¹ Surely there is a mine for silver and a place for gold which they refine. ² Iron is taken out of the earth and copper is molten out of the stone. ³ Man sets an end to darkness and searches out to the furthest bound the stones of obscurity and of thick darkness. ⁴ He breaks open a shaft away from where men journey, paths forgotten by the foot. They hang afar from men; they swing to and fro.
⁵ As for the earth, out of it comes bread and underneath it is turned up as it were by fire. ⁶ The stones of it are the place of sapphires and it has dust of gold.
⁷ No bird of prey knows that path, nor has the falcon’s eye seen it. ⁸ The proud beasts have not trodden it, nor has the fierce lion passed by it.
⁹ He puts forth his hand upon the flinty rock. He overturns the mountains by the roots. ¹⁰ He cuts out channels among the rocks and his eye sees every precious thing.
¹¹ He binds the streams that they not trickle. And the thing that is hid he brings forth to light. ¹² But where will wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding?
¹³ Man does not know the price of it, nor is it found in the land of the living. ¹⁴ The deep says, It is not in me. And the sea says, It is not with me.
¹⁵ It cannot be gotten for gold, nor will silver be weighed for the price of it. ¹⁶ It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.
¹⁷ Gold and glass cannot equal it, nor will it be exchanged for jewels of fine gold.28:18 No mention will be made of coral or of crystal. Yes, the price of wisdom is above rubies. ¹⁹ The topaz of Ethiopia will not equal it, nor will it be valued with pure gold.
²⁰ Where then does wisdom come from? And where is the place of understanding?
²¹ Since it is hid from the eyes of all living and kept closed from the birds of the heavens. ²² Destruction and Death say, We have heard a rumor of it with our ears.
²³ God understands the way of it and he knows the place of it. ²⁴ For he looks to the ends of the earth and sees under the whole heaven, ²⁵ to make a weight for the wind. Yes, he distributes the waters by measure. ²⁶ When he made a decree for the rain and a way for the lightning of the thunder, ²⁷ then he saw it and declared it. He established it, yes and searched it out.
²⁸ And to man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom and to depart from evil is understanding.

¹¹ The name of the first is Pishon. It is that river which encompasses the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold. ¹² And the gold of that land is good; there is bdellium and the onyx stone too.

¹⁵ My lord, listen to me. A piece of land worth four hundred shekels of silver, what is that between me and you? Therefore bury your dead.

²² And it happened, as the camels had finished drinking, that the man took a golden ring of half a shekel weight and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight of gold,

⁴⁸ And Solomon made all the vessels that were in the house of Jehovah: the golden altar and the table upon it the showbread was, of gold; ⁴⁹ and the lamp-stands, five on the right side and five on the left, before the oracle, of pure gold; and the flowers and the lamps and the tongs, of gold; ⁵⁰ and the cups and the snuffers and the basins and the spoons and the censors, of pure gold; and the hinges, both for the doors of the inner house, the most holy place and for the doors of the house, namely, of the temple, of gold.

²¹ And all king Solomon's drinking vessels were of gold and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold. None were of silver; it was accounted of nothing in the days of Solomon.

² Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God the gold for the things of gold and the silver for the things of silver and the brass for the things of brass, the iron for the things of iron and wood for the things of wood, onyx stones and stones to be set, stones for inlaid work and of different colors and all manner of precious stones and marble stones in abundance.
³ Moreover also, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, seeing that I have a treasure of my own of gold and silver, I give it to the house of my God over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house, ⁴ even three thousand talants of gold, of the gold of Ophir and seven thousand talants of refined silver, with which to overlay the walls of the houses, ⁵ of gold for the things of gold and of silver for the things of silver and for all manner of work to be made by the hands of artisans. Who then offers willingly to consecrate himself this day to Jehovah?

⁶ The words of Jehovah are pure words, as silver tried in a furnace on the earth, purified seven times.

³ The refining pot is for silver and the furnace for gold, but Jehovah tries the hearts.

²¹ The refining pot is for silver and the furnace for gold and a man is tried by his praise.

¹⁰ Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver. I have chosen you in the furnace of affliction.

⁹ And I will bring the third part into the fire and will refine them as silver is refined and will try them as gold is tried. They will call on my name and I will hear them. I will say, It is my people and they will say, Jehovah is my God.

