¹ Then all the tribes of Israel came to David to Hebron and spoke, saying, Behold, we are your bone and your flesh. ² In times past, when Saul was king over us, it was you who led out and brought in Israel. And Jehovah said to you, You will be shepherd of my people Israel and you will be prince over Israel.
³ So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron. And king David made a covenant with them in Hebron before Jehovah and they anointed David king over Israel.
⁴ David was thirty years old when he began to reign and he reigned forty years. ⁵ In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years over all Israel and Judah.
⁶ And the king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, who spoke to David, saying, Unless you take away the blind and the lame, you will not come in here, thinking, David cannot come in here. ⁷ Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion; the same is the city of David.
⁸ And David said on that day, Whoever slays the Jebusites, let him get up to the watercourse and kill * the lame and the blind, the hated by David's soul, because the blind and the lame say, He cannot come into the house.
⁹ And David dwelt in the stronghold and called it the city of David. And David built all around from Millo and inward. ¹⁰ And David grew greater and greater, for Jehovah, the God of hosts, was with him.
¹¹ And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David and cedar trees and carpenters and masons and they built David a house. ¹² And David perceived that Jehovah had established him king over Israel and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel's sake.
¹³ And David took for him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he came from Hebron and there were yet sons and daughters born to David. ¹⁴ And these are the names of those who were born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua and Shobab and Nathan and Solomon, ¹⁵ and Ibhar and Elishua and Nepheg and Japhia, ¹⁶ and Elishama and Eliada and Eliphelet.
¹⁷ And when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard of it and went down to the stronghold. ¹⁸ Now the Philistines had come and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
¹⁹ And David inquired of Jehovah, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hand? And Jehovah said to David, Go up, for I will certainly deliver the Philistines into your hand.
²⁰ And David came to Baal-perazim and David killed* them there. And he said, Jehovah has broken my enemies before me, like the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baal-perazim. ²¹ And they left their images there and David and his men took them away.
²² And the Philistines came up yet again and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim. ²³ And when David inquired of Jehovah, he said, You will not go up. Make a circuit behind them and come upon them opposite the mulberry trees. ²⁴ And it will be, when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then you will move yourself, for then Jehovah has gone out before you to kill* the army of the Philistines.
²⁵ And David did so, as Jehovah commanded him and killed* the Philistines from Geba until you come to Gezer.

¹⁴ And Laban said to him, Surely you are my bone and my flesh. And he abode with him the space of a month.

¹⁵ you will surely set him king over you whom Jehovah your God will choose. You will set a king over you from among your brothers. You may not put a foreigner over you who is not your brother.

² Speak, I beseech you*, in the ears of all the men of Shechem, Which is better for you*, that all the sons of Jerubbaal, who are seventy men, rule over you*, or that one rule over you*? Remember also that I am your* bone and your* flesh.

¹³ And say you* to Amasa, Are you not my bone and my flesh? God do so to me and more also, if you not be captain of the army before me continually in the place of Joab.

¹ Then all Israel gathered themselves to David to Hebron, saying, Behold, we are your bone and your flesh. ² In times past, even when Saul was king, it was you who led out and brought in Israel. And Jehovah your God said to you, You will be shepherd of my people Israel and you will be ruler over my people Israel.
³ So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron. And David made a covenant with them in Hebron before Jehovah. And they anointed David king over Israel, according to the word of Jehovah by Samuel.

²³ And these are the numbers of the heads of those who were armed for war, who came to David to Hebron, to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the word of Jehovah.
²⁴ The sons of Judah who bore shield and spear were six thousand and eight hundred, armed for war.
²⁵ Of the sons of Simeon, mighty men of valor for the war, seven thousand and one hundred.
²⁶ Of the sons of Levi four thousand and six hundred. ²⁷ And Jehoiada was the leader of the house of Aaron. And with him were three thousand and seven hundred, ²⁸ and Zadok, a young man mighty of valor and of his father's house twenty-two captains.
²⁹ And of the sons of Benjamin, the brothers of Saul, three thousand, for hitherto the greatest part of them had kept their allegiance to the house of Saul.
³⁰ And of the sons of Ephraim twenty thousand and eight hundred, mighty men of valor, famous men in their fathers' houses.
³¹ And of the half-tribe of Manasseh eighteen thousand, who were mentioned by name, to come and make David king.
³² And of the sons of Issachar, men who had understanding of the times to know what Israel ought to do, the heads of them were two hundred. And all their brothers were at their commandment.
³³ Of Zebulun, such as were able to go out in the army, who could arranged for battle, with all manner of instruments of war, fifty thousand and who could order the battle array and were not of double heart.
³⁴ And of Naphtali a thousand captains and with them thirty-seven thousand with shield and spear.
³⁵ And of the Danites who could be arranged for battle, twenty-eight thousand and six hundred.
³⁶ And of Asher, such as were able to go out in the army, who could be arranged for battle, forty thousand.
³⁷ And on the other side of the Jordan, of the Reubenites and the Gadites and of the half-tribe of Manasseh, with all manner of instruments of war for the battle, a hundred and twenty thousand.
³⁸ All these being men of war, who could order the battle array, came with a perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel. And all the rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king. ³⁹ And they were there with David three days, eating and drinking, for their brothers had made preparation for them.
⁴⁰ Moreover those who were near to them, even as far as Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, brought bread on donkeys and on camels and on mules and on oxen, provisions of meal, cakes of figs and clusters of raisins and wine and oil and oxen and sheep in abundance, for there was joy in Israel.

