¹ And Isaac called Jacob and blessed him and ordered him and said to him, You will not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan. ² Arise, go to Paddan-aram, to the house of Bethuel your mother's father and take a wife from there of the daughters of Laban your mother's brother. ³ And God Almighty bless you and make you fruitful and multiply you, that you may be a company of peoples, ⁴ and give you the blessing of Abraham, to you and to your seed with you, that you may inherit the land of your travels, which God gave to Abraham.
⁵ And Isaac sent Jacob away. And he went to Paddan-aram to Laban, son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebekah, Jacob's and Esau's mother.
⁶ Now Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob and sent him away to Paddan-aram, to take for him a wife from there and that as he blessed him he gave him an order, saying, You will not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan, ⁷ and that Jacob obeyed his father and his mother and had gone to Paddan-aram.
⁸ And Esau saw that the daughters of Canaan did not please Isaac his father. ⁹ And Esau went to Ishmael and took, besides the wives that he had, Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael Abraham's son, the sister of Nebaioth, to be his wife.
¹⁰ And Jacob went out from Beer-sheba and went toward Haran. ¹¹ And he fell upon a certain place and stayed there all night, because the sun was set. And he took one of the stones of the place and put it under his head and lay down in that place to sleep. ¹² And he dreamed and behold, a ladder set up on the earth and the top of it reached to heaven. And behold, the messengers of God ascending and descending on it.
¹³ And behold, Jehovah stood above it and said, I am Jehovah, the God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac. The land on which you lie, to you I will give it and to your seed. ¹⁴ And your seed will be as the dust of the earth and you will spread abroad to the west and to the east and to the north and to the south. And all the families of the earth will be blessed in you and in your seed. ¹⁵ And behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go and will bring you again into this land. For I will not leave you, until I have done what I have spoken to you.
¹⁶ And Jacob awoke out of his sleep and he said, Surely Jehovah is in this place and I did not know it. ¹⁷ And he was afraid and said, How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God and this is the gate of heaven. ¹⁸ And Jacob rose up early in the morning and took the stone that he had put under his head and set it up for a pillar and poured oil upon the top of it. ¹⁹ And he called the name of that place Bethel, but the name of the city was Luz at first.
²⁰ And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me and will keep me in this way that I go and will give me bread to eat and garments to put on, ²¹ so that I come again to my father's house in peace and Jehovah will be my God, ²² then this stone, which I have set up as a pillar, will be God's house. And of all that you will give me I will surely give the tenth to you.

² that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair. And they took to them wives of all that they chose.

³ And I will make you swear by Jehovah, the God of heaven and the God of the earth, that you will not take a wife for my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell.

³⁷ And my master made me swear, saying, You will not take a wife for my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I dwell,

³⁴ And when Esau was forty years old he took a wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite and Basemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite. ³⁵ And they were a bitterness of spirit to Isaac and to Rebekah.

⁴ And make savory food for me, what I love and bring it to me, that I may eat, that my soul may bless you before I die.

²⁷ And he came near and kissed him. And he smelled the smell of his garments and blessed him and said, See, the smell of my son is as the smell of a field that Jehovah has blessed. ²⁸ And God give you of the dew of heaven and of the fatness of the earth and plenty of grain and new wine. ²⁹ Let peoples serve you and nations bow down to you. Be lord over your brothers and let your mother's sons bow down to you. Cursed is he who curses you and blessed is he who graces you.
³⁰ And it happened, as soon as Isaac had made an end of blessing Jacob and Jacob was yet scarcely gone out from the presence of Isaac his father, that Esau his brother came in from his hunting. ³¹ And he also made savory food and brought it to his father. And he said to his father, Let my father arise and eat of his son's game, that your soul may bless me.
³² And Isaac his father said to him, Who are you? And he said, I am your son, your firstborn, Esau. ³³ And Isaac trembled very exceedingly and said, Who then is he who has taken game and brought it to me and I have eaten of all before you came and have blessed him? Yes, he will be blessed.

⁴⁶ And Rebekah said to Isaac, I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth. If Jacob takes a wife of the daughters of Heth, those like these, of the daughters of the land, what good will my life do me?

³ And God Almighty bless you and make you fruitful and multiply you, that you may be a company of peoples, ⁴ and give you the blessing of Abraham, to you and to your seed with you, that you may inherit the land of your travels, which God gave to Abraham.

⁹ And make you* marriages with us; give your* daughters to us and take our daughters to you*.

¹⁶ Then we will give our daughters to you* and we will take your* daughters to us. And we will dwell with you* and we will become one people.

¹⁵ And he blessed Joseph and said, The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God who has fed me all my life long to this day,

²⁸ All these are the twelve tribes of Israel and this is it that their father spoke to them and blessed them; every man according to his blessing he blessed them.

¹⁵ Lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land and they play the prostitute after their gods and sacrifice to their gods and a man calls you and you eat of his sacrifice, ¹⁶ and you take of their daughters to your sons and their daughters play the prostitute after their gods and make your sons play the prostitute after their gods.

¹ And this is the blessing with which Moses the man of God blessed the sons of Israel before his death.

⁷ Now to the one half-tribe of Manasseh Moses had given in Bashan, but to the other half Joshua gave among their brothers beyond the Jordan westward. Moreover when Joshua sent them away to their tents, he blessed them,

¹⁴ Do not become unequally yoked with unbelieving ones; for what partnership has righteousness and lawlessness? And what fellowship has light with darkness? ¹⁵ And what agreement has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with unbelieving ones? ¹⁶ And what alliance has a temple of God with idols? For you are a temple of the living God; just-as God said, ‘I will be dwelling among them and will be walking among them, and I will be their God and they will be a people to me.’

²⁰ And it happened after these things, that it was told to Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah, she has also borne sons to your brother Nahor: ²¹ Uz his first born and Buz his brother and Kemuel the father of Aram, ²² and Chesed and Hazo and Pildash and Jidlaph and Bethuel. ²³ And Bethuel fathered Rebekah. These eight Milcah bore to Nahor, Abraham's brother.

¹⁰ And the servant took ten camels, of the camels of his master and departed, having all good things of his master's in his hand. And he arose and went to Mesopotamia, to the city of Nahor.

¹⁵ And it happened, before he was done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel the son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder. ¹⁶ And the maiden was very fair to look upon, a virgin, no man had known her. And she went down to the fountain and filled her pitcher and came up.
¹⁷ And the servant ran to meet her and said, I beseech you, give me a little water to drink from your pitcher. ¹⁸ And she said, Drink, my lord. And she hurried and let down her pitcher upon her hand and gave him drink. ¹⁹ And when she had finished giving him drink, she said, I will also draw for your camels, until they have done drinking. ²⁰ And she hurried and emptied her pitcher into the trough and ran again to the well to draw and drew for all his camels.
²¹ And the man looked steadfastly on her, keeping silent, to know whether Jehovah had made his journey prosperous or not.
²² And it happened, as the camels had finished drinking, that the man took a golden ring of half a shekel weight and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight of gold, ²³ and said, Whose daughter are you? Tell me, I beseech you. Is there room in your father's house for us to lodge in?
²⁴ And she said to him, I am the daughter of Bethuel the son of Milcah, whom she bore to Nahor.

²⁹ And Rebekah had a brother and his name was Laban. And Laban ran out to the man, to the fountain.

⁵⁰ Then Laban and Bethuel answered and said, The thing proceeds from Jehovah; we cannot speak to you bad or good.

²⁰ And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to be his wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Paddan-aram, the sister of Laban the Syrian.

⁵ And Isaac sent Jacob away. And he went to Paddan-aram to Laban, son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebekah, Jacob's and Esau's mother.

¹ Then Jacob went on his journey and came to the land of the sons of the east.