² But who can abide the day of his coming? And who will stand when he appears? For he is like a refiner's fire and like launder's soap.
³ And he will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver. And he will purify the sons of Levi and refine them as gold and silver. And they will offer to Jehovah offerings in righteousness.

⁷ in order that the trial of your faith, ( being much more precious than gold, which perishes), even now being tested through fire, may be found for praise and honor and to glory in the revelation of Jesus Christ.

²² And Zillah, she also bore Tubal-cain, the forger of every cutting instrument of brass and iron. And the sister of Tubal-cain was Naamah.

²² only the gold and the silver, the brass, the iron, the tin and the lead–

⁹ a land in which you will eat bread without scarceness. You will not lack anything in it, a land whose stones are iron and out of whose hills you may dig copper.

¹⁴ Now, behold, in my affliction I have prepared for the house of Jehovah a hundred thousand talants of gold and a million talants of silver and of brass and iron without weight, for it is in abundance. Also I have prepared timber and stone and you may add to it.

²¹ before I go where I will not return, to the land of darkness and of the shadow of death, ²² the land dark as midnight, of the shadow of death, without any order and where the light is as midnight.

²² He uncovers deep things out of darkness and brings out to light the shadow of death.

¹⁶ Have you entered into the springs of the sea? Or have you walked in the recesses of the deep? ¹⁷ Have the gates of death been revealed to you? Or have you seen the gates of the shadow of death?

⁴ if you seek her as silver and search for her as for hidden treasures,

¹³ And I applied my heart to seek and to search out by wisdom concerning all that is done under heaven. It is a great task that God has given to the sons of men to be exercised by it.

¹³ Behold, is it not of Jehovah of hosts that the peoples labor for the fire and the nations weary themselves for vanity?

³³ But first seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

⁸ And his lord praised the steward of unrighteousness because he had done prudently, because the sons of this world are more prudent to their own generation; even beyond the sons of the light.

¹¹ And God said, Let the earth put forth grass, herbs yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit (which has seed in it) according to their kind upon the earth. And it was so.
¹² And the earth brought out grass, herbs yielding seed according to their kind and trees bearing fruit (which has seed in it), according to their kind. And God saw that it was good.

²⁹ And God said, Behold, I have given you* every herb yielding seed, which is upon the face of all the earth and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed. To you* it will be for food,

¹⁴ He causes the grass to grow for the cattle and herbage for the service of man, that he may bring forth food out of the earth, ¹⁵ and wine that gladdens the heart of man and oil to make his face to shine and bread that strengthens man's heart.

²⁵ When he has leveled the face of it, does he not cast abroad the chick-peas and scatter the cummin and put in the wheat in rows and the barley in the appointed place and the spelt in the border of it?
²⁶ For his God instructs him aright, and teaches him. ²⁷ For the chick-peas are not threshed with a sharp instrument, nor is a cart wheel turned about upon the cummin, but the chick-peas are beaten out with a staff and the cummin with a rod. ²⁸ Bread grain is ground, for he will not be always threshing it. And though the wheel of his cart and his horses scatter it, he does not grind it. ²⁹ This also comes forth from Jehovah of hosts, who is wonderful in counsel and excellent in wisdom.

¹³ You were in Eden, the garden of God. Every precious stone was your covering, the ruby, the topaz and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald and the carbuncle and gold. The workmanship of your tambourine and of your pipes was in you. In the day that you were created they were prepared.
¹⁴ You were the anointed cherub who covers. And I set you, so that you were upon the holy mountain of God. You have walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

¹⁰ And they saw the God of Israel. And there was under his feet as it were a paved work of sapphire stone and as it were the very heaven for clearness.

¹⁶ It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.

¹⁴ His hands are rings of gold set with beryl. His body is ivory work overlaid with sapphires.

¹¹ O you afflicted, tossed with tempest and not comforted, behold, I will set your stones in fair colors and lay your foundations with sapphires.

¹⁹ The foundations of the wall of the city have been adorned with every precious stone. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald;

⁶ and that he would show you the secrets of wisdom! For he is great in understanding. Know therefore that God exacts of you less than your iniquity deserves.

¹⁹ Where is the way to the dwelling of light? And as for darkness, where is the place of it

²⁴ By what way is the light divided, or the east wind scattered upon the earth?

