³ And I took your* father Abraham from beyond the River and led him throughout all the land of Canaan and multiplied his seed and gave him Isaac.

¹ Now Jehovah said to Abram, Go out of your country and from your kindred and from your father's house, to the land that I will show you. ² And I will make of you a great nation and I will bless you and make your name great and you will be a blessing. ³ And I will bless those who bless you and he who curses you I will curse. And all the families of the earth will be blessed in you.
⁴ So Abram went as Jehovah had spoken to him and Lot went with him. And Abram was a son of seventy-five years when he departed out of Haran.

⁵ And he brought him outside and said, Look now toward heaven and number the stars, if you are able to number them. And he said to him, So your seed will be.

² And Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. ³ And Abraham called the name of his son who was born to him, Isaac, whom Sarah bore to him.

⁷ You are Jehovah, the God who chose Abram and brought him forth out of Ur of the Chaldeans and gave him the name of Abraham, ⁸ and found his heart faithful before you and made a covenant with him to give the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite and the Perizzite and the Jebusite and the Girgashite, to give it to his seed and have performed your words, for you are righteous.

³ Behold, sons are a heritage of Jehovah and the fruit of the womb is a reward.

² Now he said, Brethren and fathers, listen : the God of glory appeared to our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Haran, ³ and said to him, Come out of your land and from your relatives and come-here into the land whatever I will be showing you.