¹⁸ And he carried away all his cattle and all his substance which he had gathered, the cattle of his spoil, which he had gathered in Paddan-aram, to go to Isaac his father to the land of Canaan.

¹⁰ I am not worthy of the least of all the loving kindnesses and of all the truth, which you have shown to your servant, because with my staff I passed over this Jordan and now I have become two companies.

⁹ And God appeared to Jacob again, when he came from Paddan-aram and blessed him.

¹⁵ These are the sons of Leah, whom she bore to Jacob in Paddan-aram, with his daughter Dinah. All the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty-three.

¹² And Jacob fled into the field of Aram and Israel served for a wife and for a wife he kept sheep.

²⁸ And God blessed them. And God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and have power over it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.

³ And Abram fell on his face. And God talked with him, saying, ⁴ As for me, behold, my covenant is with you and you will be the father of a multitude of nations. ⁵ Neither will your name any more be called Abram, but your name will be Abraham, because I have made you the father of a multitude of nations. ⁶ And I will make you exceedingly fruitful. And I will make nations of you and kings will come out of you.

¹⁷ that in blessing I will bless you and in multiplying I will multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is upon the sea _shore and your seed will possess the gate of his enemies ¹⁸ and in your seed will all the nations of the earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed my voice.

⁶⁰ And they blessed Rebekah and said to her, Our sister, you will be the mother of thousands of ten thousands and let your seed possess the gate of those who hate them.

¹¹ And God said to him, I am God Almighty. Be fruitful and multiply. A nation and a company of nations will be of you and kings will come out of your loins.

⁵² And the name of the second he called Ephraim, because God has made me fruitful in the land of my affliction.

¹⁴ And God Almighty give you* mercy before the man, that he may release to you* your* other brother and Benjamin. And if I be bereaved of my sons, I am bereaved.

³ And Jacob said to Joseph, God Almighty appeared to me at Luz in the land of Canaan and blessed me,

³ And I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob, as God Almighty, but I was not known by them by my name Jehovah.

¹ Unless Jehovah builds the house, they labor in vain who build it. Unless Jehovah guards the city, the watchman wake but in vain.

³ Behold, sons are a heritage of Jehovah and the fruit of the womb is a reward. ⁴ As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, so are the sons of youth.
⁵ The man who has his quiver full of them is fortunate. They will not be put to shame because they speak with their enemies in the gate.

³ Your wife will be as a fruitful vine in the innermost parts of your house, your sons like olive plants all around your table.
⁴ Behold, because the man will be blessed thus who fears Jehovah. ⁵ Jehovah bless you out of Zion and see you the good of Jerusalem all the days of your life. ⁶ Yes, see you your son's sons.
Peace be upon Israel.

¹⁸ and will be a Father to you and you will be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty.’

²² And I saw no temple in it; for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.

¹ Now Jehovah said to Abram, Go out of your country and from your kindred and from your father's house, to the land that I will show you. ² And I will make of you a great nation and I will bless you and make your name great and you will be a blessing. ³ And I will bless those who bless you and he who curses you I will curse. And all the families of the earth will be blessed in you.

⁷ And Jehovah appeared to Abram and said, I will give this land to your seed. And there he built an altar to Jehovah, who appeared to him.

¹⁴ And Jehovah said to Abram, after Lot was separated from him, Lift up your eyes now and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward. ¹⁵ For all the land which you see, to you I will give it and to your seed everlasting. ¹⁶ And I will make your seed like the dust of the earth. So that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then may your seed also be numbered. ¹⁷ Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it, because I will give it to you.

⁵ And he brought him outside and said, Look now toward heaven and number the stars, if you are able to number them. And he said to him, So your seed will be. ⁶ And he believed in Jehovah and he reckoned it to him for righteousness.
⁷ And he said to him, I am Jehovah who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans, to give you this land to inherit it.

¹⁸ In that day Jehovah made a covenant with Abram, saying, To your seed I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates: ¹⁹ the Kenite and the Kenizzite and the Kadmonite ²⁰ and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Rephaim ²¹ and the Amorite and the Canaanite and the Girgashite and the Jebusite.

⁶ And I will make you exceedingly fruitful. And I will make nations of you and kings will come out of you.
⁷ And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your seed after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God to you and to your seed after you. ⁸ And I will give to you and to your seed after you, the land of your travels, all the land of Canaan for an everlasting possession and I will be their God.

¹² Hear my prayer, O Jehovah and listen to my cry. Do not keep silent at my tears, because I am a stranger with you, a traveler, as all my fathers were.

¹⁷ His name will endure everlasting. His name will be continued as long as the sun. And men will call him fortunate. All nations will call him fortunate.

⁶ O you* seed of Abraham his servant, you* sons of Jacob, his chosen. ⁷ He is Jehovah our God. His judgments are in all the earth.
⁸ He has remembered his covenant everlasting, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations, ⁹ which he made with Abraham and his oath to Isaac, ¹⁰ and confirmed the same to Jacob for a statute, to Israel for an everlasting covenant, ¹¹ saying, To you I will give the land of Canaan, the lot of your* inheritance, ¹² when they were but a few men in number, yes, very few and travelers in it.

⁷ saying, ‘Those whose lawlessnesses are forgiven and whose sins are covered are fortunate. ⁸ The man to whom the Lord may never count sin, is fortunate.’

⁸ Now the Scripture foreseeing that God would make righteous the Gentiles from faith, proclaimed the good-news beforehand to Abraham, saying, ‘All the nations will be blessed in you.’

¹⁴ in order that the blessing of Abraham might happen to the Gentiles in Christ Jesus; in order that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through the faith.

³ The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ is gracious, who has blessed us in every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

⁹ In faith, he sojourned in the land of promise, as an alien, having dwelt in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the joint heirs of the same promise. ¹⁰ For he was waiting for the city which has the foundations, whose craftsman and contractor is God. ¹¹ In faith, even Sarah herself received power to conceive seed and bore a son contrary to the time of her fertile age, since she deemed him faithful who had promised. ¹² And hence these were fathered from one sterile man, just-as the stars of heaven in a multitude and as innumerable as the sand beside the sea shore. \ulnone\nosupersub ¹³ These all died according to faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them and having greeted them from farther out and having confessed that they are strangers and travelers upon the earth.

³³ And Isaac trembled very exceedingly and said, Who then is he who has taken game and brought it to me and I have eaten of all before you came and have blessed him? Yes, he will be blessed.

¹ And Isaac called Jacob and blessed him and ordered him and said to him, You will not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan.

⁴³ Now therefore, my son, obey my voice and arise, flee to Laban my brother to Haran.

¹² Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Jehovah your God gives you.

³ Every man will fear his mother and his father. And you* will keep my Sabbaths. I am Jehovah your* God.

⁸ My son, hear the instruction of your father and do not forsake the law of your mother.

¹⁷ The eye that mocks at his father and despises to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley will pick it out and the young eagles will eat it.

¹ The children, obey^*\'b0 your parents in the Lord; for this is righteous.

³ in order that it may become well with you, and you may be upon the earth a long time.

²⁰ The children: obey^*\'b0 the parents according to all things, for this is well pleasing in the Lord.

⁶ But the thing displeased Samuel when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed to Jehovah.

¹³ And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their genealogy: Nebaioth the firstborn of Ishmael and Kedar and Adbeel and Mibsam, ¹⁴ and Mishma and Dumah and Massa, ¹⁵ Hadad and Tema, Jetur, Naphish and Kedemah. ¹⁶ These are the sons of Ishmael and these are their names, by their villages and by their encampments, twelve princes according to their nations.
¹⁷ And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, a hundred and thirty-seven years. And he gave up the spirit and died and was gathered to his people.

³ and Basemath Ishmael's daughter, sister of Nebaioth.

¹³ And these are the sons of Reuel: Nahath and Zerah, Shammah and Mizzah, these were the sons of Basemath, Esau's wife.

