¹ And Job again took up his discourse and said, ² O that I were as in the months of long-ago, as in the days when God watched over me, ³ when his lamp shone upon my head and by his light I walked through darkness, ⁴ as I was in the ripeness of my days, when the friendship of God was upon my tent, ⁵ when the Almighty was yet with me and my sons were about me, ⁶ when my steps were washed with butter and the rock poured out streams of oil to me, ⁷ when I went forth to the gate to the city, when I prepared my seat in the street.
⁸ The young men saw me and hid themselves and the aged rose up and stood. ⁹ The rulers refrained from talking and laid their hand on their mouth. ¹⁰ The voice of the ranking men was hushed and their tongue stuck to the roof of their mouth. ¹¹ For when the ear heard me, then it blessed me and when the eye saw me, it gave witness to me.
¹² Because I delivered the poor who cried, also the fatherless who had none to help him. ¹³ The blessing of him who was ready to perish came upon me and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy.
¹⁴ I put on righteousness and it clothed me. My justice was as a robe and a diadem.
¹⁵ I was eyes to the blind and I was feet to the lame. ¹⁶ I was a father to the needy and I searched out the case of he whom I did not know. ¹⁷ And I broke the jaws of the unrighteous and plucked the prey out of his teeth.
¹⁸ Then I said, I will die in my nest and I will multiply my days as the sand. ¹⁹ My root is spread out to the waters and the dew lays all night upon my limb s. ²⁰ My glory is fresh in me and my bow is renewed in my hand.
²¹ To me men gave ear and waited and kept silence for my counsel. ²² After my words they spoke not again and my speech distilled upon them. ²³ And they waited for me as for the rain. And they opened their mouth wide as for the latter rain.
²⁴ I smiled on them when they had no confidence and they did not cast down the light of my countenance. ²⁵ I chose out their way and sat as chief and dwelt as a king in the army, as a man who comforts the mourners.

⁷ And he took up his oracle and said, From Aram Balak has brought me, the King of Moab from the mountains of the East. Come, curse Jacob for me and come, defy Israel.

¹² Your* memorable sayings are proverbs of ashes. Your* defenses are defenses of clay.

¹ And Job again took up his discourse and said,

¹ There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job and that man was perfect and upright and one who feared God and turned away from evil. ² And there were born to him seven sons and three daughters.
³ His substance also was seven thousand sheep and three thousand camels and five hundred yoke of oxen and five hundred female-donkeys and a very great household, so that this man was the greatest of all the sons of the east.
⁴ And his sons went and held a feast in the house of each one upon his day and they sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them. ⁵ And it was so, when the days of their feasting were completed, that Job sent and made them holy and rose up early in the morning and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned and renounced God in their hearts. Thus Job did continually.

¹⁰ Have you not made a hedge on every side on behalf of him and his house and all that he has? You have blessed the work of his hands and his substance is increased in the land.

³ so I am made to possess months of misery and wearisome nights are appointed to me.

²⁸ Because Jehovah loves justice and does not forsake his holy ones. They are preserved everlasting, but the seed of the wicked will be cut off.

²⁸ And it will happen that, just as I have watched over them to pluck up and to break down and to overthrow and to destroy and to afflict, so I will watch over them to build and to plant, says Jehovah.

¹ Jude, a bondservant of Jesus Christ and brother of James, to the called one, those who have been made holy in God the Father and have been kept in Jesus Christ:

¹⁷ And your life will be clearer than the noonday. Though there is darkness, it will be as the morning.

⁶ The light will be dark in his tent and his lamp above him will be put out.

¹⁷ How often is it that the lamp of the profane is put out, that their calamity comes upon them, that God distributes sorrows in his anger,

²⁸ You will also decree a thing and it will be established to you. And light will shine upon your ways.

⁶ There are many who say, Who will show us good? Jehovah, lift you up the light of your countenance upon us.

²⁸ Because you will light my lamp. Jehovah my God will lighten my darkness.

⁴ Even, because I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, because you are with me, your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

¹ Jehovah is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? Jehovah is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?

¹¹ Because Jehovah God is a sun and a shield. Jehovah will give favor and glory. He will withhold no good thing from those who walk uprightly.

⁹ The light of the righteous rejoices, but the lamp of the wicked will be put out.

