⁶ A scorner seeks wisdom, and it is not found, but knowledge is easy to him who understands.

¹⁸ Open my eyes, so that I may behold wonderful things out of Your Law.

⁹⁸ Through Your Commandments You make me wiser than my enemies, for they are ever with me. ⁹⁹ I have more understanding than all my teachers; for Your testimonies are my prayer. ¹⁰⁰ I understand more than the old men, because I keep Your Commandments.

⁹ They are all plain to him who understands, and right to those who find knowledge.

²⁴ Wisdom is before him who has understanding, but the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth.

² A fool has no delight in understanding, but only that his heart may lay itself bare.

¹² Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.

²⁰ To the Law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this Word, it is because no light is in them.

⁹ The wise are ashamed, they are terrified, and are captured. Lo, they have turned away from the Word of Jehovah; and what wisdom is in them?

²² The light of the body is the eye. Therefore if your eye is sound, your whole body shall be full of light. ²³ But if your eye is evil, your whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

²⁵ At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank You, O Father, Lord of Heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the sophisticated and cunning, and revealed them to babes. ²⁶ Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight. ²⁷ All things are delivered to Me by My Father. And no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son will reveal Him.

¹¹ He answered and said to them, Because it is given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of Heaven, but it is not given to them. ¹² For whoever has, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance. But whoever does not have, from him shall be taken away even that which he has.

²¹ Because, knowing God, they did not glorify Him as God, neither were thankful. But they became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. ²² Professing to be wise, they became fools ²³ and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man, and birds, and four-footed animals, and creeping things. ²⁴ Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves. ²⁵ For they changed the truth of God into a lie, and they worshiped and served the created thing more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. ²⁶ For this cause, God gave them up to dishonorable affections. For even their women changed the natural use into that which is against nature. ²⁷ And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another; males with males working out shamefulness, and receiving in themselves the recompense which was fitting for their error. ²⁸ And even as they did not think fit to have God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do the things not right,

³¹ But Israel, who followed after a law of righteousness did not arrive at a law of righteousness. ³² Why? Because it was not of faith, but as it were by the works of the Law. For they stumbled at that Stumbling-stone;

¹⁸ Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this world, let him become a fool so that he may be wise. ¹⁹ For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God; for it is written, "He takes the wise in their own craftiness."

² And if any man thinks that he knows anything, he knows nothing yet as he ought to know.

⁵ But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and with no reproach, and it shall be given to him.

³ First, knowing this, that there will come in the last days scoffers walking according to their own lusts ⁴ and saying, Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation. ⁵ For this is hidden from them by their willing it, that the heavens were of old, and the earth out of the water, and through water, being held together by the Word of God,
