¹ And Abraham was old, well stricken in age. And Jehovah had blessed Abraham in all things. ² And Abraham said to his servant, the elder of his house, who ruled over all that he had, I beseech you, put your hand under my thigh. ³ And I will make you swear by Jehovah, the God of heaven and the God of the earth, that you will not take a wife for my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell. ⁴ But you will go to my country and to my kindred and take a wife for my son Isaac.
⁵ And the servant said to him, Perhaps the woman will not be willing to follow me to this land. Must I bring your son again to the land from where you came? ⁶ And Abraham said to him, You beware that you not bring my son there again. ⁷ Jehovah, the God of heaven, who took me from my father's house and from the land of my nativity and who spoke to me and who swore to me, saying, To your seed I will give this land. He will send his messenger before you and you will take a wife for my son from there.
⁸ And if the woman is not willing to follow you, then you will be clear from this my oath. Only you will not bring my son there again. ⁹ And the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master and swore to him concerning this matter.
¹⁰ And the servant took ten camels, of the camels of his master and departed, having all good things of his master's in his hand. And he arose and went to Mesopotamia, to the city of Nahor. ¹¹ And he made the camels to kneel down outside the city by the well of water at the time of evening, the time that women go out to draw water.
¹² And he said, O Jehovah, the God of my master Abraham, I beseech you, cause her to meet before me this day and show kindness to my master Abraham. ¹³ Behold, I am standing by the fountain of water. And the daughters of the men of the city are coming out to draw water. ¹⁴ And let it happen, that the maiden to whom I will say, I beseech you, let down your pitcher, that I may drink.
And she will say, Drink and I will also give your camels drink. Let it be her, the one you have appointed for your servant Isaac. And I will know that you have shown kindness to my master by this.
¹⁵ And it happened, before he was done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel the son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder. ¹⁶ And the maiden was very fair to look upon, a virgin, no man had known her. And she went down to the fountain and filled her pitcher and came up.
¹⁷ And the servant ran to meet her and said, I beseech you, give me a little water to drink from your pitcher. ¹⁸ And she said, Drink, my lord. And she hurried and let down her pitcher upon her hand and gave him drink. ¹⁹ And when she had finished giving him drink, she said, I will also draw for your camels, until they have done drinking. ²⁰ And she hurried and emptied her pitcher into the trough and ran again to the well to draw and drew for all his camels.
²¹ And the man looked steadfastly on her, keeping silent, to know whether Jehovah had made his journey prosperous or not.
²² And it happened, as the camels had finished drinking, that the man took a golden ring of half a shekel weight and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight of gold, ²³ and said, Whose daughter are you? Tell me, I beseech you. Is there room in your father's house for us to lodge in?
²⁴ And she said to him, I am the daughter of Bethuel the son of Milcah, whom she bore to Nahor. ²⁵ Moreover, she said to him, We both have enough straw and fodder and room to lodge in.
²⁶ And the man bowed his head and worshiped Jehovah. ²⁷ And he said, Praise Jehovah, the God of my master Abraham, who has not forsaken his loving kindness and his truth toward my master, I being in the way, Jehovah has led me to the house of my master's brothers.
²⁸ And the girl ran and told her mother's house according to these words. ²⁹ And Rebekah had a brother and his name was Laban. And Laban ran out to the man, to the fountain. ³⁰ And it happened, when he saw the ring and the bracelets upon his sister's hands and when he heard the words of Rebekah his sister, saying, Thus spoke the man to me, that he came to the man. And behold, he was standing by the camels at the fountain. ³¹ And he said, Come in, you blessed of Jehovah. Why do you stand outside? For I have prepared the house and room for the camels.
³² And the man came into the house and he ungirded the camels. And he gave straw and fodder for the camels and water to wash his feet and the feet of the men who were with him. ³³ And there was food set before him to eat. But he said, I will not eat until I have told of my errand. And he said, Speak on.
³⁴ And he said, I am Abraham's servant. ³⁵ And Jehovah has blessed my master greatly and he has become great. And he has given him flocks and herds and silver and gold and men-servants and maid-servants and camels and donkeys. ³⁶ And Sarah my master's wife bore a son to my master when she was old. And to him he has he given all that he has.
³⁷ And my master made me swear, saying, You will not take a wife for my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I dwell, ³⁸ but you will go to my father's house and to my kindred and take a wife for my son.
³⁹ And I said to my master, Perhaps the woman will not follow me.
⁴⁰ And he said to me, Jehovah, before whom I walk, will send his messenger with you and prosper your way. And you will take a wife for my son of my kindred and of my father's house. ⁴¹ Then you will be clear from my oath, when you come to my kindred. And if they do not give her to you, you will be clear from my oath.
⁴² And I came this day to the fountain and said, O Jehovah, the God of my master Abraham, I pray, if you will, prosper the way on which I am now going, ⁴³ behold, I am standing by the fountain of water and let it happen, that the maiden who comes out to draw, to whom I will say, I beseech you, give me a little water from your pitcher to drink, ⁴⁴ and she will say to me, Both drink you and I will also draw for your camels, let her be the woman whom Jehovah has appointed for my master's son.
⁴⁵ And before I was done speaking in my heart, behold, Rebekah came out with her pitcher on her shoulder. And she went down to the fountain and drew. And I said to her, Let me drink, I beseech you. ⁴⁶ And she made haste and let down her pitcher from her shoulder and said, Drink and I will also give your camels drink. So I drank and she also made the camels drink.
⁴⁷ And I asked her and said, Whose daughter are you? And she said, The daughter of Bethuel, Nahor's son, whom Milcah bore to him. And I put the ring upon her nose and the bracelets upon her hands. ⁴⁸ And I bowed my head and worshiped Jehovah and blessed Jehovah, the God of my master Abraham, who had led me in the right way to take my master's brother's daughter for his son. ⁴⁹ And now if you* will deal kindly and truly with my master, tell me. And if not, tell me, that I may turn to the right hand, or to the left.
⁵⁰ Then Laban and Bethuel answered and said, The thing proceeds from Jehovah; we cannot speak to you bad or good. ⁵¹ Behold, Rebekah is before you, take her and go and let her be your master's son's wife, as Jehovah has spoken.
⁵² And it happened, that, when Abraham's servant heard their words, he bowed himself down to the earth to Jehovah. ⁵³ And the servant brought out jewels of silver and jewels of gold and garments and gave them to Rebekah. He also gave precious things to her brother and to her mother. ⁵⁴ And they ate and drank, he and the men who were with him and stayed all night. And they rose up in the morning and he said, Send me away to my master.
⁵⁵ And her brother and her mother said, Let the maiden abide with us a few days, for at the least ten. After that she will go.
⁵⁶ And he said to them, Do not hinder me, since Jehovah has prospered my way. Send me away that I may go to my master. ⁵⁷ And they said, We will call the maiden and inquire at her mouth. ⁵⁸ And they called Rebekah and said to her, Will you go with this man?
And she said, I will go.
⁵⁹ And they sent Rebekah their sister away and her nurse and Abraham's servant and his men. ⁶⁰ And they blessed Rebekah and said to her, Our sister, you will be the mother of thousands of ten thousands and let your seed possess the gate of those who hate them. ⁶¹ And Rebekah arose and her maidens and they rode upon the camels and followed the man. And the servant took Rebekah and went his way.
⁶² And Isaac came from the way of Beer-lahai-roi, and he dwelt in the land of the South. ⁶³ And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the evening. And he lifted up his eyes and saw, and behold, there were camels coming. ⁶⁴ And Rebekah lifted up her eyes and when she saw Isaac, she fell from the camel. ⁶⁵ And she said to the servant, What man is this who walks in the field to meet us? And the servant said, It is my master. And she took her veil and covered herself.
⁶⁶ And the servant told Isaac all the things that he had done. ⁶⁷ And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent and took Rebekah and she became his wife and he loved her. And Isaac was comforted after his mother's death.

² And I will make of you a great nation and I will bless you and make your name great and you will be a blessing.

² And Abram was very heavy in riches, in cattle, in silver and in gold.

¹¹ Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age. It had ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women.

⁵ And Abraham was a hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born to him.

³⁵ And Jehovah has blessed my master greatly and he has become great. And he has given him flocks and herds and silver and gold and men-servants and maid-servants and camels and donkeys.

²⁰ And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to be his wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Paddan-aram, the sister of Laban the Syrian.

²⁵ even by the God of your father, who will help you and by the Almighty, who will bless you with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that couches beneath, blessings of the breasts and of the womb.

¹ Now king David was old and stricken in years and they covered him with clothes, but he did not get warm.

¹ Praise Jehovah. The man is fortunate who fears Jehovah, who delights greatly in his commandments. ² His seed will be mighty upon earth. The generation of the upright will be blessed.
³ Wealth and riches are in his house and his righteousness endures forever.

²² The blessing of Jehovah, it makes rich and he adds no sorrow with it.

² Look to Abraham your* father and to Sarah who bore you*. For when he was but one I called him and I blessed him and made him many.

³³ But first seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

⁷ And there was no child to them, insomuch as Elisabeth was barren, and they were both advanced in their days.

⁹ So-then those who are sons from faith are blessed together with the believing Abraham.

³ The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ is gracious, who has blessed us in every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

⁸ for bodily exercise is profitable for few things, but godliness is profitable for all things, having the promise of life the current one and the future one.

² And Abram said, O Lord Jehovah, what will you give me, since I go childless. And he who will be possessor of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?

⁹ And the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master and swore to him concerning this matter.
¹⁰ And the servant took ten camels, of the camels of his master and departed, having all good things of his master's in his hand. And he arose and went to Mesopotamia, to the city of Nahor.

⁴ And Joseph found favor in his sight and he ministered to him. And he made him overseer over his house and all that he had, he put into his hand.
⁵ And it happened from the time that he made him overseer in his house and over all that he had, that Jehovah blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake. And the blessing of Jehovah was upon all that he had, in the house and in the field. ⁶ And he left all that he had in Joseph's hand and he knew nothing that was with him, save the bread which he ate. And Joseph was handsome and fine-looking.

⁸ But he refused and said to his master's wife, Behold, my master does not know what is in the house with me and he has put all that he has into my hand. ⁹ He is not greater in this house than I, nor has he kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness and sin against God?

¹ And he commanded the steward of his house, saying, Fill the men's sacks with food, as much as they can carry and put every man's money in his sack's mouth.

