¹ And David again gathered together all the chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand. ² And David arose and went with all the people who were with him, from Baale-judah, to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the Name, even the name of Jehovah of hosts who sits above the cherubim.
³ And they set the ark of God upon a new cart and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was on the hill. And Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the new cart. ⁴ And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill, with the ark of God and Ahio went before the ark.
⁵ And David and all the house of Israel played before Jehovah with all manner of instruments of fir-wood and with harps and with psalteries and with timbrels and with castanets and with cymbals.
⁶ And when they came to the threshing-floor of Nacon, Uzzah put forth to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen stumbled. ⁷ And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Uzzah and God killed* him there for his error and he died there by the ark of God.
⁸ And David was displeased, because Jehovah had broken forth upon Uzzah. And he called that place Perez-uzzah, to this day. ⁹ And David was afraid of Jehovah that day and he said, How will the ark of Jehovah come to me?
¹⁰ So David would not remove the ark of Jehovah to him into the city of David, but David carried it aside into the house of Obed-edom the Gittite. ¹¹ And the ark of Jehovah remained in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite three months and Jehovah blessed Obed-edom and all his house.
¹² And it was told king David, saying, Jehovah has blessed the house of Obed-edom and all that pertains to him, because of the ark of God. And David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-edom into the city of David with joy. ¹³ And it was so, that, when those who bore the ark of Jehovah had gone six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a fatten sheep.
¹⁴ And David danced before Jehovah with all his might. And David was girded with a linen ephod. ¹⁵ So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of Jehovah with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet.
¹⁶ And it was so, as the ark of Jehovah came into the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looked out at the window and saw king David leaping and dancing before Jehovah and she despised him in her heart.
¹⁷ And they brought in the ark of Jehovah and set it in its place, in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it. And David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before Jehovah. ¹⁸ And when David had made an end of offering the burnt offering and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of Jehovah of hosts.
¹⁹ And he dealt among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, both to men and women, to every one a cake of bread and a portion of flesh and a cake of raisins. So all the people departed every one to his house.
²⁰ Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David and said, How glorious was the King of Israel today, who uncovered himself today in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!
²¹ And David said to Michal, It was before Jehovah, who chose me above your father and above all his house, to appoint me prince over the people of Jehovah, over Israel. Therefore I will play before Jehovah. ²² And I will be yet more vile than this and will be humble in my own sight, but of the handmaids of whom you have spoken, of them I will be had in honor.
²³ And Michal the daughter of Saul had no child to the day of her death.

¹ Then all the tribes of Israel came to David to Hebron and spoke, saying, Behold, we are your bone and your flesh.

¹ Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the princes of the fathers of the sons of Israel, to king Solomon in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of Jehovah out of the city of David, which is Zion.

¹ And David consulted with the captains of thousands and of hundreds, even with every leader. ² And David said to all the assembly of Israel, If it seems good to you* and if it is of Jehovah our God, let us send abroad everywhere to our brothers who are left in all the land of Israel, with whom the priests and Levites are in their cities that have suburbs, that they may gather themselves to us. ³ And let us bring again the ark of our God to us, for we did not inquire from it in the days of Saul. ⁴ And all the assembly said that they would do so, for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.

⁶ And David went up and all Israel, to Baalah, that is to Kiriath-jearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up from there the ark of God, Jehovah who sits above the cherubim that is called by the Name. ⁷ And they carried the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab. And Uzza and Ahio drove the cart.
⁸ And David and all Israel played before God with all their might, even with songs and with harps and with psalteries and with timbrels and with cymbals and with trumpets.
⁹ And when they came to the threshing-floor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark, for the oxen stumbled. ¹⁰ And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Uzza and he killed* him because he put forth his hand to the ark. And there he died before God.
¹¹ And David was displeased, because Jehovah had broken forth upon Uzza. And he called that place Perez-uzza, to this day. ¹² And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God home to me? ¹³ So David did not move the ark to him into the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obed-edom the Gittite. ¹⁴ And the ark of God remained with the family of Obed-edom in his house three months. And Jehovah blessed the house of Obed-edom and all that he had.

¹ Jehovah, remember for David all his affliction, ² how he swore to Jehovah and vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob: ³ Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed, ⁴ I will not give sleep to my eyes, or slumber to my eyelids, ⁵ until I find out a place for Jehovah, a tabernacle for the Mighty One of Jacob.
⁶ Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah. We found it in the field of the wood.

¹⁸ And you will make two cherubim of gold; of beaten work will you make them, at the two ends of the mercy-seat. ¹⁹ And make one cherub at the one end and one cherub at the other end; of one piece with the mercy-seat you* will make the cherubim on the two ends of it. ²⁰ And the cherubim will spread out their wings on high, covering the mercy-seat with their wings, with their faces one to another; the faces of the cherubim will be toward the mercy-seat.
²¹ And you will put the mercy-seat above upon the ark. And in the ark you will put the testimony that I will give you. ²² And there I will meet with you. And I will speak with you from above the mercy-seat, from between the two cherubim which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give you in commandment to the sons of Israel.