²⁰ He who curses his father or his mother, his lamp will be put out in blackness of darkness.

²⁰ Because there will be no reward to the evil man. The lamp of the wicked will be put out.

⁴ And he will judge between the nations and will decide concerning many peoples and they will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning-hooks. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, neither will they learn war any more.

¹² Therefore, again Jesus spoke to them, saying, I am the light of the world. He who is following me may never walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.

⁴⁶ I have come like a light into the world, in order that everyone who believes in me may not remain in the darkness.

⁸ For you were previously in darkness, but now you^\'b0 are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light

¹⁴ Hence he says, Arise, you who are sleeping and rise up from the dead and the Christ will appear upon you.

⁸ Have you heard the secret counsel of God? And do you limit wisdom to yourself?

¹⁴ The friendship of Jehovah is with those who fear him and he will show them his covenant.

⁵ Because in the day of trouble he will hide me in his shelter. He will hide me in the covering of his tabernacle He will lift me up upon a rock.

¹ He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will abide under the shadow of the Almighty

³² Because the perverse man is an abomination to Jehovah, but his friendship is with the upright.

³ For you died and the life you have, has been hidden together with the Christ in God.

²⁷ The God of long-ago is your dwelling-place and underneath are the everlasting arms. And he thrust out the enemy from before you and said, Destroy. ²⁸ And Israel dwells in safety, the fountain of Jacob alone, in a land of grain and new wine. Yes, his heavens drop down dew. ²⁹ You are fortunate, O Israel. Who is like you, a people saved by Jehovah, the shield of your help and the sword of your excellency! And your enemies will submit themselves to you and you will tread upon their high places.

⁹ Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage. Do not be frightened, neither be dismayed, for Jehovah your God is with you wherever you go.

¹² And the messenger of Jehovah appeared to him and said to him, Jehovah is with you, you mighty man of valor.
¹³ And Gideon said to him, Oh, my lord, if Jehovah is with us, then why has all this befallen us? And where are all his wondrous works which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not Jehovah bring us up from Egypt? But now Jehovah has cast us off and delivered us into the hand of Midian.

³ O that I knew where I might find him, that I might come even to his seat!

⁸ Behold, I go before, but he is not there and backward, but I cannot perceive him, ⁹ on the left hand, when he works, but I cannot behold him. He hides himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him.
¹⁰ But he knows the way that I take. When he has tried me, I will come out as gold.

¹³ He had also seven sons and three daughters.
¹⁴ And he called the name of the first, Jemimah and the name of the second, Keziah and the name of the third, Keren-happuch. ¹⁵ And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job. And their father gave them inheritance among their brothers.
¹⁶ And after this Job lived a hundred and forty years and saw his sons and his sons' sons, even four generations.

⁷ You, Jehovah, had made my mountain to stand strong from your favor. You hid your face; I was troubled.

² Because you are the God of my strength. Why have you cast me off? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

⁸ We have made our boast all the day long in God and we will give thanks to your name everlasting. Selah.
⁹ But now you have cast off and brought us to dishonor and do not go forth with our armies.

³ Behold, sons are a heritage of Jehovah and the fruit of the womb is a reward. ⁴ As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, so are the sons of youth.
⁵ The man who has his quiver full of them is fortunate. They will not be put to shame because they speak with their enemies in the gate.

³ Your wife will be as a fruitful vine in the innermost parts of your house, your sons like olive plants all around your table.

⁶ Son's sons are the crown of old men and the glory of sons are their fathers.

⁴ He brought me to the banquet house and his banner over me was love.

¹ I sought he whom my soul loves by night on my bed. I sought him, but I did not find him. ² I said, I will rise now and go around the city. I will seek he whom my soul loves in the streets and in the broad ways. I sought him, but I did not find him.

⁸ O you hope of Israel, the Savior of it in the time of trouble, why should you be as a traveler in the land and as a wayfaring man who turns aside to abide for a night?

¹⁵ And Jesus said to them, The sons of the bridal-party are not able to mourn, inasmuch as the bridegroom is with them, are they? But the days will come, whenever the bridegroom is taken away from them and then they will be fasting.

¹¹ Binding his foal to the vine and his donkey's colt to the choice vine, he has washed his garments in wine and his raiment in the blood of grapes.