¹⁸ And these are the sons of Oholibamah, Esau's wife: chief Jeush, chief Jalam, chief Korah. These are the chiefs that came by Oholibamah the daughter of Anah, Esau's wife.

³¹ And Terah took Abram his son and Lot the son of Haran, his son's son and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram's wife. And they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldeans, to go into the land of Canaan. And they came to Haran and dwelt there.

² Now he said, Brethren and fathers, listen : the God of glory appeared to our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Haran,

¹³ Now when some days had elapsed, Agrippa the King and Bernice arrived in Caesarea and greeted Festus.

¹⁸ And Jacob rose up early in the morning and took the stone that he had put under his head and set it up for a pillar and poured oil upon the top of it.

⁴⁶ And Jacob said to his brothers, Gather stones and they took stones and made a heap. And they ate there by the heap.

²⁰ And Jesus says to him, The foxes have burrows and the birds of the heaven have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere he may bow his head.

⁵ Because just-as the sufferings of the Christ abound to us, so our encouragement also abounds through the Christ.

¹ After these things the word of Jehovah came to Abram in a vision, saying, Do not fear, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.

¹² And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram. And behold, a horror of great darkness fell upon him.

³ But God came to Abimelech in a dream of the night and said to him, Behold, you are but a dead man, over the woman whom you have taken; she is a man's wife.

⁶ And God said to him in the dream, Yes, I know that in the integrity of your heart you have done this. And I also withheld you from sinning against me. Therefore I did not allow you to touch her. ⁷ Now therefore restore the man's wife. For he is a prophet and he will pray for you and you will live. And if you do not restore her, you will know that you will surely die, you and all who are yours.

¹ And Jacob went on his way and the messengers of God met him. ² And Jacob said when he saw them, This is God's camp. And he called the name of that place Mahanaim.

⁵ And Joseph dreamed a dream and he told it to his brothers and they hated him yet the more. ⁶ And he said to them, Hear, I beseech you*, this dream which I have dreamed. ⁷ For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and behold, my sheaf arose and also stood upright. And behold, your* sheaves came all around and bowed-down to my sheaf.
⁸ And his brothers said to him, Shall you indeed reign over us? Or will you indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his dreams and for his words.
⁹ And he dreamed yet another dream and told it to his brothers. And said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream again. And behold, the sun and the moon and eleven stars were bowing-down to me.
¹⁰ And he told it to his father and to his brothers. And his father rebuked him and said to him, What is this dream that you have dreamed? Shall I and your mother and your brothers indeed come to bow-down ourselves to you to the earth? ¹¹ And his brothers envied him, but his father kept the saying in mind.

¹ And it happened after these things, that the cupbearer of the King of Egypt and his baker, offended their lord the King of Egypt. ² And Pharaoh was angry against his two officers, against the chief of the cupbearers and against the chief of the bakers. ³ And he put them in confinement in the house of the captain of the guard, into the prison, the place where Joseph was bound. ⁴ And the captain of the guard charged Joseph with them and he ministered to them. And they continued a season in confinement.
⁵ And they dreamed a dream both of them in one night, each man his dream, each man according to the interpretation of his dream, the cupbearer and the baker of the King of Egypt, who were bound in the prison.
⁶ And Joseph came in to them in the morning and saw them, and behold, they were sad. ⁷ And he asked Pharaoh's officers who were with him in confinement in his master's house, saying, Why do you* look so sad today?
⁸ And they said to him, We have dreamed a dream and there is no man who can interpret it.
And Joseph said to them, Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell it to me, I beseech you*.
⁹ And the chief cupbearer told his dream to Joseph and said to him, In my dream, behold, a vine was before me. ¹⁰ And three tendrils were in the vine. And it was as though it budded, and its blossoms shot forth, and the clusters of it brought out ripe grapes. ¹¹ And Pharaoh's cup was in my hand and I took the grapes and pressed them into Pharaoh's cup and I gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand.
¹² And Joseph said to him, This is the interpretation of it: the three tendrils are three days; ¹³ within yet three days Pharaoh will lift up your head and restore you to your office. And you will give Pharaoh's cup into his hand, after the former manner when you was his cupbearer.
¹⁴ But have me in your remembrance when it will be well with you and I beseech you, show kindness to me and make mention of me to Pharaoh and bring me out of this house. ¹⁵ For indeed I was stolen away out of the land of the Hebrews and here also I have done nothing that they should put me into the pit.
¹⁶ When the chief baker saw that the interpretation was good, he said to Joseph, I also was in my dream, and behold, three baskets of white bread were on my head. ¹⁷ And there was of all manner of baked food for Pharaoh in the uppermost basket and the birds ate them out of the basket upon my head.
¹⁸ And Joseph answered and said, This is the interpretation of it: the three baskets are three days; ¹⁹ within yet three days Pharaoh will lift up your head from you and will hang you on a tree and the birds will eat your flesh from you.
²⁰ And it happened the third day, which was Pharaoh's birthday, that he made a feast to all his servants. And he lifted up the head of the chief cupbearer and the head of the chief baker among his servants. ²¹ And he restored the chief of the cup-bearers to his office of cup-bearer again and he gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand, ²² but he hanged the chief baker, as Joseph had interpreted to them. ²³ Yet the chief cupbearer did not remember Joseph, but forgot him.

⁶ And he said, Hear now my words. If there is a prophet among you*, I Jehovah will make myself known to him in a vision. I will speak with him in a dream.

⁹ For the eyes of Jehovah run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong to those whose heart is perfect toward him. In this you have done foolishly, for from hereafter you will have wars.

¹² Now a thing was secretly brought to me and my ear received a whisper of it. ¹³ In thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, ¹⁴ fear came upon me and trembling, which made all my bones to shake. ¹⁵ Then a spirit passed before my face; the hair of my flesh stood up. ¹⁶ It stood still, but I could not discern the appearance of it. A form was before my eyes.
There was silence and I heard a voice, saying, ¹⁷ Shall mortal man be more just than God? Shall a man be more pure than his maker? ¹⁸ Behold, he puts no trust in his servants and he charges his messengers with error.
¹⁹ How much more those who dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed before the moth! ²⁰ Between morning and evening they are destroyed. They perish forever without any regarding it. ²¹ Is not their tent-cord plucked up within them? They die and that without wisdom.

¹⁵ In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, in slumbering upon the bed.
¹⁶ Then he opens the ears of men and seals their instruction