³⁰ because we are members of his body, out of his flesh and out of his bones.

¹⁴ Therefore since the children have shared of flesh and blood, in like-manner he partook of the same; in order that through death, he might do-away-with the one who had the dominion of death, this is the devil;

¹⁷ who may go out before them and who may come in before them and who may lead them out and who may bring them in, that the congregation of Jehovah is not as sheep which have no shepherd.

¹⁶ Tomorrow about this time I will send you a man out of the land of Benjamin and you will anoint him to be prince over my people Israel. And he will save my people out of the hand of the Philistines, for I have looked upon my people, because their cry has come to me.

¹⁴ but now your kingdom will not continue. Jehovah has sought for him a man after his own heart and Jehovah has appointed him to be prince over his people, because you have not kept what Jehovah commanded you.

¹ And Jehovah said to Samuel, How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and go. I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have provided for me a king among his sons.

¹² And he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy and of a beautiful countenance and fine to look upon. And Jehovah said, Arise, anoint him, for this is he. ¹³ Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers. And the Spirit of Jehovah came mightily upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up and went to Ramah.

⁵ And David went out wherever Saul sent him, and behaved himself wisely. And Saul set him over the men of war and it was good in the sight of all the people and also in the sight of Saul's servants.

¹³ Therefore Saul removed him from him and made him his captain over a thousand and he went out and came in before the people.

¹⁶ But all Israel and Judah loved David, for he went out and came in before them.

²⁸ I beseech you, forgive the trespass of your handmaid. For Jehovah will certainly make my lord a sure house, because my lord fights the battles of Jehovah and evil will not be found in you all your days.

³⁰ And it will happen, when Jehovah will have done to my lord according to all the good that he has spoken concerning you and will have appointed you prince over Israel,

⁷ In all places in which I have walked with all the sons of Israel, did I speak a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to be shepherd of my people Israel, saying, Why have you* not built for me a house of cedar?

⁵ Turn back and say to Hezekiah the prince of my people, Jehovah says thus, the God of David your father, I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears. Behold, I will heal you. On the third day you will go up to the house of Jehovah.

⁷⁰ He also chose David his servant and took him from the sheepfolds. ⁷¹ He brought him from following the ewe-lambs that have their young, to be the shepherd of Jacob his people and Israel his inheritance.
⁷² So he was their shepherd according to the integrity of his heart and guided them by the skillfulness of his hands.

¹¹ He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will gather the lambs in his arm and carry them in his bosom, and will gently lead those who have their young.

⁴ Behold, I have given him for a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander to the peoples.

²³ And I will set up one shepherd over them and he will feed them, even my servant David. He will feed them and he will be their shepherd.

²⁴ And my servant David will be king over them and they all will have one shepherd. They will also walk in my ordinances and observe my statutes and do them. ²⁵ And they will dwell in the land that I have given to Jacob my servant, in which your* fathers dwelt. And they will dwell in it, they and their sons and their son's sons, everlasting. And David my servant will be their ruler everlasting.

⁴ And he will stand and will feed his flock in the strength of Jehovah, in the majesty of the name of Jehovah his God and they will abide. For now he will be great to the ends of the earth.

⁶ ‘And Bethlehem, a land of Judah, you are by no means least among the governors of Judah; for a leader will be coming forth from you, who will be shepherding my people Israel.’

³ The doorkeeper opens to him, and the sheep hear his voice and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. ⁴ And whenever he has cast out his own sheep, he travels before them and the sheep follow him, because they know his voice.