¹³ He made him ride on the high places of the earth and he ate the increase of the field and he made him to suck honey out of the rock and oil out of the flinty rock, ¹⁴ butter of the herd and milk of the flock, with fat of lambs and rams of the breed of Bashan and goats, with the finest of the wheat and of the blood of the grape you drank wine.

²⁴ And of Asher he said, Asher with sons are blessed. Let him be acceptable to his brothers and let him dip his foot in oil.

¹⁷ He will not look upon the rivers, the flowing streams of honey and butter.

¹⁶ He would feed them also with the finest of the wheat. And I would satisfy you with honey out of the rock.

¹⁸ You will make judges and officers for you in all your gates, which Jehovah your God gives you, according to your tribes and they will judge the people with righteous judgment.

¹⁹ then his father and his mother will lay hold on him and bring him out to the elders of his city and to the gate of his place.

¹ Now Boaz went up to the gate and sat down there. And behold, the near kinsman of whom Boaz spoke came by, to whom he said, Such man, stay, turn aside. Sit down here. And he turned aside and sat down. ² And he took ten men of the elders of the city and said, Sit you* down here. And they sat down.

¹¹ And all the people who were in the gate and the elders, said, We are witnesses. Jehovah make the woman that has come into your house like Rachel and like Leah, which two built the house of Israel and do you worthily in Ephrathah and be famous in Bethlehem.

²¹ if I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless, because I saw my help in the gate,

¹⁶ These are the things that you* will do: Speak to every man the truth with his neighbor. Execute the judgment of truth and peace in your* gates.

³² You will rise up before the hoary head and honor the face of the old man and you will fear your God. I am Jehovah.

³¹ The hoary head is a crown of glory. It will be found in the way of righteousness.

⁸ A king who sits on the throne of judgment scatters away all evil with his eyes.

³ For rulers are not a fear to those of the good works, but to those of the evil works. And you do not wish to be afraid of the authority, do you? Do what is the good thing and you will have praise from it; ⁴ for he is a servant of God to you for what is the good thing. But if you practice what is the evil thing, be afraid; for he is not wearing the sword vainly; for he is a servant of God, an avenger for wrath to the one who is practicing the evil thing.

⁷ Therefore give to all, their dues: tribute to whom tribute; tax to whom tax; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor.

¹ Remind them to subject themselves to principalities and authorities, to be obedient, to be prepared for every good work,

¹⁷ Honor all men. Love^*\'b0 the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.

⁵ Likewise, the younger ones, be subject to the elder ones. But all of you be subject to one another, clothe yourselves with humility, because ‘God resists the haughty, but is giving grace to the humble.’

¹⁹ And they said to him, Hold your peace, lay your hand upon your mouth and go with us and be to us a father and a priest. Is it better for you to be priest to the house of one man, or to be priest to a tribe and a family in Israel?

² If a man tries to speak with you, will you be grieved? But who can withhold himself from speaking?

¹¹ Therefore I will not refrain my mouth. I will speak in the anguish of my spirit. I will complain in the bitterness of my soul.

⁵ Mark me and be astonished and lay your* hand upon your* mouth.

⁴ Behold, I am of small account. What shall I answer you? I lay my hand upon my mouth.

¹⁹ Transgression is not lacking in the multitude of words, but he who refrains his lips does wisely.

³² If you have done foolishly in lifting up yourself, or if you have thought evil, lay your hand upon your mouth.

¹⁹ So-then my beloved brethren, let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to wrath.

⁶ Let my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth, if I do not remember you, if I do not prefer Jerusalem above my chief joy.

²⁶ And I will make your tongue cling to the roof of your mouth, that you will be mute and will not be a reprover to them, for they are a rebellious house.

²⁰ if his loins have not blessed me and if he has not been warmed with the fleece of my sheep;

² When the righteous are increased, the people rejoice, but when a wicked man rules, the people sigh.

²² And all were testifying of him, and were marveling at the words of favor which traveled from his mouth, and they were saying, Is this not Joseph’s son?

²⁷ Now it happened, while he said these things, a certain woman out of the crowd lifted up her voice and said to him, The womb bearing you, and the breasts which you nursed, are fortunate.