¹¹ and the son of the Israelite woman blasphemed the Name and cursed. And they brought him to Moses. And his mother's name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan. ¹² And they put him in confinement, that it might be declared to them at the mouth of Jehovah. ¹³ And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, ¹⁴ Bring forth he who has cursed outside the camp and let all who heard him lay their hands upon his head and let all the congregation stone him.
¹⁵ And you will speak to the sons of Israel, saying, Whoever curses his God will bear his sin. ¹⁶ And he who blasphemes the name of Jehovah, he will surely be put to death. All the congregation will certainly stone him. As well the traveler, as the home-born, when he blasphemes the Name, will be put to death.

⁹ and the border extended from the top of the mountain to the fountain of the waters of Nephtoah and went out to the cities of Mount Ephron and the border extended to Baalah (what is Kiriath-jearim), ¹⁰ and the border turned about from Baalah westward to Mount Seir and passed along to the side of Mount Jearim on the north (what is Chesalon) and went down to Beth-shemesh and passed along by Timnah,

⁶⁰ Kiriath-baal (what is Kiriath-jearim) and Rabbah; two cities with their villages.

⁴ So the people sent to Shiloh and they brought from there the ark of the covenant of Jehovah of hosts, who sits above the cherubim. And the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.

¹ And the men of Kiriath-jearim came and fetched up the ark of Jehovah and brought it into the house of Abinadab in the hill and made Eleazar his son holy to keep the ark of Jehovah.

⁶ And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of Jehovah to its place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubim. ⁷ For the cherubim spread forth their wings over the place of the ark and the cherubim covered the ark and the staves of it above.

⁵ So David assembled all Israel together, from the Shihor the brook of Egypt even to the entrance of Hamath, to bring the ark of God from Kiriath-jearim. ⁶ And David went up and all Israel, to Baalah, that is to Kiriath-jearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up from there the ark of God, Jehovah who sits above the cherubim that is called by the Name.

¹ Listen, O Shepherd of Israel, you who lead Joseph like a flock. You who sit above the cherubim, shine forth.

⁴ Our Redeemer, Jehovah of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Israel.

⁵ For your maker is your husband. Jehovah of hosts is his name. And the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer. He will be called the God of the whole earth.

¹² To whom it was revealed, that they were serving these things not to themselves, but to you; which things now have been reported to you through those who proclaimed the good-news to you in the Holy Spirit, when he was sent forth from heaven; into which things messengers desire to peer into.

⁵ When the camp sets forward, Aaron will go in and his sons and they will take down the veil of the screen and cover the ark of the testimony with it. ⁶ And will put on it a covering of certain skin and will spread over it a cloth all of blue and will put in the staves of it.
⁷ And upon the table of showbread they will spread a cloth of blue and put on it the dishes and the spoons and the bowls and the cups with which to pour out. And the continual bread will be on it. ⁸ And they will spread upon them a cloth of scarlet and cover the same with a covering of certain skin and will put in the staves of it.
⁹ And they will take a cloth of blue and cover the lamp-stand of the light and its lamps and its snuffers and its snuff dishes and all the oil vessels of it, with which they minister to it. ¹⁰ And they will put it and all the vessels of it within a covering of certain skin and will put it upon the frame.
¹¹ And upon the golden altar they will spread a cloth of blue and cover it with a covering of certain skin and will put in the staves of it.
¹² And they will take all the vessels of ministry, with which they minister in the sanctuary and put them in a cloth of blue and cover them with a covering of certain skin and will put them on the frame.

⁴ And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, ⁵ Take it from them, that they may be used in doing the service of the tent of meeting. And you will give them to the Levites, to every man according to his service. ⁶ And Moses took the wagons and the oxen and gave them to the Levites. ⁷ Two wagons and four oxen he gave to the sons of Gershon, according to their service. ⁸ And he gave four wagons and eight oxen to the sons of Merari, according to their service, under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest. ⁹ But he gave none to the sons of Kohath, because the service of the sanctuary belonged to them. They bore it upon their shoulders.

⁷ Now therefore take and prepare for you* a new cart and two milk cows on which there has come no yoke. And tie the cows to the cart and bring their calves home from them.

¹ And the men of Kiriath-jearim came and fetched up the ark of Jehovah and brought it into the house of Abinadab in the hill and made Eleazar his son holy to keep the ark of Jehovah. ² And it happened, from the day that the ark abode in Kiriath-jearim, that the time was long, for it was twenty years and all the house of Israel lamented after Jehovah.

⁷ And they carried the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab. And Uzza and Ahio drove the cart.

⁵ After that you will come to the hill of God where is the garrison of the Philistines. And it will happen, when you have come there to the city, that you will meet a band of prophets coming down from the high place with a psaltery and a timbrel and a pipe and a harp, before them and they will be prophesying.

¹⁶ Let our lord now command your servants, who are before you, to seek out a man who is a skillful player on the harp. And it will happen, when the evil spirit from God is upon you, that he will play with his hand and you will be well.