¹⁰ Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

¹ And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams. And his spirit was troubled and his sleep went from him. ² Then the king commanded to call the magicians and the enchanters and the sorcerers and the Chaldeans, to tell the king his dreams. So they came in and stood before the king.
³ And the king said to them, I have dreamed a dream and my spirit is troubled to know the dream. ⁴ Then the Chaldeans spoke to the king in the Syrian language, O king, live forever. Tell your servants the dream and we will show the interpretation.
⁵ The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing has gone from me. If you* do not make the dream and the interpretation of it known to me, you* will be cut in pieces and your* houses will be made a dunghill. ⁶ But if you* show the dream and the interpretation of it, you* will receive gifts and rewards and great honor from me. Therefore show the dream and the interpretation of it to me.
⁷ They answered the second time and said, Let the king tell his servants the dream and we will show the interpretation.
⁸ The king answered and said, I know of a certainty that you* would gain time, because you* see the thing has gone from me. ⁹ But if you* do not make known to me the dream, there is but one law for you*, for you* have prepared lying and corrupt words to speak before me till the time is changed. Therefore tell me the dream and I will know that you* can show me the interpretation of it.
¹⁰ The Chaldeans answered before the king and said, There is not a man upon the earth who can show the king's matter. Inasmuch as no king, lord, or ruler, has asked such a thing of any magician or enchanter or Chaldean. ¹¹ And it is a rare thing that the king requires and there is no other who can show it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.
¹² For this reason the king was angry and very angry and commanded to destroy all the wise men of Babylon. ¹³ So the decree went forth and the wise men were to be slain. And they sought Daniel and his companions to be slain.
¹⁴ Then Daniel returned answer with counsel and prudence to Arioch, the captain of the king's guard, who went forth to kill the wise men of Babylon. ¹⁵ He answered and said to Arioch the king's captain, Why is the decree so urgent from the king? Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel.
¹⁶ And Daniel went in and desired of the king that he would appoint him a time and he would show the king the interpretation.
¹⁷ Then Daniel went to his house and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah, his companions, ¹⁸ that they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret, that Daniel and his companions should nor perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.
¹⁹ Then the secret was shown to Daniel in a vision of the night. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven. ²⁰ Daniel answered and said, Praise the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are his. ²¹ And he changes the times and the seasons. He removes kings and sets up kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. ²² He reveals the deep and secret things. He knows what is in the darkness and the light dwells with him.
²³ I thank you and praise you, O you, God of my fathers, who has given me wisdom and might and has now made known to me what we desired of you, for you have made known to us the king's matter.
²⁴ Therefore Daniel went in to Arioch, whom the king had appointed to destroy the wise men of Babylon. He went and said thus to him: Do not destroy the wise men of Babylon. Bring me in before the king and I will show to the king the interpretation.
²⁵ Then Arioch brought Daniel in before the king in haste and said thus to him: I have found a man of the sons of the captivity of Judah, who will make known the interpretation to the king.
²⁶ The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, Are you able to make known to me the dream which I have seen and the interpretation of it?
²⁷ Daniel answered before the king and said, The secret which the king has demanded, neither wise men, enchanters, magicians, nor soothsayers, can show to the king, ²⁸ but there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets. And he has made known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days.
Your dream and the visions of your head upon your bed, are these: ²⁹ As for you, O king, your thoughts came upon your bed, what should happen hereafter. And he who reveals secrets has made known to you what will happen.
³⁰ But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living man, but to the intent that the interpretation may be made known to the king and that you may know the thoughts of your heart.
³¹ You, O king, saw, and behold, a great image. This image, which was mighty and whose brightness was excellent, stood before you and the appearance of it was fearful. ³² As for this image, its head was of fine gold, its breast and its arms of silver, its belly and its thighs of brass, ³³ its legs of iron, its feet part of iron and part of clay.
³⁴ You looked until a stone was cut out without hands, which killed* the image upon its feet that were of iron and clay and broke them in pieces. ³⁵ Then the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver and the gold, was broken in pieces together and became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors. And the wind carried them away, so that no place was found for them. And the stone that killed* the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.
³⁶ This is the dream and we will tell the interpretation of it before the king. ³⁷ You, O king, are a king of kings, to whom the God of heaven has given the kingdom, the power and the strength and the glory. ³⁸ And wherever the sons of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the birds of the heavens, he has given into your hand and has made you to rule over them all. You are the head of gold.
³⁹ And after you will arise another kingdom inferior to you and another third kingdom of brass, which will bear rule over all the earth.
⁴⁰ And the fourth kingdom will be strong as iron, inasmuch as iron breaks in pieces and subdues all things. And as iron that crushes all these, it will break in pieces and crush. ⁴¹ And in what you saw the feet and toes, part of potters' clay and part of iron, it will be a divided kingdom. But there will be of the strength of the iron in it, inasmuch as you saw the iron mixed with miry clay. ⁴² And as the toes of the feet were part of iron and part of clay, so the kingdom will be partly strong and partly broken. ⁴³ And in what you saw the iron mixed with miry clay, they will mingle themselves with the seed of men, but they will not cling one to another, even as iron does not mix with clay.
⁴⁴ And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will the sovereignty of it be left to another people, but it will break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms and it will stand forever.
⁴⁵ Inasmuch as you saw that a stone was cut out of the mountain without hands and that it broke in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver and the gold, the great God has made known to the king what will happen hereafter. And the dream is certain and the interpretation of it sure.
⁴⁶ Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face and worshiped Daniel and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odors to him. ⁴⁷ The king answered to Daniel and said, Of a truth your* God is the God of gods and Lord of kings and a revealer of secrets, since you have been able to reveal this secret.
⁴⁸ Then the king made Daniel great and gave him many great gifts and made him to rule over the whole province of Babylon and to be chief governor over all the wise men of Babylon.
⁴⁹ And Daniel requested of the king and he appointed Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, over the affairs of the province of Babylon, but Daniel was in the gate of the king.

¹ Nebuchadnezzar the king, to all the peoples, nations and languages, who dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied to you*. ² It has seemed good to me to show the signs and wonders that the Most High God has worked toward me. ³ How great are his signs and how mighty are his wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom and his dominion is from generation to generation.
⁴ I, Nebuchadnezzar, was at rest in my house and flourishing in my palace. ⁵ I saw a dream which made me afraid and the thoughts upon my bed and the visions of my head troubled me.
⁶ Therefore I made a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known to me the interpretation of the dream. ⁷ Then the magicians, the enchanters, the Chaldeans and the soothsayers came in and I told the dream before them, but they did not make the interpretation of it known to me.
⁸ But at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods. And I told the dream before him, saying, ⁹ O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in you and no secret troubles you, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen and the interpretation of it.
¹⁰ Thus were the visions of my head upon my bed: I saw, and behold, a tree in the midst of the earth and the height of it was great. ¹¹ The tree grew and was strong and the height of it reached to heaven and the sight of it to the end of all the earth. ¹² The leaves of it were fine and the fruit of it much and food was in it for all. The beasts of the field had shadow under it and the birds of the heavens dwelt in the branches of it. And all flesh was fed from it.
¹³ I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and behold, a watcher and a holy one came down from heaven. ¹⁴ He cried aloud and said thus, Hew down the tree and cut off its branches. Shake off its leaves and scatter its fruit. Let the beasts get away from under it and the fowls from its branches.
¹⁵ Nevertheless leave the stump of its roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field. And let it be wet with the dew of heaven and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth. ¹⁶ Let his heart be changed from man's and let a beast's heart be given to him. And let seven times pass over him.
¹⁷ The sentence is by the decree of the watchers and the demand by the word of the holy ones, to the intent that the living may know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men and gives it to whomever he will and sets up over it the lowest of men.
¹⁸ This dream I, king Nebuchadnezzar, have seen. And you, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation, inasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known to me the interpretation. But you are able, for the spirit of the holy gods is in you.
¹⁹ Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was stricken mute for a while and his thoughts troubled him. The king answered and said, Belteshazzar, do not let the dream, or the interpretation, trouble you. Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, may the dream be to those who hate you and the interpretation of it to your adversaries.
²⁰ The tree that you saw, which grew and was strong, whose height reached to heaven and the sight of it to all the earth, ²¹ whose leaves were fine and the fruit of it much and in it was food for all, under which the beasts of the field dwelt and upon whose branches the birds of the heavens had their habitation, ²² it is you, O king, who have grown and become strong. For your greatness has grown and reaches to heaven and your dominion to the end of the earth.
²³ And in what the king saw a watcher and a holy one coming down from heaven and saying, Hew down the tree and destroy it. Nevertheless leave the stump of the roots of it in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field. And let it be wet with the dew of heaven and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him.
²⁴ This is the interpretation, O king and it is the decree of the Most High, which has come upon my lord the king: ²⁵ That you will be driven from men and your dwelling will be with the beasts of the field. And you will be made to eat grass as oxen and will be wet with the dew of heaven.
And seven times will pass over you till you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men and gives it to whomever he will.
²⁶ And in what they commanded to leave the stump of the roots of the tree, your kingdom will be sure to you, after you will have known that the heavens do rule.
²⁷ Therefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable to you and break off your sins by righteousness and your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor, if there may be a lengthening of your tranquility.
²⁸ All this came upon the king Nebuchadnezzar. ²⁹ At the end of twelve months he was walking in the royal palace of Babylon. ³⁰ The king spoke and said, Is not this great Babylon, which I have built for the royal dwelling-place by the might of my power and for the glory of my majesty?
³¹ While the word was in the king's mouth, a voice from heaven fell, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken: The kingdom is departed from you. ³² And you will be driven from men and your dwelling will be with the beasts of the field. You will be made to eat grass as oxen and seven times will pass over you, until you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men and gives it to whomever he will.
³³ The same hour the thing was fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar. And he was driven from men and ate grass as oxen. And his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hair was grown like eagles' feathers and his nails like birds' claws.
³⁴ And at the end of the days I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted up my eyes to heaven and my understanding returned to me. And I blessed the Most High and I praised and honored he who lives forever. For his dominion is an everlasting dominion and his kingdom from generation to generation. ³⁵ And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing and he does according to his will in the army of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth. And none can stay his hand, or say to him, What are you doing?
³⁶ At the same time my understanding returned to me and for the glory of my kingdom, my majesty and brightness returned to me and my counselors and my lords sought to me. And I was established in my kingdom and excellent greatness was added to me.
³⁷ Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, for all his works are truth and his ways justice. And he is able to humble those who walk in pride.