²⁹ And the time drew near that Israel must die. And he called his son Joseph and said to him, If now I have found favor in your sight, I beseech you, put your hand under my thigh and deal kindly and truly with me. I beseech you, do not bury me in Egypt,

²⁴ And all the rulers and the mighty men and all the sons likewise of king David, submitted themselves to Solomon the king.

¹⁷ The elders who are governing well, let them be deemed worthy of double honor, especially those who are laboring in the word and in teaching.

² that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair. And they took to them wives of all that they chose.

⁴ The giants were on the earth in those days. And also after that, when the sons of God came to the daughters of men and they bore sons to them, they were the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown.

¹⁵ And Canaan fathered Sidon his firstborn and Heth ¹⁶ and the Jebusite and the Amorite and the Girgashite ¹⁷ and the Hivite and the Arkite and the Sinite ¹⁸ and the Arvadite and the Zemarite and the Hamathite. And afterward the Canaanite family were spread abroad. ¹⁹ And the border of the Canaanite was from Sidon, as you go toward Gerar, to Gaza, as you go toward Sodom and Gomorrah and Admah and Zeboiim, to Lasha.

¹⁹ And he blessed him and said, Abram be blessed from God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth.

²² And Abram said to the King of Sodom, I have lifted up my hand to Jehovah, God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth,

²³ Now therefore swear to me here by God that you will not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son's son. But according to the kindness that I have done to you, you will do to me and to the land in which you have traveled.

²⁸ And they said, We saw plainly that Jehovah was with you. And we said, Let there now be an oath between us, even between us and you. And let us make a covenant with you, ²⁹ that you will do us no evil, as we have not touched you and as we have done to you nothing but good and have sent you away in peace. You now are the blessed of Jehovah.
³⁰ And he made a feast for them and they ate and drank. ³¹ And they rose up promptly in the morning and swore one to another. And Isaac sent them away and they departed from him in peace.

³⁴ And when Esau was forty years old he took a wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite and Basemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite. ³⁵ And they were a bitterness of spirit to Isaac and to Rebekah.

⁴⁶ And Rebekah said to Isaac, I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth. If Jacob takes a wife of the daughters of Heth, those like these, of the daughters of the land, what good will my life do me?

⁸ And Esau saw that the daughters of Canaan did not please Isaac his father.

⁴⁴ And now come, let us make a covenant, I and you and let it be for a witness between me and you.
⁴⁵ And Jacob took a stone and lifted it up for a pillar. ⁴⁶ And Jacob said to his brothers, Gather stones and they took stones and made a heap. And they ate there by the heap. ⁴⁷ And Laban called it Jegar-sahadutha.
⁴⁸ And Laban said, This heap is witness between me and you this day. Therefore the name of it was called Galeed, ⁴⁹ and Mizpah. For he said, May Jehovah watch between me and you, when we are absent one from another, ⁵⁰ if you will afflict my daughters and if you will take wives besides my daughters, no man is with us, see, God is witness between me and you.
⁵¹ And Laban said to Jacob, Behold this heap and behold the pillar, which I have set between me and you. ⁵² This heap is witness and the pillar is witness, that I will not pass over this heap to you and that you will not pass over this heap and this pillar for harm to me. ⁵³ The God of Abraham and the God of Nahor, the God of their father, judge between us. And Jacob swore by the fear of his father Isaac.

²⁵ And Joseph took an oath of the sons of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you* and you* will carry up my bones from here.

⁷ You will not take the name of Jehovah your God in vain, because Jehovah will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.

¹¹ the oath of Jehovah will be between them both, whether he has not put his hand to his neighbor's goods. And the owner of it will accept it and he will not make restitution.

¹³ And in all things that I have said to you* take you* heed and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of your mouth.

¹⁶ and you take of their daughters to your sons and their daughters play the prostitute after their gods and make your sons play the prostitute after their gods.

¹² And you* will not swear by my name falsely and profane the name of your God. I am Jehovah.

²¹ then the priest will cause the woman to swear with the oath of cursing and the priest will say to the woman, Jehovah make you a curse and an oath among your people when Jehovah makes your thigh to fall away and your body to swell.

¹³ You will fear Jehovah your God and him you will serve and will swear by his name.

³ Neither will you make marriages with them. Your daughter you will not give to his son, nor his daughter will you take to your son. ⁴ For he will turn away your son from following me, that they may serve other gods, so the anger of Jehovah will be kindled against you* and he will destroy you quickly.

²⁰ You will fear Jehovah your God. Him you will serve and to him you will cling and by his name you will swear.

¹² Now therefore, I beseech you*, swear to me by Jehovah, since I have dealt kindly with you*, that you* also will deal kindly with my father's house and give me a true token,

¹⁷ And Jonathan caused David to swear again, for the love that he had to him. For he loved him as he loved his own soul.

¹⁵ And Hezekiah prayed before Jehovah and said, O Jehovah, the God of Israel, who sits above the cherubim, you are the God, even you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth.

¹² Huram said moreover, Praise Jehovah, the God of Israel, that made heaven and earth, who has given to David the king a wise son, endued with discretion and understanding, that should build a house for Jehovah and a house for his kingdom.

⁶ You are Jehovah, even you alone, you have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and all things that are on it, the seas and all that is in them and you preserve them all. And the host of heaven worships you.

²⁵ And I contended with them and cursed them and killed* certain of them and plucked off their hair and made them swear by God, saying, You* will not give your* daughters to their sons, nor take their daughters for your* sons, or for yourselves.

¹⁵ Blessed are you* of Jehovah who made heaven and earth.

²³ I have sworn by myself, the word has gone forth from my mouth in righteousness and will not return, that to me every knee will bow, every tongue will confess to God.

¹ Hear this, O house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel and have come forth out of the waters of Judah, who swear by the name of Jehovah and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness

¹⁶ so that he who graces himself in the earth will bless himself in the God of truth and he who swears in the earth will swear by the God of truth. Because the former troubles are forgotten and because they are hid from my eyes.

² And you will swear, As Jehovah lives, in truth, in justice and in righteousness. And the nations will bless themselves in him and in him they will glory.

¹¹ Thus you* will say to them: The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, these will perish from the earth and from under the heavens.

¹⁶ And it will happen, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, As Jehovah lives, even as they taught my people to swear by Baal, then they will be built up in the midst of my people.

⁵ and those who worship the host of heaven upon the housetops and those who worship, who swear to Jehovah and swear by Malcam,

³⁹ A wife has been bound by law inasmuch time as the husband is living, but if the husband has fallen-asleep, she is free to be married to whom she wills, but only in the Lord.

¹⁴ Do not become unequally yoked with unbelieving ones; for what partnership has righteousness and lawlessness? And what fellowship has light with darkness? ¹⁵ And what agreement has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with unbelieving ones? ¹⁶ And what alliance has a temple of God with idols? For you are a temple of the living God; just-as God said, ‘I will be dwelling among them and will be walking among them, and I will be their God and they will be a people to me.’ ¹⁷ Hence ‘Come out from the midst of them and be separate,’says the Lord, ‘And touch no unclean thing, and I will accept you\super\'b0

¹⁶ For indeed, men swear according to the greater and the oath made for confirmation is an end in every dispute of theirs.

²⁵ And Nahor lived a hundred and nineteen years after he fathered Terah and fathered more sons and daughters.

⁷ And Jehovah appeared to Abram and said, I will give this land to your seed. And there he built an altar to Jehovah, who appeared to him.

²⁰ And it happened after these things, that it was told to Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah, she has also borne sons to your brother Nahor: ²¹ Uz his first born and Buz his brother and Kemuel the father of Aram, ²² and Chesed and Hazo and Pildash and Jidlaph and Bethuel. ²³ And Bethuel fathered Rebekah. These eight Milcah bore to Nahor, Abraham's brother.

² Arise, go to Paddan-aram, to the house of Bethuel your mother's father and take a wife from there of the daughters of Laban your mother's brother.

⁵⁸ And they called Rebekah and said to her, Will you go with this man?
And she said, I will go.

² For if you refuse to let them go and will still hold them,

¹⁶ Every prudent man works with knowledge, but a fool flaunts folly.

¹ Therefore stand-firm in the freedom in which Christ made us free, and do not be held again in a yoke of bondage.

³⁹ But we are not from this retreating back leading to destruction, but we are from the faith leading to the preservation of the soul.

⁹ In faith, he sojourned in the land of promise, as an alien, having dwelt in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the joint heirs of the same promise.

¹³ These all died according to faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them and having greeted them from farther out and having confessed that they are strangers and travelers upon the earth. ¹⁴ For those who are saying such things are disclosing that they are seeking after a fatherland. ¹⁵ And if they were indeed remembering that region from which they went out, they would have had an opportunity to revisit. ¹⁶ But now they are aspiring for themselves to a better region, this thing is a heavenly one. Hence God is not ashamed of them, to be called their God; for he has prepared a city for them.

²⁰ For if, having fled away from the defilements of the world in the full knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and having been again entangled, they are succumbed in these things, the last state has become worse to them than the first. ²¹ For it was better for them to have not known fully the way of righteousness, than to turn away from the holy commandment given to them after having fully known it. ²² But it has befallen to them as the way of the true proverb, ‘ The dog having turning again toward his own vomit,’and the sow that had fully-washed, to wallowing in the mud.

¹ Now Jehovah said to Abram, Go out of your country and from your kindred and from your father's house, to the land that I will show you. ² And I will make of you a great nation and I will bless you and make your name great and you will be a blessing. ³ And I will bless those who bless you and he who curses you I will curse. And all the families of the earth will be blessed in you.
⁴ So Abram went as Jehovah had spoken to him and Lot went with him. And Abram was a son of seventy-five years when he departed out of Haran. ⁵ And Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his brother's son and all their substance that they had gathered and the souls that they had gotten in Haran and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan. And they came into the land of Canaan. ⁶ And Abram passed through the land to the place of Shechem, to the oak of Moreh. And the Canaanite was in the land then.
⁷ And Jehovah appeared to Abram and said, I will give this land to your seed. And there he built an altar to Jehovah, who appeared to him.

¹⁵ For all the land which you see, to you I will give it and to your seed everlasting.

¹⁸ In that day Jehovah made a covenant with Abram, saying, To your seed I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates:

⁸ And I will give to you and to your seed after you, the land of your travels, all the land of Canaan for an everlasting possession and I will be their God.

¹⁶ and said, I have sworn by myself, says Jehovah, because you have done this thing and have not withheld your son, your only son, ¹⁷ that in blessing I will bless you and in multiplying I will multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is upon the sea _shore and your seed will possess the gate of his enemies ¹⁸ and in your seed will all the nations of the earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed my voice.