¹¹ I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life on behalf of the sheep.

¹⁰ For it was suitable for him, because of whom are all things and through whom are all things, having led many sons to glory, to complete the author of their salvation through sufferings.

¹⁶ Go and gather the elders of Israel together and say to them, Jehovah, the God of your* fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac and of Jacob, has appeared to me, saying, I have surely visited you* and seen what is done to you* in Egypt.

¹¹ Then Jephthah went with the elders of Gilead and the people made him head and chief over them. And Jephthah spoke all his words before Jehovah in Mizpah.

¹⁵ And all the people went to Gilgal. And there they made Saul king before Jehovah in Gilgal and there they offered sacrifices of peace offerings before Jehovah and there Saul and all the men of Israel rejoiced greatly.

¹³ Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers. And the Spirit of Jehovah came mightily upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up and went to Ramah.

¹⁸ And those two made a covenant before Jehovah. And David abode in the forest and Jonathan went to his house.

⁴ And the men of Judah came and there they anointed David king over the house of Judah. And they told David, saying, The men of Jabesh-gilead were those who buried Saul.

²¹ And Abner said to David, I will arise and go and will gather all Israel to my lord the king that they may make a covenant with you and that you may reign over all that your soul desires. And David sent Abner away and he went in peace.

¹⁷ And Jehoiada made a covenant between Jehovah and the king and the people, that they should be Jehovah's people; between the king also and the people.

³ So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron. And David made a covenant with them in Hebron before Jehovah. And they anointed David king over Israel, according to the word of Jehovah by Samuel.

¹⁶ And Jehoiada made a covenant between himself and all the people and the king, that they should be Jehovah's people.

³⁸ And yet for all this we make a sure covenant and write it and our rulers, our Levites, and our priests, seal to it.

¹¹ And the days that David reigned over Israel were forty years. He reigned seven years in Hebron and he reigned thirty-three years in Jerusalem.

⁴ Six were born to him in Hebron and he reigned there seven years and six months. And in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years.

³¹ Of the Hebronites was Jerijah the chief, even of the Hebronites, according to their genealogy by fathers. In the fortieth year of the reign of David they were sought for and there were found among them mighty men of valor at Jazer of Gilead.

²⁷ And the time that he reigned over Israel was forty years. He reigned seven years in Hebron and he reigned thirty-three years in Jerusalem.

²³ And he was approximately thirty years old, when beginning to teach, (as it was supposed, the son of Joseph). Although Jesus, himself was a descendant from Heli,

¹¹ And the time that David was king in Hebron over the house of Judah was seven years and six months.

¹⁸ And Melchizedek King of Salem brought out bread and wine. And he was priest of God Most High.

³ Therefore Adoni-zedek king of Jerusalem sent word to Hoham king of Hebron and to Piram king of Jarmuth and to Japhia king of Lachish and to Debir king of Eglon, saying,

⁶³ And as for the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the sons of Judah could not drive them out, but the Jebusites dwell with the sons of Judah at Jerusalem to this day.

²⁸ and Zelah, Eleph and the Jebusite (what is Jerusalem), Gibeath, and Kiriath; fourteen cities with their villages. This is the inheritance of the sons of Benjamin according to their families.

⁸ And the sons of Judah fought against Jerusalem and took it and killed* it with the edge of the sword and set the city on fire.

²¹ And the sons of Benjamin did not drive out the Jebusites who inhabited Jerusalem, but the Jebusites dwell with the sons of Benjamin in Jerusalem to this day.

¹⁰ But the man would not abide that night, but he rose up and departed and came opposite Jebus (what is Jerusalem). And there were with him a couple of saddled donkeys. His concubine was also with him.
¹¹ When they were by Jebus, the day was far spent and the servant said to his master, Come, I beseech you and let us turn aside into this city of the Jebusites and lodge in it. ¹² And his master said to him, We will not turn aside into the city of a foreigner that is not of the sons of Israel, but we will pass over to Gibeah.

⁴ And David and all Israel went to Jerusalem (what is Jebus) and the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, were there. ⁵ And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David, You will not come in here. Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion; the same is the city of David. ⁶ And David said, Whoever slays the Jebusites first will be chief and captain. And Joab the son of Zeruiah went up first and was made chief.
⁷ And David dwelt in the stronghold. Therefore they called it the city of David. ⁸ And he built the city all around, from Millo even all around. And Joab repaired the rest of the city. ⁹ And David grew greater and greater, for Jehovah of hosts was with him.

