¹⁸ And thoughe he wyll not, yet shalte thou knowe (O kynge) that we wil not serue thy Goddes, nor do reuerence to the Image, whiche thou haste set vp.

³ Thou shalt haue none other Goddes in my sight. ⁴ Thou shalt make the no grauen ymage neyther any similitude that is in heauen aboue either in the earth beneth, or in the water that is beneth the earth. ⁵ Se that thou neither bowe thy self vnto them neither serue them: for I the Lord thy God, am a gelouse God, & viset the synne of the fathers vppon the chyldren vnto the thyrd and fourth generacion of them that hate me:

⁴ Ye shall not turne vnto ydolles nor make you goddes of metall: I am the Lord your God.

¹⁵ But yf it seme euyll vnto you to serue the Lorde, then chose you thys day whom you wyll serue whether the Goddes whiche youre fathers serued that were on the other syde of the floude, eyther the Goddes of the Amorytes in whose lande, ye dwelte, and I & my house wyll serue the Lorde.

¹⁵ Lo, there is nether conforte nor hope for me, yf he wyll slaye me. But yf I shewe and reproue myne owne wayes in his syght,

¹ The vngodly flyeth no man chasyng him, but the rightuous standeth styf as lyon.

¹² Yea I, I am euen he, that in all thynges geueth you consolacion. What arte thou then, that fearest a mortal man, the chylde of man, whiche goeth awaye as doeth the floure? ¹³ And forgettest the Lord that made the, that spred oute the heauens, & layde the foundacyon of the earthe. But thou arte euer afrayde for the syght of thyne oppressour whiche is ready to do harme: Where is the wrath of the oppressoure?

²⁸ Then spake Nabuchodonosor, and sayde: Blessed be the God of Sidrach, Misach and Abednago, whiche hath sente his aungel, & defended hys seruauntes, that put their trust in him: that haue altered the kynges commaundement: and yeoparde theyr bodyes thervpon, rather then they wolde serue or worshyp any other God, excepte theyr owne God onelye.

²⁸ And feare ye not them which kil the body, and be not able to kill the soule. But rather feare him, which is able to destroy both soule & body into hell.

³² Whosoeuer therfore shall acknowlege me before men, hym will I acknowledge also before my father which is in heauen. ³³ But whosoeuer shall deny me before men, hym will I also deny before my father which is in heauen.

³⁹ He that findeth hys lyfe, shal loose it: and he that looseth hys lyfe for my sake, shall fynde it.

² He aunswered and saide vnto them. At euen ye saye, we shall haue fayre wedder, and that because the skye is reed:

³ For whatsoeuer ye haue spoken in darknes: that same shall be hearde in lyghte. And that whiche ye haue spoken in the eare, euen in secrete places, shall be preached euen on the toppe of the housses. ⁴ I saye vnto you my frendes: Be not afrayde of them that kyll the bodye, and after that haue no more that they can do. ⁵ But I wil shew you whom ye shall feare. Feare hym whiche after he hath kylled, hath power to caste into hell. Yea I saye vnto you, hym feare. ⁶ Are not fyue sparrowes bought for .ij. farthynges? And yet not one of them is forgotten of God. ⁷ Also euen the very heares of your heades are numbred. Feare not therfore: Ye are more of value then many sparowes. ⁸ I saye vnto you whosoeuer confesseth me before men, euen hym shall the sonne of man confesse also before the Angels of God. ⁹ And he that denyeth me before men, shalbe denied before the Angels of God.

¹⁰ be it knowen vnto you all and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Iesus Christe of Nazareth, whom ye crucifyed, and whom God raysed agayne from deathe, euen by hym doth thys man stande here presente before you whole. ¹¹ This is the stone cast asyde of you builders, which is set in the chiefe place of the corner. ¹² Neither is ther saluacion in any other. Nor yet also is there any other name geuen to men wherin we muste be saued. ¹³ When they sawe the boldnes of Peter & Iohn and vnderstode that, they were vnlerned men and lay people, they meruailed, and they knew then that they were with Iesu:

¹⁹ But Peter and Iohn aunswered to them and sayd: whether it be ryght in the syght of God to obey you more then God, iudge ye.

²⁹ Peter and the other Apostles aunswered & saied. We ought more to obey God, then men. ³⁰ The God of our father raysed vp Iesus whom ye slewe and hanged on tree. ³¹ Hym hath God lyfte vp with his ryght hand to be a ruler and a sauiour, for to geue repentaunce to Israell and forgeuenes of synnes? ³² And we are hys recordes concerninge these thinges, & also the holy ghost, whom God hath geuen to them that obey him.

¹⁰ Feare none of those thynges, which thou shalt suffre. Behold, the deuil shal caste of you into pryson, to tempte you, and ye shal haue tribulacion .x. dayes. Be faythful vnto the death, & I wyl geue the a croune of life. ¹¹ Let him that hath eares, heare what the spyryte sayth to the congregacyons. He that ouercommeth, shall not be hurte of the second death.

¹¹ And they ouercame hym by the bloude of the lambe, and by the worde of theyr testimony, and they loued not theyr liues vnto the death.