²² You* will not afflict any widow, or fatherless child. ²³ If you afflict them at all and they cry at all to me, I will surely hear their cry, ²⁴ and my wrath will grow hot and I will kill you* with the sword and your* wives will be widows and your* sons fatherless.

¹⁸ He executes justice for the fatherless and widow and loves the traveler in giving him food and garments.

² For there were who said, We, our sons and our daughters, are many. Let us get grain that we may eat and live.
³ There were some also who said, We are mortgaging our fields and our vineyards and our houses. Let us get grain because of the dearth.
⁴ There were also who said, We have borrowed money for the king's tribute upon our fields and our vineyards. ⁵ Yet now our flesh is as the flesh of our brothers, our sons as their sons. And behold, we bring into bondage our sons and our daughters to be servants and some of our daughters are brought into bondage already. Neither is it in our power to help it, for other men have our fields and our vineyards.
⁶ And I was very angry when I heard their cry and these words. ⁷ Then I consulted with myself and contended with the ranking men and the rulers and said to them, You* exact usury, everyone of his brother. And I held a great assembly against them. ⁸ And I said to them, According to our ability we have redeemed our brothers the Jews, who were sold to the nations and would you* even sell your* brothers and should they be sold to us? Then they were silent and found not a word.
⁹ Also I said, The thing that you* do is not good. Ought you* not to walk in the fear of our God, because of the reproach of the nations our enemies? ¹⁰ And I likewise, my brothers and my servants, lend them money and grain. I beseech you*, let us leave off this usury. ¹¹ Restore, I beseech you*, to them, even this day, their fields, their vineyards, their olive-groves and their houses, also the hundredth part of the money and of the grain, the new wine and the oil, that you* exact of them.
¹² Then they said, We will restore them and will require nothing of them, so will we do, even as you say. Then I called the priests and took an oath from them that they would do according to this promise. ¹³ Also I shook out my lap and said, So God shake out every man from his house and from his labor, who does not perform this promise, even thus be he shaken out and emptied. And all the assembly said, Truly and praised Jehovah. And the people did according to this promise.

⁵ Is not your wickedness great? Neither is there any end to your iniquities. ⁶ For you have taken pledges from your brother for nothing and stripped the naked of their clothing. ⁷ You have not given water to the weary to drink and you have withheld bread from the hungry. ⁸ But as for the mighty man, he had the land. And the honorable man, he dwelt in it. ⁹ You have sent widows away empty and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.

⁴ They turn the needy out of the way. The poor of the earth all hide themselves.

¹⁷ or have eaten my morsel alone and the fatherless has not eaten of it

⁵ A father of the fatherless and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.

¹² Because he will deliver a needy man when he cries and a poor man, who has no helper.

² How long will you* judge unjustly and respect the persons of the wicked? Selah.
³ Judge the poor man and the orphan. Do justice to the afflicted and destitute man. ⁴ Rescue the poor and needy man. Deliver him from the hand of the wicked man.

¹³ He who stops his ears at the cry of a poor man, he will also cry, but will not be heard.

¹¹ Deliver those who are carried away to death and hold back those who are slipping away to be slain. ¹² If you say, Behold, we did not know this, Does not he who weighs the hearts consider it? And he who keeps your soul, does he not know it? And will not he render to every man according to his work?

¹⁶ He judged the cause of the poor and needy man, then it was well. Was not this to know me? says Jehovah.

²⁷ A clean and undefiled religion with our God and Father is this: to ^{F} visit ^{F} the orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.

¹¹ And you will rejoice before Jehovah your God, you and your son and your daughter and your man-servant and your maid-servant and the Levite who is within your gates and the traveler and the fatherless and the widow, who are in the midst of you, in the place which Jehovah your God will choose to cause his name to dwell there,

¹³ You will surely restore to him the pledge when the sun goes down, that he may sleep in his garment and bless you. And it will be righteousness to you before Jehovah your God.

⁵ And you will answer and say before Jehovah your God, My father was a Syrian ready to perish and he went down into Egypt and traveled there, few in number. And he became there a nation, great, mighty and populous.

