a border. This shall be your west border. ⁷ And this shall be your northern border. From the Great Sea you shall point out for you Mount Hor. ⁸ From Mount Hor you shall point your border to the entrance of Hamath. And the end of the border shall be at Zedad. ⁹ And the border shall go on to Ziphron, and the end of it shall be at Hazar-enan. This shall be your north border. ¹⁰ And you shall point out your east border from Hazar-enan to Shepham. ¹¹ And the coast shall go down from Shepham to Riblah, on the east side of Ain. And the border shall go down, and shall reach to the side of the Sea of Chinnereth eastward. ¹² And the border shall go down to Jordan, and the end of it shall be at the Salt Sea. This shall be your land with the borders of it all around. ¹³ And Moses commanded the sons of Israel saying, This is the land which you shall inherit by lot, which Jehovah commanded to give to the nine tribes and to the half tribe. ¹⁴ For the tribe of the sons of Reuben according to the house of their fathers, and the tribe of the sons of Gad according to the house of their fathers. And half the tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance. ¹⁵ The two tribes and the half tribe have received their inheritance on this side Jordan at Jericho eastward, toward the sunrise.

² And Jehovah said to me, Do not fear him, for I will deliver him and all his people, and his land, into your hand. And you shall do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon.

²⁴ Every place on which the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours, from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even to the furthest sea shall your border be.

⁴ From the wilderness and this Lebanon even to the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your border.

⁷ Then you shall rise up from the ambush, and seize on the city; for Jehovah your God will deliver it into your hand.

¹⁸ And Jehovah said to Joshua, Stretch out the spear in your hand toward Ai, for I will give it into your hand. And Joshua stretched out the spear in his hand toward the city.

⁸ And Jehovah said to Joshua, Do not fear them, for I have delivered them into your hands. There shall not a man of them stand before you.

¹⁹ And do not stay. Pursue your enemies and strike the ones who are behind. Do not allow them to enter into their cities. For Jehovah your God has delivered them into your hand.

⁴⁴ And Jehovah gave them rest round about, according to all that He swore to their fathers. And not a man of all their enemies stood before them. Jehovah delivered all their enemies into their hand.

¹⁴ And behold, today I am going the way of all the earth. And you know in all your heart and in all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good things which Jehovah your God spoke concerning you. All have come to pass to you. Not one thing of it has failed.

⁸ And I brought you into the land of the Amorites who lived on the other side Jordan. And they fought with you, and I gave them into your hand so that you might possess their land. And I destroyed them from before you.

¹² And I sent the hornet before you, which drove them out from before you, the two kings of the Amorites, not with your sword, nor with your bow.

¹⁸ And Jehovah drove out from before us all the people, even the Amorites who lived in the land. We will also serve Jehovah, for He is our God.

⁴ And Judah went up. And Jehovah delivered the Canaanites and the Perizzites into their hand. And they killed ten thousand men of them in Bezek.

²¹ And Jehovah, the God of Israel delivered Sihon and all his people into the hand of Israel, and they struck them. So Israel possessed all the land of the Amorites, who lived in that country.

⁴ And David inquired of Jehovah once again. And Jehovah answered him and said, Arise, go down to Keilah. For I will deliver the Philistines into your hand.

²¹ And Solomon reigned over all kingdoms from the River to the land of the Philistines, and to the border of Egypt. They brought presents and served Solomon all the days of his life.

²⁴ For he had the rule over all on this side of the River, from Tiphsah even to Azzah, over all the kings on this side the River. And he had peace on all sides all around him.

¹³ And behold, a prophet came near to Ahab king of Israel, saying, So says Jehovah, Have you seen all this great multitude? Behold, I will deliver it into your hand today, and you shall know that I am Jehovah.

⁸ He shall also have the rule from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth.

¹² Take heed to yourself, lest you make a covenant with the people of the land where you go, lest it be for a snare in the midst of you.

¹⁵ lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice to their gods, and call you, and you eat of his sacrifice;

¹ And Israel lived in Shittim, and the people began to fornicate with the daughters of Moab. ² And they called the people to the sacrifices of their gods. And the people ate and bowed down to their gods.

² and Jehovah your God shall deliver them before you, you shall crush them, completely destroy them. You shall make no covenant with them nor show mercy to them.

¹⁶ And you shall destroy all the people which Jehovah your God shall deliver you. Your eye shall have no pity upon them, neither shall you serve their gods, for they will be a snare to you.

¹⁴ And they received the men because of their provisions, and did not ask at the mouth of Jehovah. ¹⁵ And Joshua made peace with them, and made a treaty with them, to let them live. And the rulers of the congregation swore to them. ¹⁶ And it happened at the end of three days after they had made a treaty with them, they heard that they were their neighbors and that they lived among them. ¹⁷ And the sons of Israel journeyed and came to their cities on the third day. Now their cities were Gibeon, and Chephirah, and Beeroth, and Kirjath-jearim. ¹⁸ And the sons of Israel did not strike them, because the rulers of the congregation had sworn to them by Jehovah, the God of Israel. And all the congregation murmured against the rulers. ¹⁹ But all the rulers said to the congregation, We have sworn to them by Jehovah, the God of Israel. Now, therefore, we may not touch them. ²⁰ This we will do to them. We will even let them live, lest wrath be on us because of the oath which we swore to them. ²¹ And the rulers said to them, Let them live, but let them be woodcutters and drawers of water to all the congregation, as the rulers had promised them. ²² And Joshua called for them, and he spoke to them, saying, Why have you fooled us saying, We are very far from you, when you dwell among us? ²³ And now you are cursed, and there shall none of you be freed from being slaves and woodcutters and drawers of water for the house of my God.

¹ And there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year. And David inquired of Jehovah. And Jehovah answered, For Saul, and for his bloody house, because he killed the Gibeonites. ² And the king called the Gibeonites and spoke to them. And the Gibeonites were not of the sons of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites. And the sons of Israel had sworn to them. And Saul sought to kill them in his zeal to the sons of Israel and Judah.

³⁵ but were mixed among the nations, and learned their works.

¹⁵ And what agreement does Christ have with Belial? Or what part does a believer have with an unbeliever?

² and Jehovah your God shall deliver them before you, you shall crush them, completely destroy them. You shall make no covenant with them nor show mercy to them. ³ Nor shall you make marriages with them. You shall not give your daughter to his son, nor shall you take his daughter to your son.

³⁰ take heed to yourself that you do not become snared by following them, after they are destroyed from before you, and that you do not ask about their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods, that I too may do likewise?

¹³ know for a certainty that Jehovah your God will no more drive out these nations from before you. But they shall be snares and traps to you, and whips in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from off this good land which Jehovah your God has given you.

³ And I also said, I will not drive them out from before you, but they shall be thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare to you.

²¹ And Saul said, I will give her to him, so that she may be a trap to him, and so that the hand of the Philistines may be against him. And Saul said to David a second time, Today you shall be my son-in-law.

¹⁶ And he shall give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, who sinned, and that he made Israel to sin.

³⁶ And they served their idols, which were a snare to them.

²⁶ and that they awake out of the snare of the Devil, having been taken captive by him, so as to do the will of that one.