³ Travel in this land and I will be with you and will bless you. For to you and to your seed, I will give all these lands and I will establish the oath that I swore to Abraham your father. ⁴ And I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven and will give to your seed all these lands and in your seed all the nations of the earth will be blessed,

²⁴ And Jehovah appeared to him the same night and said, I am the God of Abraham your father. Do not fear, because I am with you and will bless you and multiply your seed for my servant Abraham's sake.

⁵ And it will be, when Jehovah will bring you into the land of the Canaanite and the Hittite and the Amorite and the Hivite and the Jebusite, which he swore to your fathers to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey, that you will keep this service in this month.

²⁰ Behold, I send a messenger before you, to keep you by the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared. ²¹ You* take heed before him and listen to his voice, provoke him not. For he will not pardon your* transgression, because my name is in him.
²² But if you will indeed listen to his voice and do all that I speak, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries. ²³ For my messenger will go before you and bring you in to the Amorite and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Canaanite, the Hivite and the Jebusite and I will cut them off.

¹³ Remember Abraham, Isaac and Israel, your servants, to whom you swore by your own self and said to them, I will multiply your* seed as the stars of heaven. And all this land that I have spoken of I will give to your* seed and they will inherit it everlasting.

² And I will send a messenger before you and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite and the Hittite and the Perizzite, the Hivite and the Jebusite–

¹⁶ Because Jehovah was not able to bring this people into the land which he swore to them, therefore he has slain them in the wilderness.

³⁰ surely you* will not come into the land, concerning which I swore that I would make you* dwell in it, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun.

¹¹ Surely none of the men who came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, will see the land which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob; because they have not entirely followed me,

⁸ Behold, I have set the land before you*. Go in and possess the land which Jehovah swore to your* fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob, to give to them and to their seed after them.

⁴ And Jehovah said to him, This is the land which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob, saying, I will give it to your seed. I have caused you to see it with your eyes, but you will not go over there.

⁶ Be strong and of good courage, for you will cause this people to inherit the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.

¹ And the messenger of Jehovah came up from Gilgal to Bochim. And he said, I made you* go up out of Egypt and have brought you* to the land which I swore to your* fathers. And I said, I will not break my everlasting covenant with you*.

² Thus says Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth has Jehovah, the God of heaven, given me and he has charged me to build him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah.

⁸ I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you will go. I will counsel you with my eye upon you.

⁷ The messenger of Jehovah encamps all around those who fear him and delivers them.

²⁴ You will guide me with your counsel and afterward receive me to glory.

²⁰ Praise Jehovah, you* his messengers, who are mighty in strength, who fulfill his word, listening to the voice of his word.

⁵ Trust in Jehovah with all your heart and do not lean upon your own understanding. ⁶ Acknowledge him in all your ways and he will direct your paths.

⁹ In all their affliction he was afflicted and the messenger of his presence saved them. In his love and in his pity he redeemed them. And he bore them and carried them all the days of old.

⁴⁴ And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will the sovereignty of it be left to another people, but it will break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms and it will stand forever.

⁹ And he said to them, I am a Hebrew and I fear Jehovah, the God of heaven, who has made the sea and the dry land.

⁵ And he gave him no inheritance in it, not even a step of his foot, and he promised to give it to him and to his seed after him for his territory, even when there was no child yet to him.

¹⁴ Are they not all ministering spirits, being sent forth into service because of those who are about to inherit salvation?

¹³ And in that day there became a great earthquake and the tenth part of the city fell, and the names of seven thousand men were killed in the earthquake and the rest became fearful and gave glory to the God of heaven.

⁴ But you will go to my country and to my kindred and take a wife for my son Isaac.
⁵ And the servant said to him, Perhaps the woman will not be willing to follow me to this land. Must I bring your son again to the land from where you came? ⁶ And Abraham said to him, You beware that you not bring my son there again.

⁵ But if her father disallows her in the day that he hears, none of her vows, or of her bonds with which she has bound her soul, will stand. And Jehovah will forgive her, because her father disallowed her.

⁸ But if her husband disallows her in the day that he hears it, then he will make void her vow which is upon her and the rash utterance of her lips, with which she has bound her soul. And Jehovah will forgive her.

¹⁷ And the men said to her, We will be guiltless of this your oath which you have made us to swear. ¹⁸ Behold, when we come into the land, you will bind this line of scarlet cord in the window which you let us down by. And you will gather to you into the house your father and your mother and your brothers and all your father's household.
¹⁹ And it will be, that whoever will go out of the doors of your house into the street, his blood will be upon his head and we will be guiltless. And whoever will be with you in the house, his blood will be on our head if any hand be upon him. ²⁰ But if you utter this our business, then we will be guiltless of your oath which you have made us to swear.

²⁰ This we will do to them and let them live, lest wrath be upon us because of the oath which we swore to them.

³² and you will know the truth and the truth will be making you free.

² Now he said, Brethren and fathers, listen : the God of glory appeared to our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Haran,

² And Abraham said to his servant, the elder of his house, who ruled over all that he had, I beseech you, put your hand under my thigh.

³¹ And Terah took Abram his son and Lot the son of Haran, his son's son and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram's wife. And they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldeans, to go into the land of Canaan. And they came to Haran and dwelt there.

⁴³ Now therefore, my son, obey my voice and arise, flee to Laban my brother to Haran.

¹ Then Jacob went on his journey and came to the land of the sons of the east.

⁴ And Jacob said to them, My brothers, where are you* from? And they said, We are of Haran. ⁵ And he said to them, Do you* know Laban the son of Nahor? And they said, We know him.

²² And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph's hand all the prisoners who were in the prison. And whatever they did there, he was the doer of it. ²³ The keeper of the prison did not look to anything that was under his hand, because Jehovah was with him and what he did, Jehovah made it prosper.

⁴ because they met you* not with bread and with water on the way, when you* came forth out of Egypt and because they hired against you Balaam the son of Beor from Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse you.

⁸ Therefore the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Israel and he sold them into the hand of Cushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia, And the sons of Israel served Cushan-rishathaim eight years.
⁹ And when the sons of Israel cried to Jehovah, Jehovah raised up a savior to the sons of Israel, who saved them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother. ¹⁰ And the Spirit of Jehovah came upon him and he judged Israel. And he went out to war and Jehovah delivered Cushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand and his hand prevailed against Cushan-rishathaim.

⁶ And when the sons of Ammon saw that they had made themselves stink to David, Hanun and the sons of Ammon sent a thousand talants of silver to hire for them chariots and horsemen out of Mesopotamia, and out of Aram-maacah and out of Zobah.

⁹ Parthians and Medes and Elamites and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, in Judea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus and Asia,

¹³ Behold, I am standing by the fountain of water. And the daughters of the men of the city are coming out to draw water. ¹⁴ And let it happen, that the maiden to whom I will say, I beseech you, let down your pitcher, that I may drink.
And she will say, Drink and I will also give your camels drink. Let it be her, the one you have appointed for your servant Isaac. And I will know that you have shown kindness to my master by this.
¹⁵ And it happened, before he was done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel the son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder. ¹⁶ And the maiden was very fair to look upon, a virgin, no man had known her. And she went down to the fountain and filled her pitcher and came up.
¹⁷ And the servant ran to meet her and said, I beseech you, give me a little water to drink from your pitcher. ¹⁸ And she said, Drink, my lord. And she hurried and let down her pitcher upon her hand and gave him drink. ¹⁹ And when she had finished giving him drink, she said, I will also draw for your camels, until they have done drinking. ²⁰ And she hurried and emptied her pitcher into the trough and ran again to the well to draw and drew for all his camels.

¹³ And he said to him, My lord knows that the children are tender and that the flocks and herds with me have their young and if they overdrive them one day, all the flocks will die. ¹⁴ I beseech you, let my lord pass over before his servant and I will lead on gently, according to the pace of the cattle that are before me and according to the pace of the children, until I come to my lord to Seir.

¹⁶ Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters. And they came and drew water and filled the troughs to water their father's flock.

¹¹ As they went up the ascent to the city, they found young maidens going out to draw water and said to them, Is the seer here?

¹⁰ A righteous man regards the life of his beast, but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

⁷ A woman from Samaria comes to dip-out water. Jesus says to her, Give to me some water to drink.

¹ After these things the word of Jehovah came to Abram in a vision, saying, Do not fear, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.

⁷ And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your seed after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God to you and to your seed after you. ⁸ And I will give to you and to your seed after you, the land of your travels, all the land of Canaan for an everlasting possession and I will be their God.

²⁷ And he said, Praise Jehovah, the God of my master Abraham, who has not forsaken his loving kindness and his truth toward my master, I being in the way, Jehovah has led me to the house of my master's brothers.

⁴² And I came this day to the fountain and said, O Jehovah, the God of my master Abraham, I pray, if you will, prosper the way on which I am now going,

⁴⁸ And I bowed my head and worshiped Jehovah and blessed Jehovah, the God of my master Abraham, who had led me in the right way to take my master's brother's daughter for his son.

¹⁰ And you will bring it to your father, that he may eat, so that he may bless you before his death.

²⁰ And Isaac said to his son, How is it that you have found it so quickly, my son? And he said, Because Jehovah your God brought it before me.

¹³ And behold, Jehovah stood above it and said, I am Jehovah, the God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac. The land on which you lie, to you I will give it and to your seed.

⁴² Unless the God of my father, the God of Abraham and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely now you would have sent me away empty. God has seen my affliction and the labor of my hands and rebuked you last night.

⁹ And Jacob said, O God of my father Abraham and God of my father Isaac, O Jehovah, who said to me, Return to your country and to your kindred and I will do good things with you,

¹⁴ And God Almighty give you* mercy before the man, that he may release to you* your* other brother and Benjamin. And if I be bereaved of my sons, I am bereaved.

⁶ Moreover he said, I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look upon God.

¹⁵ And God said moreover to Moses, Thus you will say to the sons of Israel, Jehovah, the God of your* fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you*. This is my name everlasting and this is my memorial to all generations.

³⁶ And it happened at the time of the offering of the evening oblation, that Elijah the prophet came near and said, O Jehovah, the God of Abraham, of Isaac and of Israel, let it be known this day that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and that I have done all these things at your word.

¹⁴ And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him and struck the waters and said, Where is Jehovah, the God of Elijah? And when he also had struck the waters, they were divided here and there and Elisha went over.