⁶ And it happened as they came, when David returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, that the women came out of all the cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet king Saul, with timbrels, with joy and with instruments of music. ⁷ And the women sang one to another as they played and said, Saul has slain his thousands and David his ten thousands.

¹⁵ But now bring me a minstrel. And it happened, when the minstrel played, that the hand of Jehovah came upon him.

⁸ And David and all Israel played before God with all their might, even with songs and with harps and with psalteries and with timbrels and with cymbals and with trumpets.

¹⁰ of the sons of Uzziel, Amminadab the chief and his brothers a hundred and twelve.
¹¹ And David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah and Joel, Shemaiah and Eliel and Amminadab. ¹² And said to them, You* are the heads of the fathers of the Levites. Sanctify yourselves, both you* and your* brothers, that you* may bring up the ark of Jehovah, the God of Israel, to the place that I have prepared for it. ¹³ For because you* did not at the first, Jehovah our God made a breach upon us, because we did not seek him according to the ordinance.
¹⁴ So the priests and the Levites made themselves holy to bring up the ark of Jehovah, the God of Israel. ¹⁵ And the sons of the Levites bore the ark of God upon their shoulders with the staves on it, as Moses commanded according to the word of Jehovah.
¹⁶ And David spoke to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brothers the singers, with instruments of music, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding-aloud and lifting up the voice with joy. ¹⁷ So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel. And of his brothers, Asaph the son of Berechiah. And of the sons of Merari their brothers, Ethan the son of Kushaiah. ¹⁸ And with them their brothers of the second rank, Zechariah, Ben and Jaaziel and Shemiramoth and Jehiel and Unni, Eliab and Benaiah and Maaseiah and Mattithiah and Eliphelehu and Mikneiah and Obed-edom and Jeiel, the gatekeepers.
¹⁹ So the singers, Heman, Asaph and Ethan, were appointed with cymbals of brass to sound-aloud. ²⁰ And Zechariah and Aziel and Shemiramoth and Jehiel and Unni and Eliab and Maaseiah and Benaiah, with psalteries set to Alamoth. ²¹ And Mattithiah and Eliphelehu and Mikneiah and Obed-edom and Jeiel and Azaziah, with harps set to the Sheminith, to lead. ²² And Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was over the song. He instructed about the song because he was skillful.
²³ And Berechiah and Elkanah were gatekeepers for the ark. ²⁴ And Shebaniah and Joshaphat and Nethanel and Amasai and Zechariah and Benaiah and Eliezer, the priests, blew the trumpets before the ark of God. And Obed-edom and Jehiah were gatekeepers for the ark.

⁵ God has gone up with a shout, Jehovah with the sound of a trumpet.

²⁵ The singers went before, the minstrels followed after, in the midst of the maidens playing with timbrels. ²⁶ Praise God in the congregations, the lord of the fountain of Israel.
²⁷ There is little Benjamin their ruler, the rulers of Judah and their council, the rulers of Zebulun, the rulers of Naphtali.

³ Praise him with horn and trumpet-blast. Praise him with psaltery and harp. ⁴ Praise him with timbrel and dance. Praise him with stringed instruments and pipe. ⁵ Praise him with loud cymbals. Praise him with alarming like cymbals.

⁵ that at what time you* hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, trigon, psaltery, dulcimer and all kinds of music, you* fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king has set up.

⁷ Therefore at that time, when all the peoples heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, trigon, psaltery and all kinds of music, all the peoples, the nations and the languages, fell down and worshiped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

¹⁰ You, O king, have made a decree, that every man who will hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, trigon, psaltery and dulcimer and all kinds of music, will fall down and worship the golden image.

¹⁵ Now if you* are ready that at what time you* hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, trigon, psaltery and dulcimer and all kinds of music, you* fall down and worship the image which I have made, well. But if you* do not worship, you* will be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. And who is that god who will deliver you* out of my hands?

²³ You take away from me the noise of your songs, for I will not hear the melody of your viols.

⁵ who scatter-words to the mouth of the harp, who invent for themselves instruments of music, like David,

¹⁵ And when Aaron and his sons have made an end of covering the sanctuary and all the furniture of the sanctuary, as the camp is set forward, after that, the sons of Kohath will come to bear it, but they will not touch the sanctuary, lest they die. These things are the burden of the sons of Kohath in the tent of meeting.

¹⁹ but thus do to them, that they may live and not die, when they approach to the most holy things. Aaron and his sons will go in and appoint for them each one to his service and to his burden, ²⁰ but they will not go in to see the sanctuary even for a moment, lest they die.

⁹ And when they came to the threshing-floor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark, for the oxen stumbled.

¹ And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each of them took his censer and put fire in it and laid incense on it and offered strange fire before Jehovah, which he had not commanded them. ² And there came out fire from before Jehovah and devoured them and they died before Jehovah.
³ Then Moses said to Aaron, This is it that Jehovah spoke, saying, I will be made holy by those who come near me. And I will be glorified before all the people. And Aaron remained silent.