³³ O the depth of the riches, and of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and untraceable his ways!

⁴ He rebukes the sea and makes it dry and dries up all the rivers. Bashan languishes and Carmel and the flower of Lebanon languishes. ⁵ The mountains quake at him and the hills melt and the earth is upheaved at his presence. Yes, the world and all who dwell in it.
⁶ Who can stand before his indignation? And who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? His wrath is poured out like fire and the rocks are broken apart by him.

²³ There is profit in all labor, but the talk of the lips tends only to poverty.

⁴ and by knowledge the chambers are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.

⁹ Your bow was exposed. Naked are the oaths of the tribes to your word. Selah. You split the earth with rivers.

⁸ He binds up the waters in his thick clouds and the cloud is not burst under them.

²⁵ I have dug and drunk water and with the sole of my feet I will dry up all the rivers of Egypt.

²⁷ who says to the deep, Be dry and I will dry up your rivers,

² I will go before you and make the rough places smooth. I will break in pieces the doors of brass and cut apart the bars of iron.
³ And I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that it is I, Jehovah, who call you by your name, even the God of Israel.

⁵ So-then, do not judge anything before the time, until the Lord should come, who will both be illuminating the hidden things of darkness and will be manifesting the plans of the hearts, and then the praise from God will happen for each.

⁹ Give your servant therefore an understanding heart to judge your people, that I may discern between good and evil, for who is able to judge this your great people?

²⁰ Where then does wisdom come from? And where is the place of understanding?

²⁸ And to man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom and to depart from evil is understanding.

⁶ Behold, you desire truth in the inward parts and in the hidden part you will make me to know wisdom.

⁴ if you seek her as silver and search for her as for hidden treasures, ⁵ then you will understand the fear of Jehovah and find the knowledge of God.
⁶ Because Jehovah gives wisdom. Out of his mouth is knowledge and understanding.

¹⁹ Jehovah founded the earth by wisdom. He established the heavens by understanding.

²³ All this I have proved in wisdom. I said, I will be wise, but it was far from me. ²⁴ What is, is far off and exceedingly deep. Who can find it out?
²⁵ I turned about and my heart was set to know and to search out and to seek wisdom and the reason of things and to know that wickedness is folly and that foolishness is madness.

¹⁹ For it has been written, ‘I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and I will reject the understanding of the intelligent ones.’ ²⁰ Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has God not made the wisdom of the world foolish?

³ in whom all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden.

⁵ But if anyone of you is deficient of wisdom, let him ask from God, who gives to all liberally and does not reproach any, and it will be given to him.

¹⁷ Every good act of giving, and every complete gift, is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no change, nor a shadow of turning.

¹⁰ They are more to be desired than gold, yes, than much fine gold. Sweeter also than honey and the droppings of the honeycomb.

⁵ God will likewise destroy you forever. He will take you up and pluck you out of your tent and root you out of the land of the living. Selah.

⁷² The law of your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver.

¹⁴ Because the gain of it is better than the gain of silver and the profit of it than fine gold. ¹⁵ She is more precious than rubies and none of the things you can desire are to be compared to her.

¹¹ Because wisdom is better than rubies and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.

¹⁸ Riches and honor are with me, durable wealth and righteousness. ¹⁹ My fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold and my revenue better than choice silver.

¹⁶ How much better it is to get wisdom than gold! Yes, to get understanding is rather to be chosen than silver.

²³ Buy the truth and do not sell it, yes, wisdom and instruction and understanding.

¹⁶ When I applied my heart to know wisdom and to see the business that is done upon the earth (because also there is he who sees sleep with his eyes neither day nor night), ¹⁷ then I beheld all the work of God, that man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun. Because however much a man labors to seek it out, yet he will not find it. Yes moreover, though a wise man thinks to know it, yet he will not be able to find it.

¹¹ I said, I will not see Jehovah, even Jehovah in the land of the living. I will behold man no more with the inhabitants of the world.

⁸ In his humiliation his justice was taken away. And as for his generation, who considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living for the transgression of my people, to whom the stroke was due?

⁴⁴ Again, the kingdom of the heavens is similar to a treasure that has been hidden in the field; which a man found and hid, and he goes and sells all his things in his joy, as many things as he has and buys that field.
⁴⁵ Again, the kingdom of the heavens is similar to a man, who is a merchant, seeking beautiful pearls; ⁴⁶ who found one very precious pearl, went and sold all his things, as many things as he had, and bought it.