¹ In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon, Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed. Then he wrote the dream and told the sum of the matters.

²⁰ But when he was contemplating these things, behold, a messenger of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary to you, as your wife for what was born in her is from the Holy Spirit.

¹² And having been divinely-warned in a dream not to revisit Herod, they departed into their own region through another way.


¹³ Now when they had departed, behold, a messenger of the Lord appears to Joseph in a dream, saying, When you arise, take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be there until I should speak to you again, because Herod is about to seek the young child to destroy him.

¹⁹ But when Herod was dead, behold, a messenger of the Lord appears in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,

⁵¹ And he says to him, Assuredly, assuredly, I am saying to you, From now on, you will be seeing the heaven has opened, and the messengers of God ascending and coming down upon the Son of Man.

¹⁶ In my first defense no one came together for my defense, but all forsook me; may it not be counted against them. ¹⁷ But the Lord stood beside me and empowered me; in order that the preaching might be fully assured through me and in order that all the Gentiles might hear and I was rescued out of the mouth of the lion.

¹ God spoke long-ago in many parts and in many manners, in the prophets to the fathers, has spoken to us in the end of these days in his Son,

¹⁴ Are they not all ministering spirits, being sent forth into service because of those who are about to inherit salvation?

¹⁵ For all the land which you see, to you I will give it and to your seed everlasting.

⁶ And I will make you exceedingly fruitful. And I will make nations of you and kings will come out of you.
⁷ And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your seed after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God to you and to your seed after you.

³ Travel in this land and I will be with you and will bless you. For to you and to your seed, I will give all these lands and I will establish the oath that I swore to Abraham your father.

²⁴ And Jehovah appeared to him the same night and said, I am the God of Abraham your father. Do not fear, because I am with you and will bless you and multiply your seed for my servant Abraham's sake.

⁴ and give you the blessing of Abraham, to you and to your seed with you, that you may inherit the land of your travels, which God gave to Abraham.

⁴² Unless the God of my father, the God of Abraham and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely now you would have sent me away empty. God has seen my affliction and the labor of my hands and rebuked you last night.

⁹ And Jacob said, O God of my father Abraham and God of my father Isaac, O Jehovah, who said to me, Return to your country and to your kindred and I will do good things with you,

¹ And God said to Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel and dwell there and make an altar there to God, who appeared to you when you fled from the face of Esau your brother.

⁶ So Jacob came to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan (what is Bethel), he and all the people that were with him. ⁷ And he built there an altar and called the place El-bethel, because God was revealed to him there, when he fled from the face of his brother.

¹² And the land which I gave to Abraham and Isaac, I will give it to you and I will give the land to your seed after you.

¹⁵ And Jacob called the name of the place where God spoke with him, Bethel.

¹⁷ And it happened, when she was in hard labor, that the midwife said to her, Do not fear, now you will have another son.

³ And he said, I am God, the God of your father. Do not fear to go down into Egypt, because I will there make of you a great nation.

⁶ Moreover he said, I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look upon God.

¹⁵ And God said moreover to Moses, Thus you will say to the sons of Israel, Jehovah, the God of your* fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you*. This is my name everlasting and this is my memorial to all generations.
¹⁶ Go and gather the elders of Israel together and say to them, Jehovah, the God of your* fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac and of Jacob, has appeared to me, saying, I have surely visited you* and seen what is done to you* in Egypt.

¹¹ saying, To you I will give the land of Canaan, the lot of your* inheritance,

²⁴ And my servant David will be king over them and they all will have one shepherd. They will also walk in my ordinances and observe my statutes and do them. ²⁵ And they will dwell in the land that I have given to Jacob my servant, in which your* fathers dwelt. And they will dwell in it, they and their sons and their son's sons, everlasting. And David my servant will be their ruler everlasting.

³² I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

⁵ And he gave him no inheritance in it, not even a step of his foot, and he promised to give it to him and to his seed after him for his territory, even when there was no child yet to him.

¹⁶ But now they are aspiring for themselves to a better region, this thing is a heavenly one. Hence God is not ashamed of them, to be called their God; for he has prepared a city for them.

³ And I will bless those who bless you and he who curses you I will curse. And all the families of the earth will be blessed in you.

¹⁴ And Jehovah said to Abram, after Lot was separated from him, Lift up your eyes now and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward.

¹⁸ since Abraham will surely become a great and mighty nation and all the nations of the earth will be blessed in him?

¹⁸ and in your seed will all the nations of the earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed my voice.

⁴ And I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven and will give to your seed all these lands and in your seed all the nations of the earth will be blessed,

¹² And you said, I will surely do you good and make your seed as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.

¹¹ And God said to him, I am God Almighty. Be fruitful and multiply. A nation and a company of nations will be of you and kings will come out of your loins. ¹² And the land which I gave to Abraham and Isaac, I will give it to you and I will give the land to your seed after you.

¹⁰ Who can count the dust of Jacob, or number the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous and let my last end be like his!

²⁰ When Jehovah your God will enlarge your border, as he has promised you and you will say, I will eat flesh, because your soul desires to eat flesh, you may eat flesh, after all the desire of your soul.

¹¹ But I am saying to you, that many will be coming from the east and the west, and will be reclining with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of the heavens;

²⁵ You are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God covenanted with our fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘And in your seed, all the families of the earth will be blessed.’

¹⁶ Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He did not say and to seeds, as upon many, but as upon one and ‘to your seed,’which is the Christ.

⁴ And I heard the number of those who have been sealed, a hundred and forty-four thousand, having been sealed out of every tribe of the sons of Israel:

⁹ I saw and behold after these things, a large crowd, which no one was able to number, out of every nation and tribes and peoples and languages, standing in the sight of the throne and in the sight of the Lamb, having been dressed in white robes and palm trees in their hands;

²⁰ And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me and will keep me in this way that I go and will give me bread to eat and garments to put on, ²¹ so that I come again to my father's house in peace and Jehovah will be my God,

³ And Jehovah said to Jacob, Return to the land of your fathers and to your kindred and I will be with you.

² And Jehovah was with Joseph. And he was a man who succeeds. And he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.

²¹ But Jehovah was with Joseph and showed kindness to him and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.

⁴ I will go down with you into Egypt and I will also surely bring you up again and Joseph will put his hand upon your eyes.

¹⁶ the messenger who has redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads and let my name be named on them and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.

²¹ And Israel said to Joseph, Behold, I die, but God will be with you* and bring you* again to the land of your* fathers.

