²³ But if any harm follows, then you will give life for life, ²⁴ eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, ²⁵ burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.

¹⁷ And he who slays any man mortally will surely be put to death.
¹⁸ And he who slays a beast mortally will make it good, life for life.
¹⁹ And if a man causes a blemish in his neighbor, as he has done, so will it be done to him: ²⁰ injury for injury, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, as he has caused a blemish in a man, so will it be rendered to him.
²¹ And he who kills a beast will make it good. And he who kills a man will be put to death.

¹³ Your eye will not pity him, but you will put away the innocent blood from Israel, that it may go well with you.