¹⁰ For though you* had struck the whole army of the Chaldeans who fight against you* and there remained but wounded men among them, yes they would rise up every man in his tent and burn this city with fire.

¹ For this Melchizedek, King of Salem, priest of the Highest God, who met Abraham returning from the butcher of the kings and blessed him,

⁹ And David dwelt in the stronghold and called it the city of David. And David built all around from Millo and inward.

¹⁰ So David would not remove the ark of Jehovah to him into the city of David, but David carried it aside into the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.

¹² And it was told king David, saying, Jehovah has blessed the house of Obed-edom and all that pertains to him, because of the ark of God. And David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-edom into the city of David with joy.

¹⁶ And it was so, as the ark of Jehovah came into the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looked out at the window and saw king David leaping and dancing before Jehovah and she despised him in her heart.

¹⁰ And David slept with his fathers and was buried in the city of David.

¹ And Solomon made a marriage-agreement with Pharaoh King of Egypt and took Pharaoh's daughter and brought her into the city of David until he had made an end of building his own house and the house of Jehovah and the wall of Jerusalem all around.

¹ Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the princes of the fathers of the sons of Israel, to king Solomon in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of Jehovah out of the city of David, which is Zion.

⁷ And David dwelt in the stronghold. Therefore they called it the city of David.

² Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the rulers of the fathers of the sons of Israel, to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of Jehovah out of the city of David, which is Zion.

¹⁶ And they buried him in the city of David among the kings, because he had done good in Israel and toward God and his house.

⁶ Yet I have set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

¹¹ Sing praises to Jehovah, who dwells in Zion. Declare among the people his practices.

¹⁸ Do good in your good pleasure to Zion. Build you the walls of Jerusalem.

² Jehovah loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.

¹³ Because Jehovah has chosen Zion. He has desired it for his habitation.

⁶ Cry aloud and shout, you inhabitant of Zion, for great in the midst of you is the Holy One of Israel.

²⁰ And he who redeems will come to Zion and to those who turn from transgression in Jacob, says Jehovah.

² And many nations will go and say, Come and let us go up to the mountain of Jehovah and to the house of the God of Jacob and he will teach us of his ways and we will walk in his paths. For out of Zion will go forth the law and the word of Jehovah from Jerusalem.

³³ just-as it has been written, ‘Behold, I place a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense in Zion and everyone who believes on him will not be ashamed.’

²² But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, to the heavenly Jerusalem, and to tens of thousands of messengers,

¹ And I saw and behold, the Lamb standing upon the Mount Zion and with him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having his name and the name of his Father written upon their foreheads.

¹⁶ And Caleb said, He who slays Kiriath-sepher and takes it, to him I will give Achsah my daughter as a wife. ¹⁷ And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it and he gave him Achsah his daughter as a wife.

²⁵ And the men of Israel said, Have you* seen this man who has come up? Surely to defy Israel he has come up. And it will be, that the man who kills him, the king will enrich him with great riches and will give him his daughter and make his father's house free in Israel.

⁶ And all the men of Shechem assembled themselves together and all the Beth-millo and went and made Abimelech king by the oak of the pillar that was in Shechem.

²⁰ But if not, let fire come out from Abimelech and devour the men of Shechem and Beth-millo and devour Abimelech.

⁷ Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion; the same is the city of David.

¹⁵ And this is the reason for the forced-labor which king Solomon raised: to build the house of Jehovah and his own house and Millo and the wall of Jerusalem and Hazor and Megiddo and Gezer.

²⁴ But Pharaoh's daughter came up out of the city of David to her house which Solomon had built for her. Then he built Millo.

²⁷ And this was the reason why he lifted up his hand against the king: Solomon built Millo and repaired the breach of the city of David his father.

⁸ And he built the city all around, from Millo even all around. And Joab repaired the rest of the city.

⁵ And he took courage and built up all the wall that was broken down and raised it up to the towers and the other wall outside and strengthened Millo in the city of David and made weapons and shields in abundance.

²² And it happened at that time, that Abimelech and Phicol the captain of his army spoke to Abraham, saying, God is with you in all that you do.

¹ Now there was long war between the house of Saul and the house of David. And David grew stronger and stronger, but the house of Saul grew weaker and weaker.

⁹ Yet the righteous will hold on his way. And he who has clean hands will grow stronger and stronger.

⁷ Jehovah of hosts is with us. The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

¹⁸ But the path of the righteous is as the dawning light, that shines more and more to the perfect day.

