¹ Then Jehovah answered Job out of the whirlwind and said,

¹⁶ And it happened on the third day, when it was morning, that there were thunders and lightnings and a thick cloud upon the mountain and the voice of an exceedingly loud trumpet. And all the people who were in the camp trembled.
¹⁷ And Moses brought out the people out of the camp to meet God and they stood at the lower part of the mountain. ¹⁸ And Mount Sinai, the whole of it, smoked, because Jehovah descended upon it in fire and the smoke of it ascended as the smoke of a furnace. And the whole mountain quaked greatly.
¹⁹ And when the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke and God answered him by a voice.

¹¹ And you* came near and stood under the mountain and the mountain burned with fire to the heart of heaven, with darkness, cloud and thick darkness.
¹² And Jehovah spoke to you* out of the midst of the fire. You* heard the voice of words, but you* saw no form, only a voice.

²² These words Jehovah spoke to all your* assembly on the mountain out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud and of the thick darkness, with a great voice and he added no more. And he wrote them upon two tablets of stone and gave them to me.
²³ And it happened, when you* heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, while the mountain was burning with fire, that you* came near to me, even all the heads of your* tribes and your* elders. ²⁴ And you* said, Behold, Jehovah our God has shown us his glory and his greatness and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire. We have seen this day that God speaks with man and he lives.

¹¹ And he said, Go forth and stand upon the mountain before Jehovah. And behold, Jehovah passed by and a great and strong wind tore the mountains and broke in pieces the rocks before Jehovah, but Jehovah was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but Jehovah was not in the earthquake.

¹ And it happened, when Jehovah would take up Elijah by a whirlwind into heaven, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.

¹¹ And it happened, as they still went on and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire and horses of fire, which divided them both apart. And Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

¹ Yes, at this my heart trembles and is moved out of its place.
² Hear, O, hear the noise of his voice and the rumbling that goes out of his mouth.

⁹ Out of the chamber of the south comes the storm and cold out of the north.

¹⁴ Listen to this, O Job. Stand still and consider the wondrous works of God.

⁶ Then Jehovah answered Job out of the whirlwind and said,

⁴ And I looked, and behold, a stormy wind came out of the north, a great cloud, with a fire enfolding itself and a brightness all around it and out of the midst of it, as it were glowing metal, out of the midst of the fire.

³ Jehovah is slow to anger and great in power and will by no means clear the guilty.
Jehovah has his way in the whirlwind and in the storm and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
