³ And Moses came and told the people all the Words of Jehovah, and all the judgments. And all the people answered with one voice and said, All the words which Jehovah has said, we will do.

⁸ And all the people answered together and said, All that Jehovah has spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people to Jehovah.

¹ And these are the judgments which you shall set before them. ² If you buy a Hebrew servant, he shall serve six years. And in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing. ³ If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself. If he was married, then his wife shall go out with him. ⁴ If his master has given him a wife, and she has borne him sons or daughters, the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself. ⁵ And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my sons. I do not want to go out free ⁶ his master shall bring him to the judges. He shall also bring him to the door or to the door-post. And his master shall bore his ear through with an awl, and he shall serve him forever. ⁷ And if a man sells his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do. ⁸ If she does not please her master, who has betrothed her to himself, then he shall let her be redeemed. He shall have no power to sell her to a strange nation, since he has dealt deceitfully with her. ⁹ And if he has betrothed her to his son, he shall deal with her as with daughters. ¹⁰ If he takes himself another wife, her food, her clothing, and her duty of marriage shall not be lessened. ¹¹ And if he does not do these three to her, then she shall go out free without money. ¹² He that strikes a man, so that he dies, shall be surely put to death. ¹³ And if a man does not lie in wait, but God delivers him into his hand, then I will appoint you a place where he shall flee. ¹⁴ But if a man comes presumptuously upon his neighbor to slay him with guile, you shall take him from My altar, so that he may die. ¹⁵ And he that strikes his father or his mother shall surely be put to death. ¹⁶ And he that steals a man and sells him, or if he is found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death. ¹⁷ And he that curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death. ¹⁸ And if men strive together, and one strikes another with a stone, or with his fist, and he does not die, but keeps his bed; ¹⁹ if he rises again and walks abroad upon his staff, then he that struck him shall be set free. Only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall cause him to be completely healed. ²⁰ And if a man strikes his servant, or his maidservant, with a rod, and he dies under his hand, he shall surely be punished. ²¹ But if he continues a day or two, he shall not be punished. For he is his money. ²² If men strive and strike a pregnant woman, so that her child comes out, and there is no injury, he shall surely be punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him. And he shall pay as the judges say ²³ And if any injury occurs, then you shall give life for life,

⁷ And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the ears of the people. And they said, All that Jehovah has said we will do, and be obedient.

¹ And now, Israel, listen to the statutes and to the judgments which I teach you, in order to do them, so that you may live and go in and possess the land which Jehovah, the God of your fathers gives you.

⁵ Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as Jehovah my God commanded me, so that you should do so in the land where you go to possess it.

⁴⁵ These are the testimonies and the statutes and the judgments which Moses spoke to the sons of Israel after they came forth out of Egypt,

¹ And Moses called all Israel and said to them, Hear, O Israel, the statutes and judgments which I speak in your ears this day, so that you may learn them and keep and do them.

²⁷ You go near and hear all that Jehovah our God shall say. And you speak to us all that Jehovah our God shall speak to you, and we will hear and act. ²⁸ And Jehovah heard the voice of your words when you spoke to me. And Jehovah said to me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken to you. They have well said all that they have spoken.

³¹ But as for you, you stand here by Me, and I will speak to you all the commandments and the statutes and the judgments which you shall teach them, that they may do them in the land which I am giving them, to possess it.

¹ And these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which Jehovah our God commanded to teach you so that you might do them in the land where you go, to possess it,

¹ Therefore you shall love Jehovah your God, and keep His charge and His statutes and His judgments and His commandments always.

²² And Joshua said to the people, You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen Jehovah, to serve Him. And they said, We are witnesses.

¹⁹ Why then the Law? It was added because of transgressions, until the Seed should come to those to whom it had been promised, being ordained through angels in the Mediator's hand. ²⁰ But the Mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.