⁹ Make an uproar, O you* peoples and be broken in pieces. And listen, all you* of far countries. Gird yourselves and be broken in pieces. Gird yourselves and be broken in pieces. ¹⁰ Take counsel together and it will be brought to nothing. Speak the word and it will not stand, for God is with us.

⁷ Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and upon his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from hereafter until everlasting. The zeal of Jehovah of hosts will perform this.

⁴⁴ And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will the sovereignty of it be left to another people, but it will break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms and it will stand forever.
⁴⁵ Inasmuch as you saw that a stone was cut out of the mountain without hands and that it broke in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver and the gold, the great God has made known to the king what will happen hereafter. And the dream is certain and the interpretation of it sure.

⁵² And Jesus was progressing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

³¹ Therefore what will we say to these things? If God is working on our behalf, who is against us?

² that the king said to Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of God dwells within curtains.

¹ And Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon, for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the place of his father, for Hiram was ever a devotee of David.
² And Solomon sent to Hiram, saying,

⁸ And Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, I have heard that which you have sent to me. I will do all your desire concerning timber of cedar and concerning timber of fir. ⁹ My servants will bring them down from Lebanon to the sea. And I will make them into rafts to go by sea to the place that you will appoint me and will cause them to be smashed there and you will receive them. And you will accomplish my desire in giving food for my household.
¹⁰ So Hiram gave Solomon timber of cedar and timber of fir according to all his desire.

¹⁸ And Solomon's builders and Hiram's builders and the Gebalites fashioned them and prepared the timber and the stones to build the house.

¹ And Solomon was thirteen years building his own house and he finished all his house. ² For he built the house of the forest of Lebanon. The length of it was a hundred cubits and the breadth of it fifty cubits and the height of it thirty cubits, upon four rows of cedar pillars, with cedar beams upon the pillars. ³ And it was covered with cedar above over the forty-five beams that were upon the pillars, fifteen in a row. ⁴ And there were beams in three rows and window was opposite window in three ranks. ⁵ And all the doors and posts were made square with beams and window was opposite window in three ranks.
⁶ And he made the porch of pillars. The length of it was fifty cubits and the breadth of it thirty cubits and a porch in front of them and pillars and a threshold in front of them. ⁷ And he made the porch of the throne where he was to judge, even the porch of judgment. And it was covered with cedar from floor to floor. ⁸ And his house where he was to dwell, the other court within the porch was of the like work. He also made a house for Pharaoh's daughter (whom Solomon had taken as a wife), like this porch.
⁹ All these were of costly stones, even of hewn stone, according to measure, sawed with saws, inside and outside, even from the foundation to the coping and so on the outside to the great court. ¹⁰ And the foundation was of costly stones, even great stones, stones of ten cubits and stones of eight cubits. ¹¹ And above were costly stones, even hewn stone, according to measure and cedar-wood. ¹² And the great court all around had three courses of hewn stone and a course of cedar beams, like the inner court of the house of Jehovah and the porch of the house.

¹ And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David and cedar trees and masons and carpenters, to build for him a house.

⁴ I made great works for me. I built houses for me. I planted vineyards for me. ⁵ I made gardens for me and parks and I planted trees in them of all kinds of fruit. ⁶ I made pools of water for me, to water the forest from there where trees were reared.
⁷ I bought men-servants and maid-servants and had servants born in my house. I also had great possessions of herds and flocks, above all who were before me in Jerusalem. ⁸ I also gathered silver and gold and the treasure of kings and of the provinces for me. ⁹ I got for me male-singers and female-singers and the luxuries of the sons of men and a wife and wives.
So I was great and increased more than all who were before me in Jerusalem. Also my wisdom remained with me.
¹⁰ And whatever my eyes desired I did not keep from them. I did not withhold my heart from any joy. Because my heart rejoiced because of all my labor and this was my portion from all my labor.
¹¹ Then I looked on all the works that my hands had worked and on the labor that I had labored to do, and behold, all was vanity and a striving after wind and there was no profit under the sun.

¹⁴ who says, I will build me a wide house and spacious chambers and cuts out windows for himself and it is overlaid with cedar and painted with vermilion.
¹⁵ Shall you reign, because you strive to excel in cedar? Did not your father eat and drink and do justice and righteousness? Then it was well with him. ¹⁶ He judged the cause of the poor and needy man, then it was well. Was not this to know me? says Jehovah.

¹⁶ And your house and your kingdom will be made sure forever before you; your throne will be established until everlasting.