¹⁹ And he killed* of the men of Beth-shemesh, because they had looked into the ark of Jehovah. He killed* of the people fifty thousand and seventy men. And the people mourned, because Jehovah had struck the people with a great slaughter.

¹⁰ And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Uzza and he killed* him because he put forth his hand to the ark. And there he died before God.

² Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites, for Jehovah has chosen them to carry the ark of God and to minister to him until everlasting.

¹³ For because you* did not at the first, Jehovah our God made a breach upon us, because we did not seek him according to the ordinance.

³⁰ Because of this, many among you are weak and sick and a considerable number fall-asleep. ³¹ For if we were discerning ourselves, we would not be judged. ³² But being judged, we are disciplined by the Lord, in order that we should not be condemned together with the world.

¹¹ And David was displeased, because Jehovah had broken forth upon Uzza. And he called that place Perez-uzza, to this day. ¹² And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God home to me?

¹ But it displeased Jonah exceedingly and he was angry.

⁹ And God said to Jonah, Do you well to be angry for the gourd? And he said, I do well to be angry, even to death.

¹² And the sons of Israel spoke to Moses, saying, Behold, we perish, we are undone, we are all undone. ¹³ Every man who comes near, who comes near to the tabernacle of Jehovah, dies. Shall we all of us perish?

¹⁰ So they sent the ark of God to Ekron. And it happened, as the ark of God came to Ekron, that the Ekronites cried out, saying, They have brought about the ark of the God of Israel to us, to kill us and our people.
¹¹ They sent therefore and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines and they said, Send away the ark of the God of Israel and let it go again to its own place, that it not kill us and our people. For there was a deadly confusion throughout all the city; the hand of God was very heavy there.

²⁰ And the men of Beth-shemesh said, Who is able to stand before Jehovah, this holy God? And to whom will he go up from us?

²⁷ But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain you. How much less this house that I have built!

⁵ Behold, even the moon has no brightness. And the stars are not pure in his sight. ⁶ How much less man, who is a worm! And the son of man, who is a worm!

¹²⁰ My flesh trembles for fear of you and I am afraid of your judgments.

⁵ Then I said, Woe is me! For I am undone, because I am a man of unclean lips and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips. For my eyes have seen the King, Jehovah of hosts.

⁸ But Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell down before Jesus’knees, saying, Go away from me, because I am a man, a sinner, O Lord. ⁹ For amazement engulfed him and all those together with him, at the catch of the fish in which they took in;

⁶ as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord; whose children you became, doing good and not fearing any terror.

³ And the Beerothites fled to Gittaim and have been travelers there until this day.

¹⁹ Then the king said to Ittai the Gittite, Why do you also go with us? Return and abide with the king, for you are a foreigner and also an exile. Return to your own place.

² And David sent forth the people, a third part under the hand of Joab and a third part under the hand of Abishai the son of Zeruiah, Joab's brother and a third part under the hand of Ittai the Gittite. And the king said to the people, I will surely go forth with you* myself also.

¹⁸ And with them their brothers of the second rank, Zechariah, Ben and Jaaziel and Shemiramoth and Jehiel and Unni, Eliab and Benaiah and Maaseiah and Mattithiah and Eliphelehu and Mikneiah and Obed-edom and Jeiel, the gatekeepers.

⁵ Asaph the chief and second to him Zechariah, Jeiel and Shemiramoth and Jehiel and Mattithiah and Eliab and Benaiah and Obed-edom and Jeiel, with psalteries and with harps and Asaph with cymbals, sounding-aloud,

⁴ And Obed-edom had sons: Shemaiah the firstborn, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third and Sacar the fourth and Nethanel the fifth, ⁵ Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Peullethai the eighth, for God blessed him. ⁶ Also sons were born to Shemaiah his son, who ruled over the house of their father, for they were mighty men of valor. ⁷ The sons of Shemaiah: Othni and Rephael and Obed, Elzabad, whose brothers were valiant men, Elihu and Semachiah. ⁸ All these were of the sons of Obed-edom, they and their sons and their brothers, able men in strength for the service, sixty-two of Obed-edom.

²⁷ And Laban said to him, If now I have found favor in your eyes, stay here, because I have learned by experience that Jehovah has blessed me for your sake.

⁵ And it happened from the time that he made him overseer in his house and over all that he had, that Jehovah blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake. And the blessing of Jehovah was upon all that he had, in the house and in the field.

²³ The keeper of the prison did not look to anything that was under his hand, because Jehovah was with him and what he did, Jehovah made it prosper.

⁹ Honor Jehovah with your substance and with the first-fruits of all your increase, ¹⁰ so your barns will be filled with plenty and your vats will overflow with new wine.

¹⁰ Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house and prove me now with this, says Jehovah of hosts, if I will not open to you* the windows of heaven and pour you* out a blessing, that there will not be room enough for it.

¹ And David made for him houses in the city of David. And he prepared a place for the ark of God and pitched a tent for it. ² Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites, for Jehovah has chosen them to carry the ark of God and to minister to him until everlasting. ³ And David assembled all Israel at Jerusalem to bring up the ark of Jehovah to its place, which he had prepared for it.