¹¹ O Lord, I beseech you, let now your ear be attentive to the prayer of your servant and to the prayer of your servants, who delight to fear your name, and I beseech you, prosper your servant this day and grant him mercy in the sight of this man.
Now I was cupbearer to the king.

⁴ Then the king said to me, For what do you make request? So I prayed to the God of heaven.

⁵ Commit your way to Jehovah. Trust also in him and he will do it.

¹⁶ Let your work appear to your servants and your glory upon their sons. ¹⁷ And let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us. And establish the work of our hands upon us, yes, the work of our hands establish it.

²⁵ Save now, we beseech you, O Jehovah. O Jehovah, we beseech you, send now prosperity.

⁶ Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. They will prosper who love you.

¹ Unless Jehovah builds the house, they labor in vain who build it. Unless Jehovah guards the city, the watchman wake but in vain.

⁶ Acknowledge him in all your ways and he will direct your paths.

³² I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

⁶ Be anxious in nothing, but in everything, let your requests be made known to God by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving.

¹⁰ exceptionally beseeching God night and day, that we may see your face and may mend the things lacking of your faith.
¹¹ Now may our God and Father himself and our Lord Jesus Christ, steer our way toward you.

¹¹ And he made the camels to kneel down outside the city by the well of water at the time of evening, the time that women go out to draw water.

⁴³ behold, I am standing by the fountain of water and let it happen, that the maiden who comes out to draw, to whom I will say, I beseech you, give me a little water from your pitcher to drink,

⁹ While he was yet speaking with them, Rachel came with her father's sheep, becauses he kept them.
¹⁰ And it happened, when Jacob saw Rachel the daughter of Laban his mother's brother and the sheep of Laban his mother's brother, that Jacob went near and rolled the stone from the well's mouth and watered the flock of Laban his mother's brother.

¹¹ Far from the noise of archers, in the places of drawing water, there they will rehearse the righteous acts of Jehovah, the righteous acts of his rule in Israel. Then the people of Jehovah went down to the gates.

⁸ And he said, O Lord Jehovah, how will I know that I will inherit it?

⁴⁴ and she will say to me, Both drink you and I will also draw for your camels, let her be the woman whom Jehovah has appointed for my master's son.

¹ And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor listen to my voice, because they will say, Jehovah has not appeared to you.
² And Jehovah said to him, What is that in your hand? And he said, A rod. ³ And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground. And it became a serpent and Moses fled from before it. ⁴ And Jehovah said to Moses, Put forth your hand and take it by the tail (and he put forth his hand and laid hold of it and it became a rod in his hand), ⁵ that they may believe that Jehovah, the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you.
⁶ And Jehovah said furthermore to him, Put now your hand into your bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom. And when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous, as snow. ⁷ And he said, Put your hand into your bosom again. And he put his hand into his bosom again and when he took it out of his bosom, behold, it was turned again as his other flesh.
⁸ And it will happen, if they will not believe you, nor listen to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign. ⁹ And it will happen, if they will not believe even these two signs, nor listen to your voice, that you will take of the water of the river and pour it upon the dry land. And the water which you take out of the river will become blood upon the dry land.

¹⁷ And he said to him, If now I have found favor in your sight, then show me a sign that it is you who talk with me.

³⁷ behold, I will put a fleece of wool on the threshing-floor. If there is dew on the fleece only and it is dry upon all the ground, then I will know that you will save Israel by my hand as you have spoken.

¹³ And when Gideon came, behold, there was a man telling a dream to his fellow. And he said, Behold, I dreamed a dream. And behold, a cake of barley bread tumbled into the camp of Midian and came to the tent and killed* it so that it fell and turned it upside down so that the tent lay flat. ¹⁴ And his fellow answered and said, This is nothing else except the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel. Into his hand God has delivered Midian and all the army.
¹⁵ And it was so, when Gideon heard the telling of the dream and the interpretation of it, that he worshiped. And he returned into the camp of Israel and said, Arise, for Jehovah has delivered the army of Midian into your* hand.

⁵ And they said to him, Please ask counsel from God, that we may know whether our way which we go will be prosperous.

⁷ Now therefore take and prepare for you* a new cart and two milk cows on which there has come no yoke. And tie the cows to the cart and bring their calves home from them. ⁸ And take the ark of Jehovah and lay it upon the cart. And put the jewels of gold, which you* return to him for a trespass offering, in a coffer by the side of it and send it away, that it may go.
⁹ And watch. If it goes up by the way of its own border to Beth-shemesh, then he has done to us this great evil, but if not, then we will know that it is not his hand that killed* us; it was a chance that happened to us.

² When you have departed from me today, then you will find two men by Rachel's sepulcher in the border of Benjamin at Zelzah. And they will say to you, The donkeys which you went to seek are found, and behold, your father has left off caring for the donkeys and is anxious for you*, saying, What shall I do for my son?
³ Then you will go on forward from there and you will come to the oak of Tabor. And there will meet you there three men going up to God to Bethel, one carrying three kids and another carrying three loaves of bread and another carrying a jug of wine. ⁴ And they will salute you and give you two loaves of bread, which you will receive from their hand.
⁵ After that you will come to the hill of God where is the garrison of the Philistines. And it will happen, when you have come there to the city, that you will meet a band of prophets coming down from the high place with a psaltery and a timbrel and a pipe and a harp, before them and they will be prophesying.
⁶ And the Spirit of Jehovah will come mightily upon you and you will prophesy with them and will be turned into another man.
⁷ And let it be, when these signs have come to you, that you do as occasion will serve you, for God is with you. ⁸ And you will go down before me to Gilgal. And behold, I will come down to you, to offer burnt offerings and to sacrifice sacrifices of peace offerings. You will abide seven days till I come to you and show you what you will do.
⁹ And it was so, that, when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave him another heart. And all those signs happened that day. ¹⁰ And when they came there to the hill, behold, a band of prophets met him. And the Spirit of God came mightily upon him and he prophesied among them.

⁸ Then Jonathan said, Behold, we will pass over to the men and we will disclose ourselves to them. ⁹ If they say thus to us, Abide until we come to you*, then we will stand still in our place and will not go up to them. ¹⁰ But if they say thus, Come up to us, then we will go up, for Jehovah has delivered them into our hand and this will be the sign to us.

⁷ If he says thus, It is well. Your servant will have peace. But if he is angry, then know that evil is determined by him.

²⁴ And it will be, when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then you will move yourself, for then Jehovah has gone out before you to kill* the army of the Philistines.

⁹ And Joab said to Amasa, Is it well with you, my brother? And Joab took Amasa by the beard with his right hand to kiss him.

⁸ And Hezekiah said to Isaiah, What will be the sign that Jehovah will heal me and that I will go up to the house of Jehovah the third day? ⁹ And Isaiah said, This will be the sign to you from Jehovah, that Jehovah will do the thing that he has spoken: Shall the shadow go forward ten steps, or go back ten steps? ¹⁰ And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to go forward ten steps. No, but let the shadow return backward ten steps. ¹¹ And Isaiah the prophet cried to Jehovah and he brought the shadow ten steps backward, by which it had gone down on the dial of Ahaz.

¹⁴ House and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from Jehovah.

¹¹ Ask you a sign of Jehovah your God, ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.

¹⁰ I beseech God always in my prayers, if somehow now, I will be prospered in the will of God to come to you someday,

²⁷ Now these are the genealogies of Terah were : Terah fathered Abram, Nahor and Haran. And Haran fathered Lot.

²⁹ And Abram and Nahor took wives to themselves. The name of Abram's wife was Sarai and the name of Nahor's wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah and the father of Iscah.

¹⁴ And Abraham rose up early in the morning and took bread and a skin-container of water and gave them to Hagar, putting them on her shoulder and the child and sent her away. And she departed and wandered in the wilderness of Beer-sheba.

²⁴ And she said to him, I am the daughter of Bethuel the son of Milcah, whom she bore to Nahor.

⁴⁵ And before I was done speaking in my heart, behold, Rebekah came out with her pitcher on her shoulder. And she went down to the fountain and drew. And I said to her, Let me drink, I beseech you.

⁹ While he was yet speaking with them, Rachel came with her father's sheep, becauses he kept them.

³⁶ And Gideon said to God, If you will save Israel by my hand, as you have spoken, ³⁷ behold, I will put a fleece of wool on the threshing-floor. If there is dew on the fleece only and it is dry upon all the ground, then I will know that you will save Israel by my hand as you have spoken. ³⁸ And it was so, for he rose up early on the morrow and pressed the fleece together and wrung the dew out of the fleece, a bowlful of water.
³⁹ And Gideon said to God, Do not let your anger be kindled against me and I will speak but this once. I beseech you, let me make a trial but this once with the fleece. Let it now be dry only upon the fleece and upon all the ground let there be dew. ⁴⁰ And God did so that night, for it was dry upon the fleece only and there was dew on all the ground.

² And Ruth the Moabitess said to Naomi, Let me now go to the field and glean among the ears of grain after him in whose sight I will find favor. And she said to her, Go, my daughter.

¹⁷ So she gleaned in the field until evening. And she beat out what she had gleaned and it was about an ephah of barley.

¹⁵ The eyes of Jehovah are toward the righteous and his ears are open to their prayer.

² O you who hear prayer, all flesh will come to you.

¹⁸ Jehovah is near to all those who call upon him, to all who call upon him in truth.
¹⁹ He will fulfill the desire of those who fear him. He also will hear their cry and will save them.

²⁷ She looks well to the traveling of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.

⁹ Then you will call and Jehovah will answer, you will cry and he will say, Here I am. If you take the yoke away from the midst of you, the putting forth of the finger and speaking wickedly,

²⁴ And it will happen that, before they call, I will answer and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

²⁰ And while I was speaking and praying and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel and presenting my supplication before Jehovah my God for the holy mountain of my God, ²¹ yes, while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation.
²² And he instructed me and talked with me and said, O Daniel, I have now come out to give you wisdom and understanding. ²³ At the beginning of your supplications the commandment went forth and I have come to tell you, for you are a great delight. Therefore consider the matter and understand the vision.

¹ And the man knew Eve his wife and she conceived and bore Cain and said, I have gotten a man with the help of Jehovah.

⁷ And the men of the place asked him of his wife. And he said, She is my sister. For he feared to say, My wife. Lest, the men of the place should kill me for Rebekah, because she was fair to look upon.

⁶ And he left all that he had in Joseph's hand and he knew nothing that was with him, save the bread which he ate. And Joseph was handsome and fine-looking.

