¹³ But he is in one mind and who can turn him? And what his soul desires, even that he does.

⁶ Because to every purpose there is a time and decision, although the distress of man is great upon him. ⁷ Because he does not know what will be, because who can tell him how it will be?

⁷ I form the light and create darkness. I make peace and create evil. I am Jehovah who does all these things.

¹⁵ Verily you are a God who hides yourself, O God of Israel, the Savior.

⁹ Remember the former things of old, for I am God and there is none else. I am God and there is none like me, ¹⁰ declaring the end from the beginning and from long-ago things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel will stand and I will do all my pleasure, ¹¹ calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man of my counsel from a far country. Yes, I have spoken. I will also make it occur. I have purposed. I will also do it.

³⁷ Who is he that says and it happens, when the Lord does not command it?

³³ O the depth of the riches, and of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and untraceable his ways!