²⁵ So David and the elders of Israel and the captains over thousands, went to bring up the ark of the covenant of Jehovah out of the house of Obed-edom with joy.

⁷ Lift up your* heads, O you* gates and be lifted up, you* doors everlasting and the King of glory will come in.
⁸ Who is the King of glory? Jehovah strong and mighty; Jehovah mighty in battle.
⁹ Lift up your* heads, O you* gates. Yes, lift them up, you* everlasting doors and the King of glory will come in.
¹⁰ Who is this King of glory? Jehovah of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah.

²⁴ They have seen your traveling, O God, even the traveling of my God, my King, into the sanctuary.

⁶ Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah. We found it in the field of the wood. ⁷ We will go into his tabernacles. We will worship at his footstool.
⁸ Arise, O Jehovah, into your resting-place, you and the ark of your strength.

⁴² And whoever gives only a cup of cold water to drink to one of these little ones, in the name of a disciple, assuredly I am saying to you, He may never lose his reward.

⁹ But he gave none to the sons of Kohath, because the service of the sanctuary belonged to them. They bore it upon their shoulders.

³ and they commanded the people, saying, When you* see the ark of the covenant of Jehovah your* God and the priests the Levites bearing it, then you* will move from your* place and go after it.

⁵ And king Solomon and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled to him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen that could not be counted nor numbered for multitude.

¹⁵ And the sons of the Levites bore the ark of God upon their shoulders with the staves on it, as Moses commanded according to the word of Jehovah.

²⁵ So David and the elders of Israel and the captains over thousands, went to bring up the ark of the covenant of Jehovah out of the house of Obed-edom with joy. ²⁶ And it happened, when God helped the Levites who bore the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, that they sacrificed seven bullocks and seven rams.

⁶ And king Solomon and all the congregation of Israel that were assembled to him, were before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen that could not be counted nor numbered for multitude.

²⁰ And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.

⁶ and you* will be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. These are the words which you will speak to the sons of Israel.

⁵ And you will love Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

³⁴ And Jephthah came to Mizpah to his house, and behold, his daughter came out to meet him with timbrels and with dances. And she was his only child. Besides her he had neither son nor daughter.

²¹ and watch. And behold, if the daughters of Shiloh come out to dance in the dances, then come out of the vineyards and catch for you* every man his wife from the daughters of Shiloh and go to the land of Benjamin.

¹⁸ But Samuel ministered before Jehovah, being a child, girded with a linen ephod.

²⁸ And did I choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to go up to my altar, to burn incense, to wear an ephod before me? And did I give to the house of your father all the offerings of the sons of Israel made by fire?

¹⁸ And the king said to Doeg, Turn and fall upon the priests. And Doeg the Edomite turned and he fell upon the priests and he killed on that day eighty-five persons who wore a linen ephod.

²⁷ And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen and all the Levites who bore the ark and the singers and Chenaniah the master of the song with the singers. And David had upon him an ephod of linen.

¹¹ You have turned for me my mourning into dancing. You have loosed my sackcloth and girded me with gladness,

³ Let them praise his name in the dance. Let them sing praises to him with timbrel and harp.

⁴ Praise him with timbrel and dance. Praise him with stringed instruments and pipe.

¹⁰ Whatever your hand finds to do, do with your might, because there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in Sheol, where you go.

²⁵ Now his elder son was in the field and as he is coming, he drew near to the house, and he heard harmony and dancers.

²³ And everything, anything whatever you do, work from your soul, as you would to the Lord and not as to men;

¹ And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, ² You make two trumpets of silver, you will make them of beaten work. And you will use them for the calling of the congregation and for the journeying of the camps. ³ And when they will blow them, all the congregation will gather themselves to you at the door of the tent of meeting. ⁴ And if they blow but one, then the rulers, the heads of the thousands of Israel, will gather themselves to you. ⁵ And when you* blow an alarm, the camps that lie on the east side will take their journey. ⁶ And when you* blow an alarm the second time, the camps that lie on the south side will take their journey. They will blow an alarm for their journeys. ⁷ But when the assembly is to be gathered together, you* will blow, but you* will not shout out an alarm.
⁸ And the sons of Aaron, the priests, will blow the trumpets and they will be to you* for an everlasting statute throughout your* genealogy. ⁹ And when you* go to war in your* land against the adversary that oppresses you*, then you* will shout out an alarm with the trumpets. And you* will be remembered before Jehovah your* God and you* will be saved from your* enemies. ¹⁰ Also in the day of your* gladness and in your* set feasts and in the beginnings of your* months, you* will blow the trumpets over your* burnt offerings and over the sacrifices of your* peace offerings. And they will be to you* for a memorial before your* God: I am Jehovah your* God.

⁴ And seven priests will bear seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark. And the seventh day you* will encompass the city seven times and the priests will blow the trumpets. ⁵ And it will be, that, when they make a prolonged blast with the ram's horn and when you* hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people will shout with a great shout. And the wall of the city will fall down flat and the people will go up every man straight before him.