¹⁷ Now therefore kill every male among the little ones and kill every woman that has known man by lying with him. ¹⁸ But all the girls, who have not known man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.

² I was asleep, but my heart awoke. It is the voice of my beloved who knocks, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled. For my head is filled with dew, my locks with the drops of the night.

¹ And there was a famine in the land, besides the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went to Abimelech King of the Philistines, to Gerar. ² And Jehovah appeared to him and said, Do not go down into Egypt. Dwell in the land which I will tell you of. ³ Travel in this land and I will be with you and will bless you. For to you and to your seed, I will give all these lands and I will establish the oath that I swore to Abraham your father. ⁴ And I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven and will give to your seed all these lands and in your seed all the nations of the earth will be blessed, ⁵ because Abraham obeyed my voice and kept my order, my commandments, my statutes and my laws.
⁶ And Isaac dwelt in Gerar. ⁷ And the men of the place asked him of his wife. And he said, She is my sister. For he feared to say, My wife. Lest, the men of the place should kill me for Rebekah, because she was fair to look upon. ⁸ And it happened, when he had been there a long time, that Abimelech King of the Philistines looked out at a window and saw; and behold, Isaac was playing with Rebekah his wife.
⁹ And Abimelech called Isaac and said, Behold, she is certainly your wife and how did you say, She is my sister? And Isaac said to him, Because I said, Lest I die because of her. ¹⁰ And Abimelech said, What is this you have done to us? One of the people might easily have lain with your wife and you would have brought guilt upon us. ¹¹ And Abimelech ordered all the people, saying, He who touches this man or his wife will surely be put to death.
¹² And Isaac sowed in that land and found a hundredfold in the same year. And Jehovah blessed him. ¹³ And the man became great and grew more and more until he became very great. ¹⁴ And he had possessions of flocks and possessions of herds and a great household. And the Philistines envied him.
¹⁵ Now all the wells which his father's servants had dug in the days of Abraham his father, the Philistines had stopped and filled with soil. ¹⁶ And Abimelech said to Isaac, Go from us, because you are much mightier than we. ¹⁷ And Isaac departed from there and encamped in the valley of Gerar and dwelt there.
¹⁸ And Isaac again dug the wells of water, which they had dug in the days of Abraham his father. For the Philistines had stopped them after the death of Abraham. And he called their names after the names by which his father had called them. ¹⁹ And Isaac's servants dug in the valley and found there a well of springing water.
²⁰ And the herdsmen of Gerar contended with Isaac's herdsmen, saying, The water is ours. And he called the name of the well Esek, because they contended with him. ²¹ And they dug another well and they contended for that also. And he called the name of it Sitnah.
²² And he moved from there and dug another well and they did not contend for that. And he called the name of it Rehoboth. And he said, For now Jehovah has made room for us and we will be fruitful in the land. ²³ And he went up from there to Beer-sheba.
²⁴ And Jehovah appeared to him the same night and said, I am the God of Abraham your father. Do not fear, because I am with you and will bless you and multiply your seed for my servant Abraham's sake. ²⁵ And he built an altar there and called upon the name of Jehovah and pitched his tent there. And Isaac's servants dug a well there.
²⁶ Then Abimelech went to him from Gerar and Ahuzzath his friend and Phicol the captain of his army. ²⁷ And Isaac said to them, Why have you* come to me, seeing you* hate me and have sent me away from you*?
²⁸ And they said, We saw plainly that Jehovah was with you. And we said, Let there now be an oath between us, even between us and you. And let us make a covenant with you, ²⁹ that you will do us no evil, as we have not touched you and as we have done to you nothing but good and have sent you away in peace. You now are the blessed of Jehovah.
³⁰ And he made a feast for them and they ate and drank. ³¹ And they rose up promptly in the morning and swore one to another. And Isaac sent them away and they departed from him in peace.
³² And it happened in the same day, that Isaac's servants came and told him concerning the well which they had dug and said to him, We have found water. ³³ And he called it Shibah to this day.

¹⁰ So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow was there gathering sticks. And he called to her and said, I beseech you, fetch me a little water in a vessel that I may drink.

¹⁴ To him who was thirsty they brought water. The inhabitants of the land of Tema met the fugitives with their bread.

²⁵ And there will be upon every lofty mountain and upon every high hill, brooks and streams of waters, in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.

⁶ Then the lame man will leap as a male-deer and the tongue of the mute will sing. For waters in the wilderness will break out and streams in the desert. ⁷ And the glowing sand will become a pool and the thirsty ground springs of water. In the habitation of jackals, where they lay, will be grass with reeds and rushes.

¹⁷ The poor and needy seek water and there is none and their tongue fails for thirst. I, Jehovah, will answer them. I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them. ¹⁸ I will open rivers on the bare heights and fountains in the midst of the valleys. I will make the wilderness a pool of water and the dry land springs of water.

¹⁰ They will not hunger nor thirst, neither will the heat nor sun kill* them. For he who has mercy on them will lead them. He will guide them even by springs of water.

⁹ Therefore the Samaritan woman says to him, How is it that you, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, who is a Samaritan woman? (For Jews have no dealings together with Samaritans.)

¹⁴ And let it happen, that the maiden to whom I will say, I beseech you, let down your pitcher, that I may drink.
And she will say, Drink and I will also give your camels drink. Let it be her, the one you have appointed for your servant Isaac. And I will know that you have shown kindness to my master by this.

²⁶ She opens her mouth with wisdom and the law of kindness is on her tongue.

⁸ Now to the end, all be like-minded, sympathetic, loving the brethren, affectionate, friendly;

⁸ But before all things, having the intense love for yourselves, because love will hide a multitude of sins. ⁹ Be hospitable to one another without murmurings;

⁴⁵ And before I was done speaking in my heart, behold, Rebekah came out with her pitcher on her shoulder. And she went down to the fountain and drew. And I said to her, Let me drink, I beseech you. ⁴⁶ And she made haste and let down her pitcher from her shoulder and said, Drink and I will also give your camels drink. So I drank and she also made the camels drink.

⁹ Be hospitable to one another without murmurings;

¹² And he said, O Jehovah, the God of my master Abraham, I beseech you, cause her to meet before me this day and show kindness to my master Abraham.

⁵⁶ And he said to them, Do not hinder me, since Jehovah has prospered my way. Send me away that I may go to my master.

¹⁸ Then David the king went in and sat before Jehovah. And he said, Who am I, O lord Jehovah and what is my house, that you have brought me thus far? ¹⁹ And this was yet a small thing in your eyes, O lord Jehovah, but you have spoken also of your servant's house for a great while to come and this too according to the manner of men, O lord Jehovah!
²⁰ And what can David say more to you? For you know your servant, O lord Jehovah.

¹ I will praise Jehovah at all times. His praise will continually be in my mouth. ² My soul will make its boast in Jehovah. The humble will hear of it and be glad. ³ O magnify Jehovah with me and let us exalt his name together.
⁴ I sought Jehovah and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. ⁵ They looked to him and were radiant and their faces will never be confounded.
⁶ This poor man cried and Jehovah heard him and saved him out of all his troubles.

¹ O give thanks to Jehovah. Because he is good, because his loving kindness is everlasting.

⁸ O that men would praise Jehovah for his loving kindness and for his wonderful works to the sons of men!

⁴³ He who is wise will give heed to these things and they will consider the loving kindnesses of Jehovah.

¹ I love Jehovah because he hears my voice and my supplications. ² Because he has inclined his ear to me, therefore I will call as long as I live.
³ The cords of death encompassed me and the pains of Sheol found me. I found trouble and sorrow. ⁴ Then I called upon the name of Jehovah. O Jehovah, I beseech you, deliver my soul.
⁵ Gracious is Jehovah and righteous. Yes, our God is merciful. ⁶ Jehovah preserves the simple. I was brought low and he saved me.
⁷ Return to your rest, O my soul, because Jehovah has dealt bountifully with you.

¹⁹ But Mary was keeping all these words to herself, pondering them in her heart.

⁵¹ And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and he was being subject to them and his mother was keeping all these words in her heart.

¹⁵ My lord, listen to me. A piece of land worth four hundred shekels of silver, what is that between me and you? Therefore bury your dead.
¹⁶ And Abraham listened to Ephron. And Abraham weighed the silver to Ephron that he had named in the audience of the sons of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, what passes with the merchant.

³⁰ And it happened, when he saw the ring and the bracelets upon his sister's hands and when he heard the words of Rebekah his sister, saying, Thus spoke the man to me, that he came to the man. And behold, he was standing by the camels at the fountain.

⁴⁷ And I asked her and said, Whose daughter are you? And she said, The daughter of Bethuel, Nahor's son, whom Milcah bore to him. And I put the ring upon her nose and the bracelets upon her hands.

² And Aaron said to them, Break off the golden rings, which are in the ears of your* wives, of your* sons and of your* daughters and bring them to me. ³ And all the people broke off the golden rings which were in their ears and brought them to Aaron.

¹ Now it happened on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel and stood in the inner court of the king's house, opposite the king's house. And the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, opposite the entrance of the house.

¹⁹ the pendants and the bracelets and the mufflers, ²⁰ the bonnets and the ankle chains and the sashes and the perfume-boxes and the amulets, ²¹ the rings and the nose-jewels, ²² the festival robes and the cloaks and the shawls and the satchels, ²³ the hand-mirrors and the fine linen and the turbans and the veils.

³² Can a virgin forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? Yet my people have forgotten me days without number.

¹¹ And I decked you with ornaments and I put bracelets upon your hands and a chain on your neck. ¹² And I put a ring upon your nose and earrings in your ears and a beautiful crown upon your head.

⁹ Likewise also, the women to adorn themselves in a respectable array, with modesty and self-discipline; not in hair braids or gold or pearls or costly garments; ¹⁰ but with what is suitable to women professing godliness through good works.

³ whose adornment, do not let it be the outward adornment of braiding the hair, and of placing on of gold things or of clothing of expensive garments;

²⁰ And it happened after these things, that it was told to Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah, she has also borne sons to your brother Nahor:

²³ And Bethuel fathered Rebekah. These eight Milcah bore to Nahor, Abraham's brother.

¹⁵ And it happened, before he was done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel the son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder.

⁴ Now let a little water be fetched and wash your* feet and rest yourselves under the tree. ⁵ And I will fetch a morsel of bread and strengthen your* heart. After that, you* will pass on, now that you* came to your* servant. And they said, Do so, as you have said.
⁶ And Abraham hastened into the tent to Sarah and said, Quickly, prepare three measures of fine meal, knead it and make cakes. ⁷ And Abraham ran to the herd and fetched a calf, tender and good and gave it to the servant. And he hastened to dress it. ⁸ And he took butter and milk and the calf which he had dressed and set it before them. And he stood by them under the tree and they ate.