³³ O the depth of the riches, and of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and untraceable his ways! ³⁴ For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has become his counselor?

¹³ The man who finds wisdom is fortunate, and the man who gets understanding.

¹⁰ Receive my instruction and not silver and knowledge rather than choice gold. ¹¹ Because wisdom is better than rubies and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.

¹⁷ I love those who love me and those who seek me diligently will find me.

¹⁹ My fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold and my revenue better than choice silver.

²⁰ and the fourth row a beryl and an onyx and a jasper. They will be enclosed in gold in their settings.

⁴ even three thousand talants of gold, of the gold of Ophir and seven thousand talants of refined silver, with which to overlay the walls of the houses,

⁹ Kings' daughters are among your honorable women. At your right hand stands the queen in gold of Ophir.

¹² I will make a man more rare than fine gold, even a man than the pure gold of Ophir.

¹³ You were in Eden, the garden of God. Every precious stone was your covering, the ruby, the topaz and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald and the carbuncle and gold. The workmanship of your tambourine and of your pipes was in you. In the day that you were created they were prepared.

²² And over the head of the living creature there was the likeness of an expanse, like awesome crystal to look upon, stretched forth over their heads above.

⁶ and in the sight of his throne, like a glassy sea similar to crystal, and in the middle of the throne and in a circle of the throne, four living creatures full of eyes before and behind.

¹¹ having the glory of God. Her illumination was similar to a precious stone, like a crystal-like jasper stone,

¹ And he showed me a river of the clean water of life, bright like crystal, traveling out from the throne of God and of the Lamb,

¹⁵ She is more precious than rubies and none of the things you can desire are to be compared to her.

¹⁰ A worthy woman who can find? For her price is far above rubies.

⁷ Her ranking men were purer than snow. They were whiter than milk. They were more ruddy in body than rubies. Their polishing was as of sapphire.

¹⁶ Syria was your merchant because of the multitude of your handiworks. They traded for your wares with emeralds, purple and embroidered work and fine linen and coral and rubies.

⁶ Do not give the holy thing s to the dogs, nor cast your pearls before the swine, lest they trample them down with their feet and having turned, they may rip at you.

⁹ Likewise also, the women to adorn themselves in a respectable array, with modesty and self-discipline; not in hair braids or gold or pearls or costly garments;

⁴ And the woman having been dressed in purple and scarlet arrayed with gold and precious stone and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup being full of abominations and the unclean things of her fornication of the earth,

¹² cargo of gold, silver, precious stone, pearl, fine-linen, purple, silk, scarlet, every citron wood thing, every vessel of ivory, every vessel made out of the most precious wood and from brass, iron and marble;

²¹ And the twelve gates were twelve pearls apiece; each one of the gates was from one pearl, respectively and the street of the city was purest gold like transparent glass.

¹⁷ And you will set in it settings of stones, four rows of stones: a row of ruby, topaz and carbuncle will be the first row,

¹⁰ And they set four rows of stones in it. A row of ruby, topaz and carbuncle was the first row,

²⁰ the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, carnelian; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, hyacinth; the twelfth, amethyst.

¹² But where will wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding?

²³ God understands the way of it and he knows the place of it.

⁶ Because Jehovah gives wisdom. Out of his mouth is knowledge and understanding.

²³ All this I have proved in wisdom. I said, I will be wise, but it was far from me. ²⁴ What is, is far off and exceedingly deep. Who can find it out?

⁶ Now we are speaking wisdom among the mature ones; yet a wisdom not of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are being done-away-with; ⁷ but we are speaking God’s wisdom in a mystery, the wisdom which has been hidden, which God predetermined before the ages, for our glory. ⁸ It is this mystery which none of the rulers of this age knew; for if they had known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory; ⁹ but as it has been written, ‘Things which the eye did not see and the ear did not hear and things which did not come up in the heart of man, which God prepared for those who love him.’
¹⁰ But God revealed them to us through his Spirit; for the Spirit is searching all things, even the depths of God. ¹¹ For who from men knows the things of a man, except the spirit of the man, which is in him? So also, no one knows the things of God, except the Spirit of God. ¹² But we did not receive the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God; in order that we might know the things which were granted to us by God. ¹³ We also speak these things, not in the taught things from mankind, in words of wisdom, but in the taught things from the Holy Spirit; combining together with spiritual words of wisdom, spiritual things.