¹⁶ And David spoke to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brothers the singers, with instruments of music, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding-aloud and lifting up the voice with joy.

²⁵ So David and the elders of Israel and the captains over thousands, went to bring up the ark of the covenant of Jehovah out of the house of Obed-edom with joy.

²⁸ Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of Jehovah with shouting and with sound of the cornet and with trumpets and with cymbals, sounding-aloud with psalteries and harps.

¹⁰ And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of Jehovah, they set the priests in their apparel with trumpets and the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise Jehovah, after the order of David King of Israel. ¹¹ And they sang one to another in praising and giving thanks to Jehovah, saying, For he is good, for his loving kindness is everlasting toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised Jehovah, because the foundation of the house of Jehovah was laid.

¹ O clap your* hands, all you* peoples. Shout to God with the voice of triumph.

⁵ God has gone up with a shout, Jehovah with the sound of a trumpet. ⁶ Sing praise to God, sing praises. Sing praises to our King, sing praises.

¹⁸ I will clothe his enemies with shame, but upon himself his crown will flourish.

³ Praise him with horn and trumpet-blast. Praise him with psaltery and harp.

¹⁴ And David sent messengers to Ish-bosheth, Saul's son, saying, Deliver to me my wife Michal whom I betrothed to me for a hundred foreskins of the Philistines.

²⁹ And it happened, as the ark of the covenant of Jehovah came to the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looked out at the window and saw king David dancing and playing. And she despised him in her heart.

⁷ Because for your sake I have borne reproach, shame has covered my face.

³ He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And as him from whom men hide their face he was despised and we esteemed him not.

¹³ But others sneering, were saying, They are full of new-wine.

¹⁴ Now the physical man is not accepting the things from the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness to him, and he is not able to know them, because they are spiritually examined.

⁶² And the king and all Israel with him, offered sacrifice before Jehovah. ⁶³ And Solomon offered for the sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered to Jehovah, twenty-two thousand oxen and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the sons of Israel dedicated the house of Jehovah.
⁶⁴ The same day the king made the middle of the court holy that was before the house of Jehovah, for there he offered the burnt offering and the meal offering and the fat of the peace offerings, because the brazen altar that was before Jehovah was too little to receive the burnt offering and the meal offering and the fat of the peace offerings.
⁶⁵ So Solomon held the feast at that time and all Israel with him, a great assembly, from the entrance of Hamath to the brook of Egypt, before Jehovah our God, seven days and seven days, even fourteen days.

¹ And David made for him houses in the city of David. And he prepared a place for the ark of God and pitched a tent for it.

¹ And they brought in the ark of God and set it in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it. And they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before God.

⁴ But the ark of God David had brought up from Kiriath-jearim to the place that David had prepared for it. For he had pitched a tent for it at Jerusalem.

⁵ And king Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty-two thousand oxen and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the people dedicated the house of God.
⁶ And the priests stood according to their offices, also the Levites with instruments of music of Jehovah, which David the king had made to give thanks to Jehovah (for his loving kindness is everlasting) when David praised by their ministry and the priests blew trumpets before them. And all Israel stood.
⁷ Moreover Solomon made the middle of the court holy that was before the house of Jehovah. For there he offered the burnt offerings and the fat of the peace offerings, because the brazen altar which Solomon had made was not able to receive the burnt offering and the meal offering and the fat.

¹⁶ And the sons of Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the rest of the sons of the captivity,
kept the dedication of this house of God with joy.
¹⁷ And they offered at the dedication of this house of God a hundred bullocks, two hundred rams, four hundred lambs. And for a sin offering for all Israel, twelve male-goats, according to the number of the tribes of Israel.

⁸ Arise, O Jehovah, into your resting-place, you and the ark of your strength.

¹⁹ And he blessed him and said, Abram be blessed from God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth.

⁴³ And Moses saw all the work, and behold, they had done it, as Jehovah had commanded, even so they had done it. And Moses blessed them.

²² And Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people and blessed them. And he came down from offering the sin offering and the burnt offering and the peace offerings. ²³ And Moses and Aaron went into the tent of meeting and came out and blessed the people. And the glory of Jehovah appeared to all the people.

¹⁴ And the king turned his face around and blessed all the assembly of Israel. And all the assembly of Israel stood.

⁵⁵ And he stood and blessed all the assembly of Israel with a loud voice, saying,

² And when David had made an end of offering the burnt offering and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of Jehovah.

³ And the king turned his face and blessed all the assembly of Israel. And all the assembly of Israel stood.

¹⁸ For a multitude of the people, even many of Ephraim and Manasseh, Issachar and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet they ate the Passover otherwise than it is written.
For Hezekiah had prayed for them, saying, The good Jehovah pardon everyone ¹⁹ who sets his heart to seek God, Jehovah, the God of his fathers, though he is not according to the purification of the sanctuary.

²⁷ Then the priests the Levites arose and blessed the people. And their voice was heard and their prayer came up to his holy habitation, even to heaven.