¹⁰ Then he said to them, Go your* way, eat fat things and drink sweet things and send portions to him for whom nothing is prepared. For this day is holy to our Lord; neither be you* grieved, for the joy of Jehovah is your* strength.
¹¹ So the Levites quieted all the people, saying, Be silent, for the day is holy, neither be you* grieved. ¹² And all the people went their way to eat and to drink and to send portions and to make great gladness, because they had understood the words that were declared to them.

⁹ You have sent widows away empty and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.

¹⁹ if I have seen any perish for lack of clothing, or that the needy had no covering; ²⁰ if his loins have not blessed me and if he has not been warmed with the fleece of my sheep;

⁴ O let the nations be glad and sing for joy. Because you will judge the peoples with equity and govern the nations upon earth. Selah.

⁶ Give strong drink to him who is ready to perish and wine to the bitter in soul. ⁷ Let him drink and forget his need and remember his misery no more.
⁸ Open your mouth for the mute, in the cause of all such as are left desolate. ⁹ Open your mouth, judge righteously and minister justice to the poor and needy.

¹³ And it will happen in that day, that a great trumpet will be blown. And they will come who were ready to perish in the land of Assyria and those who were outcasts in the land of Egypt. And they will worship Jehovah in the holy mountain at Jerusalem.

¹⁴ Behold, my servants will sing for joy of heart, but you* will cry for sorrow of heart and will wail for vexation of spirit.

³⁹ Now having stood up, Peter went together with them, those who had come to him, and they led him into the upstairs-room. And all the widows stood by him weeping and showing the tunics and garments; as many as Dorcas was making, when she was with them. ⁴⁰ But when Peter cast them all outside; having placed his knees down, he prayed, and having turned again to the body, he said, Tabitha, rise up. And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up. ⁴¹ Now he gave her his hand and stood her up, and summoning the holy-ones and widows, he presented her as living.

¹² Because the service of this ministry not only is replenishing the things lacking of the holy-ones, but is also abounding through many thanksgivings to God; ¹³ because through the trial of you from this service they are glorifying God upon the subjection of your confession toward the good-news of the Christ and at the liberality of your generosity toward them and toward all; ¹⁴ and in their supplication on your behalf, a longing-for you because of the surpassing grace of God upon you.

¹⁶ May the Lord give mercy to the house of Onesiphorus, because he often refreshed me and is not ashamed of my chain; ¹⁷ but, when he happened to be in Rome, he diligently sought me and found me, ¹⁸ (may the Lord give to him to find mercy from the Lord in that day), and how-much he served me in Ephesus, you know this quite-well.

⁷ For we have much gratitude and comfort in your love, because the hearts of the holy-ones have been given-rest through you, brother.

⁶ I hold fast my righteousness and will not let it go. My heart will not reproach me so long as I live.

⁹ Let your priest be clothed with righteousness and let your holy ones shout for joy.

⁵ In that day Jehovah of hosts will become a crown of glory and a diadem of beauty, to the residue of his people,

¹⁷ And he put on righteousness as a breastplate and a helmet of salvation upon his head. And he put on garments of vengeance for clothing and was clad with zeal as a mantle.

¹⁰ I will greatly rejoice in Jehovah. My soul will be joyful in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation. He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

³ You will also be a crown of beauty in the hand of Jehovah and a royal diadem in the hand of your God.

¹⁴ But clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not practice forethought for the lusts of the flesh.

⁷ in the word of truth, in the power of God; through the weapons of righteousness from the right hand and from the left hand,

¹⁴ Therefore stand, having girded your loins in truth and having clothed yourselves with the breastplate of righteousness,

⁸ But we, being of the day, should be sober; having clothed yourselves with the breastplate of faith and love, and a helmet-- the hope of salvation.

⁸ And it was given to her in order that she might dress herself in fine-linen, bright and clean; for the fine-linen is the righteousnesses of the holy-ones.

³¹ And he said, I beseech you, do not leave us, inasmuch as you know how we are to encamp in the wilderness and you will be to us instead of eyes.

⁵ the blind recover their sight and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, the dead are raised and the poor have the good-news proclaimed to them.

