¹⁸ And so they lefte the house of the Lorde God of theyr fathers, and serued groues and Images. And then came there wrath vpon Iuda and Ierusalem, for thys theyr trespaces sake.

¹⁴ Therto all the rulers of the preastes with the people trespaced a pace after all maner of abhomynacyons of the hethen & poluted the house of the Lorde which he had halowed in Ierusalem. ¹⁵ And the Lord God of theyr fathers sent to them by his messengers, sendynge them be tymes: for he had compassyon on hys people & on his dwellynge place. ¹⁶ But they mocked the messengers of God & despised theyr wordes & mysse vsed his prophetes, vntyll the wrath of the Lord so arose agaynst hys people that it was past remeadie.

¹⁰ Yet are the princes of Iuda become lyke them, that remoue the landemarckes, therfore will I poure oute my wrath vpon them lyke water. ¹¹ Ephraim is oppressed, and can haue no right of the lawe: for why? they folowe the doctrynes of men.

¹⁴ I am vnto Ephraim as a lyon, and as a lyons whelpe to the house of Iuda. Euen I, I wyll spoyle them, and go my way. I will take them with me, & no man shall rescue them.

⁴ I wyll stretche oute myne hande vpon Iuda, and vpon all suche as dwell at Ierusalem. Thus wyll I rote oute the remnaunte of Baal from thys place, & the names of the Remurins and priestes: ⁵ yea and suche as vpon theyr house toppes worshyppe and bowe them selues vnto the host of heauen: whiche sweare by the Lorde, & by theyr Malchom also: ⁶ whiche starte a backe from the Lord, & neyther seke after the Lorde, nor regarde him.

⁶ Let no man deceiue you with vayne wordes. For thorowe suche thinges commeth the wrath of God vpon the children of vnbelefe.