¹⁹ Yet there is both straw and fodder for our donkeys and there is bread and wine also for me and for your handmaid and for the young man who is with your servants. There is no want of anything.
²⁰ And the old man said, Peace be to you. However let all your wants lie upon me, only do not lodge in the street. ²¹ So he brought him into his house and gave the donkeys fodder. And they washed their feet and ate and drank.

⁸ But a noble man devises noble things and in noble things he will continue.

⁵ And Abraham said to his young men, You* abide here with the donkey and I and the lad will go over there and we will worship and come back again to you*.

⁵² And it happened, that, when Abraham's servant heard their words, he bowed himself down to the earth to Jehovah.

³¹ And the people believed. And when they heard that Jehovah had visited the sons of Israel and that he had seen their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshiped.

²⁷ that you* will say, It is the sacrifice of Jehovah's Passover, who passed over the houses of the sons of Israel in Egypt, when he killed* the Egyptians and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshiped.

⁸ And Moses made haste and bowed his head toward the earth and worshiped.

²⁰ And David said to all the assembly, Now praise Jehovah your* God. And all the assembly praised Jehovah, the God of their fathers and bowed down their heads and bowed-down to Jehovah and the king.

¹⁸ And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground. And all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell down before Jehovah, worshiping Jehovah.

³⁰ Moreover Hezekiah the king and the rulers commanded the Levites to sing praises to Jehovah with the words of David and of Asaph the seer. And they sang praises with gladness and they bowed their heads and worshiped.

⁶ And Ezra blessed Jehovah, the great God. And all the people answered, Truly, Truly, with the lifting up of their hands. And they bowed their heads and worshiped Jehovah with their faces to the ground.

²⁹ All the fat ones of the earth will eat and worship. All those who go down to the dust will bow before him, even he who cannot keep his soul alive.

⁴ All the earth will worship you and will sing to you. They will sing to your name. Selah.

⁹ Those who dwell in the wilderness will bow before him and his enemies will lick the dust.

⁶ O come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before Jehovah our maker.

⁶ With what shall I come before Jehovah and bow myself before the high God? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old?

¹⁰ in order that every knee should bow in the name of Jesus, those from the heavenly and earthly and subterranean places,

²⁶ And he said, Praise Jehovah, the God of Shem. And let Canaan be his servant.

⁸ And Abram said to Lot, I beseech you, let there be no strife between me and you and between my herdsmen and your herdsmen, in that we are men– brothers.

²⁰ And praise God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand. And Abram gave him a tenth of all.

⁴ But you will go to my country and to my kindred and take a wife for my son Isaac.

²¹ And the man looked steadfastly on her, keeping silent, to know whether Jehovah had made his journey prosperous or not.

¹⁰ I am not worthy of the least of all the loving kindnesses and of all the truth, which you have shown to your servant, because with my staff I passed over this Jordan and now I have become two companies.

¹¹ And it happened in those days, when Moses was grown up, that he went out to his brothers and looked on their burdens. And he saw an Egyptian slaying a Hebrew, one of his brothers.

¹³ And he went out the second day, and behold, two men of the Hebrews were striving together. And he said to him who did the wrong, Why do you kill* your neighbor?

¹⁰ And Jethro said, Praise Jehovah, who has delivered you* out of the hand of the Egyptians and out of the hand of Pharaoh, who has delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians.

¹⁴ And the women said to Naomi, Praise Jehovah, who has not left you this day without a near kinsman. And let his name be famous in Israel.

³² And David said to Abigail, Praise Jehovah, the God of Israel, who sent you this day to meet me,

³⁹ And when David heard that Nabal was dead, he said, Praise Jehovah, who has pleaded the cause of my reproach from the hand of Nabal and has kept back his servant from evil and Jehovah has returned the evil-doing of Nabal upon his own head. And David sent and spoke concerning Abigail, to take her to him as a wife.

²⁸ And Ahimaaz called and said to the king, All is well. And he bowed himself before the king with his face to the earth and said, Praise Jehovah your God, who has delivered up the men who lifted up their hand against my lord the king.

¹⁰ Therefore David praised Jehovah before all the assembly. And David said, You are blessed, O Jehovah, the God of Israel our father, everlasting and everlasting. ¹¹ Yours, O Jehovah, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and on the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Jehovah and you are exalted as head above all. ¹² Both riches and honor come of you and you rule over all. And in your hand is power and might. And in your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. ¹³ Now therefore, our God, we thank you and praise your glorious name.

¹⁹ Praise the Lord, who bears our burden daily, even the God who is our salvation. Selah.

¹⁸ Praise Jehovah God, the God of Israel, who alone does wondrous things. ¹⁹ And praise his glorious name everlasting. And let the whole earth be filled with his glory. Truly and Truly.

³ He has remembered his loving kindness and his faithfulness toward the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

⁵ Because Jehovah is good. His loving kindness is everlasting and his faithfulness to all generations.

¹¹ I have taught you in the way of wisdom. I have led you in paths of uprightness. ¹² When you go, your steps will not be restricted. And if you run, you will not stumble.
¹³ Take firm hold of instruction. Do not let her go. Keep her, because she is your life.

²⁰ I walk in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of justice,

²⁰ You will perform the truth to Jacob and the loving kindness to Abraham, which you have sworn to our fathers from the days of long-ago.

⁶⁸ The Lord, the God of Israel is gracious. Because he has visited and made redemption for his people,

¹⁷ Because the law was given through Moses; the favor and the truth became through Jesus Christ.

¹⁷ Now to the King of the ages, incorruptible, invisible, the only wise God, is honor and glory forevermore. Amen.

⁵⁵ And her brother and her mother said, Let the maiden abide with us a few days, for at the least ten. After that she will go.

⁶⁷ And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent and took Rebekah and she became his wife and he loved her. And Isaac was comforted after his mother's death.

³³ And Laban went into Jacob's tent and into Leah's tent and into the tent of the two maidservants, but he did not find them. And he went out of Leah's tent and entered into Rachel's tent.

⁶⁰ And they blessed Rebekah and said to her, Our sister, you will be the mother of thousands of ten thousands and let your seed possess the gate of those who hate them.

⁵ And he said to them, Do you* know Laban the son of Nahor? And they said, We know him.

¹³ And it happened, when Laban heard the news of Jacob his sister's son, that he ran to meet him and embraced him and kissed him and brought him to his house. And he told Laban all these things.

²⁹ that you will do us no evil, as we have not touched you and as we have done to you nothing but good and have sent you away in peace. You now are the blessed of Jehovah.

² And he said to his mother, The eleven hundred pieces of silver that were taken from you, about which you uttered a curse and also spoke it in my ears, behold, the silver is with me. I took it. And his mother said, My son from Jehovah is blessed.

¹⁰ And he said, You are blessed of Jehovah, my daughter. You have shown more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, inasmuch as you did not follow young men, whether poor or rich.

⁸ A bribe is a precious stone in the eyes of him who has it; wherever it turns, it prospers.

¹⁶ A man's gift makes room for him and brings him before great men.

⁴ Now let a little water be fetched and wash your* feet and rest yourselves under the tree.

² and he said, Behold now, my lords, I beseech you*, turn aside into your* servant's house and abide all night and wash your* feet and you* will rise up early and go on your* way. And they said, No, but we will abide in the street all night.

²⁴ And the man brought the men into Joseph's house and gave them water and they washed their feet. And he gave their donkeys fodder.

²¹ So he brought him into his house and gave the donkeys fodder. And they washed their feet and ate and drank.

⁴¹ And she arose and bowed herself with her face to the earth and said, Behold, your handmaid is a servant to wash the feet of the servants of my lord.

⁴⁴ And turning to the woman, he said to Simon, Do you see this woman? I entered into your house, you gave me no water for my feet, but she has rained on my feet with her tears and wiped them with the hairs of her head.

⁴ arose from supper and places aside his garments, and he took a towel and girded himself. ⁵ Thereafter he puts water into the washbasin and began to wash the disciples’feet and to wipe them with the towel in which he was girded.
⁶ Therefore, he comes to Simon Peter and that man says to him, Lord, why are you washing my feet?
⁷ Jesus answered and said to him, What I do you do not know now, but you will know after these things.
⁸ Peter says to him, Never wash my feet.
Jesus answered him, If I do not wash you, you have no part with me.
⁹ Simon Peter says to him, Lord, not only my feet, but also the hands and the head.
¹⁰ Jesus says to him, He who has been fully-washed does not need to wash himself, other than the feet, but is entirely clean and you are clean, but not all. ¹¹ (For he knew the one who is giving him up.) Because of this, he said, You are not all clean.
¹² Therefore, when he had washed their feet and had taken up his garments, having leaned-back again, he said to them, You know what I have done for you? ¹³ You address me as the Teacher and, Lord, and you say well; for so I am. ¹⁴ Therefore, if I, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.

¹⁰ being testified of in good works; if she has reared children, if she was hospitable to strangers, if she has washed the holy-ones’feet, if she has relieved those being afflicted, if she has followed after every good work.

¹² I have not gone back from the commandment of his lips, I have treasured up the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

³ Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed, ⁴ I will not give sleep to my eyes, or slumber to my eyelids, ⁵ until I find out a place for Jehovah, a tabernacle for the Mighty One of Jacob.

²⁹ See a man diligent in his business? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before insignificant men.

¹⁰ Whatever your hand finds to do, do with your might, because there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in Sheol, where you go.

¹⁴ but whoever is drinking from the water that I will be giving him may never be thirsty, but the water that I will be giving him will become in him a well of water leaping up to everlasting life.

³¹ But in the time in between, the disciples requested him, saying, Rabbi, eat.
³² But he said to them, I have food to eat which you do not know.
³³ Therefore the disciples were saying to one another, Someone did not bring him anything to eat, did they?
³⁴ Jesus says to them, My food is that I should be doing the will of the one who sent me, and should complete his work.

⁵ The bondservants, be obedient to your lords according to the flesh with fear and trembling, in clarity of your heart, as to the Christ; ⁶ not according to eye-service, like men-pleasers, but like bondservants of the Christ, practicing the will of God from your soul; ⁷ serving with benevolence to the Lord and not to men. ⁸ Knowing that whatever good thing each one practices, he will be getting this from the Lord, whether bondservant or free man.