²⁶ God, having raised up his young-servant Jesus, sent him to you first, blessing you in turning each of you away from your wickednesses.

¹ For this Melchizedek, King of Salem, priest of the Highest God, who met Abraham returning from the butcher of the kings and blessed him, ² to whom Abraham also divided a tenth away from all things. Being first, by translation, King of righteousness and thereafter also King of Salem, which is King of peace; ³ he had no father, no mother, with no genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but having been made similar to the Son of God, remains a continual priest.
⁴ Now view how-great this man was, to whom even Abraham, the patriarch, gave a tenth out of the spoils. ⁵ And they indeed from the sons of Levi who receive the priest’s office have the commandment to take-tithes from the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, although these have come out of the loins of Abraham. ⁶ But he whose genealogy is not traced from them has taken-tithes of Abraham and has blessed the one who has the promises. ⁷ But without any dispute the inferior is blessed by the better one.

⁶⁶ On the eighth day he sent the people away. And they blessed the king and went to their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that Jehovah had shown to David his servant and to Israel his people.

³ And he dealt to every one of Israel, both man and woman, to every one a loaf of bread and a portion of flesh and a cake of raisins.

¹⁰ And on the twenty-third day of the seventh month he sent the people away to their tents, joyful and glad of heart for the goodness that Jehovah had shown to David and to Solomon and to Israel his people.

²⁴ For Hezekiah king of Judah gave to the assembly for offerings a thousand bullocks and seven thousand sheep. And the rulers gave to the assembly a thousand bullocks and ten thousand sheep. And a great number of priests made themselves holy.

⁷ And Josiah gave to the sons of the people, of the flock, lambs and kids, all of them for the Passover offerings, to all who were present, to the number of thirty thousand and also three thousand bullocks; these were of the king's substance.
⁸ And his rulers gave for a free-will offering to the people, to the priests and to the Levites. Hilkiah and Zechariah and Jehiel, the rulers of the house of God, gave to the priests for the Passover offerings two thousand and six hundred small cattle and three hundred oxen.

¹² And they removed the burnt offerings that they might give them according to the divisions of the fathers' houses of the sons of the people, to offer to Jehovah as it is written in the book of Moses. And so they did with the oxen. ¹³ And they roasted the Passover with fire according to the ordinance. And the holy offerings they boiled in pots and in caldrons and in pans and carried them quickly to all the sons of the people.

¹⁰ Then he said to them, Go your* way, eat fat things and drink sweet things and send portions to him for whom nothing is prepared. For this day is holy to our Lord; neither be you* grieved, for the joy of Jehovah is your* strength.

¹⁷ And it will be the ruler's part to give the burnt offerings and the meal offerings and the drink offerings, in the feasts and on the new moons and on the Sabbaths, in all the appointed feasts of the house of Israel. He will prepare the sin offering and the meal offering and the burnt offering and the peace offerings, to make atonement for the house of Israel.

³⁵ I showed to you an example in all things, that so laboring, it is essential to help the weak and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, It is more fortunate to give than to receive.

⁸ Hence he says, ‘When he ascended onto high, he captured captivity and gave presents to men.’

¹⁹ For I have known him, to the end that he may command his children and his household after him, that they may keep the way of Jehovah, to do righteousness and justice, to the end that Jehovah may bring upon Abraham what he has spoken of him.

¹⁵ And if it seems evil to you* to serve Jehovah, choose you* this day whom you* will serve: whether the gods which your* fathers served that were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you* dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah.

⁴ And they gave him seventy pieces of silver out of the house of Baal-berith, with which Abimelech hired vain and unstable fellows who followed him.

²³ And he went there to Naioth in Ramah and the Spirit of God came upon him also and he went on and prophesied until he came to Naioth in Ramah. ²⁴ And he also stripped off his clothes and he also prophesied before Samuel and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Therefore they say, Is Saul also among the prophets?

¹⁴ And David danced before Jehovah with all his might. And David was girded with a linen ephod.

¹⁶ And it was so, as the ark of Jehovah came into the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looked out at the window and saw king David leaping and dancing before Jehovah and she despised him in her heart.

¹⁸ And when David had made an end of offering the burnt offering and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of Jehovah of hosts.

⁴³ And all the people departed every man to his house. And David returned to bless his house.

³ Now Tobiah the Ammonite was by him and he said, Even what they are building, if a fox goes up he will break down their stone wall.
⁴ Hear, O our God, for we are despised and so turn back their reproach upon their own head and give them up for a spoil in a land of captivity,

⁸ They are sons of fools, yes, sons of base men. They were scourged out of the land.

¹ I will lift you up, O Jehovah, because you have raised me up and have not made my foes to rejoice over me.

⁷ Because for your sake I have borne reproach, shame has covered my face. ⁸ I have become a stranger to my brothers and an alien to my mother's sons.
⁹ Because the zeal of your house has eaten me up and the reproaches of those who reproach you have fallen upon me.

² I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when will you come to me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.

