²² Now this whole thing has happened, in order that what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet might be fulfilled, saying,

¹⁵ And he said, Praise Jehovah, the God of Israel, who spoke with his mouth to David my father and has with his hand fulfilled it, saying,

²⁴ who have kept with your servant David my father what you did promise him. Yes, you spoke with your mouth and have fulfilled it with your hand, as it is this day.

¹ Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of Jehovah by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, Jehovah stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom and put it also in writing, saying,

¹⁵ and they were there until the end of Herod; in order that what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet might be fulfilled, saying, ‘Out of Egypt I called my son.’

²³ and he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth; that what was spoken through the prophets might be fulfilled, that he will be called a Nazarene.

¹⁷ Do not suppose that I came to tear-down the law or the prophets; I did not come to tear-down, but to fulfill.

¹⁷ that what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, saying, ‘He himself took our weaknesses and bears our diseases.’

¹⁷ that what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, saying,

²¹ but he does not have root in himself, but is temporary, and when affliction or persecution has happened to him because of the word, immediately he stumbles.

³⁵ that what was spoken through the prophet might be fulfilled, saying, ‘I will open my mouth in parables. I will be uttering things which have been hidden from the conception of the world.’

²² Because these are days of vengeance, that all things which have been written may be fulfilled.

⁴⁴ Now he said to them, These are the words which I spoke to you, being still together with you, that it is essential for all things to be fulfilled, which have been written in the Law of Moses and the prophets and the Psalms, concerning me.

³⁵ If he called those men gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture is not able to be torn-down),

³⁸ in order that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke, ‘Lord, who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?’ ³⁹ Because of this, they were not able to believe, because Isaiah said again, ⁴⁰ ‘He has blinded their eyes and he has hardened their heart; in order that they should not see with their eyes and should perceive with their heart and should turn and that I might heal them.’

²⁵ But this happened, in order that the word might be fulfilled that has been written in their law, ‘They hated me undeservedly.’

¹² When I was with them in the world, I was keeping them in your name whom you have given me. I guarded them and not one out of them perished, except the son of destruction; in order that the Scripture might be fulfilled.

⁹ (This happened in order that the word might be fulfilled which he spoke, Out of those whom you have given me, I did not lose one.)

³⁶ For these things happened in order that the Scripture might be fulfilled, ‘A bone of him will not be crushed.’ ³⁷ And again a different Scripture says, ‘They will be looking at the one whom they stabbed.’

¹⁸ But what God proclaimed beforehand through the mouth of all the prophets, that the Christ was to suffer, he thus fulfilled.

²⁷ For those dwelling in Jerusalem and their rulers who were ignorant of this one, and the voices of the prophets which are read on every Sabbath, they fulfilled them by having judged him to death. \ulnone\nosupersub ²⁸ And though no one found a crime worthy of death in him, they still asked Pilate to assassinate him. ²⁹ Now as they completed all things which have been written concerning him, they took him down from the tree and laid him in a tomb.

¹⁷ For God gave to their hearts to do his intention and to do it with one intention and to give their kingdom to the beast, till the words of God should be completed.
