⁷ The steps of his strength shall be hampered, and his own plans shall throw him down.

³¹ And one told David, saying, Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom. And David said, O Jehovah, I pray You, turn the advice of Ahithophel to foolishness.

¹⁴ And Absalom and all the men of Israel said, The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel. For Jehovah had appointed to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that Jehovah might bring evil on Absalom.

¹² frustrating the plans of the crafty, nor did their hands do wisely. ¹³ He takes the wise in their own craftiness; and the counsel of the wily is carried headlong.

⁶ Your own mouth condemns you, and not I; yes, your own lips testify against you.

²² In the fullness of his plenty he shall be in trouble; every wretched one shall come on him.

¹⁶ And He also would have lured you from the mouth of distress to a wide place not cramped; and the setting of your table would be full of fatness.

³⁶ You have given a wide place for my steps under me, so that my feet have not slipped.

¹⁰ Jehovah brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He breaks the plots of the people.

³⁰ They would have none of my counsel; they despised all my correction, ³¹ and they shall eat the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own desires. ³² For the turning away of the simple kills them, and the ease of fools destroys them.

¹² When you go, your steps shall not be narrowed, and when you run, you shall not stumble.

⁶ It shall also be carried to Assyria for a present to King Jareb. Ephraim shall receive shame, and Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel.