² But those who have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren, but rather let them serve them, because they are believing and beloved who are being helped by your good work. Teach and encourage these things.

¹⁶ And he dealt well with Abram for her sake. And he had sheep and oxen and male-donkeys and men-servants and maid-servants and female-donkeys and camels.

¹ And Abraham was old, well stricken in age. And Jehovah had blessed Abraham in all things.

¹¹ And it happened after the death of Abraham, that God blessed Isaac his son. And Isaac dwelt by Beer-lahai-roi

¹² And Isaac sowed in that land and found a hundredfold in the same year. And Jehovah blessed him. ¹³ And the man became great and grew more and more until he became very great. ¹⁴ And he had possessions of flocks and possessions of herds and a great household. And the Philistines envied him.

³ His substance also was seven thousand sheep and three thousand camels and five hundred yoke of oxen and five hundred female-donkeys and a very great household, so that this man was the greatest of all the sons of the east.

¹⁰ And Jehovah turned back the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends. And Jehovah gave Job twice as much as he had before.
¹¹ Then there came to him all his brothers and all his sisters and all those who had been of his acquaintance before and ate bread with him in his house. And they sympathized with him and comforted him concerning all the evil that Jehovah had brought upon him. Each man also gave him a piece of money and each one a ring of gold.
¹² So Jehovah blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning. And he had fourteen thousand sheep and six thousand camels and a thousand yoke of oxen and a thousand female-donkeys.

³⁵ You have also given me the shield of your salvation and your right hand has held me up and your gentleness has made me great.

³⁸ He also graces them, so that they are multiplied greatly and he does not allow their cattle to decrease.

³ Wealth and riches are in his house and his righteousness endures forever.

⁴ The reward of humility and the fear of Jehovah is riches and honor and life.

²⁹ And Abram and Nahor took wives to themselves. The name of Abram's wife was Sarai and the name of Nahor's wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah and the father of Iscah. ³⁰ And Sarai was barren; she had no child.

¹⁵ And God said to Abraham, As for Sarai your wife, you will not call her name Sarai, but her name will be Sarah. ¹⁶ And I will bless her. And moreover I will give you a son by her. Yes, I will bless her and she will be a mother of nations; kings of peoples will be by her.
¹⁷ Then Abraham fell upon his face and laughed and said in his heart, Shall a child be born to him who is a hundred years old? And will Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear? ¹⁸ And Abraham said to God, Oh that Ishmael might live before you!
¹⁹ And God said, No, but Sarah your wife will bear you a son and you will call his name Isaac. And I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his seed after him.

¹⁰ And he said, I will certainly return to you when the season comes round, and behold, Sarah your wife will have a son. And Sarah heard in the tent door, which was behind him.
¹¹ Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age. It had ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women. ¹² And Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I have become old shall I have pleasure from my lord who is also old?
¹³ And Jehovah said to Abraham, Why did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I who am old certainly bear a child? ¹⁴ Is anything too hard for Jehovah? At the set time I will return to you, when the season comes round and Sarah will have a son.

¹ And Jehovah visited Sarah as he had said and Jehovah did to Sarah as he had spoken. ² And Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. ³ And Abraham called the name of his son who was born to him, Isaac, whom Sarah bore to him. ⁴ And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac when he was eight days old, as God had commanded him. ⁵ And Abraham was a hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born to him.
⁶ And Sarah said, God has made me to laugh. Everyone who hears will laugh with me. ⁷ And she said, Who would have said to Abraham, that Sarah should nurse sons? For I have borne him a son in his old age.

¹⁰ Therefore she said to Abraham, Cast out this handmaid and her son. For the son of this handmaid will not be heir with my son, that is with Isaac.

⁵ And Abraham gave all that he had to Isaac.

¹⁹ And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already sterile, (being nearly a hundred years), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.

² And Abraham said to his servant, the elder of his house, who ruled over all that he had, I beseech you, put your hand under my thigh. ³ And I will make you swear by Jehovah, the God of heaven and the God of the earth, that you will not take a wife for my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell. ⁴ But you will go to my country and to my kindred and take a wife for my son Isaac.
⁵ And the servant said to him, Perhaps the woman will not be willing to follow me to this land. Must I bring your son again to the land from where you came? ⁶ And Abraham said to him, You beware that you not bring my son there again. ⁷ Jehovah, the God of heaven, who took me from my father's house and from the land of my nativity and who spoke to me and who swore to me, saying, To your seed I will give this land. He will send his messenger before you and you will take a wife for my son from there.
⁸ And if the woman is not willing to follow you, then you will be clear from this my oath. Only you will not bring my son there again. ⁹ And the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master and swore to him concerning this matter.

⁴⁶ And Rebekah said to Isaac, I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth. If Jacob takes a wife of the daughters of Heth, those like these, of the daughters of the land, what good will my life do me?

¹ Now when these things were done, the rulers drew near to me, saying, The people of Israel and the priests and the Levites, have not separated themselves from the peoples of the lands, doing according to their abominations, even of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians and the Amorites. ² For they have taken of their daughters for themselves and for their sons, so that the holy seed have mingled themselves with the peoples of the lands. Yes, the hand of the heads and rulers has been chief in this trespass.
³ And when I heard this thing, I tore my garment and my robe and plucked off the hair of my head and of my beard and sat down confounded.

¹ Now Jehovah said to Abram, Go out of your country and from your kindred and from your father's house, to the land that I will show you.

¹⁹ Now Laban had gone to shear his sheep and Rachel stole the household-idol that was her father's.

⁵ And the servant said to him, Perhaps the woman will not be willing to follow me to this land. Must I bring your son again to the land from where you came?

²² And Enoch walked with God three hundred years after he fathered Methuselah and fathered more sons and daughters.

⁹ These are the genealogies of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God.

¹ And when Abram was ninety-nine years old, Jehovah appeared to Abram and said to him, I am God Almighty, walk before me and you will be perfect.

⁷ Jehovah, the God of heaven, who took me from my father's house and from the land of my nativity and who spoke to me and who swore to me, saying, To your seed I will give this land. He will send his messenger before you and you will take a wife for my son from there.

³ and keep the charge of Jehovah your God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments and his ordinances and his testimonies, according to what is written in the law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn yourself.

²³ And he said, O Jehovah, the God of Israel, there is no God like you, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keeps covenant and loving kindness with your servants, who walk before you with all their heart,

³ Remember now, O Jehovah, I beseech you, how I have walked before you in truth and with a perfect heart and have done what is good in your sight. And Hezekiah wept greatly.

³ And he will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also does not wither. And whatever he does will prosper.

⁸ I beheld Jehovah always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

¹¹ because he will give his messengers charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.

²⁸ Nebuchadnezzar spoke and said, Praise the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, who has sent his messenger and delivered his servants who trusted in him and have changed the king's word and have yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

⁸ And I, John, am the one hearing and seeing these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the messenger who shows these things to me.

¹⁶ I, Jesus, have sent my messenger to testify to you these things in the congregations. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright morning star.

⁸ And if the woman is not willing to follow you, then you will be clear from this my oath. Only you will not bring my son there again.

¹² that you may enter into the covenant of Jehovah your God and into his oath, which Jehovah your God makes with you this day,

¹² And he said, O Jehovah, the God of my master Abraham, I beseech you, cause her to meet before me this day and show kindness to my master Abraham. ¹³ Behold, I am standing by the fountain of water. And the daughters of the men of the city are coming out to draw water. ¹⁴ And let it happen, that the maiden to whom I will say, I beseech you, let down your pitcher, that I may drink.
And she will say, Drink and I will also give your camels drink. Let it be her, the one you have appointed for your servant Isaac. And I will know that you have shown kindness to my master by this.

³¹ And he said, Come in, you blessed of Jehovah. Why do you stand outside? For I have prepared the house and room for the camels.

³ And his master saw that Jehovah was with him and that Jehovah made all that he did to prosper in his hand.

²¹ Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek of him a straight way for us and for our little ones and for all our substance.

¹⁷ And let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us. And establish the work of our hands upon us, yes, the work of our hands establish it.

⁷ Now as the messenger, the one who had been speaking to Cornelius, went away, he summoned two of his domestic servants and a devout soldier of those who are persevering with him; ⁸ and having described all these things to them, he sent them to Joppa.

²⁷ For you, O Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, have revealed to your servant, saying, I will build you a house. Therefore your servant has found in his heart to pray this prayer to you.

¹⁹ O Lord, hear. O Lord, forgive. O Lord, listen and do. Defer not, for your own sake, O my God, because your city and your people are called by your name.

²³ At the beginning of your supplications the commandment went forth and I have come to tell you, for you are a great delight. Therefore consider the matter and understand the vision.

⁷ Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will be finding; knock and it will be opened to you.

Now having opened the door, they saw him and were astonished. ¹⁷ But he, having beckoned to them with the hand to be silent, described to them how the Lord had led him out of the prison. Now he said, Report these things to James and to the brethren. And having gone out, he traveled to a different place.

²⁶ Now likewise, the Spirit is also jointly helping our weaknesses; for we do not know what we are praying for, that is according to what is essential for us; but the Spirit himself is petitioning on our behalf with unspeakable groans;

¹⁸ And she said, Drink, my lord. And she hurried and let down her pitcher upon her hand and gave him drink. ¹⁹ And when she had finished giving him drink, she said, I will also draw for your camels, until they have done drinking.

²² And it happened, as the camels had finished drinking, that the man took a golden ring of half a shekel weight and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight of gold, ²³ and said, Whose daughter are you? Tell me, I beseech you. Is there room in your father's house for us to lodge in?
²⁴ And she said to him, I am the daughter of Bethuel the son of Milcah, whom she bore to Nahor.

⁵³ And the servant brought out jewels of silver and jewels of gold and garments and gave them to Rebekah. He also gave precious things to her brother and to her mother.

⁹ Kings' daughters are among your honorable women. At your right hand stands the queen in gold of Ophir.

¹³ Inside, the king's daughter is all glorious. Her clothing is embroidered with gold.
¹⁴ She will be led to the king in embroidered work. The virgins, her companions who follow her, will be brought to you.

³ You will also be a crown of beauty in the hand of Jehovah and a royal diadem in the hand of your God.
⁴ You will no more be termed Forsaken, nor will your land any more be termed Desolate. But you will be called My Delight is in Her, for Jehovah delights in you and your land will be married. ⁵ For as a young man marries a virgin, so will your sons marry you. And as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so will your God rejoice over you.