¹² For just-as the body is one and has many members and all the members of the one body, being many, are one body; so also is the Christ. ¹³ For also, we were all immersed into one body, in one Spirit, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bondservants or free men, and all were made to drink into one Spirit. ¹⁴ For the body is not one member, but many. ¹⁵ If the foot says, Because I am not the hand, I am not from the body; contrary to this, is it not from the body? ¹⁶ And if the ear says, Because I am not the eye, I am not from the body; contrary to this, is it not from the body? ¹⁷ If the whole body were an eye, where is the hearing? If the whole body were hearing, where is the sense of smell? ¹⁸ But now God has placed the members in the body, each one of them, just-as he willed. ¹⁹ Now if they were all one member, where is the body? ²⁰ But now they are indeed many members, but one body. ²¹ Now the eye is not able to say to the hand, I have no need of you; or again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. ²² But much rather now, those members of the body that seem to be weaker are necessary; ²³ and those things of the body which we think to be more dishonored, we place even-more honor upon these, and our indecent parts have even-more decency; ²⁴ but our decent parts have no need. But God mixed the body together, having given even-more honor to the ones which are lacking; ²⁵ in order that no splits should be in the body, but in order that the members should have the same anxiety on behalf of one another. ²⁶ And if one member is suffering, all the members are suffering together with it. If one member is glorified, all the members are rejoicing together with it. ²⁷ Now you are the body of Christ and members individually. ²⁸ And indeed God placed some in the congregation of believers, first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, thereafter miracles, thereafter gifts of healing, helps, those who pilot others, those with varieties of languages. ²⁹ All are not apostles, are they? All are not prophets, are they? All are not teachers, are they? All are not workers of miracles, are they? ³⁰ All do not have gifts of healing, do they? All do not speak with foreign languages, do they? All do not translate, do they? ³¹ But be zealous for the better gifts. And I will show to you still a surpassingly-better way.

²⁶ and they judged the people at all seasons. The hard cases they brought to Moses, but every small matter they judged themselves.

¹⁴ then you will inquire and make search and ask diligently. And behold, if it is true and the thing certain, that such abomination is worked in the midst of you,

⁸ If there arise a matter too hard for you in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within your gates, then you will arise and get you up to the place which Jehovah your God will choose. ⁹ And you will come to the priests the Levites and to the judge who will be in those days and you will inquire. And they will show you the sentence of judgment.
¹⁰ And you will do according to the tenor of the sentence which they will show you from that place which Jehovah will choose. And you will observe to do according to all that they will teach you,

¹⁶ Then two women who were prostitutes came to the king and stood before him. ¹⁷ And the one woman said, Oh, my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house. And I was delivered of a child with her in the house. ¹⁸ And it happened the third day after I was delivered, that this woman was delivered also. And we were together; there was no stranger with us in the house, except we two in the house.
¹⁹ And this woman's child died in the night, because she lay upon it. ²⁰ And she arose at midnight and took my son from beside me while your handmaid slept and laid it in her bosom and laid her dead child in my bosom. ²¹ And when I rose in the morning to give my child suck, behold, it was dead. But when I had looked at it in the morning, behold, it was not my son whom I bore.
²² And the other woman said, No, but the living is my son and the dead is your son. And the other woman said, No, but the dead is your son and the living is my son. Thus they spoke before the king.
²³ Then the king said, The one says, This is my son that lives and your son is the dead. And the other says, No, but your son is the dead and my son is the living. ²⁴ And the king said, Fetch me a sword. And they brought a sword before the king. ²⁵ And the king said, Divide the living child in two and give half to the one and half to the other.
²⁶ Then the woman whose the living child was spoke to the king, for her heart yearned over her son and she said, Oh, my lord, give her the living child and by no means kill it. But the other said, It will be neither mine nor your. Divide it. ²⁷ Then the king answered and said, Give her the living child and by no means kill it; she is the mother of it.
²⁸ And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged. And they feared the king, for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to do justice.

⁷ And he brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle's daughter. For she had neither father nor mother and the maiden was fair and beautiful. And when her father and mother were dead, Mordecai took her for his own daughter.

¹⁸ (no, from my youth he grew up with me as with a father and her I have guided from my mother's womb);

² It is the glory of God to conceal a thing, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter.

⁷ A righteous man takes knowledge of the cause of the poor. A wicked man has no such understanding to know.

¹ Therefore become imitators of God, as beloved children,

³⁵ I went out after him and killed* him and delivered it out of his mouth. And when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard and killed* him and killed him.