¹² And he said, I will certainly be with you. And this will be the sign to you, that I have sent you: When you have brought out the people out of Egypt, you* will serve God upon this mountain.

¹⁹ God is not a man, that he should lie, neither the son of man, that he should repent. Has he said and will he not do it? Or has he spoken and will he not make it good?

⁶ Be strong and of good courage, do not fear, nor be frightened at them, for Jehovah your God, he it is who goes with you. He will not leave you, nor forsake you.

⁵ There will not any man be able to stand before you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not fail you, nor forsake you.

¹⁴ And behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth. And you* know in all your* hearts and in all your* souls, that not one thing has failed of all the good things which Jehovah your* God spoke concerning you*. All have happen to you*; not one thing has failed of it.
¹⁵ And it will happen, that as all the good things have come upon you* of which Jehovah your* God spoke to you*, so will Jehovah bring upon you* all the evil things, until he has destroyed you* from this good land which Jehovah your* God has given you*. ¹⁶ When you* transgress the covenant of Jehovah your* God, which he commanded you* and go and serve other gods and bow down yourselves to them, then the anger of Jehovah will be kindled against you* and you* will perish quickly from the good land which he has given to you*.

¹⁶ And Jehovah said to him, Surely I will be with you and you will kill* the Midianites as one man.

⁵⁷ Jehovah our God be with us as he was with our fathers. Let him not leave us, nor forsake us,

⁷ Jehovah of hosts is with us. The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

⁵ Jehovah is your keeper. Jehovah is your shade upon your right hand. ⁶ The sun will not kill* you by day, nor the moon by night. ⁷ Jehovah will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul.
⁸ Jehovah will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and everlasting.

¹⁴ Therefore the Lord himself will give you* a sign: Behold, a virgin will conceive and bear a son and will call his name Immanuel.

¹⁰ Take counsel together and it will be brought to nothing. Speak the word and it will not stand, for God is with us.

² When you pass through the waters, I will be with you and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, nor will the flame kindle upon you.

¹⁹ And they will fight against you. But they will not prevail against you, for I am with you, says Jehovah, to deliver you.

²⁰ For where two or three have been gathered together in my name, I am there in the midst of them.

³⁵ The heaven and the earth will be passing away, but my words may never pass away.

²⁰ teaching them to observe all things, as many things as I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days until the end of the earth.
Amen.

²⁸ and I give to them everlasting life, and they may never perish and not anyone will be taking them out of my hand. ²⁹ My Father, who has given them to me, he is greater than all, and no one is able to take them out of my Father’s hand.

³¹ Therefore what will we say to these things? If God is working on our behalf, who is against us? ³² Yet, he who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up on behalf of us all, how will he not also be granting to us all things together with him?

⁸ for bodily exercise is profitable for few things, but godliness is profitable for all things, having the promise of life the current one and the future one.

⁵ In the manner of life, not being a money-lover, be content with the things which are present; for he himself has said, I may never be lax concerning you, nor should I ever forsake you. ⁶ So-that we, being courageous, may say, The Lord is my helper and I will not be fearing. What will man be doing for me?

¹ Jude, a bondservant of Jesus Christ and brother of James, to the called one, those who have been made holy in God the Father and have been kept in Jesus Christ:

⁵ And he said, Do not draw near here. Put off your shoes from your feet, because the place on which you stand is holy ground.

¹¹ Who is like you, O Jehovah, among the gods? Who is like you, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?

¹⁵ And the captain of Jehovah's army said to Joshua, Put off your shoe from your foot, for the place on which you stand is holy. And Joshua did so.

⁴ that Jehovah called Samuel. And he said, Here I am.
⁵ And he ran to Eli and said, Here I am, for you called me. And he said, I did not call. Lie down again. And he went and lay down. ⁶ And Jehovah called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli and said, Here I am, for you called me. And he answered, I did not call, my son. Lie down again.
⁷ Now Samuel did not yet know Jehovah, neither was the word of Jehovah yet revealed to him.

¹¹ Behold, he goes by me and I do not see him. He also passes on, but I do not perceive him.

¹⁴ For God speaks once, yes twice, though man does not regard it.

³⁵ O God, awesome out of your holy places, the God of Israel, he gives strength and power to his people. Praise God.

¹³ Jehovah of hosts, him you* will sanctify and let him be your* fear and let him be your* dread.

²² then this stone, which I have set up as a pillar, will be God's house. And of all that you will give me I will surely give the tenth to you.

¹ And God said to Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel and dwell there and make an altar there to God, who appeared to you when you fled from the face of Esau your brother.
² Then Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, Put away the foreign gods that are among you* and purify yourselves and change your* garments. ³ And let us arise and go up to Bethel and I will make there an altar to God, who answered me in the day of my distress and was with me on the way which I went. ⁴ And they gave to Jacob all the foreign gods which were in their hand and the rings which were in their ears. And Jacob hid them under the oak that was by Shechem.
⁵ And they traveled and a terror of God was upon the cities that were all around them and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob.
⁶ So Jacob came to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan (what is Bethel), he and all the people that were with him. ⁷ And he built there an altar and called the place El-bethel, because God was revealed to him there, when he fled from the face of his brother.
⁸ And Deborah Rebekah's nurse died and she was buried below Bethel under the oak. And the name of it was called Allon-bacuth.
⁹ And God appeared to Jacob again, when he came from Paddan-aram and blessed him. ¹⁰ And God said to him, Your name is Jacob. Your name will not be called any more Jacob, but Israel will be your name. And he called his name Israel. ¹¹ And God said to him, I am God Almighty. Be fruitful and multiply. A nation and a company of nations will be of you and kings will come out of your loins. ¹² And the land which I gave to Abraham and Isaac, I will give it to you and I will give the land to your seed after you.
¹³ And God went up from him in the place where he spoke with him.

²² And Manoah said to his wife, We will surely die, because we have seen God.

¹⁴ so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud. For the glory of Jehovah filled the house of God.

¹ Keep your foot when you go to the house of God, for to draw near to hear is better than to give the sacrifice of fools. For they do not know that they do evil.

⁶ And when the disciples heard it, they fell upon their face, and were extremely afraid.

⁹ And behold, a messenger of the Lord stood by them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid.

³⁵ Now they went out to see what had happened, and they came to Jesus and found the man, from whom the demons had gone out, sitting, having on garments and being sensible, beside the feet of Jesus, and they were afraid.

¹⁵ but if I am slow, these things are in order that you may know how men ought to conduct themselves in the house of God, which is the congregation of the living God, the pillar and base of the truth.

²¹ and having a great priest over the house of God;

¹⁷ Because the time for judgment is to begin from the house of God, and if it begins first from us, what will be the end of those who are disobedient to the good-news of God?

¹⁷ And when I saw him, I fell like one dead at his feet. And he placed his right hand upon me, saying, Do not fear; I am the first and the last,

³ And Abraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey and took two of his young men with him and Isaac his son. And he split the wood for the burnt offering and rose up and went to the place of which God had told him.

¹³ I am the God of Bethel, where you anointed a pillar, where you vowed a vow to me. Now arise, get out from this land and return to the land of your nativity.

⁴⁵ And Jacob took a stone and lifted it up for a pillar.

¹⁴ And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he spoke with him, a pillar of stone. And he poured out a drink offering on it and poured oil on it.

²⁰ And Jacob set up a pillar upon her grave, the same is the Pillar of Rachel's grave to this day.

¹⁰ And Moses took the anointing oil and anointed the tabernacle and all that was in it and made them holy. ¹¹ And he sprinkled of it upon the altar seven times and anointed the altar and all its vessels and the large-basin and its base, to sanctify them. ¹² And he poured of the anointing oil upon Aaron's head and anointed him, to sanctify him.

¹ And it happened on the day that Moses made an end of setting up the tabernacle, that he anointed it and made it holy and all the furniture of it and the altar and all the vessels of it and anointed them and made them holy.