¹⁴ Now the physical man is not accepting the things from the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness to him, and he is not able to know them, because they are spiritually examined. ¹⁵ But the spiritual one is indeed examining all things, but he himself is examined by no one.

³ My mouth will speak wisdom and the meditation of my heart will be of understanding.
⁴ I will incline my ear to a proverb. I will open my dark saying upon the harp.

²⁵ Jesus answered and said at that time, I profess you, O Father, Lord of heaven and the earth, that you hid these things from the wise and intelligent and revealed them to infants.

¹⁷ For assuredly I am saying to you, that many prophets and righteous men desired to see the things you are seeing and did not see them, and to hear the things you are hearing and did not hear them.

³⁵ that what was spoken through the prophet might be fulfilled, saying, ‘I will open my mouth in parables. I will be uttering things which have been hidden from the conception of the world.’

⁷ but we are speaking God’s wisdom in a mystery, the wisdom which has been hidden, which God predetermined before the ages, for our glory. ⁸ It is this mystery which none of the rulers of this age knew; for if they had known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory; ⁹ but as it has been written, ‘Things which the eye did not see and the ear did not hear and things which did not come up in the heart of man, which God prepared for those who love him.’
¹⁰ But God revealed them to us through his Spirit; for the Spirit is searching all things, even the depths of God.

⁶ Sheol is naked before God and Abaddon has no covering.

¹⁴ The deep says, It is not in me. And the sea says, It is not with me.

¹⁰ who perished at En-dor, who became as manure for the earth. ¹¹ Make their ranking men like Oreb and Zeeb, yes, all their rulers like Zebah and Zalmunna, ¹² who said, Let us take to ourselves in possession the habitations of God.

⁷ The law of Jehovah is perfect, restoring the soul. The testimony of Jehovah is sure, making a simple man wise.

⁵ Great is our Lord and mighty in power. His understanding is infinite.

¹⁴ Counsel is mine and sound-wisdom. I am understanding; I have might.

²² Jehovah possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of long-ago. ²³ I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, before the earth was, ²⁴ when there were no depths. I was brought out when there were no fountains abounding with water, ²⁵ before the mountains were settled, before the hills. I was brought out ²⁶ while as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the beginning of the dust of the world.
²⁷ When he established the heavens, I was there. When he set a circle upon the face of the deep, ²⁸ when he made firm the skies above, when the fountains of the deep became strong, ²⁹ when he gave to the sea its boundary that the waters should not transgress his commandment, when he marked out the foundations of the earth, ³⁰ then I was by him, a master workman. And I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him, ³¹ rejoicing in his habitable earth. And my delight was with the sons of men.

²⁷ All things have been given to me by my Father and no one fully knows the Son, except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father fully, except the Son and he to whomever the Son wills to reveal him. \ulnone\nosupersub

²¹ Jesus was glad in the spirit in that same hour, and said, I profess you, O Father, Lord of the heaven and the earth, because you hid these things from the wise and intelligent, and revealed them to infants. Yes Father, because thus it became a delight before you.
²² And having turned to the disciples, he said, All things have been given to me by my Father, and no one knows who the Son is, except the Father, and who the Father is, except the Son and he to whomever the Son wills to reveal him.

¹⁸ (known to God are all his works from the age.)

³⁰ But you are from him, in Christ Jesus, who has become to us wisdom and righteousness and holiness and redemption from God;

²⁵ to the only wise God our Savior, is the glory and majesty, dominion and authority, both now and forever. Amen.

¹⁵ Behold, he withholds the waters and they dry up. Again, he sends them out and they overturn the earth.

⁷ who causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth, who makes lightnings for the rain, who brings forth the wind out of his treasuries,

¹² Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand and measured out heaven with the span and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure and weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance?

²⁶ Behold, God is great and we do not know him. The number of his years is unsearchable.

³² He covers his hands with the lightning and gives it a command that it strike the mark.

³ He sends it forth under the whole heaven and his lightning to the ends of the earth.

