Ruth 4:7-10

And this was the manner of attestation in Israel. 8 So the near kinsman said to Boaz, Buy it for yourself. And he drew off his shoe.
9 And Boaz said to the elders and to all the people, You* are witnesses this day, that I have bought all that was Elimelech's and all that was Chilion's and Mahlon's, from the hand of Naomi. 10 Moreover Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of Mahlon, I have purchased to be my wife, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance, that the name of the dead not be cut off from among his brothers and from the gate of his place. You* are witnesses this day.

9 And I bought the field that was in Anathoth of Hanamel my uncle's son and weighed him the money, even seventeen shekels of silver. 10 And I signed the deed and sealed it and called witnesses and weighed him the money in the balances.
11 So I took the deed of the purchase, both what was sealed, according to the law and custom and what was open, 12 and I delivered the deed of the purchase to Baruch the son of Neriah, the son of Mahseiah, in the presence of Hanamel my uncle's son and in the presence of the witnesses who signed the deed of the purchase, before all the Jews who sat in the court of the guard.
13 And I charged Baruch before them, saying, 14 Jehovah of hosts says thus, the God of Israel: Take these deeds, this deed of the purchase which is sealed and this deed which is open and put them in an earthen vessel that they may continue many days.