² For he grew up before him as a tender plant and as a root out of a dry ground. He has no form nor comeliness. And when we see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
³ He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And as him from whom men hide their face he was despised and we esteemed him not.

²¹ And when those close beside him heard it, they went out to take-hold of him; for they were saying, He is crazy.

⁶ Therefore, he comes to Simon Peter and that man says to him, Lord, why are you washing my feet?

¹⁰ We are foolish because of Christ, but you are prudent in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You are glorious, but we are dishonored. ¹¹ We are both hungry and thirsty, till the current hour, and are naked and are battered and are homeless; ¹² and we are laboring, working with our own hands. Being reviled, we are speaking well of them; being persecuted, we are tolerating it; ¹³ being blasphemed, we are encouraging. We have become like the scums of the world, the garbage of all things, even until now.

⁷ but emptied himself, having taken the form of a bondservant, having become in the likeness of men; ⁸ and having been found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, having become obedient as far as death, and even death from a cross.

¹⁴ but now your kingdom will not continue. Jehovah has sought for him a man after his own heart and Jehovah has appointed him to be prince over his people, because you have not kept what Jehovah commanded you.

²⁸ And Samuel said to him, Jehovah has torn the kingdom of Israel from you this day and has given it to a neighbor of your, who is better than you.

¹ And Jehovah said to Samuel, How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and go. I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have provided for me a king among his sons.

¹² And he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy and of a beautiful countenance and fine to look upon. And Jehovah said, Arise, anoint him, for this is he.

⁵ And David and all the house of Israel played before Jehovah with all manner of instruments of fir-wood and with harps and with psalteries and with timbrels and with castanets and with cymbals.

⁷⁰ He also chose David his servant and took him from the sheepfolds. ⁷¹ He brought him from following the ewe-lambs that have their young, to be the shepherd of Jacob his people and Israel his inheritance.
⁷² So he was their shepherd according to the integrity of his heart and guided them by the skillfulness of his hands.

¹⁹ Then you spoke in a vision to your holy ones and said, I have laid help upon a mighty man. I have exalted a chosen man out of the people.
²⁰ I have found David my servant. I have anointed him with my holy oil,

²² And having removed him, he lifted up David to be king to them; to whom he also testified and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man according to my own heart, who will be practicing all my will.

³¹ Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or if you are doing anything, do all to the glory of God.

¹⁰ I am not worthy of the least of all the loving kindnesses and of all the truth, which you have shown to your servant, because with my staff I passed over this Jordan and now I have become two companies.

³⁰ Therefore Jehovah, the God of Israel, says, I said indeed that your house and the house of your father, should walk before me everlasting, but now Jehovah says, Be it far from me, for those who honor me I will honor and those who despise me will be lightly esteemed.

⁴ Behold, I am of small account. What shall I answer you? I lay my hand upon my mouth.

⁶ Therefore I abhor myself and repent in dust and ashes.

⁶ I gave my back to the strikers and my cheeks to those who plucked off the hair. I did not hide my face from shame and spitting.

⁷ Listen to me, you* who know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law. Do not fear the reproach of men, nor be you* dismayed at their revilings.

¹¹ You are fortunate whenever they reproach and persecute you and say every evil word against you–lying, because of me. ¹² Rejoice and be glad, because your reward is much in the heavens; for thus, they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

⁴¹ Therefore indeed, they were traveling from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were deemed worthy to be dishonored on behalf of the name of Jesus. ⁴² And they were not ceasing, teaching and proclaiming the good-news of Jesus as the Christ every day both in the temple and in every house.

¹⁵ Faithful is the word and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am foremost.

² Looking away from things, look toward Jesus, the author and completer of the faith, who endured the cross having despised shame, in exchange-for the joy laying before him, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

¹⁴ If you are reproached in the name of Christ, you are fortunate, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. He is indeed blasphemed according to their manner, but he is glorified according to your manner.

⁶ Therefore humble yourselves under the powerful hand of God, in order that he may exalt you in time;

⁶ And her rival provoked her greatly, to make her fret, because Jehovah had shut up her womb. ⁷ And as he did so year by year when she went up to the house of Jehovah, so she provoked her. Therefore she wept and did not eat. ⁸ And Elkanah her husband said to her, Hannah, why do you weep? And why do you not eat? And why is your heart grieved? Am not I better to you than ten sons?

³⁵ And Samuel came no more to see Saul until the day of his death, for Samuel mourned for Saul and Jehovah regretted that he had made Saul king over Israel.

¹ And seven women will take hold of one man in that day, saying, We will eat our own bread and wear our own apparel. Only let us be called by your name; take away our reproach.

¹⁴ And Jehovah of hosts revealed himself in my ears, Surely this iniquity will not be forgiven you* till you* die, says the Lord, Jehovah of hosts.

¹¹ As for Ephraim, their glory will fly away like a bird. There will be no birth and none with child and no conception.

²⁵ and did not know her intimately until she bore her firstborn son, and he called his name Jesus.

²⁵ Thus the Lord has done to me in the days in which he looked upon me, to take away my reproach among men.
