¹ And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of Jehovah, she came to prove him with hard questions.

⁷ And the sons of Cush were : Seba and Havilah and Sabtah and Raamah and Sabteca. And the sons of Raamah were : Sheba and Dedan.

²⁸ and Obal and Abimael and Sheba

³ And Jokshan fathered Sheba and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim and Letushim and Leummim.

¹² And Samson said to them, Let me now put forth a riddle to you*. If you* can declare it to me within the seven days of the feast and find it out, then I will give you* thirty linen garments and thirty changes of garments, ¹³ but if you* cannot declare it to me, then you* will give me thirty linen garments and thirty changes of garments.
And they said to him, Put forth your riddle, that we may hear it. ¹⁴ And he said to them, Out of the eater came out food and out of the strong came out sweetness. And they could not in three days declare the riddle.

³¹ For he was wiser than all men: than Ethan the Ezrahite and Heman and Calcol and Darda, the sons of Mahol. And his fame was in all the nations all around.

³⁴ And there came of all peoples to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth who had heard of his wisdom.

¹ And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to test Solomon with hard questions at Jerusalem, with a very great caravan and camels that bore spices and gold in abundance and precious stones. And when she came to Solomon, she spoke with him of all that was in her heart. ² And Solomon answered to her all her questions. And there was not anything hid from Solomon that he did not answer her.
³ And when the queen of Sheba had seen the wisdom of Solomon and the house that he had built, ⁴ and the food of his table and the seating of his servants and the attendance of his ministers and their apparel, also his cupbearers and their apparel and his ascent by which he went up to the house of Jehovah, there was no more spirit in her.
⁵ And she said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in my own land of your acts and of your wisdom. ⁶ However I did not believe their words until I came and my eyes had seen it. And behold, the half of the greatness of your wisdom was not told me. You exceed the fame that I heard.
⁷ Your men are fortunate and these, your servants, are fortunate who stand continually before you and hear your wisdom.
⁸ Praise Jehovah your God, who delighted in you, to set you on his throne to be king for Jehovah your God. Because your God loved Israel, to establish them everlasting, therefore he made you king over them, to do justice and righteousness.
⁹ And she gave the king a hundred and twenty talants of gold and spices in great abundance and precious stones. Neither was there any such spice as the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon. ¹⁰ And also the servants of Huram and the servants of Solomon, who brought gold from Ophir, brought algum trees and precious stones. ¹¹ And the king made of the algum trees terraces for the house of Jehovah and for the king's house and harps and psalteries for the singers. And there were none such seen before in the land of Judah.
¹² And king Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatever she asked, besides what she had brought to the king. So she turned and went to her own land, she and her servants.

¹⁹ The caravans of Tema looked, the traveling of Sheba waited for them.

²⁸ And to man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom and to depart from evil is understanding.

⁴ I will incline my ear to a proverb. I will open my dark saying upon the harp.

¹⁰ The kings of Tarshish and of the isles will render tribute. The kings of Sheba and Seba will offer gifts.

¹⁵ and they will live. And to him will be given of the gold of Sheba. And men will pray for him continually. They will praise him all the day long.

⁵ that the wise man may hear and increase in learning and that the man of understanding may attain to sound-wisdom, ⁶ to understand a proverb and a figure, the words of the wise and their dark sayings.

³ because, if you cry after discernment and lift up your voice for understanding, ⁴ if you seek her as silver and search for her as for hidden treasures, ⁵ then you will understand the fear of Jehovah and find the knowledge of God.
⁶ Because Jehovah gives wisdom. Out of his mouth is knowledge and understanding.

⁶ The multitude of camels will cover you. The dromedaries of Midian and Ephah, all those from Sheba will come. They will bring gold and frankincense and will proclaim the praises of Jehovah.

²⁰ To what purpose does there come to me frankincense from Sheba and the sweet cane from a far country? Your* burnt offerings are not acceptable, nor your* sacrifices pleasing to me.

²² The merchants of Sheba and Raamah, they were your merchants. They traded for your wares with the chief of all spices and with all precious stones and gold.
²³ Haran and Canneh and Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Asshur and Chilmad, were your merchants.

¹³ Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions of it, will say to you, Have you come to take the spoil? Have you assembled your company to take the prey, to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take great spoil?

⁴² The queen of the south will be arisen with this generation in the judgment and will be condemning it, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, more-than Solomon is here.

¹¹ But he answered and said to them, It has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of the heavens, but it has not given to those men.

³⁵ that what was spoken through the prophet might be fulfilled, saying, ‘I will open my mouth in parables. I will be uttering things which have been hidden from the conception of the world.’

³⁴ But he was not speaking to them without a parable, but privately he was interpreting all things for his disciples.

³¹ The queen of the south will be arisen up with the men of this generation in the judgment, and will be condemning them, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, more-than Solomon is here.

³ But this is everlasting life, in order that they should know you, the only true God, and Jesus the Christ, whom you sent.

²⁰ Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has God not made the wisdom of the world foolish? ²¹ For since, in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know God, it delighted God through the foolishness of the preaching to save those who believe.
