²² And he sayde: yea. But my mayster hath sente me, sayinge: se there be two younge men come to me oute of Ephraim of the chyldren of the Prophetes: geue them I praye the, one talent of syluer, & a couple of good garmentes.

²⁴ All the golde that was occupyed vpon all the worke of the holy place (whiche was the golde of the waueofferynge) was .xxix. hundred weyght and seuen hundred and .xxx. sycles, accordynge to the holy sycle. ²⁵ And the summe of syluer that came of the multitude was .v. score hundred weyght & a thousande seuen hundred & .lxxv. sycles of the holy sycle. ²⁶ Euery man offrynge halfe a sycle after the weyght of the holy sycle among them that went to be nombred from .xx. yere olde & aboue, among .vi. hundred thousande and .iij. thousande and .v. hundred and .l. men. ²⁷ And the .v. score hundred weight of siluer went to the castynge of the sockettes of the sanctuary & the sockettes of the vayle: an hundred sockettes of the .v. score hundred weight an hundred weyght to euery sockette. ²⁸ And the thousande seuen hundred & .lxxv. sycles, made knoppes to the pyllers, & ouerlayd the heedes and whoped them.

³³ And Eleazar the sonne of Aaron dyed, whom they buryed in Gabaath that pertained to Phinehes hys sonne, and was geuen hym in mounte Ephraim.

¹⁸ And the olde Prophet sayde vnto hym: I am a prophet as wel as thou, and an angel spake vnto me with the worde of the Lorde saying: bring hym agayne with the to thyne house, and let hym eate breade and drincke water, & yet lyed vnto hym.

³⁵ Then a certaine man of the children of the Prophetes said vnto his felow with the word of the Lorde, smyte me I pray the. And the man woulde not smyte him.

³⁹ And when the kinge came by, he cryed vnto hym and sayde: thy seruaunt went out in the myddes in the battel. And se, there was one beganne to flee. And there came a man to me and sayde: kepe this man. And yf he be missed thy lyfe shall go for hys, or else thou shalte paye a talent of syluer.

³ the children of the prophetes that were at Bethel, came out to Elizeus, & sayd to him: knowest thou not how that the Lord wil take away thy maister from the this day? And he said: I know it to: holde youre peace.

⁵ And the king of Siria sayde: go thy waye, and I will sende a letter vnto the kinge of Israel. And he went and toke with hym ten talentes of syluer, and .vi. thousand peces of gould, and then chaunge of raymentes.

³ For your handes are defiled with bloud and youre fyngers with vnryghteousnesse. Youre lippes speake lesinges, and your tong setteth oute wickednes.

³ They bende theyr tunges lyke bowes, to shute oute lyes. As for the trueth, they may nothynge awaye with all in the worlde. For they go from one wyckednes to another, & hold nothinge of me, sayeth the Lorde.

⁵ Yea one dyssembleth with another, & they deale wyth no trueth. They haue practysed theyr tunges to lye, and taken greate paynes to do myschefe.

⁴⁴ Ye are of youre father the deuyl, and the lustes of your father ye wyll do. He was a murtherer from the begynnyng, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truthe in hym. When he speaketh a lye, then speaketh he of hys owne. For he is a lyar, and the father therof.

³ Then said Peter. Ananias, how is it, that Sathan hath fylled thyne hert, that thou shouldest lye vnto the holy ghost, and kepe awaye part of the pryce of the lyuelod: ⁴ Pertained it not vnto the onelie, and after it was solde, was not the price in thine owne power? Howe is that, thou hast conceiued this thinge in thyne herte? Thou hast not lied vnto men, but vnto God.

¹⁶ But be it that I greued you not: neuerthelesse I was crafty and toke you with gyle. ¹⁷ Dyd I pyl you by any of them which I sent vnto you? ¹⁸ I desyred Titus, and with hym I sent a brother. Did Tytus defraude you of any thing? walked we not in one spyryte? walked we not in lyke steppes?

⁸ But the fearful and vnbeleuing, & the abhominable, & murtherers, & whoremongers, & sorcerers, & ydolaters, & al lyars shall haue their parte in the lake which burneth wt fyre & brymstone, which is the seconde death.