⁹ Praise Jehovah your God, who delighted in you to set you on the throne of Israel. Because Jehovah loved Israel everlasting, therefore he made you king, to do justice and righteousness.

² And David perceived that Jehovah had established him king over Israel, for his kingdom was exalted on high for his people Israel's sake.

¹¹ Then Huram the king of Tyre answered in writing, which he sent to Solomon, Because Jehovah loves his people, he has made you king over them.

¹⁴ For if you altogether keep quiet at this time, then relief and deliverance will arise to the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

²⁵ And I will turn my hand upon you and thoroughly purge away your dross and will take away all your tin. ²⁶ And I will restore your judges as at the first and your counselors as at the beginning. Afterward you will be called the city of righteousness, a faithful town.
²⁷ Zion will be redeemed with justice and her converts with righteousness.

³⁰ But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living man, but to the intent that the interpretation may be made known to the king and that you may know the thoughts of your heart.

⁵ And Abraham gave all that he had to Isaac. ⁶ But to the sons of the concubines that Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts. And he sent them away eastward from Isaac his son, while he yet lived to the east country.

¹⁷ Neither will he multiply wives to himself, that his heart do not turn away. Neither will he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.

⁹ All these were the sons of David, besides the sons of the concubines. And Tamar was their sister.

³ And David took more wives at Jerusalem and David fathered more sons and daughters. ⁴ And these are the names of the children whom he had in Jerusalem: Shammua and Shobab, Nathan and Solomon, ⁵ and Ibhar and Elishua and Elpelet, ⁶ and Nogah and Nepheg and Japhia, ⁷ and Elishama and Beeliada and Eliphelet.

¹⁸ And Rehoboam took him a wife, Mahalath the daughter of Jerimoth the son of David, and of Abihail the daughter of Eliab the son of Jesse. ¹⁹ And she bore sons for him: Jeush and Shemariah and Zaham. ²⁰ And after her he took Maacah the daughter of Absalom. And she bore for him Abijah and Attai and Ziza and Shelomith. ²¹ And Rehoboam loved Maacah the daughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines. For he took eighteen wives and thirty concubines and fathered twenty-eight sons and thirty daughters.

²¹ But Abijah grew mighty and took to himself fourteen wives and fathered twenty-two sons and sixteen daughters.

¹ And Jehovah sent Nathan to David. And he came to him and said to him, There were two men in one city: the one rich and the other poor. ² The rich man had exceedingly many flocks and herds, ³ but the poor man had nothing except one little ewe-lamb, which he had bought and nourished up. And it grew up together with him and with his sons. It ate of his own morsel and drank of his own cup and lay in his bosom and was to him as a daughter.
⁴ And there came a traveler to the rich man and he spared to take of his own flock and of his own herd to dress for the wayfaring man who came to him, but took the poor man's lamb and dressed it for the man who came to him.
⁵ And David's anger was greatly kindled against the man and he said to Nathan, As Jehovah lives, the man who has done this is worthy to die. ⁶ And he will restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing and because he had no pity.
⁷ And Nathan said to David, You are the man. Jehovah says thus, the God of Israel, I anointed you king over Israel and I delivered you out of the hand of Saul.

²⁴ And David comforted Bathsheba his wife and went in to her and lay with her. And she bore a son and he called his name Solomon. And Jehovah loved him, ²⁵ and he sent by the hand of Nathan the prophet. And he called his name Jedidiah, for Jehovah's sake.

⁵ And these were born to him in Jerusalem: Shimea and Shobab and Nathan and Solomon, four, of Bathsheba the daughter of Ammiel; ⁶ and Ibhar and Elishama and Eliphelet, ⁷ and Nogah and Nepheg and Japhia, ⁸ and Elishama and Eliada and Eliphelet, nine.
⁹ All these were the sons of David, besides the sons of the concubines. And Tamar was their sister.

And David, the king, fathered Solomon from the widow of Uriah;

³¹ which you have prepared in the face of all peoples.

⁸ and Elishama and Eliada and Eliphelet, nine.

⁷ and Elishama and Beeliada and Eliphelet.

¹⁴ And David was then in the stronghold and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Bethlehem.

⁸ And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard of it and went out against them.
⁹ Now the Philistines had come and made a raid in the valley of Rephaim.

¹ Why do the nations rage and the peoples meditate vain things? ² The kings of the earth set themselves and the rulers take counsel together, against Jehovah and against his anointed, saying, ³ Let us break their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us.
⁴ He who sits in the heavens will laugh. The Lord will mock them. ⁵ Then he will speak to them in his wrath and distress them in his great displeasure.