²⁶ And Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God. And he took a great stone and set it up there under the oak that was by the sanctuary of Jehovah.
²⁷ And Joshua said to all the people, Behold, this stone will be a witness against us, for it has heard all the words of Jehovah which he spoke to us. It will be therefore a witness against you*, lest you* deny your* God.

¹² Then Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shen and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Jehovah has helped us to now.

¹⁸ Now Absalom in his lifetime had taken and reared up for himself the pillar which is in the king's valley, for he said, I have no son to keep my name in remembrance. And he called the pillar after his own name and it is called Absalom's monument to this day.

⁶⁰ I made haste and delayed not, to observe your commandments.

¹⁰ Whatever your hand finds to do, do with your might, because there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in Sheol, where you go.

¹⁹ In that day will there be an altar to Jehovah in the midst of the land of Egypt and a pillar to Jehovah at the border of it.

⁸ And he moved from there to the mountain on the east of Bethel and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. And there he built an altar to Jehovah and called upon the name of Jehovah.

²² And the house of Joseph, they also went up against Bethel and Jehovah was with them. ²³ And the house of Joseph sent to spy out Bethel. (Now the name of the city was formerly Luz.)
²⁴ And the spies saw a man come forth out of the city and they said to him, Please show us, the entrance into the city and we will deal kindly with you. ²⁵ And he showed them the entrance into the city. And they killed* the city with the edge of the sword, but they let the man go and all his family.
²⁶ And the man went into the land of the Hittites and built a city and called the name of it Luz, which is the name of it to this day.

²⁹ And he set the one in Bethel and the other he put in Dan.

¹⁵ Though you, Israel, play the prostitute, yet do not let Judah offend and do not come to Gilgal, nor go up to Beth-aven, nor swear, As Jehovah lives.

⁴ Yes, he had strength over the messenger and prevailed, as he wept and made supplication to him. He found him at Bethel and there he spoke with us. ⁵ Even Jehovah, the God of hosts, Jehovah is his memorial.

¹⁵ And behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go and will bring you again into this land. For I will not leave you, until I have done what I have spoken to you.

¹ And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, ² Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, When a man will accomplish a vow, the persons will be for Jehovah by your estimation. ³ And your estimation will be of the male from twenty years old even to sixty years old, even your estimation will be fifty shekels of silver, according to the shekel of the sanctuary. ⁴ And if it is a female, then your estimation will be thirty shekels. ⁵ And if it is from five years old even to twenty years old, then your estimation will be of the male twenty shekels and for the female ten shekels. ⁶ And if it is from a month old even to five years old, then your estimation will be of the male five shekels of silver and for the female your estimation will be three shekels of silver. ⁷ And if it is from sixty years old and upward, if it is a male, then your estimation will be fifteen shekels and for the female ten shekels. ⁸ But if he is poorer than your estimation, then he will be set before the priest and the priest will value him; according to the ability of him who vowed will the priest value him.
⁹ And if it is a beast, of which men offer an oblation to Jehovah, all that any man gives of such to Jehovah will be holy. ¹⁰ He will not alter it, nor change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good. And if he will at all change beast for beast, then both it and that for which it is changed will be holy. ¹¹ And if it is any unclean beast, of which they do not offer an oblation to Jehovah, then he will set the beast before the priest, ¹² and the priest will value it, whether it is good or bad. As you the priest values it, so will it be. ¹³ But if he will indeed redeem it, then he will add the fifth part of it to your estimation.
¹⁴ And when a man will sanctify his house to be holy to Jehovah, then the priest will estimate it, whether it is good or bad. As the priest will estimate it, so will it stand. ¹⁵ And if he who made it holy will redeem his house, then he will add the fifth part of the money of your estimation to it and it will be his.
¹⁶ And if a man will sanctify to Jehovah part of the field of his possession, then your estimation will be according to the sowing of it, the sowing of a homer of barley at fifty shekels of silver. ¹⁷ If he sanctifies his field from the year of jubilee, according to your estimation it will stand. ¹⁸ But if he sanctifies his field after the jubilee, then the priest will reckon to him the money according to the years that remain to the year of jubilee and an abatement will be made from your estimation.
¹⁹ And if he who made the field holy will indeed redeem it, then he will add the fifth part of the money of your estimation to it and it will be assured to him. ²⁰ And if he will not redeem the field, or if he has sold the field to another man, it will not be redeemed any more, ²¹ but the field, when it goes out in the jubilee, will be holy to Jehovah, as a field set apart; the possession of it will be the priest's.
²² And if he sanctifies to Jehovah a field which he has bought, which is not of the field of his possession, ²³ then the priest will reckon to him the worth of your estimation to the year of jubilee and he will give your estimation in that day, as a holy thing to Jehovah. ²⁴ In the year of jubilee the field will return to him of whom it was bought, even to him to whom the possession of the land belongs.
²⁵ And all your estimations will be according to the shekel of the sanctuary; twenty gerahs will be the shekel.
²⁶ Only the first-offspring among beasts, which is made a first-offspring to Jehovah, no man will sanctify it, whether it is ox or sheep, it is Jehovah's. ²⁷ And if it is of an unclean beast, then he will ransom it according to your estimation and will add to it the fifth part of it, or if it is not redeemed, then it will be sold according to your estimation.
²⁸ Notwithstanding, nothing set apart, that a man will set apart to Jehovah of all that he has, whether of man or beast, or of the field of his possession, will be sold or redeemed; everything set apart is most holy to Jehovah. ²⁹ No one set apart, who will be set apart from among men, will be ransomed; he will surely be put to death.
³⁰ And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is Jehovah's; it is holy to Jehovah. ³¹ And if a man will redeem any of his tithe, he will add to it the fifth part of it. ³² And all the tithe of the herd or the flock, whatever passes under the rod, the tenth will be holy to Jehovah. ³³ He will not search whether it is good or bad, neither will he change it. And if he changes it at all, then both it and that for which it is changed will be holy; it will not be redeemed.
³⁴ These are the commandments, which Jehovah commanded Moses for the sons of Israel at Mount Sinai.

¹ And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, ² Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, When either man or woman will make a special vow, the vow of a Nazirite, to separate himself to Jehovah, ³ he will separate himself from wine and strong drink. He will drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither will he drink any juice of grapes, nor eat fresh grapes or dried. ⁴ All the days of his separation he will eat nothing that is made of the grapevine, from the kernels even to the husk. ⁵ All the days of his vow of separation there will no razor come upon his head. Until the days be fulfilled, in which he separates himself to Jehovah, he will be holy. He will let the locks of the hair of his head grow long. ⁶ He will not come near to a dead body all the days that he separates himself to Jehovah. ⁷ He will not make himself unclean for his father, or for his mother, for his brother, or for his sister, when they die, because his separation to God is upon his head. ⁸ All the days of his separation he is holy to Jehovah.
⁹ And if any man dies very suddenly beside him and he defiles the head of his separation, then he will shave his head in the day of his cleansing; on the seventh day he will shave it. ¹⁰ And on the eighth day he will bring two turtledoves, or two young pigeons to the priest, to the door of the tent of meeting. ¹¹ And the priest will offer one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering and make atonement for him, because he sinned by reason of the dead and will sanctify his head that same day. ¹² And he will separate to Jehovah the days of his separation and will bring a male-lamb a year old for a trespass offering. But the former days will be void, because his separation was defiled.
¹³ And this is the law of the Nazirite when the days of his separation are fulfilled: He will be brought to the door of the tent of meeting, ¹⁴ and he will offer his oblation to Jehovah: one male-lamb a year old without blemish for a burnt offering and one ewe-lamb a year old without blemish for a sin offering and one ram without blemish for peace offerings, ¹⁵ and a basket of unleavened bread, cakes of fine flour mingled with oil and unleavened wafers anointed with oil and their meal offering and their drink offerings. ¹⁶ And the priest will present them before Jehovah and will offer his sin offering and his burnt offering. ¹⁷ And he will offer the ram for a sacrifice of peace offerings to Jehovah, with the basket of unleavened bread. The priest will also offer the meal offering of it and the drink offering of it.
¹⁸ And the Nazirite will shave the head of his separation at the door of the tent of meeting and will take the hair of the head of his separation and put it on the fire which is under the sacrifice of peace offerings. ¹⁹ And the priest will take the boiled shoulder of the ram and one unleavened cake out of the basket and one unleavened wafer and will put them upon the hands of the Nazirite, after he has shaven his separation, ²⁰ and the priest will wave them for a wave offering before Jehovah. This is holy for the priest, together with the wave-breast and heave-thigh. And after that the Nazirite may drink wine.