¹⁰ I also clothed you with embroidered work and shod you with a certain skin. And I girded you around with fine linen and covered you with silk. ¹¹ And I decked you with ornaments and I put bracelets upon your hands and a chain on your neck. ¹² And I put a ring upon your nose and earrings in your ears and a beautiful crown upon your head.
¹³ Thus you were decked with gold and silver and your garments was of fine linen and silk and embroidered work. You ate fine flour and honey and oil.
And you were very beautiful and you prospered to royalty.

²⁶ in order that he might make her holy, having cleansed her in the full-washing of the water in the word, ²⁷ in order that he might present her to himself, the glorious congregation, not having stain or wrinkle or any such things, but in order that she should be holy and unblemished.

²⁶ And the man bowed his head and worshiped Jehovah. ²⁷ And he said, Praise Jehovah, the God of my master Abraham, who has not forsaken his loving kindness and his truth toward my master, I being in the way, Jehovah has led me to the house of my master's brothers.

²⁰ And you will teach them the statutes and the laws and will show them the way in which they must walk and the work that they must do.

¹⁴ Because this God is our God everlasting and forever. He will be our guide even to death.

⁷ He also led them by a straight way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

¹¹ I have taught you in the way of wisdom. I have led you in paths of uprightness.

¹⁷ Jehovah says thus, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: I am Jehovah your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you by the way that you should go.

¹⁷ I beseech you, let us pass through your land. We will not pass through field or through vineyard, neither will we drink of the water of the wells. We will go along the king's highway. We will not turn aside to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed your border.

²⁷ Let me pass through your land. I will go along by the highway, I will turn neither to the right hand nor to the left.

¹⁴ And the men said to her, Our life for yours* if you* do not utter this our business. And it will be, when Jehovah gives us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with you.

³ Do not let kindness and truth forsake you. Bind them about your neck, write them upon the tablet of your heart,

⁴² Jesus says to them, Have you never read in the Scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, this has become the head of the corner; this has become from the Lord and it is marvelous in our eyes?

¹¹ this came from the Lord and it is marvelous in our eyes’?

¹⁷ Therefore, if God gave to them the equal gift like he also did to us when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, now who was I, that I am able to forbid God?

¹⁵ And Abimelech said, Behold, my land is before you. Dwell where it pleases you.

¹⁰ And the king said, What have I to do with you*, you* sons of Zeruiah? Because he curses and because Jehovah has said to him, Curse David, who then will say, Why have you done so?

²⁶ And the man bowed his head and worshiped Jehovah.

¹ I will praise Jehovah at all times. His praise will continually be in my mouth. ² My soul will make its boast in Jehovah. The humble will hear of it and be glad.

²⁷ And the watchman said, I think the running of the foremost is like the running of Ahimaaz the son of Zadok. And the king said, He is a good man and comes with good news.
²⁸ And Ahimaaz called and said to the king, All is well. And he bowed himself before the king with his face to the earth and said, Praise Jehovah your God, who has delivered up the men who lifted up their hand against my lord the king.

¹⁰ Do not say, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? Because you do not inquire wisely concerning this.

³⁸ Now the man from whom the demons had gone out of, was beseeching to be together with him.
But Jesus dismissed him, saying, ³⁹ Return to your house, and describe how-much God has done for you. And he went away, preaching in the whole city how much Jesus had done to him.

³ And it happened in process of time, that Cain brought an offering to Jehovah of the fruit of the ground.

²⁹ And if a man sells a dwelling-house in a walled city, then he may redeem it within a whole year after it is sold. For a full year he will have the right of redemption.

⁹ You* hasten and go up to my father and say to him, Thus says your son Joseph; God has made me lord of all Egypt. Come down to me, do not delay. ¹⁰ And you will dwell in the land of Goshen and you will be near to me, you and your sons and your sons' sons and your flocks and your herds and all that you have. ¹¹ And there will I nourish you, because there are yet five years of famine, lest you come to poverty, you and your household and all that you have.
¹² And behold, your* eyes see and the eyes of my brother Benjamin, that it is my mouth that speaks to you*. ¹³ And you* will tell my father of all my glory in Egypt and of all that you* have seen. And you* will hasten and bring down my father here.

⁸ This book of the law will not depart out of your mouth, but you will meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it, for then you will make your way prosperous and then you will have good success.

²⁵ As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.

¹⁵ I, even I, have spoken, yes, I have called him. I have brought him and he will make his way prosperous.

¹⁰ Listen, O daughter and consider and incline your ear. Forget also your own people and your father's house. ¹¹ So will the king desire your beauty, because he is your lord and bow to him.

³⁸ But Mary said, Behold, the bondservant of the Lord; let it happen to me according to your declaration. And the messenger went away from her.

⁵⁰ Then Laban and Bethuel answered and said, The thing proceeds from Jehovah; we cannot speak to you bad or good.

⁸ And Deborah Rebekah's nurse died and she was buried below Bethel under the oak. And the name of it was called Allon-bacuth.

¹² Have I conceived all this people? Have I brought them forth, that you should say to me, Carry them in your bosom, as a nurturing father carries the sucking child, to the land which you swore to their fathers?

⁵ For just-as you know, (God being witness), we neither previously came in words of flattery, nor in a pretext of greed,

²⁸ And God blessed them. And God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and have power over it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.

¹ And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.

¹⁶ And I will bless her. And moreover I will give you a son by her. Yes, I will bless her and she will be a mother of nations; kings of peoples will be by her.

¹⁷ that in blessing I will bless you and in multiplying I will multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is upon the sea _shore and your seed will possess the gate of his enemies

³ And God Almighty bless you and make you fruitful and multiply you, that you may be a company of peoples,

¹⁵ And he blessed Joseph and said, The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God who has fed me all my life long to this day, ¹⁶ the messenger who has redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads and let my name be named on them and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.

²⁰ And he blessed them that day, saying, In you will Israel bless, saying, God make you like Ephraim and like Manasseh. And he set Ephraim before Manasseh.

⁴⁶ And you* will make them an inheritance for your* sons after you*, to hold for a possession. You* will take your* everlasting bondmen from them, but over your* brothers the sons of Israel you* will not rule, one over another, with rigor.

¹⁹ then his father and his mother will lay hold on him and bring him out to the elders of his city and to the gate of his place.

¹¹ And all the people who were in the gate and the elders, said, We are witnesses. Jehovah make the woman that has come into your house like Rachel and like Leah, which two built the house of Israel and do you worthily in Ephrathah and be famous in Bethlehem. ¹² And let your house be like the house of Perez whom Tamar bore to Judah, of the seed which Jehovah will give you by this young woman.

¹⁰ A fiery stream was streaming and came out from before him. Thousands of thousands ministered to him and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him. The judgment was set and the books were opened.

²⁴ Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother and will cling to his wife and the two will be one flesh.

¹⁰ Listen, O daughter and consider and incline your ear. Forget also your own people and your father's house.

¹ And Abraham traveled from there toward the land of the South and dwelt between Kadesh and Shur. And he traveled in Gerar.

² because his delight is in the law of Jehovah and on his law he meditates day and night.

¹¹ I will make mention of the deeds of Jehovah, because I will remember your wonders of long-ago. ¹² I will meditate also upon all your work and talk on your deeds.

³⁴ Let your meditation be sweet to him. I will rejoice in Jehovah.

¹⁵ I will meditate on your precepts and have respect for your ways.

²⁷ Make me to understand the way of your precepts, so I will meditate on your wondrous works.

⁴⁸ I will also lift up my hands to your commandments, which I have loved and I will meditate on your statutes.

¹⁷ How precious also are your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! ¹⁸ I count them; they are more in number than the sand. When I awake, I am still with you.

⁵ I remember the days of long-ago. I meditate on all your practices. I meditate on the work of your hands. ⁶ I spread forth my hands to you. My soul is as a weary land for you. Selah.

⁵ I will meditate on the glorious majesty of your honor and of your wondrous works.

¹⁸ And Jacob loved Rachel and he said, I will serve you seven years for Rachel your younger daughter.

³⁵ And all his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him, but he refused to be comforted and he said, For I will go down to Sheol to my son mourning. And his father wept for him.

¹² And Shua's daughter, the wife of Judah, died in process of time. And Judah was comforted and went up to his sheep shearers to Timnah, he and his friend Hirah the Adullamite.

² I would lead you and bring you into my mother's house, who would instruct me. I would cause you to drink of spiced wine, of the juice of my pomegranate.

¹ Sing, O barren, you who did not bear. Break forth into singing and cry aloud, you who did not travail with child. For more are the sons of the desolate than the sons of the married woman, says Jehovah.
² Enlarge the place of your tent and let them stretch forth the curtains of your habitations. Spare not. Lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes. ³ For you will spread abroad on the right hand and on the left. And your seed will possess the nations and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.
⁴ Do not fear, for you will not be ashamed. Neither be confounded, for you will not be put to shame. For you will forget the shame of your youth. And the reproach of your widowhood you will remember no more.
⁵ For your maker is your husband. Jehovah of hosts is his name. And the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer. He will be called the God of the whole earth.

¹ I wish-that you were tolerating me in a little foolishness, but even as you are tolerating other things from me. ² For I am jealous over you with the jealousy of God; for I espoused you to one husband, to present you as a pure virgin to the Christ.

²² The wives be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. ²³ Because the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is also the head of the congregation of believers, he is the savior of the body. ²⁴ But just-like the congregation is subject to the Christ, so let the wives also be subject to their own husbands in all things.
²⁵ The husbands, love^*\'b0 your own wives, just-as the Christ also loved the congregation and gave himself up on her behalf; ²⁶ in order that he might make her holy, having cleansed her in the full-washing of the water in the word, ²⁷ in order that he might present her to himself, the glorious congregation, not having stain or wrinkle or any such things, but in order that she should be holy and unblemished. ²⁸ So the husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. ²⁹ For no one ever hated his own flesh, but is nourishing and cherishing it, just-as the Lord also does the congregation of believers; ³⁰ because we are members of his body, out of his flesh and out of his bones. ³¹ Because of this, a man will be leaving his father and mother and will be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. ³² This mystery is great, but I am speaking in regard to Christ and in regard to the congregation of believers. ³³ However to you also, let each, one to one, love his own wife like himself, and let the wife see that she should fear her husband.

¹³ But brethren, we do not wish you to be ignorant concerning those who have fallen-asleep; in order that you may not be sorrowful like the rest who have no hope.

¹⁵ For this we are saying to you in the word of the Lord, that we, the living, who are left at the presence of the Lord, may never attain heaven before those who have fallen-asleep.