¹⁵ And the seventh messenger sounded, and there became loud voices in heaven saying, The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ and he will be reigning forevermore.
¹⁶ And the twenty-four elders, who sit in God’s sight upon their thrones, fell upon their faces and worshiped God, ¹⁷ saying, We give-thanks to you, O Lord God, the Almighty, who are and who was, because you have taken your great power and reigned. ¹⁸ And the nations were angry and your wrath came and the time of the dead to be judged and the time to give the reward to your bondservants, the prophets, and to the holy-ones, and to those who fear your name, to the little and to the great, and to have decay for those who are corrupting the earth.

⁵ And in the fourteenth year, Chedorlaomer came and the kings that were with him and killed* the Rephaim in Ashteroth-karnaim and the Zuzim in Ham and the Emim in Shaveh-kiriathaim

⁸ and the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom to the side of the Jebusite southward (what is Jerusalem) and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lies before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the outermost part of the vale of Rephaim northward,

¹⁵ And Joshua said to them, If you are a great people, get up to the forest and cut down for yourself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the Rephaim, since the hill-country of Ephraim is too narrow for you.

¹⁶ and the border went down to the uttermost part of the mountain that lies before the valley of the son of Hinnom, which is in the vale of Rephaim northward and it went down to the valley of Hinnom, to the side of the Jebusite southward and went down to En-rogel,

¹³ And three of the thirty chief men went down and came to David in the harvest time to the cave of Adullam and the troop of the Philistines was encamped in the valley of Rephaim.

¹⁵ And three of the thirty chief men went down to the rock to David into the cave of Adullam. And the army of the Philistines was encamped in the valley of Rephaim.

⁵ And it will be as when the harvestman gathers the standing grain and his arm reaps the ears. Yes, it will be as when he gleans ears in the valley of Rephaim.

²⁸ and Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, stood before it in those days), saying, Shall I yet again go out to battle against the sons of Benjamin my brother, or shall I cease? And Jehovah said, Go up, for tomorrow I will deliver him into your hand.

² Therefore David inquired of Jehovah, saying, Shall I go and kill* these Philistines? And Jehovah said to David, Go and kill* the Philistines and save Keilah.

⁴ Then David inquired of Jehovah yet again. And Jehovah answered him and said, Arise, go down to Keilah, for I will deliver the Philistines into your hand.

⁶ And when Saul inquired of Jehovah, Jehovah answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets.

⁷ And David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech, I beseech you, bring me here the ephod. And Abiathar brought there the ephod to David. ⁸ And David inquired of Jehovah, saying, If I pursue after this troop, shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue, for you will surely overtake them and will without fail recover all.

¹ And it happened after this, that David inquired of Jehovah, saying, Shall I go up into any of the cities of Judah? And Jehovah said to him, Go up. And David said, Where shall I go up? And he said, To Hebron.

²³ And when David inquired of Jehovah, he said, You will not go up. Make a circuit behind them and come upon them opposite the mulberry trees.

⁶ Then the King of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men and said to them, Shall I go against Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up, for the Lord will deliver it into the hand of the king.

¹⁵ And when he came to the king, the king said to him, Micaiah, will we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or will we forbear? And he answered him, Go up and prosper and Jehovah will deliver it into the hand of the king. ¹⁶ And the king said to him, How many times shall I make you swear that you speak to me nothing but the truth in the name of Jehovah?
¹⁷ And he said, I saw all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd. And Jehovah said, These have no master, let them return every man to his house in peace. ¹⁸ And the King of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell you that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?
¹⁹ And Micaiah said, Therefore hear the word of Jehovah. I saw Jehovah sitting on his throne and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left. ²⁰ And Jehovah said, Who will entice Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead? And one said on this manner and another said on that manner.
²¹ And there came out a spirit and stood before Jehovah and said, I will entice him. ²² And Jehovah said to him, With what? And he said, I will go forth and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, You will entice him and will also prevail. Go forth and do so. ²³ Now therefore, behold, Jehovah has put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these your prophets and Jehovah has spoken evil concerning you.

⁶ Acknowledge him in all your ways and he will direct your paths.

¹⁵ Instead of that, you should say, If the Lord wills, and we should also live, then we might do this or that.

²¹ For Jehovah will rise up as in Mount Perazim. He will be angry as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his foreign work and work his work, his alien work.

