And he builded an aulter ther vnto the Lord whyche appeared vnto hym. 8 Then departed he thence vnto a mountayne that lyeth on the east syde of Bethell & pitched hys tente: Bethel beynge on the west syde, and Ay on the east: and he builded there an aulter vnto the Lord, & called on the name of the Lorde. 9 And then Abram departed and toke hys iourney southwarde. 10 After thys ther came a derth in the lande. And Abram went downe into Egypte, to soiourne ther, for the derth was sore in the land. 11 And when he was come nye for to enter into Egypte, he sayed vnto Sarai hys wyfe. Behold, I knowe that thou art a fayre woman to loke vpon. 12 It wyll come to passe therfore when the Egyptyans se the, that they wyll saye: she is hys wyfe. And so shall they sley me and saue the. 13 Saye I pray the therfore that thou arte my sister that I maye fare the better by reason of the, and that my soule may lyue for thy sake. 14 As soone as he came into Egypte, the Egypsians saw the woman that she was very fayre. 15 And Pharaos Lodres sawe hir also, & praysed hyr vnto Pharao: So that she was taken into Pharaos house, 16 which entreated Abram wel for hir sake, so that he had shepe oxen, & he Asses, men seruauntes, mayd seruantes, she asses, and camels. 17 But God plaged Pharao, and his house wt greate plages, bycause of Sarai Abrams wyfe. 18 Then Pharao called Abram & sayed: Whi hast thou thus dealt wt me? Wherfore toldest thou me not that she was thy wyfe? 19 Why saydest thou, that she was thy sister, & causedeste me to take hyr to my wyfe? But nowe loo, there is thy wyfe, take hyr and be walkynge. 20 Pharao also gaue a charge vnto his menne ouer Abram, to leade hym oute, with hys wyfe, and all that he had.

31 Then toke Terah Abram hys sonne, & Lot hys sonne, Harans sonne, & Sarai hys daughter in lawe, hys sonne Abrams wyfe. And they went wyth him from Or in Chaldea, to goo into the Lande of Canaan. And se, I haue gathered a few styckes for to go & bake it for my and my sonne, that we maye eate it, and then dye. 13 And Eliah sayde vnto her: feare not, but go and do as thou hast sayde: but make me therof a lytle cake fyrst of all, and brynge it out to me: and afterwarde make for the and thy sonne. 14 For thus sayeth the God of Israel: the pitcher of mele shal not be wasted neither shall thy oyle cruse be withoute oyle, vntil the Lorde haue sent rayne vpon the earthe. 15 And she went and dyd as Eliah bad. And she and he and her house dyd eate a good space, 16 & the pitcher of mele wasted not, neyther was the oyle cruse withoute oyle accordynge to the worde of the Lorde whyche he spake thorowe Eliah. 17 And after these thinges, it happened that the sonne of the wyfe of the house fell sycke. In so muche that they sayde one to another: se, the kynge of Israell hath hyred agaynste vs, the kynges of the Hethites & the kynges of Egypte, to come vpon vs. 7 And vpon that they arose, and fled in the darcke, & left theyr tentes, theyr horsses, theyr asses and the feld they had pytched euen as it was, and fled for theyr lyues. 8 And when these lepers came to the edge of the hoste, they wente into a tente, and dyd eate and dryncke, and caryed thence syluer, goulde and raymente, and wente and hydde it, and came agayne, and entred into another, & caryed thence also, and wente, and hyde it.

And she must come vnto the kynge no more, excepte it pleased the kynge, and that he caused her to be called by name. 15 Now when the tyme came of Esther the doughter of Abihail Mardocheus vncle (whom he had receyued as hys owne doughter) that she shoulde come to the kyng, she desyred nothynge but what Hagei the kinges chamberlayne the keper of the wemen sayde. And Esther founde fauoure in the syghte of all them that loked vpon her. 16 And Esther was taken vnto kynge Ahasuerus into the house royall, in the tenth moneth whyche is called Tebeth, in the seuenth yeare of hys raygne.

And the Philistines went vp to Iesrahell.