² And Israel vowed a vow to Jehovah and said, If you will indeed deliver this people into my hand, then I will utterly destroy their cities. ³ And Jehovah listened to the voice of Israel and delivered up the Canaanites. And they utterly destroyed them and their cities. And the name of the place was called Hormah.

³⁰ And Jephthah vowed a vow to Jehovah and said, If you will indeed deliver the sons of Ammon into my hand, ³¹ then it will be, that whatever comes forth from the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the sons of Ammon, it will be Jehovah's and I will offer it up for a burnt offering.

¹¹ And she vowed a vow and said, O Jehovah of hosts, if you will indeed look on the affliction of your handmaid and remember me and not forget your handmaid, but will give to your handmaid a male-child, then I will give him to Jehovah all the days of his life and there will no razor come upon his head.

²⁸ Therefore also I have granted him to Jehovah; as long as he lives he is granted to Jehovah. And he worshiped Jehovah there.

²⁴ And the men of Israel were distressed that day, for Saul had put the people under an oath, saying, Cursed be the man who eats any food until it is evening and I am avenged on my enemies. So none of the people tasted food.

⁸ For your servant vowed a vow while I abode at Geshur in Syria, saying, If Jehovah will indeed bring me again to Jerusalem, then I will serve Jehovah.

¹ Now in the twenty-fourth day of this month the sons of Israel were assembled with fasting and with sackcloth and earth upon them. ² And the seed of Israel separated themselves from all foreigners and stood and confessed their sins and the iniquities of their fathers. ³ And they stood up in their place and read in the book of the law of Jehovah their God a fourth part of the day and another fourth part they confessed and worshiped Jehovah their God.
⁴ Then Jeshua and Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, and Chenani, stood up upon the stairs of the Levites and cried with a loud voice to Jehovah their God. ⁵ Then the Levites, Jeshua and Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabneiah, Sherebiah, Hodiah, Shebaniah, and Pethahiah, said, Stand up and praise Jehovah your* God from everlasting to everlasting. And praise your glorious name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise.
⁶ You are Jehovah, even you alone, you have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and all things that are on it, the seas and all that is in them and you preserve them all. And the host of heaven worships you. ⁷ You are Jehovah, the God who chose Abram and brought him forth out of Ur of the Chaldeans and gave him the name of Abraham, ⁸ and found his heart faithful before you and made a covenant with him to give the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite and the Perizzite and the Jebusite and the Girgashite, to give it to his seed and have performed your words, for you are righteous.
⁹ And you saw the affliction of our fathers in Egypt and heard their cry by the Red Sea, ¹⁰ and showed signs and wonders upon Pharaoh and on all his servants and on all the people of his land, for you knew that they dealt proudly against them and got you a name, as it is this day.

²⁵ From you comes my praise in the great assembly. I will pay my vows before those who fear him.

¹² Your vows are upon me, O God. I will render thank offerings to you.

⁵ Because you, O God, have heard my vows. You have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.

⁸ So I will sing praise to your name forever, that I may daily perform my vows.

¹³ I will come into your house with burnt offerings. I will pay you my vows,

¹¹ Vow and pay to Jehovah your* God. Let all who are all around him bring presents to him who ought to be feared.

¹⁴ I will pay my vows to Jehovah, yes, in the presence of all his people.

¹⁸ I will pay my vows to Jehovah, yes, in the presence of all his people,

¹⁰⁶ I have sworn and have confirmed it, that I will observe your righteous ordinances.

² how he swore to Jehovah and vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob:

¹ Keep your foot when you go to the house of God, for to draw near to hear is better than to give the sacrifice of fools. For they do not know that they do evil.
² Do not be rash with your mouth and do not let your heart be hasty to utter anything before God. Because God is in heaven and you upon earth. Therefore let your words be few. ³ Because a dream comes the greatness of the task and a fool's voice with a multitude of words.
⁴ When you vow a vow to God, defer not to pay it, because he has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you vow. ⁵ It is better that you should not vow, than that you should vow and not pay. ⁶ Do not allow your mouth to cause your flesh to sin, nor say before the messenger, that it was an error. Why should God be angry at your voice and destroy the work of your hands? ⁷ Because there are vanities in the multitude of dreams and in many words. But fear God.

²¹ And Jehovah will be known to Egypt and the Egyptians will know Jehovah in that day. Yes, they will worship with sacrifice and oblation and will vow a vow to Jehovah and will perform it.

¹⁶ And we all received out of his fullness and favor in exchange-for favor.

¹⁸ But Paul, having remained after this still a considerable number of days, bid farewell to the brethren.


Now he sailed away to Syria, and together with him was Priscilla and Aquila; having sheared his head in Cenchreae; for he had a vow.

¹² Now when it became day, some of the Jews made a conspiracy and they vowed for themselves, saying, they were neither to eat nor to drink until they should have killed Paul. ¹³ Now they were more-than forty who had made this gang; ¹⁴ who came to the high-priests and the elders and said, We have vowed to be accursed, to taste nothing until we should have killed Paul. ¹⁵ Therefore now, you, together with the council, disclose it to the commander that he should be led to you the next-day, as if being about to investigate more accurately the things concerning him. Now we are ready to assassinate him before he draws near.

⁸ but we will be content with these things, having nourishment and clothes.

² Jehovah is my strength and song and he has become my salvation. This is my God and I will praise him, my father's God and I will exalt him.

¹⁷ You have avowed Jehovah to be your God this day and that you would walk in his ways and keep his statutes and his commandments and his ordinances and listen to his voice.

³¹ then it will be, that whatever comes forth from the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the sons of Ammon, it will be Jehovah's and I will offer it up for a burnt offering.

²⁴ And Mephibosheth the son of Saul came down to meet the king. And he had neither dressed his feet, nor trimmed his beard, nor washed his clothes, from the day the king departed until the day he came home in peace.

³⁰ And Mephibosheth said to the king, Yes, let him take all, inasmuch as my lord the king has come in peace to his own house.

¹⁷ And Naaman said, If not, yet, I beseech you, let there be given to your servant two mules' burden of dirt, for your servant will hereafter offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice to other gods, but to Jehovah.

²⁰ And praise God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand. And Abram gave him a tenth of all.

³³ And Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beer-sheba and called on the name of Jehovah, the Everlasting God, there.

¹⁷ And he was afraid and said, How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God and this is the gate of heaven.

²⁰ And he erected an altar there and called it El-Elohe-Israel.

⁷ And he built there an altar and called the place El-bethel, because God was revealed to him there, when he fled from the face of his brother.

¹⁴ And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he spoke with him, a pillar of stone. And he poured out a drink offering on it and poured oil on it. ¹⁵ And Jacob called the name of the place where God spoke with him, Bethel.

²² You will surely tithe all the increase of your seed; what comes forth from the field year by year. ²³ And you will eat before Jehovah your God, in the place which he will choose to cause his name to dwell there, the tithe of your grain, of your new wine and of your oil and the first-offspring of your herd and of your flock, that you may learn to fear Jehovah your God always.