⁷ Arise, O Jehovah. Save me, O my God. Because you have struck all my enemies upon the cheek bone. You have broken the teeth of the wicked.

⁸ as a snail which melts and passes away, as the untimely birth of a woman, that has not seen the sun.

³ then they would have swallowed us up alive when their wrath was kindled against us,

⁶ Praise Jehovah, who has not given us as a prey to their teeth.

¹⁴ There is a generation whose teeth are swords and their jaw teeth, knives, to devour the poor from the earth and the needy from among men.

¹² And you said, I will surely do you good and make your seed as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.

⁴⁹ And Joseph laid up grain as the sand of the sea, very much, until he left off numbering, because it was without number.

²⁶ You will come to your grave in a full age, like a shock of grain comes in its season.

¹⁶ And after this Job lived a hundred and forty years and saw his sons and his sons' sons, even four generations. ¹⁷ So Job died, being old and full of days.

⁶ As for me, I said in my prosperity, I will not be shaken everlasting. ⁷ You, Jehovah, had made my mountain to stand strong from your favor. You hid your face; I was troubled.

¹⁶ I will satisfy him with long life and show him my salvation.

²³ O inhabitant of Lebanon, who makes your nest in the cedars, how greatly to be pitied you will be when pangs come upon you, the pain as of a woman in travail!

¹⁶ As for your formidableness, the pride of your heart has deceived you, O you who dwells in the clefts of the rock, who holds the height of the hill. Though you should make your nest as high as the eagle, I will bring you down from there, says Jehovah.

⁴ Though you mount on high as the eagle and though your nest is set among the stars, I will bring you down from there, says Jehovah.

⁹ Woe to him who gets an evil gain for his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the hand of evil!

¹⁶ His roots will be dried up beneath and above his limbs be will cut off.

³ And he will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also does not wither. And whatever he does will prosper.

⁸ For he will be as a tree planted by the waters, that spreads out its roots by the river and will not fear when heat comes, but its leaf will be green and will not be worried in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit.

⁵ I will be as the dew to Israel. He will blossom as the lily and cast forth his roots as Lebanon. ⁶ His offshoots will spread and his beauty will be as the olive tree and his smell as Lebanon.
⁷ Those who dwell under his shadow will return. They will revive as the grain and blossom as the vine. The scent of it will be as the wine of Lebanon.

¹³ And you* will tell my father of all my glory in Egypt and of all that you* have seen. And you* will hasten and bring down my father here.

²⁴ but his bow abode in strength. And the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob (From there is the shepherd, the stone of Israel),

⁹ He has stripped me of my glory and taken the crown from my head.

¹⁴ I put on righteousness and it clothed me. My justice was as a robe and a diadem.

³ But you, O Jehovah, are a shield on my behalf, my glory and he who lifts up of my head.

³⁴ He teaches my hands to war, so that my arms bend a bow of brass.

⁵ who satisfies your desire with good things and your youth is renewed like the eagle.

³¹ But those who wait for Jehovah will renew their strength. They will mount up with pinions like eagles. They will run and not be weary. They will walk and not faint.

¹⁶ Hence we are not depressed, but even if the outward man is decaying, but yet our inward man is renewed day in and day out.

⁹ The rulers refrained from talking and laid their hand on their mouth. ¹⁰ The voice of the ranking men was hushed and their tongue stuck to the roof of their mouth.

¹¹ Behold, I waited for your* words, I listened for your* reasonings, while you* searched out what to say. ¹² Yes, I attended to you*. And behold, there was none who convinced Job, or who answered his words among you*.

² My doctrine will drop as the rain. My speech will flow as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender grass and as the showers upon the herb.

¹⁵ They are amazed, they answer no more. They have not a word to say.
¹⁶ And shall I wait because they do not speak, because they stand still and answer no more?

³¹ Mark well, O Job, listen to me. Keep silent and I will speak. ³² If you have anything to say, answer me. Speak, for I desire to justify you. ³³ If not, listen to me. Keep silent and I will teach you.

¹¹ Your lips, O my bride, drop the honeycomb. Honey and milk are under your tongue and the smell of your garments is like the smell of Lebanon.

¹⁵ so will he sprinkle many nations. Kings will shut their mouths at him. For what had not been told them they will see and what they had not heard they will understand.