⁵ But thus will you* deal with them: You* will break down their altars and dash in pieces their pillars and hew down their Asherim and burn their graven images with fire.

²⁵ You* will burn the graven images of their gods with fire. You will not desire the silver or the gold that is on them, nor take it to you, lest you are snared by it, for it is an abomination to Jehovah your God.

² And the Philistines took the ark of God and brought it into the house of Dagon and set it by Dagon. ³ And when those of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of Jehovah. And they took Dagon and set him in his place again.
⁴ And when they arose early on the morning of the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of Jehovah and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands lay cut off upon the threshold. Only the stump of Dagon was left to him. ⁵ Therefore neither the priests of Dagon, nor any who come into Dagon's house, tread on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod, to this day.
⁶ But the hand of Jehovah was heavy upon them of Ashdod and he destroyed them and killed* them with tumors, even Ashdod and the borders of it.

¹¹ So they came up to Baal-perazim and David killed* them there. And David said, God has broken my enemies by my hand like the breach of waters. Therefore they called the name of that place Baal-perazim. ¹² And they left their gods there. And David commanded and they were burned with fire.

¹⁹ and have cast their gods into the fire. For they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone. Therefore they have destroyed them.

¹ Bel bows down, Nebo stoops, their idols are upon the beasts and upon the cattle. The things that you* carried about are made a load, a burden to the weary beast. ² They stoop, they bow down together. They could not deliver the burden, but themselves are gone into captivity.

¹² And I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt and he will burn them and carry them away captive. And he will array himself with the land of Egypt as a shepherd puts on his garment and he will go forth from there in peace.

¹⁸ Now the Philistines had come and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

²² And the prophet came near to the King of Israel and said to him, Go, strengthen yourself. And mark and see what you do, for at the return of the year the king of Syria will come up against you.

¹³ And the Philistines yet again made a raid in the valley.

² And you will do to Ai and its king as you did to Jericho and its king. Only the spoil of it and the cattle of it, you* will take for a prey to yourselves. Set an ambush for the city behind it.

⁷ And you* will rise up from the ambush and take possession of the city, for Jehovah your* God will deliver it into your* hand.

¹⁴ And David inquired again of God. And God said to him, You will not go up after them. Turn away from them and come upon them opposite the mulberry trees.

²³ And having stepped into the ship, his disciples followed him. ²⁴ And behold, a great squall happened in the sea, so-that the ship was hidden by the waves, but he was sleeping. ²⁵ And the disciples came to him and aroused him, saying, Save us Lord! We are perishing!

²⁹ Then he touched their eyes, saying, Let it happen for you according to your faith. ³⁰ And their eyes were opened. And Jesus scolded them, saying, See that you^\'b0 let no one know it.

⁶ Having said these things, he spits on the level-ground and made clay from the spit and anointed the clay on the eyes of the blind man, ⁷ and said to him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam (which is by translation, Sent). Therefore, he went away and washed and came back seeing.

¹⁴ And Deborah said to Barak, Up, for this is the day in which Jehovah has delivered Sisera into your hand. Has not Jehovah gone out before you? So Barak went down from Mount Tabor and ten thousand men after him.

¹⁵ And it was so, when Gideon heard the telling of the dream and the interpretation of it, that he worshiped. And he returned into the camp of Israel and said, Arise, for Jehovah has delivered the army of Midian into your* hand.

⁹ If they say thus to us, Abide until we come to you*, then we will stand still in our place and will not go up to them. ¹⁰ But if they say thus, Come up to us, then we will go up, for Jehovah has delivered them into our hand and this will be the sign to us.
¹¹ And both of them disclosed themselves to the garrison of the Philistines. And the Philistines said, Behold, the Hebrews come forth out of the holes where they had hid themselves. ¹² And the men of the garrison answered Jonathan and his armor bearer and said, Come up to us and we will show you* a thing. And Jonathan said to his armor bearer, Come up after me, for Jehovah has delivered them into the hand of Israel.

⁶ For the Lord had made the army of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great army. And they said one to another, Behold, the King of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.

¹⁵ And it will be, when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then you will go out to battle. For God has gone out before you to kill* the army of the Philistines.

¹¹ and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
¹² So-then my beloved, just-as you have always obeyed, not only as in my presence, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

¹⁰ And they did not drive out the Canaanites who dwelt in Gezer, but the Canaanites dwell in the midst of Ephraim to this day and have become servants to do forced-labor.

¹⁶ And David did as God commanded him and they killed* the army of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gezer.