¹¹ Yes, he loads the thick cloud with moisture. He spreads abroad the cloud of his lightning,

²⁵ Who has cleft a channel for the water flood, or the way for the lightning of the thunder,

²⁷ to satisfy the waste and desolate ground and to cause the tender grass to spring forth?

³ The voice of Jehovah is upon the waters. The God of glory thunders, even Jehovah upon many waters.
⁴ The voice of Jehovah is powerful. The voice of Jehovah is full of majesty.
⁵ The voice of Jehovah breaks the cedars. Yes, Jehovah breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon. ⁶ He makes them also to skip like a calf, Lebanon and Sirion like a young wild-ox.
⁷ The voice of Jehovah splits the flames of fire.
⁸ The voice of Jehovah shakes the wilderness. Jehovah shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.
⁹ The voice of Jehovah makes the female-deers to birth-calves and strips the forests bare. And in his temple everything says, Glory.
¹⁰ Jehovah sat as King at the Flood. Yes, Jehovah sits as King everlasting.

⁸ fire and hail, snow and vapor, stormy wind, fulfilling his word,

²² Are there any among the vanities of the nations that can cause rain? Or can the heavens give showers? Are not you he, O Jehovah our God? Therefore we will wait for you, for you have made all these things.

⁷ And I also have withheld the rain from you*, when there were yet three months to the harvest. And I caused it to rain upon one city and caused it not to rain upon another city. One piece was rained upon and the piece upon which it did not rain withered.

¹ Ask you* of Jehovah rain in the time of the latter rain, even of Jehovah who makes lightnings and he will give them showers of rain, to everyone grass in the field.

¹ The heavens declare the glory of God and the expanse shows his handiwork.

²² Jehovah possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of long-ago. ²³ I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, before the earth was, ²⁴ when there were no depths. I was brought out when there were no fountains abounding with water, ²⁵ before the mountains were settled, before the hills. I was brought out ²⁶ while as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the beginning of the dust of the world.
²⁷ When he established the heavens, I was there. When he set a circle upon the face of the deep, ²⁸ when he made firm the skies above, when the fountains of the deep became strong, ²⁹ when he gave to the sea its boundary that the waters should not transgress his commandment, when he marked out the foundations of the earth,

⁶ Keep therefore and do them, for this is your* wisdom and your* understanding in the sight of the peoples, who will hear all these statutes and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

²⁹ The secret things belong to Jehovah our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our sons until everlasting, that we may do all the words of this law.

¹⁴ Depart from evil and do good. Seek peace and pursue it.

¹⁰ The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom and all who act accordingly have a good understanding.
His praise endures forever.

⁷ The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of knowledge. The foolish despise wisdom and instruction.

⁷ Do not be wise in your own eyes. Fear Jehovah and depart from evil.

⁴ To you*, O men, I call. And my voice is to the sons of men. ⁵ O you* simple, understand prudence, and you* fools, be of an understanding heart.

²⁶ while as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the beginning of the dust of the world.
²⁷ When he established the heavens, I was there. When he set a circle upon the face of the deep, ²⁸ when he made firm the skies above, when the fountains of the deep became strong, ²⁹ when he gave to the sea its boundary that the waters should not transgress his commandment, when he marked out the foundations of the earth, ³⁰ then I was by him, a master workman. And I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him, ³¹ rejoicing in his habitable earth. And my delight was with the sons of men.
³² Now therefore, you* sons, listen to me. For those who keep my ways are fortunate.

¹⁰ The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of the Holy is understanding.

¹⁴ The law of a wise man is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

¹⁷ The highway of the upright is to depart from evil. He who keeps his way preserves his soul.

¹³ This is the end of the matter, all has been heard: Fear God and keep his commandments, because this is the whole of man.

¹⁶ Wash you*, make you* clean, put away the evil of your* practices from before my eyes. Cease to do evil.

¹⁹ Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal, ‘The Lord knows those who are his,’

¹³ Who is wise and knowledgeable among you? Let him show out of his good conduct his works in meekness of wisdom. ¹⁴ But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not boast and lie against the truth. ¹⁵ This wisdom is not a wisdom coming down from above, but is earthly, physical, demonic. ¹⁶ For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is unrest and every evil matter. ¹⁷ But the wisdom which is from above is indeed first pure, thereafter is peaceful, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and non-pretended.

¹¹ Let him shun evil and let him practice good. Let him seek peace and let him pursue it,