⁴⁶ Son of man, set your face toward the south and drop your word toward the south and prophesy against the forest of the field in the South.

¹⁶ Now therefore hear the word of Jehovah: You say, Do not prophesy against Israel and do not drop your word against the house of Isaac.

⁶ Prophesy you* not, they prophesy. They will not prophesy to these, so reproaches will not depart.

⁴⁶ And no one was able to answer him a word, nor did anyone dare from that day forth to ask him anymore questions.

⁶ He will come down like rain upon the mowed grass, as showers that water the earth.

³ And let us know, let us follow on to know Jehovah. His going forth is sure as the morning and he will come to us as the rain, as the latter rain that waters the earth.

¹ Ask you* of Jehovah rain in the time of the latter rain, even of Jehovah who makes lightnings and he will give them showers of rain, to everyone grass in the field.

²⁶ And they told him, saying, Joseph is yet alive and he is ruler over all the land of Egypt. And his heart fainted, because he did not believe them.

¹⁵ The people who know the shout of you are fortunate. O Jehovah, they walk in the light of your countenance.

¹ When Jehovah brought back those who returned to Zion, we were like those who dream.

⁴¹ But still disbelieving this from joy and marveling; he said to them, Do you have anything edible here?

¹⁴ And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he led out his trained men, born in his house, three hundred and eighteen of them and pursued as far as Dan. ¹⁵ And he divided himself against them by night, he and his servants and killed* them and pursued them to Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus. ¹⁶ And he brought back all the goods and also brought back his brother Lot and his goods and also the women and the people.
¹⁷ And the King of Sodom went out to meet him, after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer and the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh (what is the King's Valley).

⁴⁰ You will be over my house and according to your word all my people will be ruled. Only in the throne I will be greater than you.

⁵ And he was king in Jeshurun when the heads of the people were gathered, all the tribes of Israel together.

⁸ And the elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, For that reason we turned again to you now, that you may go with us and fight with the sons of Ammon. And you will be our head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.

² In times past, when Saul was king over us, it was you who led out and brought in Israel. And Jehovah said to you, You will be shepherd of my people Israel and you will be prince over Israel.

¹ And David consulted with the captains of thousands and of hundreds, even with every leader. ² And David said to all the assembly of Israel, If it seems good to you* and if it is of Jehovah our God, let us send abroad everywhere to our brothers who are left in all the land of Israel, with whom the priests and Levites are in their cities that have suburbs, that they may gather themselves to us. ³ And let us bring again the ark of our God to us, for we did not inquire from it in the days of Saul. ⁴ And all the assembly said that they would do so, for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.

³ His substance also was seven thousand sheep and three thousand camels and five hundred yoke of oxen and five hundred female-donkeys and a very great household, so that this man was the greatest of all the sons of the east.

³ Behold, you have instructed many and you have strengthened the weak hands. ⁴ Your words have upheld him who was falling and you have made firm the feeble knees.

³⁷ I would declare to him the number of my steps. I would go near to him as a prince.

³ Strengthen you* the weak hands and confirm the feeble knees. ⁴ Say to those who are of a fearful heart, Be strong, do not fear. Behold, your* God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you*.

¹ The Spirit of the lord Jehovah is upon me, because Jehovah has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind and the opening of bonds to those who are bound, ² to proclaim the acceptable year of Jehovah and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, ³ to appoint to those who mourn in Zion, to give to them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, that he may be glorified.

³ The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of the mercies and God of all encouragement is gracious; ⁴ who is encouraging us on our every affliction, that we may be able to encourage those who are in any affliction, through the encouragement of which we ourselves are encouraged by God.

⁵ For even when we came into Macedonia, our flesh still had no relief, but we were being afflicted in everything; outside were quarrels, inside were fears. ⁶ But God, who encourages the humble, encouraged us at the presence of Titus; ⁷ and not only at his presence, but also at the encouragement to which he was encouraged in you, while reporting to us your longing, your anguish, your zeal on my behalf; so-that I rejoiced even more.

² And we sent Timothy, our brother and God’s servant and our fellow worker in the good-news of the Christ, that he might establish you and to encourage you concerning your faith; ³ that no one be shook up in these afflictions; for you yourselves know that we are destined for this thing.
