²¹ But Rehoboam loued Maacah the doughter of Absalom aboue all hys other wyues and concubines for he toke .xviij. wyues & thre skore concubynes, and begat thre skore doughters, and .xxviij. sonnes

¹⁷ Also he shall not haue to many wyues lest his hert turne away, neither shal he gather hym siluer & gold to much.

³⁰ And Gedeon had .lxx. sonnes of hys bodye begotten, for he had many wyues.

² And Dauid had chyldren borne him in Hebron: hys eldest sonne was Ammon of Ahinoam the Iesrahelyte: ³ the seconde Cheleab of Abigail the wyfe of Nabal the Carmelyte: the thyrd Absalon the sonne of Maachah the doughter of Tholmai the King of Gessur ⁴ the fourth Adoniah the sonne of Hagith: the fyfte Saphatiah the sonne of Abital: ⁵ the syxte Iethraam by Egla Dauids wyfe. These were borne to Dauid in Hebron.

¹³ And Dauid toke hym mo concubynes and wyues out of Ierusalem, after he was come from Hebron, and mo sonnes and doughters were yet borne to Dauid.

³ And he had seuen hundred very Quenes and thre hundred concubynes whiche turned away his hert.

The seconde Daniel by Abigaill the Carmelitesse. ² The thirde Absalom the sonne of Maacah doughter of Tholmai kinge of Gesur. The fourth Adoniah the sonne of Hagith. ³ The fyfte Saphatiah by Abital. The sixte Iethraam by Eglah his wife. ⁴ These .vi. were borne hym in Hebron where he raygned seuen yeare and sixe monethes. And in Ierusalem he raygned .xxxiij. yeare. ⁵ And these were borne hym in Ierusalem: Samna, Sobab, Nathan & Salomon: these .iiij. of the doughter of Bath Sua and the doughter of Amiel. ⁶ Then Iebahar Elisama, Elphalet, ⁷ Nogeh, Nepheg, Iaphia, ⁸ Elisama, Eliada, and Eliphelet: nyne in numbre. ⁹ These are all the sonnes of Dauid, beside the sonnes of his concubines and Thamar theyr syster.

²³ And he played wysely & skatered of al hys children thorow out all the countreyes of Iuda & Beniamin in euerye strong cyty. And he gaue them aboundaunce of vytayle, and asked manye wyues.

⁸ There are thre score Quenes, foure score concubines, & yong women without numbre. ⁹ But one is my doue, my derling. She is the onely beloued of her mother, and deare vnto her that bare her. When the daughters sawe her, they sayde, she was blessed: Yea the Quenes and concubynes praysed her.
